Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards. This month the theme is “Tis the Season” cards!

NIGHT DIVINE

I made this for my mom’s Christmas cards this year. She always sends out nativity type cards, and I love this year’s Stampin’ Up! Night Divine Dies! It was quick and easy to mass produce!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Balmy Blue cardstock was added on top.
The stable was cut from Copper Clay cardstock using the Night Divine Dies.
Behind the stable is a 3-1/4 x 3-3/4 piece of O Holy Night Designer Paper, then adhered to the front.
The nativity silhouette was cut from Basic Black cardstock with the Night Divine Dies and adhered on the DSP with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Merry Christmas from Stars at Night Stamp Set was stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the center portion of the Stars at Night label die. It was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensional.
A star from Stars At Night Dies was cut from Gold Foil Paper and added to the stable top.
A gold Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequin was added to the center of the star.

IM308 – Handcrafted Elements

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges. We have a winter color combination to inspire you this week!

HANDCRAFTED ELEMENTS

I haven’t used this die set much, so wanted to use it on today’s inspiration card! I added in the greeting and pine branches from Christmas Classics stamp set. I needed a pop of the Berry Burst color at the top, so I used my Berry Burst Stampin’ Blend and colored in the silver Simply Element Trim! The silver peeks thru and coordinates with the silver Specialty Paper! Cool!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pool Party cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Misty Moonlight was stamped in the upper right corner with the pine branch from Christmas Classics and Misty Moonlight Ink several times.
- A 4 x 4 piece of Snowflake Magic Specialty Designer Paper was torn diagonally and added to the bottom left corner.
- The ornament was cut from Basic White cardstock with the dies and the oval from Pool Party cardstock. They were adhered together and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The silver Simply Elegant Trim was colored with the Berry Burst Dark Stampin’ Blends, tied in a bow and added to the top of the ornament with a Mini Glue Dot.
- The greeting was stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink on 3/4 x 4 piece of Berry Burst cardstock and the end torn at an angle to match the DSP.
- Some silver Festive Pearls were added to the centers of the fleurs on the ornament.

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Christmas Bundle

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Favorite Christmas Bundle”! I had a real hard time choosing! Normally I’d go with a snowman, but no snowmen this year! Plus, there are so many bundles that I “like” this year…there really wasn’t one that stood out for me! I chose a bundle that actually went on my list first…Sparkling Snowflakes! I used this bundle for my Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip Swap a few months ago during preorder time.

SPARKLING SNOWFLAKES

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lost Lagoon cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was stamped with the Sparkling Snowflakes in Lost Lagoon and Fresh Freesia Inks diagonally going across the front.
It was embossed with the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder and added to the front.
A 3 x 3 piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock was added to the front.
The 2 x 4 piece of Snowflake Magic Specialty Designer Paper was added on top (love the shimmer and shine!)
On Basic White cardstock, the snowflake was stamped with Fresh Freesia Ink, then punched with the 2″ Circle Punch (Online Exclusive). It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Sparkling Snowflakes was stamped with Lost Lagoon Ink on 3/4 x 2-3/4 Basic White cardstock and the ends cut at an angle.
The snowflake edge of the Sparkling Snowflakes Punch was tucked under the greeting.
A Lost Lagoon gem from the Faceted Gems Trio Pack was added to the center of the snowflake.

CCMC794 – Joy of Noel

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you in the United States! Hope you get to enjoy time with family or friends! It is also my son’s birthday, so we’ll get to celebrate that as well! I’ll have 12 here this year as my oldest son’s family is out of town to his wife’s parents. This holiday, along with my family, I’m grateful and thankful that I have recovered as well as I have from a serious illness last year.

But it’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. We have a pretty color combination for you to try!

JOY OF NOEL

I challenged myself to use these colors to make a Christmas card! I think it turned out really well!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lost Lagoon cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White is added on front.
A 2 x 5 piece of Snowflake Magic Specialty Designer Paper was cut with a banner end, then added to the front.
The Deckled Circle was cut from Pebbled Path with the Dies.
Two evergreen branches were cut with the Joy of Noel Dies from Lost Lagoon cardstock.
The branch was stamped with Pebbled Path Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Lost Lagoon, Copper Clay and Pebbled Path Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Joy of Noel Dies. The branch and evergreens were added to the bottom of the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Merry Christmas from Merry & Bright was stamped with Copper Clay Ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut, then added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Copper Clay In Color Jute Trim was tied in a bow and added to the stems with a Mini Glue Dot.

CS116 – Magical Meadow

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards. This month the theme is “Tis the Season” cards!

MAGICAL MEADOW

This didn’t turn out exactly like I was thinking it would in my head…but it does give a different look for this stamp! I wanted the look of a continuous snowbank under the trees.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lost Lagoon cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock, the trees from Magical Meadow Stamp Set were stamped on each side in Lost Lagoon Ink and the greeting with Memento Black Ink.
The 1-3/4 x 3 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the trees again in Lost Lagoon Ink, then cut with a banner at the bottom.
A 1 x 1 piece of Snowflake Magic Specialty Designer Paper was cut with a banner at the bottom, then added under the Basic White Banner, and adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals between the trees so the snowbanks looked continuous.
A couple silver Faceted Gems Trio Pack were added at the bottom.

IM307 – Merriest Trees

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges. Look at this wonderful, decorated cookie to inspire you!

MERRIEST TREES

I was surprised how well Lost Lagoon worked as the background for my tree! Almost looks like a blue spruce we have in our yard! The Snowflake Magic Specialty Designer Paper is a hidden gem, too! I love this silvery white background!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lost Lagoon cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Snowflake Magic Specialty DSP was added on top (love the silvery look!)
- The base of the tree was cut from Pecan Pie cardstock with the Merriest Trees Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The pink Sheer Ribbon Combo was looped back and forth, then adhered to the background with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The tree was stamped on Basic White cardstock with Lost Lagoon Ink base and White Craft Ink for the details. Cut with the Merriest Trees largest tree die and added to the front over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The tree was decorated with small light pink and gold Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins and large dark pink Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio.
- The greeting from Merriest Trees was stamped with Berry Bliss Ink on 1/2 x 3-1/2 strip of Bubble Bath cardstock and the ends flag trimmed. It was added across the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

SOOO pretty and sparkly! For a class, I’d use the ornaments that are with the stamps/dies and stamp them in Berry Bliss, Bubble Bath and Crushed Curry Inks. Saturday Blog Hop – Colorful Leaves

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Colorful Leaves”…the trees around central Ohio have been just STUNNING with their bright fall colors this year!

PICK OF THE PATCH

I’ve used that plaid again from Them Bones Designer Paper for today’s card! I think I’ve just about used it up!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is Pumpkin Pie cardstock, score at 5-1/2 and fold to form base card.
A 1-3/4 x 5 piece of Them Bones Designer Paper was added on the left side.
The Basic White cardstock was cut with the Deckled Circles Dies. It was stamped with the tree from Pick of the Patch stamp set in Early Espresso, then leaves in Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Real Red randomly. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The pumpkin was stamped with Pumpkin Pie Ink and an Early Espresso stem, then hand-cut and added to the circle with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
The greeting was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on 1/2 x 2-5/8 Basic White cardstock, then adhered to 5/8 x 2-3/4 Early Espresso cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins were added to the background and circle.

CCMC793 – Rustic Crate

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. We have a fun sketch challenge for you this week!

RUSTIC CRATE

I’m surprised how much I actually like this color combination! The Poppy Parade and Pretty Peacock mellow out the Wild Wheat color! I flipped the sketch on the side for my card.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pretty Peacock cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Poppy Parade cardstock is embossed with the Distressed Tile Embossing Folder and added to the front.
Two 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 Wild Wheat striped DSP and two 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 Pretty Peacock polka dot prints from Garden Walk DSP were added to the front offset as shown.
The Deckled Circle was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Die and added to the center of the blocks with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The poinsettia cluster from Rustic Crate stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Light Poppy Parade and Dark Real Red, Old Olive Combo Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Dies and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Christmas Classics stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 2-1/2 Wild Wheat cardstock and end cut at an angle. It was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the front.
Some gold Festive Pearls were added to the center of the poinsettias.
