CCMC687 – Merriest Moments

Hello! Another Thursday has rolled around…these weeks go by pretty fast, don’t you think?  That means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week it is a fun sketch for you to try!

MERRIEST MOMENTS BUNDLE

There are SO many fun dies and an embossing folder that goes with this bundle!  But I love the poinsettias, too!  This sketch seemed to point to using a DSP background (but you don’t have to…), so I focused on the poinsettia.

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Soft Succulent, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • Two 1/2 x 4-1/2 strips of Tidings of Christmas red striped DSP were added behind the 3 x 5-1/2 piece of greenery print in the same DSP, then adhered to the base card.
  • A 5/8 x 4 piece of Rose Gold Glitter Metallic Paper was added to the DSP towards the right side.
  • The large and small poinsettias from Merriest Moments stamp set were stamped with Cherry Cobbler Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Merriest Frame Dies.  Three small holly leaves were stamped with Soft Succulent Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the dies, too.  All were assembled together, then added to the Rose Gold strip with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Season’s Greetings was stamped with Evening Evergreen Ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut, then added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of yellow Holiday Rhinestones were added to the center of the poinsettia.

Delicate Baubles – Dracula

Are you getting tired of seeing these cards done with solid arabesque shape in the Delicate Baubles Dies yet?

You can see my GNOME, SANTA, GINGERBREAD, ELF, PENGUIN, SNOWMAN, WITCH and MICKEY MOUSE by clicking on those links!  After doing the witch, I was thinking of what else I could make for Halloween…so I came up with Dracula!  He’s a little more scary than I intended…but I think my oldest grandson will love it!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Fresh Freesia cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Cute Halloween DSP was cut at an angle and then adhered to a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White.
  • A 1/4 x 5 strip of Basic Black was adhered across the seam and then trimmed.  The Basic White layer was added on top of the base card..
  • The solid arabesque shape was cut with the Delicate Baubles Die from Fresh Freesia cardstock, Real Red cardstock and Basic Black cardstock.  The top of the Basic Black was cut off to a point for his hair.  The Real Red bauble was trimmed for his cape collar with the black showing at the bottom.
  • The bow was cut with the bow die in the Delicate Baubles set and trimmed, then added to the collar with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • The eyes are 3/4″ circles of Basic White cardstock cut in half,  the irises are 3/8″ circles of Real Red, the pupils are 1/4″ circles of Basic Black.  The nose is 3/8″ circle of Fresh Freesia cardstock, popped up.  The ears are 3/4″ circle cut from Fresh Freesia cardstock and cut in half.  The mouth is 3/4″ circle from Basic Black cardstock cut in half.  The eyebrows were strips cut by hand from Basic Black and the teeth cut by hand from Basic White cardstock.  (The circles in the Gingerbread Dies will work for most of them.)
  • Happy Haunting from Banner Year is stamped with Fresh Freesia Ink in the upper right corner.  The bat from Banner Year is stamped in Memento Black Ink in the upper left.
  • Dracula was assembled and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • White Chalk Pen was used on his eyes and nose.
  • A Red Rhinestone was added to the center of the bow for his cape.

I’m really happy with how he turned out!!!  Stay tuned…yep…I have MORE coming!

Delicate Baubles Dies – Mickey Mouse

OK…here’s another “ornament” using the Delicate Bauble Dies…in particular, the solid arabesque shape.  Have I sold you on these dies yet?  Did you see my GNOME, SANTA, GINGERBREAD, ELF, PENGUIN, SNOWMAN and WITCH done with the same shape?

For my Disney lovin’ fans, here is MICKEY MOUSE!  And, don’t you LOVE that greeting?  It fits SO perfectly with the Disney theme!  It’s from the Christmas to Remember stamp set!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was added on top.
  • The 2 x 4 piece of red stripe Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper was added to the bottom, then a 3/4 x 4 of green polka dot added over top.
  • The Delicate Bauble arabesque shape was cut with the die from Real Red.  The top portion was cut from Basic Black and the bottom portion cut from Bumblebee cardstock.  A 1/8 strip of Basic Black cardstock was added at the bottom of the bauble.
  • Two 3/4″ circles were cut from Basic White cardstock and added to the middle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The holly from Merriest Moments Stamp Set was stamped with Garden Green Ink and the berries with Real Red Ink.  They were cut with the Merriest Frames Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Christmas to Remember stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White c/s.  I used the Frightful Tags Die to cut the label, but any label shape would work.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Four Red Rhinestones were added next to the greeting.

 

I have several friends that are crazy over Disney and Mickey Mouse.  I’m sure they would LOVE to get this card for Christmas!  And, if you are planning a trip to Disney, wouldn’t these be fun bag or luggage tags?

October 2021 – Achievers Blog Hop

Our Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip Achievers get together each month for a Blog Hop! I’m blessed with great customers and downline who helped me achieve the next trip!  Unfortunately, due to ongoing world-wide Covid issues, the actual Cruise trip is cancelled for 2022.  However, my husband and I plan on using the incentive money to extend our next trip in 2023 (hoping that I earn it!)  The theme this month is ANYTHING CURRENT!

GORGEOUS LEAVES BUNDLE

The leaves in Ohio are JUST beginning to change colors a little.  It is late for them to be changing, but seems like they do change quickly once they start turning.  Here are a few of the colors I’ll find by looking out my back door!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Cinnamon Cider cardstock is embossed with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder, then inked around the edges with Cinnamon Cider Ink.
  • The 2-1/4 x 3-1/2 Stitched Rectangle was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Die, then stamped off with the Gorgeous Leaves woodgrain image in Crumb Cake and the speckle stamp in stamped off Cinnamon Cider Ink.  The edges were sponged with Cinnamon Cider Ink.
  • Two 3/4 x 2 pieces of Cork Paper were placed behind the Stitched Rectangle.
  • The 12″ of Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon was adhered to the card, then the Stitched Rectangle element added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The leaves were cut from Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie with the Intricate Leaves Die.  The small leaf was stamped with Bumblebee Ink and cut with the Intricate Leaves Die and popped up with Dimensionals over the other leaes.
  • Much Gratitude from Heartfelt Wishes stamp set was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on a 3/4 x 4 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, then sponged around the edges with Cinnamon Cider Ink.
  • A Brushed Metallic Dot was added to the small leaf.

Delicate Baubles Dies – Witch

OK…here’s another “ornament” using the Delicate Bauble Dies…in particular, the sold arabesque shape.  Have I sold you on these dies yet?  Did you see my GNOME, SANTA, GINGERBREAD, ELF, PENGUIN and SNOWMAN done with the same shape?

Now I’ve made a WITCH!  So fun!  Can you guess what I used for the nose?  A triangle would have worked, but I had this die set sitting on my desk and thought I’d try it!  The jagged edges and “cuts” worked perfectly.  See what it is below.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Black cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate cardstock was added on top.
  • The Boo pattern in Cute Halloween DSP was cut to 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 and added towards the left side.  A 3/4 x 4 piece of the polka dot pattern in Cute Halloween DSP was added across the bottom front.
  • The witch face was cut from Granny Apple Green with the arabesque solid shape from the Delicate Baubles Dies.  Another one was cut from Basic Gray cardstock and hand-trimmed to make her hair.  The hat was the top of one cut from Basic Black cardstock.
  • The hat band is a 1/8 strip of Rich Razzeberry.  Rectangles of Daffodil Delight and Basic Black were cut for the buckle.
  • The eyes are 1/4″ circles of Basic Black and the mouth is a 3/8″ circle of Basic Black.  The eyebrows are strips of Basic Black.
  • The nose is the top of the tree cut from the Christmas Tree Die!  I cut off the trunk and it was slightly curled at the end and popped up on the face with Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
  • The greeting from Frightfully Cute was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the upper right corner.  The witch face was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Genial Gems were added around the greeting AND one added for the wart on her chin!

 

Love it!  I really think the nose just MAKES this face…and the WART, of course!  Yep…I have a couple more ideas floating around in my head…will see how soon I can get them out on paper!

Saturday Blog Hop – Halloween Favors

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop theme is “Halloween Favors”.  I used Stampin’ Up!’s Tombstone box for my Stamp Club project last month and it was quite popular!

FRIGHTFULLY CUTE BUNDLE

I was SO happy that I did get this Halloween bundle, even though I said no more Halloween sets!  lol!  I just can’t resist!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The Tombstone Box was assembled according to directions.
  • Cute Halloween DSP: 1 x 3 (stripe) was added to front of tombstone above the “foot” of the tombstone.
  • Black & White Gingham Ribbon: 3” & 8”, adhere shorter piece at bottom of DSP.  Tie a bow with longer piece and adhere with Mini Glue Dot
  • Basic White c/s: 3 x 3, stamp two bats and greeting with Memento Black Ink and moon with Bumblebee Ink.  Cut moon with Frightful tags Die and hand-cut bats and add moon to front right top of tombstone.  Cut greeting with ¾” Circle.  Adhere two bats over cobweb and moon with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Black Glitter Paper: 2-1/2 x 2-1/2, cut cobweb with Frightful Tags Die. Adhere in upper left corner.
  • Pumpkin Pie c/s: 2 x 2-1/2,  cut label with Frightful Tags Die, stamp spider with Memento Black Ink towards left side.  Add circle greeting (cut above) with Stampin’ Dimensional to right side.  Add label to front of box slightly over DSP and cobweb with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Cute Stars: Add 2 to label and 1 to background.
  • Fill with your favorite treats!  Four snack sized Twix bars fit perfectly!  These are SO nice and sturdy!

Delicate Baubles – Penguin

Yes!  I’m back with another idea for using the Delicate Baubles arabesque solid die!  This time a PENGUIN!  (Did you miss out seeing my GNOME, SANTA, GINGERBREAD and ELF?)

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Real Red cardstock is on top.
  • A 3-1/4 x 4 piece of Basic Black cardstock was centered on the front.
  • The 2-1/2 x 5 piece of black check Pattern Party Host Only Designer Paper was added down the front.
  • The greeting from Penguin Place stamp set was stamped with Real Red Ink on a 1/2 x 4 strip of Basic White cardstock and adhered to the front.
  • The arabesque Delicate Bauble shape was cut from Real Red, Basic Black and Basic White cardstock.  (NOTE:  You can get two penguins from the red and black just by using the opposite side of the bauble).
  • Trim the Basic Black cardstock into a point by hand (make up a template first) for his face (or use the retired large Heart Dies if you have them).
  • Trim the Real Red cardstock across the top.  Adhere the Basic Black to the top of the Basic White, then the Real Red over that.
  • Two Basic Black 1/2 circle eyes and two Blushing Bride 1/2 circle cheeks (I used the Gingerbread Dies or use the retired 1/2 circle punch).  Add to front with Mini Glue Dots.  Add highlights to the eyes with White Chalk Pen.
  • Cut down the nose punched with the Ice Cream Cone Punch from Daffodil Delight cardstock.
  • Adhere the penguin ornament on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Add two Red Rhinestones next to the greeting.

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  The color challenge this week seems quite appropriate for the Fall and Halloween season…but our Challenge Team could use anything they wanted!

SPARKLE OF THE SEASON

I recently purchased the Sparkle of the Season Bundle and am SO happy that I did!  I love the variety of different wreaths and accessories you can add to them!  I have several to share with you over the next couple weeks!   The colors were perfect for a fall wreath!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Evening Evergreen cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was added on top.
  • A 1×4 piece of Evening Evergreen In Colors 6×6 DSP was added to the bottom with a 1/4 x 4 strip of Pumpkin Pie cardstock to hide the seam.
  • Thankful for You from Sparkle of the Season stamp set was stamped with Evening Evergreen Ink.
  • The leaf wreath was cut from Evening Evergreen cardstock and some leaves from Bumblebee cardstock with the Seasonal Swirls Dies.  They were adhered to the front with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.
  • Two pumpkins were cut with the dies from Pumpkin Pie cardstock and added with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two leaf branches were stamped with Bumblebee Ink on Basic White and cut with the branch die.  All were assembled and added to the front of the card with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Black & White Gingham Ribbon was colored with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends, then tied in a bow and added to the wreath with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • Five orange Artistry Blooms Sequins were added to the wreath and another one added next to the greeting for a little bling!
