CCMC694 – Merry Snowflakes

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week’s color challenge is completely up to us!  What is our FAVORITE Christmas Color Combination?  I could have gone with the traditional red and greens…we have MANY shades to use.  But my holiday cards always have snowflakes or snowmen on them and I tend to choose blues for my cards.

MERRY SNOWFLAKES

Isn’t this a pretty color combination?  Misty Moonlight, Fresh Freesia and Coastal Cabana has become this year’s favorite!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Fresh Freesia cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 2-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of In Color 6×6 DSP was added to the right side.
  • The 3 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was cut with the Basic Border curved Die and added to the left side overlapping the DSP.
  • The snowflakes were cut with the Stitched Snowflakes Dies from Misty Moonlight, Fresh Freesia and Coastal Cabana and adhered with Monoadhesive Glue along the curve.
  • Merry Everything greeting was stamped with Coastal Cabana Ink on 3/4 x 3-3/4 strip of Basic White cardstock and the left side angled.
  • A 1/2 x 3-1/4 strip of Coastal Cabana cardstock was added under the greeting strip, then both added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Playing with Patterns Resin Dots were added to the center of the snowflakes and to the background!

Creatively Simple 14 – Christmas

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Christmas” and we each create a simple card every week using that theme!  We are definitely on the countdown to Christmas now!

I love all the different pieces to the Merriest Moments Bundle.  It has the stamp set, the outline die, the detail die AND an embossing folder that all interact with each other!  On this card, I featured the embossing folder with a white-on-white effect!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was embossed with the Merriest Frames Embossing Folder.
  • The rectangle was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Merriest Frames Die.  It was stamped with the JOY greeting in Memento Black and popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The poinsettia from Merriest Moments stamp set was stamped with Real Red Ink twice and Shaded Spruce once on Basic White cardstock, then cut with the Merriest Frames Dies.  They were layered together and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A Champagne Rhinestone was added to the center.

Saturday Blog Hop – Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree

This month our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop is featuring blog hop themes from popular Christmas carols.  This week is the song “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”…but we can use any types of trees on our cards.

WHIMSICAL TREES

I’ve had this tree and background sitting in pieces on my desk for probably a month.  I had started a card with it and then changed my mind.  So, this challenge encouraged me to get the pieces out again and finish the card!  Of course, I pulled the colors from the Whimsy & Wonder Designer Paper!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Misty Moonlight cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  •  The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Blushing Bride cardstock was added on top.
  • A 1 x 4 strip of Whimsy & Wonder DSP was added to the bottom.
  • A Wonderful Snowflake was adhered to the upper left corner.
  • The solid tree in the Christmas Trees Dies was cut from Polished Pink cardstock and the garland from Rose Gold Metallic Paper.  It was adhered together, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Stitched Snowflakes were cut from Soft Sea Foam and Misty Moonlight cardstocks, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Tis the Season from Christmas to Remember (I love this type of greeting image!) was inked with Misty Moonlight and stamped on Basic White cardstock, then hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Many Genial Gems were added to the center of the snowflakes and the background!

Creatively Simple 13 – Thankful

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Every month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Thankful” and we each create a simple card every week using that theme!  It’s SO appropriate for this time of year!

CHRISTMAS SEASON

Who remembers doing one page wonders?  Where you create an entire sheet of randomly stamped images to create “designer paper”.  We had to do that a lot since we didn’t have our wonderful selection of designer papers like we do now!  That is how I created my background below.  The entire 8-1/2 x 11 sheet was stamped, then cut up into sections…in this case, 4 x 5-1/4 pieces to make 4 cards.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Garden Green cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The one-sheet wonder 8-1/2 x 11 Basic White cardstock was randomly stamped with the Christmas Season Stamp Set, then trimmed to a 4 x 5-1/4 piece that was added on top.  Colors used were Garden Green, Old Olive, Shaded Spruce, Real Red, Soft Sea Foam, and Early Espresso Inks.
  • A 3/4 x 4 piece of Real Red cardstock was stamped with the Heartfelt Wishes greeting in Early Espresso Ink, then adhered on the front towards the top.
  • A trio of Holiday Rhinestones were added in the background.

Creatively Simple 12 – Thankful

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Thankful” and we each create a simple card every week using that theme!  It’s SO appropriate for this time of year!

This Mini Catalog’s leaf set, Gorgeous Leaves, are truly that…beautiful detailed leaf dies and stamps!  I’ve combined them on my card along with the Heartfelt Wishes greeting!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Soft Succulent cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was stamped off several times with the cluster stamp in Soft Succulent Ink towards the bottom right side.
  • The maple leaf was stamped with Pumpkin Pie and Bumblebee Inks on Basic White cardstock, then cut with the Intricate Leaves Dies.
  • The large maple leaf was cut from So Saffron cardstock with the Dies, leaving in some of the pieces.  The narrow leaf was cut from Cinnamon Cider cardstock with the Dies.  Both were added to the background with Tombow Multipurpose Glue, then the small leaves placed on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Soft Succulent cardstock, then hand-cut close to the letters.  It was added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of In Color Jewels in the Soft Succulent color were added to the background.

Achievers Blog Hop – November 2021

Our Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip Achievers get together each month for a Blog Hop! I’m blessed with great customers and downline who helped me earn the next trip in 2022!  Unfortunately, due to Covid concerns, they have cancelled the actual cruise…however, I know Stampin’ Up! will have some fun surprises for us that week!  Our theme this month is ANYTHING CURRENT!

ANGELS OF PEACE

I made a dozen or so of this card for my mom to mail out for her Christmas cards this year!  I love the soft colors in the Whimsy & Wonder Designer Paper and thought the angel would be a perfect fit!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Soft Succulent cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was stamped in the center with the Angels of Peace in Memento Black Ink.
  • She was colored with Soft Succulent, Petal Pink, So Saffron, Ivory and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends.
  • Two 2/3 x 5-1/4 pieces of Whimsy & Wonder Designer Paper were added on each side, then added to the front of the base card.
  • The greeting from Angels of Peace was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Blushing Bride cardstock, then punched with the Double Oval Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two Rhinestone Jewels were added next to the greeting.

IM203 – Sparkle of the Season

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have a pretty table décor arrangement for our inspiration piece!  I decided to use the wreath for the inspiration for my card.  I’m SO happy I bought these Seasonal Swirls Dies…love how easy they are to create paper wreaths!

 

 

SPARKLE OF THE SEASON BUNDLE

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Blackberry Bliss cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
    • The 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock was embossed with the Timber Embossing Folder, then Soft Suede Ink sponged across the highlights of the woodgrain.
    • The evergreen wreath from Seasonal Swirls Dies was cut from Pear Pizzazz cardstock and the leaf wreath from Mossy Meadow cardstock, then adhered together on the front of the Crumb Cake cardstock.
    • Some extra leaves were cut from Pumpkin Pie cardstock and adhered to the wreath.
    • The greenery was punched with the Symmetrical Stems Border Punch from Blackberry Bliss cardstock and tucked around the wreath.
    • Grateful from Sparkle of the Season was stamped with Blackberry Bliss Ink on 1/2 x 2-1/4 Basic White cardstock, then adhered on a 5/8 x 2-3/8 piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock with the end cut at an angle.  It was added to the wreath with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The Black & White Gingham Ribbon was colored with the Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Marker and tied in a bow, then added to the wreath with a Mini Glue Dot.
    • Some Brushed Metallic Dots were added to the wreath.

Saturday Blog Hop – Thanksgiving/Gratitude

In honor of Thanksgiving this week in the US, our Saturday Blog Hop them is Thanksgiving or Gratitude!  I know I have many blessings to count!  This year is a little sadder because my dad isn’t here, but I am thankful my mom is in good health.  Right now she is back visiting with her sister, so our Thanksgiving table won’t quite be the same as in year’s past.

PRETTY PUMPKINS BUNDLE

I made these matchbox boxes for friends at a stamping retreat that I attended way back in September, but I haven’t shown them on my blog!  They are filled with a Rice Krispies Treat and some Green Apple Cow’s Tails…yummy!  I’m hoping to make some more for our Thanksgiving table this year.  Even though I used the retired SAB Be Dazzling Paper for the pumpkin, you could easily replace that with the Gold/Rose Gold Metallic Paper in the Annual Catalog and they would be just as pretty!  And I LOVE that Blackberry Beauty Designer Paper…it is gorgeous in person!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is a standard sliding matchbox made from Thick Basic White cardstock.
  • On top the 2-1/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Blackberry Beauty DSP is added to a 2-1/2 x 3-3/4 piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock, then adhered.
  • A 1-1/4 x 8-1/2 piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock was wrapped around the outside for the Belly Band, secured with Tear & Tape in the front and trimmed.
  • The pumpkin from Detailed Pumpkins Die was cut from Be Dazzling Paper (but use the current Gold/Rose Gold Metallic Paper for the same effect).  The leaf was cut from Gold Foil Paper.  Both were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Sweets & Treats was stamped with Blackberry Bliss Ink on Basic White cardstock, then punched with the Double Oval Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A gold Brushed Metallic Dot was added to the background.
