CCMC594 – My Meadow

Happy Thursday! It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. We have a fun sketch for you to try this week!

I decided to use my new My Meadow stamp set from the Occasions Catalog! I love the style this artist uses…and since I have the other two sets, I needed this one, too. Surprisingly, the cards I’ve made with all three sets look different, even with the artistic style being the same! Yeah! I love this little gazebo!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 2-7/8 x 4-3/8 piece of green polka dot is from the Best Dressed Designer Paper.
It is layered on a 3 x 4-1/2 piece of Early Espresso cardstock and adhered towards the right side of the base card.
On the 2-3/4 x 3 piece of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped in the following order.
- The background water with Pool Party Ink, full and stamped off.
- The front ground with Crumb Cake Ink, full and stamped off.
- The gazebo with Early Espresso Ink, then filled in the roof with Dark Crumb Cake Blends so you couldn’t see the “water”.
- The tree trunks with Early Espresso Ink.
- The tops of the trees with Granny Apple Green, full and stamped off.
- The flowers randomly along the bottom with Mango Melody Ink.
The Whisper White cardstock was added to a 2-7/8 x 3-1/8 piece of Early Espresso cardstock, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Happy Birthday from Label Me Bold is stamped with Mango Melody and hand-cut, then layered on a Classic Label punched from Early Espresso. It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Mossy Meadow Linen Thread from Magnolia Lane Ribbon Pack was tied in a bow and added to the tree with a Mini Glue Dot.

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Occasions Stamp Set

Happy Saturday! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! It goes by quickly, doesn’t it? We still have one more Christmas celebration with my oldest son’s family next Saturday because they were out of town this year! So, ours is an extended holiday!

But, the Occasions Catalog is coming soon (January 3 is the first day to order!), so this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop is showcasing our “Favorite Occasions Stamp Set”!

DRESSED TO IMPRESS

I’ll be honest…there are WAY more than just one of my favorites in the new Occasions Catalog! But, I went with the one that caught my eye first! It’s called Dressed to Impress! I love the lipstick, shoes and perfume in it AND the stamp set has matching dies, plus extras like this little label!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Lovely Lipstick cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White is embossed with the Tufted Embossing Folder.
A 1 x 5-1/4 strip of Best Dressed Designer Paper across the bottom.
The perfume bottle was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Purple Posy cardstock and colored with Wink of Stella. It was cut with the die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The roses were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock and colored with the Lovely Lipstick and Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the dies and added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Hello Fabulous is stamped with Lovely Lipstick Ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut with the label die, then added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Peaceful Poppies Sequins were added on front.

CCMC559 Petal Palette

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary’s Color Challenge made me look thru my designer paper stash. I combined Petal Palette stamp set with the plaid design in the Under the Mistletoe Designer Paper…it gives it a really “country” feel. This time of year I’m always on a mission to use some of my retiring stamp sets a few more times.

I love the roses in Petal Palette! They are small enough to color easily. And I love some of the extra dies in the Petals & More Framelits, like this lacy trim one!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Smoky Slate cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of the plaid design in Under the Mistletoe DSP.
A 2 x 4 band of Smoky Slate cardstock was added towards the top.
The lacy trim piece was cut with the Petals & More Framelits from Real Red cardstock and added to the Smoky Slate band.
The roses were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock and colored with the Real Red Stampin’ Blends, the leaves were watercolored with the Lemon Lime Twist Marker.
Best Wishes was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
The vine piece was cut with the Petals & More Framelits from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and tucked under the Smoky Slate piece a little. The Roses were popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Snow Friends & Tin of Tags

Merry Christmas!

Here’s my Christmas card for this year, I made about 60 of them! Again, I went with a Crumb Cake and Real Red combination…it just goes so well with the white Snowman! And I always do a snowman or snowflake theme every year! I wanted a more modern, stylized snowman look for my card this year and I think I accomplished that! I had about 4 versions before I settled on this one.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
Stamp the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock with the greeting from Tin of Tags with Real Red Ink, and then emboss with the Snow Flurry Embossing Folder.
Cut a 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, then cut it in half lengthwise with a curvy pattern so you get two pieces approx 3/4 x 4. Adhere one to the bottom of the Crumb Cake cardstock.
Cut the Snow Friends Framelit from Whisper White, the hat from Basic Black and adhere to front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Punch the heart with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch from Red Glimmer Paper and adhere on snowman.
Cut a 1/8″ strip of Red Glimmer Paper, add to hat and trim off excess.

Oh So Succulent & BLOG CANDY!

Hurray! I’ve finally had a chance to use my new preorder products. With my dad having quadruple bypass surgery unexpectedly last week, I have been back and forth to the hospital.

But…today I get to share a card I made with the awesome new set, Oh So Succulent and matching Succulent Framelits! It is also my turn to offer the Create with Connie and Mary HOLIDAY BLOG CANDY. Here are the details…

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Garden Green cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to form base card.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 1-1/2 x 4 strip of Succulent Garden Designer Paper was placed along the bottom.
A 1/2 x 4 strip of Garden Green cardstock was placed across to hide the seam.
A piece of 1/8″ Gold Ribbon was added over the strip and adhered to the back to secure.
The succulents from Oh So Succulent Stamp Set were stamped with Calypso Coral, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz and Sweet Sugarplum Inks on scrap Whisper White and cut with the Succulents Framelits. They were added to the top of the Whisper White layer.
The greeting from Oh So Succulents was stamped with Garden Green Ink under the succulents.
Some Gold Sequins were added to the front for a little bling!

For my card today, I combined a LITTLE sneak peek of a product in the Occasions Catalog with the cute stamp set, Merry Mice!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Warmth & Cheer Designer Paper Stack.
Across the front is a 1 x 5-1/4 strip of Pacific Point, stamped with the greeting in Merry Mice with Black Stazon Ink.
Along the bottom of that is a 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Silver Glimmer Paper…love how it sparkles!
The mouse is stamped with Black Stazon on Whisper White and watercolored with the AquaPainter and NEW WATERCOLOR PENCILS!!! They are REALLY nice and smooth to use! Love them!
The Oval was cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelit (largest one). It is placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Inspired by a Christmas Song

But, it’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week’s theme is “Inspired by a Christmas Song”! This was such a FUN theme! I could think of a dozen different ways to go. Ended up with my card that could be two different songs…Joy to the World…or Hark the Herald Angels Sing. Both are favorite songs of mine! Plus, I thought the sheet music designer paper pattern in This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper worked perfectly! (I wonder how many of us used the same print?) lol!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of the sheet music from This Christmas Specialty DSP.
Across the front is a 1 x 5-1/4 strip of a coordinating print in This Christmas Specialty DSP.
A large oval was cut from the green plaid design in…yup…This Christmas DSP, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The angel from Wonder of Christmas was stamped with Black Stazon on Very Vanilla cardstock and watercolored with the AquaPainter and Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, Blushing Bride Ink Pads. She was hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The wings were colored with the Clear Wink of Stella.
Several small stars were punched from Gold Glimmer Paper from the Sprinkles Punch and added randomly on the front.

So usually I don’t go for mixing a lot of DSP patterns…but in this case I do think it works! What do you think?
