Saturday Blog Hop – Winter Birthday

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Winter Birthday”. I have to admit, I make up the themes for our Saturday Blog Hops and I have no idea what I was thinking when I decided on that theme back in early December!

PARADISE PALMS

One of my favorite bundles in the new January-June 2022 Mini Catalog is the Paradise Palms bundle! Since we have a home in Florida, we spend most of the winter down here where it is nice and warm instead of cold and dreary Ohio! I thought it would be fun to send a warm and tropical birthday card to my daughter-in-law who has a February “winter” birthday!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pool Party cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was added on top.
A 1 x 4 piece of Sunshine & Rainbows striped DSP was added across the front.
The 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Calypso Coral was cut with the Scallop Contour Die, then some speckles were “splashed” in the background by tapping a paint brush of watered-down White Craft Ink Refill against a hard surface and onto the cardstock. Let dry.
The large palm tree and ground were cut from Basic Black with the Palms Dies and added to the Calypso Coral piece.
A 1/4 x 2-3/4 strip of Pool Party cardstock was added across the front.
Happy Birthday from Paradise Palms was stamped with Basic Black Ink on Basic White cardstock, then punched with the Double Oval Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the palm tree for “coconuts”.

CCMC699 – Hello Ladybug

Hello! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This is a fun sketch this week, so we hope you try it!

HELLO LADYBUG

The shape of the focal point lends itself to this cute little ladybug, don’t you think? I used the fun Sunshine & Rainbows (free SAB) for the background.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Magenta Madness cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The Sunshine & Rainbows DSP was cut from two different patterns to 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 and two 1 x 3-3/4 pieces.
The DSP was added to a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party cardstock.
Some Linen Thread was wrapped around the Pool Party layers twice and tied in a bow.
The Hippo & Friends Die shape was cut from Basic White cardstock and stamped with the Hello Ladybug greeting in Memento Black Ink and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. (I bought these dies JUST for all the labels in them!)
A 1/4 x 3-1/2 strip of Granny Apple Green was added across the top of the label.
The ladybug in Hello Ladybug was stamped with Memento Black Ink onto Basic White, then with Magenta Madness for the body. It was hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two yellow In Color Jewels were added to the Granny Apple Green strip.

Creatively Simple 20 – Get Well

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Get Well”, and we each create a simple card every week using that theme!

I thought Stampin’ Up!’s new Honeybee Home stamp set would be a great Get Well card. I love all the little bees in this set! These hollyhocks remind me of my grandma’s house when I was growing up. She always had a row of them against the garage!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Mossy Meadow cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 2-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of SAB Daffodil Afternoon Designer Paper was added down the center.
The 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Basic White was stamped with the hollyhocks image in Mossy Meadow Ink across the front, staggering the height. They were colored with Light So Saffron, Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.
The greeting from Inspired Thoughts was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the open area. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The bee was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock, then colored with Light Pool Party for the wings, Daffodil Delight for the body. It was cut with the Honeybee Blooms Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the background.

IM211 – Girl Robot Punch Art

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have a fun picture of Valentine robots!

ROBOT PUNCH ART

Mary tried to trick me. I hadn’t purchased the cute little robot set in the mini catalog yet…been debating on getting it for my grandkids’ Valentines. But then I looked closer and thought I could do some robot punch art and get the look of the Inspiration Challenge! This little girl robot is for my granddaughter, Quinn!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party cardstock.
- Three clouds were punched with the Cloud Punch from Basic White Cardstock and added to the background.
- A 1 x 4 piece of Sunshine & Rainbows DSP was added along the bottom.
- The body of my robot is the Stitched Triangles (I just got these and can’t wait to use them more!), the head is a Stitched Rectangle, and the legs/arms from Hippo & Friends Dies. All were cut from Magenta Madness cardstock, adhered and added to the front of the card.
- The hearts were cut using the row of hearts die in the Sweet Heart Dies from Real Red cardstock and were added to her body and for her ears with Mini Glue Dots.
- The narrow slits were cut with the Hippo & Friends Dies from Pool Party cardstock and added along the bottom of her body.
- The hands/feet were 1/8″ strips of Basic Black cardstock added to the front.
- The eyes are 3/8″ Circles punched from Basic White cardstock and 1/4″ Circles punched from Basic Black cardstock. The mouth is half of the 1/4″ Circle. All were added with Mini Glue Dots to her head. Tiny slivers of Basic Black cardstock were used for her eyebrows.
- The White Chalk Pen was used for highlights in her eyes and on the heart buttons.
- The greeting from Banner Year was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 3/4 x 1-3/4 piece of Real Red cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Isn’t this the CUTEST punch art robot? I was jumping up and down after I finished it because I was SO excited! I can’t wait to duplicate some of the others, but I still may get that Nuts & Bolts stamp set for the greetings! Saturday Blog Hop – Celebrating Sale-A-Bration

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Celebrating Sale-A-Bration”. Last week we showed off our favorite SAB stamp set with the “Loving Sale-A-Bration” blog hop. This week we are showing off our favorite PRODUCT, not including stamp sets, from the SAB collection!

RAINBOW OF HAPPINESS

Rainbow of Happiness is a bundle in the new January-June 2022 Mini Catalog, but the coordinating designer paper is a FREE Sale-a-Bration Level 1 Selection! I love the patterns and bright colors in the DSP, so have to choose it as my favorite product!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pool Party cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 2-7/8 x 5-1/4 piece of the Navy rainbow pattern was added to the left side of the base card and the reverse side was cut to 1 x 5-1/4 and added towards the right side, leaving a small gap.
A 3/4 x 2-3/4 piece of Pool Party cardstock was added to the front.
Some Silver Simply Elegant Trim was wrapped in a circle and added over the Pool Party piece.
The greeting from Rainbow of Happiness was stamped with Night of Navy Ink on Basic White, the hearts with Magenta Madness Ink, then cut with the Stitched Rectangles Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CCMC698 – Cactus Cuties

Hello! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. We have a pretty color combination this week for you to try!

CACTUS CUTIES

I went back and forth on which new stamp set to use but decided the Cactus Cuties would be fun! I’m thinking of these cacti in ALL different colors! I took my colors from the Abstract Beauty Designer Paper I wanted to use.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Just Jade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Blushing Bride cardstock was embossed with the Stripes Embossing Folder.
A 2 x 5-1/4 piece of Abstract Beauty DSP was added down the right side with a 1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Night of Navy cardstock to hide the seam.
The Hippo & Friends label die was cut from Basic White cardstock and added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The vase from Cactus Cuties was stamped with Night of Navy Ink and punched, the cactus with Just Jade Ink and cut out. They were added to the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Just a note was stamped with Night of Navy on a 1/2 x 3 strip of Blushing Bride cardstock and end cut at an angle. It was added across the cactus on the front.
Three flowers were punched from Blushing Bride cardstock and added with Mini Glue Dots.
A trio of Polished Dots were added in the background.

CS19 – Get Well

I used the annual catalog set, Artistically Inked, for today’s Simple Challenge! The flowers and abstract images make one-layer cards pretty easy to make! I use this greeting a LOT when sending off Get Well cards and decided to use it as my focal image.

NOTE: Wow…I blew it! Somehow this greeting from a retired set called Thoughts & Prayers ended up in my Artistically Inked stamp set box. But I still love this card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Polished Pink cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the watercolor swoosh image in Fresh Freesia Ink in the bottom right and top left. The swirl flower was stamped with Polished Pink Ink and the leaves with Soft Succulent.
The greeting from retired Thoughts & Prayers stamp set was stamped with Soft Succulent Ink in the center.
A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the background.

IM210 – Daffodil Daydream

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! Isn’t this a beautiful daffodil cake, perfect for a spring wedding or birthday?

DAFFODIL DAYDREAM

Another new set in the Jan-June Mini Catalog is the beautiful Daffodil Daydream Bundle! I love the stamp images, but the dies are pretty awesome as well! For this card, I opted to use just the stamps with the die to cut it out, and then the cute little butterfly dies.

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was embossed with the Gingham Embossing Folder and added on top.
- Two 1 x 3-1/4 pieces of Daffodil Afternoon Designer Paper was added on the right side towards the bottom.
- The daffodil cluster was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock, then colored with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Daffodil Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The Happy & Heartfelt greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink and cut with the Stitched Rectangle Die, then added across the stems with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow, then added under the greeting.
- The butterfly was cut from Pale Papaya cardstock and the body from Flirty Flamingo cardstock and added to the background with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.

I really love how this card turned out, especially the details of the Stitched Rectangle around the greeting and the Linen Thread. OK…check out what Mary did with the Inspiration Monday Challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!
