Saturday Blog Hop – I Think I Love You

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “I Think I Love You”.  We’ll be showing off Valentines, of course!

ADORING HEARTS

I’ve combined the Adoring Hearts Dies with the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set on today’s card for a little different look!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Flirty Flamingo cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock is embossed with the Basics (Crosshatch) Embossing Folder (online exclusive).
  • A 1 x 4 piece of Most Adored Designer Paper is added to the front.
  • The hearts were cut from Real Red cardstock, Flirty Flamingo cardstock and Most Adored DSP using the Adoring Hearts Die and Embossing Folder.  They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The outline image from Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set was stamped with Real Red Ink on Basic White cardstock and the greeting with Flirty Flamingo Ink.  It was punched with the Hexagon Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of pink Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio were added to the front.

CCMC802 – Detailed Dogwood

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.   It’s a pretty color challenge this week.

DETAILED DOGWOOD

Of course, the obvious choice would be to use the beautiful Painted Lavender Bundle with these colors in the gorgeous designer paper!  But I wanted to think outside the box a little and go in a different direction with the Detailed Dogwood Stamp Set.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Highland Heather was embossed with the SAB Level 2 embossing folder Softly Sophisticated.  The center medallion was cut out with the largest Thoughtful Expressions Dies.  It was added to the base card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The dogwood image from Detailed Dogwood Stamp Set (SAB Level 2) was inked with Highland Heather and Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Write Markers, then stamped on Basic White cardstock.  It was watercolored with Highland Heather, Lost Lagoon and Gorgeous Grape Stampin’ Write Markers and the Water Painters, then hand-cut and added inside the opening, but hanging over slightly.  A single flower in the large image was done the same way.
  • Happy Birthday from Very Best Occasions was stamped with Gorgeous Grape Ink on Lost Lagoon cardstock and cut with the label Thoughtful Expressions Die.  It was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Purple Fine Shimmer Gems were added to the background.

 

 

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen purple dogwoods, but it was a different look using this SAB set and I really like how it turned out!  OK, go check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary

CS125 – Hot Air Balloon

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  This month the theme is “NEW” cards…let’s use some of the new products in the Jan-Apr Mini Catalog and SAB Catalog on our cards!

HOT AIR BALLOON

I’ve used the Hot Air Balloon bundle and a SAB Embossing Folder on today’s card!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Lemon Lolly cardstock was embossed with the Level 2 Softly Sophisticated Bundle’s Embossing Folder, then colored in the upper right corner with Daffodil Delight Ink using a Blending Brush to give some depth behind the balloon.
  • The hot air balloon was stamped with Flirty Flamingo Ink, then Lemon Lolly and Blueberry Bushel Inks for the stripes and basket. They were cut with the Hot Air Balloons Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The inside banner and cloud were cut with the Dies from Basic White.
  • The outside banner was cut with the Die from Lemon Lime Twist.
  • Some Flirty Flamingo Baker’s Twine Three Pack was wrapped in circles and added behind the greeting banner, then adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensional.
  • Three Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots were added to the background.

IM316 – Painted Lavender

Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration challenge is a pretty lavender print!

 

PAINTED LAVENDER

The Perennial Lavender Suite of products is definitely one of my favorites in the Mini Catalog!  I love the postage dies and the pretty lavender options with both stamps and dies!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Highland Heather cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was cut with the largest Perennial Postage Die, then embossed with the Layered Florals Embossing Folder, and added to the front.
    • The 1 x 3-1/2 and 1 x 4-1/2 pieces of Perennial Lavender Designer Paper s were criss-crossed on the front.
    • The branch from Painted Lavender Dies was cut from Lost Lagoon cardstock and two sets of lavender flower stocks from Basic White cardstock.  The flower stocks were colored with Highland Heather and Lost Lagoon Inks using a sponge dauber, then added to the front.
    • The greeting from Perennial Postage was stamped with Lost Lagoon Ink, then cut with the small label die in Thoughtful Expressions (LOVE those label dies!).  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the stems.
    • Two large Purple Shimmer Gems were added to the DSP.

Saturday Blog Hop – Mini Celebration

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Mini Celebration”.  This week we are featuring our favorite January – April 2024 Mini Catalog Bundles!

CUTEST COWS

Well, this Cutest Cows Bundle was the last to go on my original preorder.  I was up and down on whether or not I wanted to get it.  BUT…it has become one of my favorites!  I’ve used it on two swaps, several challenges, and still have a few more ideas that I want to make with it!  This was my Control Freaks Mini Catalog Swap card.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Orchid Oasis cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Real Red was embossed with the Timber Embossing Folder and added to the front.
  • The 2-1/4 x 3 Crumb Cake cardstock was cut with the Nested Essentials Die and added behind the top of a 2 x 2-1/2 Early Espresso.
  • Some 1/4 x 3-3/4 strips of Crumb Cake cardstock were added crisscross to the front of the barn door and the overage cut off.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two cow heads with different faces were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Pecan Pie and Light Bubble Bath Blends.  They were punched with the Cow Builder Punch and added to the barn door opening with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Black and White Gingham was looped a few times and added to the top with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
  • The greeting was stamped with Orchid Oasis Ink on Basic White and cut with the banner from Nested Essentials Die, then added over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A Rustic Metallic Dot was added for the doorknob.

CCMC801 – Flight & Airy

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.   It’s a fun sketch challenge this week.

FLIGHT & AIRY DESIGNER PAPER

Yep…I love the Flight & Airy DSP and I’m using it again!  The watercolor bird images are just SO pretty!  I’ve reserved one sheet for just cutting out images…but I know I’ll be ordering more packages as Sale-A-Bration freebies!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Boho Blue cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock is added on front.
  • Three 1 x 3-1/2 strips of Flight & Airy DSP were added to the background.
  • A 2-1/2 x 4-1/2 piece of Basic White cardstock was colored with Boho Blue Ink in the center and along the edges using a Blending Brush and added to the front.
  • The bird, branch and flowers were cut from the Flight & Airy DSP and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 2 piece of Boho Blue cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots were added to the background.
  • Some Wink of Stella was added to the flowers and the back of the bird for some shimmery goodness!

This Detailed Dogwood stamp set is one of the Level 2 Sale-A-Bration selections and I wanted to make a card without the main dogwood branch image.  I also ended up using two other Sale-A-Bration Level 1 items…the greeting in Heartfelt Hellos and the Opaque Faceted Gems on this card!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic Whie cardstock was stamped with the Detailed Dogwood branch image along the bottom in Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green several times overlapping each other.
  • Hello from Heartfelt Hellos was stamped with Memento Black Ink above the branches.
  • Two dragonflies from Detailed Dogwood stamp set were stamped with Azure Afternoon Ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut, then added to the card.
  • The coral Opaque Faceted Gems were added to the branches along the bottom and the copper Opaque Faceted Gems were added to the bodies of the dragonflies.

Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration challenge is some fun bee decorated cookies!

 

BEE MY VALENTINE

This is such a fun bundle…aren’t these faces just the cutest?

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Daffodil Delight cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
    • A 2 x 5-1/4 piece of Bee Mine Designer Paper was added to the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock, then added to the front.
    • Three circles were punched from Crumb Cake cardstock with the 2″ Circle Punch (Online Exclusive).  They were stamped with the hive image in Crumb Cake Ink.  They were adhered to the front, the center one with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The greeting was stamped at the top with Real Red Ink.
    • The bees were stamped with Daffodil Delight Ink for the body and Memento Black Ink for the stripes, wings, antennas and faces on Basic White cardstock.  They were punched with the Bee Builder Punch and assembled, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Two red Adhesive Backed Hearts & Flowers were added next to the greeting.
    • The wings have Wink of Stella applied to them.
