CCMC803 – Beach Day

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. It’s a fun sketch challenge to inspire you!

BEACH DAY

I’ve had this Beach Day set for a while but hadn’t used it yet. I knew I wanted to try to use it for today’s sketch! This bundle has lots of little pieces, but this idea is easy enough to use for a class!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Daffodil Delight cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Sunny Days DSP (SAB selection) was added to the background.
The 2-1/2 x 3-3/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was blended with Pool Party Ink across the top portion, then stamped with the Beach Day greeting in Memento Black in the upper right corner.
A 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Crumb Cake was added to the bottom of the Basic White c/s, then stamped with the grass image from Beach Day and Crumb Cake Ink.
A 1/4 x 3-1/2 strip of Melon Mambo was added behind the Basic White layer, then added to the front.
The umbrella and chair from Beach Day stamp set were stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. They were cut with the dies, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sun (beachball) was cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock and added to the top.
Three white Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio were added to the sand and sky.

CS126 – Jungle Pals

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards. This is the last week for our theme of “NEW” cards…let’s use some of the new products in the Jan-Apr Mini Catalog and SAB Catalog on our cards!

JUNGLE PALS

I think this alligator from Jungle Pals (SAB) is SO cute! We have a resident alligator in the pond by our mailbox. He likes to sun himself on the grassy bank and we will sit on the bench and watch him.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic White was sponged in the middle with Pool Party Ink and the greeting from Heartfelt Hellos was stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink.
A 1 x 5 strip of Flight & Airy DSP was added to the bottom of the Basic White layer.
The greenery was cut with the Jungle Pals Die from Mossy Meadow cardstock, the flowers from Poppy Parade cardstock. They were adhered to the front.
The alligator was stamped on scrap Basic White cardstock with Memento Black Ink then colored with Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. He was cut out with the Jungle Pals Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two Pool Party Opaque Faceted Gems (SAB) were added to the center of the flowers.

IM317 – Translucent Florals

Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration challenge is a gorgeous blue flower bouquet!

TRANSLUCENT FLORALS

I pulled out a favorite set from the Annual Catalog because the blossoms in the inspiration photo reminded me of this Translucent Florals set! I added the new SAB Embossing Folder to go with it!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Boho Blue cardstock was embossed with the Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder and added to the front.
- The half flower from Translucent Florals was inked five times on with with Balmy Blue Ink, then sponged the centers with Boho Blue Ink and stamped on Basic White. They were cut with the Translucent Florals Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The leaves were stamped with Soft Sea Foam Ink on Basic White and colored with Light Soft Sea Foam Stapin’ Blends for a little more depth. They were cut in half and added at the top and bottom of the floral bunch.
- The greeting from Translucent Florals was stamped with Boho Blue on 2/3 x 2 Basic White cardstock and the ends cut at an angle. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the centers of the flowers for a little bling.

Saturday Blog Hop – I Think I Love You

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “I Think I Love You”. We’ll be showing off Valentines, of course!

ADORING HEARTS

I’ve combined the Adoring Hearts Dies with the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set on today’s card for a little different look!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Flirty Flamingo cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock is embossed with the Basics (Crosshatch) Embossing Folder (online exclusive).
A 1 x 4 piece of Most Adored Designer Paper is added to the front.
The hearts were cut from Real Red cardstock, Flirty Flamingo cardstock and Most Adored DSP using the Adoring Hearts Die and Embossing Folder. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The outline image from Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set was stamped with Real Red Ink on Basic White cardstock and the greeting with Flirty Flamingo Ink. It was punched with the Hexagon Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of pink Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio were added to the front.

CCMC802 – Detailed Dogwood

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. It’s a pretty color challenge this week.

DETAILED DOGWOOD

Of course, the obvious choice would be to use the beautiful Painted Lavender Bundle with these colors in the gorgeous designer paper! But I wanted to think outside the box a little and go in a different direction with the Detailed Dogwood Stamp Set.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Highland Heather was embossed with the SAB Level 2 embossing folder Softly Sophisticated. The center medallion was cut out with the largest Thoughtful Expressions Dies. It was added to the base card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The dogwood image from Detailed Dogwood Stamp Set (SAB Level 2) was inked with Highland Heather and Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Write Markers, then stamped on Basic White cardstock. It was watercolored with Highland Heather, Lost Lagoon and Gorgeous Grape Stampin’ Write Markers and the Water Painters, then hand-cut and added inside the opening, but hanging over slightly. A single flower in the large image was done the same way.
Happy Birthday from Very Best Occasions was stamped with Gorgeous Grape Ink on Lost Lagoon cardstock and cut with the label Thoughtful Expressions Die. It was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Purple Fine Shimmer Gems were added to the background.

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen purple dogwoods, but it was a different look using this SAB set and I really like how it turned out! OK, go check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary

CS125 – Hot Air Balloon

HOT AIR BALLOON

I’ve used the Hot Air Balloon bundle and a SAB Embossing Folder on today’s card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Lemon Lolly cardstock was embossed with the Level 2 Softly Sophisticated Bundle’s Embossing Folder, then colored in the upper right corner with Daffodil Delight Ink using a Blending Brush to give some depth behind the balloon.
The hot air balloon was stamped with Flirty Flamingo Ink, then Lemon Lolly and Blueberry Bushel Inks for the stripes and basket. They were cut with the Hot Air Balloons Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The inside banner and cloud were cut with the Dies from Basic White.
The outside banner was cut with the Die from Lemon Lime Twist.
Some Flirty Flamingo Baker’s Twine Three Pack was wrapped in circles and added behind the greeting banner, then adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensional.
Three Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots were added to the background.

IM316 – Painted Lavender

Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration challenge is a pretty lavender print!

PAINTED LAVENDER

The Perennial Lavender Suite of products is definitely one of my favorites in the Mini Catalog! I love the postage dies and the pretty lavender options with both stamps and dies!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Highland Heather cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was cut with the largest Perennial Postage Die, then embossed with the Layered Florals Embossing Folder, and added to the front.
- The 1 x 3-1/2 and 1 x 4-1/2 pieces of Perennial Lavender Designer Paper s were criss-crossed on the front.
- The branch from Painted Lavender Dies was cut from Lost Lagoon cardstock and two sets of lavender flower stocks from Basic White cardstock. The flower stocks were colored with Highland Heather and Lost Lagoon Inks using a sponge dauber, then added to the front.
- The greeting from Perennial Postage was stamped with Lost Lagoon Ink, then cut with the small label die in Thoughtful Expressions (LOVE those label dies!). It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the stems.
- Two large Purple Shimmer Gems were added to the DSP.

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Mini Celebration”. This week we are featuring our favorite January – April 2024 Mini Catalog Bundles!

CUTEST COWS

Well, this Cutest Cows Bundle was the last to go on my original preorder. I was up and down on whether or not I wanted to get it. BUT…it has become one of my favorites! I’ve used it on two swaps, several challenges, and still have a few more ideas that I want to make with it! This was my Control Freaks Mini Catalog Swap card.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Orchid Oasis cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Real Red was embossed with the Timber Embossing Folder and added to the front.
The 2-1/4 x 3 Crumb Cake cardstock was cut with the Nested Essentials Die and added behind the top of a 2 x 2-1/2 Early Espresso.
Some 1/4 x 3-3/4 strips of Crumb Cake cardstock were added crisscross to the front of the barn door and the overage cut off. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two cow heads with different faces were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Pecan Pie and Light Bubble Bath Blends. They were punched with the Cow Builder Punch and added to the barn door opening with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Black and White Gingham was looped a few times and added to the top with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
The greeting was stamped with Orchid Oasis Ink on Basic White and cut with the banner from Nested Essentials Die, then added over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A Rustic Metallic Dot was added for the doorknob.
