SUOC155 Cookie Cutter Christmas

OK….here’s another sneak peek of a Holiday Catalog stamp set! Our theme this time on SUO Challenges is “Cute and Cuddly”. I just think this sweet teddy bear in the upcoming Christmas Cookie Cutter stamp set is as cute and cuddly as you can get! I knew immediately that I wanted to use it! And…since grandbaby #3 is coming next week (and it’s a boy!), I needed to make this one a baby boy card!

This also shows off the new Cable Knit Embossing Folder! Since my mom knits and my mother-in-law crochets, I can’t wait to make them a stack of cards to use with their gifts! Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Mint Macaron, folded in half.
On top the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White is embossed with the Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder (it is extra thick!)
I thought the pattern in Blooms & Bliss Designer Paper looked like a knit pattern, so cut it with the Layering Circle Framelits and adhered to one of the Scalloped Circles cut from Dapper Denim.
A 1 x 4 panel of Mint Macaron was stamped with the “for Baby” greeting in B.Y.O.P. with Dapper Denim ink and adhered across the front.
The teddy bear in Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set was stamped with White Craft Ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and immediately heat embossed with White Embossing Powder, then punched with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.
The face was stamped with Black Stazon on top, although the eyes were a little too light because it was a slick surface. I ended up punching circles with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch from Basic Black cardstock and adhering them over the stamped eyes, then using the retired White Gel Pen to highlight them (WHY did we get rid of those?)
I added the bear with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the circles and the circles to the base card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, I cut the little bow tie from the same DSP and added it with a Rhinestone Jewel in the center.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Swinging on a Star

This month on Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hops, we plan on getting you to sing along with some “oldies, but goodies’. This week our song is “Swinging on a Star”…cards featuring a star theme! Plenty of star images in the catalog, so it was hard to settle on which one to use! I went with a bright birthday theme!

Here are the details:

The base is5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Watermelon Wonder cardstock, folded in half.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White was embossed with the Stars embossing folder.
I used the Star Framelits to cut the Cucumber Crush Polka Dot Star (In Color Designer Paper) and the Gold Metallic Star.
The Yay! greeting from Confetti Celebrations was stamped with Watermelon Wonder Ink on Whisper White, then punched with Star Punch.
The stars were put together with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added to the front.
The It’s Your Day greeting from Confetti Celebrations was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Watermelon Wonder cardstock, the punched with the new Classic Label Punch.
Some Rhinestones were added to the background!

Here’s what I came up with…I took the sketch very literally! lol!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Crushed Curry cardstock, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
Several different shapes of Festive Birthday Designer Paper were cut for the background layers.
The flower from Flourishing Phrases was stamped once with Crushed Curry Ink and once with Melon Mambo Ink on Whisper White cardstock then hand-cut out. The leaves were stamped with Cucumber Crush Ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out.
The flower was assembled together with Stampin ‘Dimensionals and added to the front.
A Rhinestone Jewels sits in the center for a little sparkle and a few more were scattered in the background!
The greeting Hello from the stamp set was stamped with Tempting Turquoise Ink.

Star of Light quilt

Mary and I have been working on Star of Light Christmas Cards as a holiday special for our August Mini Session subscribers! But, while playing with the set, I noticed that this image looks like the pattern on a hand-made quilt that my husband’s grandmother made us for a wedding gift and wondered if it would work! I think it did! What do you think? Look like a quilt?

I went with Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate for my quilt pattern. I love those colors for a bedroom…so fresh and clean looking! Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Daffodil Delight, folded in half.
Across the front is a 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 strip of Neutrals Designer Paper Pack in the Smoky Slate color.
A 1/4 x 5-1/2 strip of Gold Glimmer paper adds a little shimmer…I thought the Silver Glimmer looked lost on it.
On the 3-1/2 x 3-3/4 rectangle of Whisper White, the star image was stamped with Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate Inks. TIP: Measure and put a pencil mark at the half way point on each side, then line up the tips of the stars with them and each other.
Layer onto a 3-5/8 x 3-7/8 piece of Smoky Slate cardstock. Add to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Add the Shine greeting from Star of Light stamp set with Memento Black Ink.

Isn’t that fun? I love when I can use a stamp set for a purpose other than the intended use. Now I can use this set for any occasion throughout the year!

Birds & Blooms Thinlets

Saturday was my son and daughter-in-law’s 5th wedding anniversary! We got to watch Quinn for them when they went out to dinner and a movie on Friday night! Since Allie is due to have our grandchild #3 in a couple weeks, it will probably be one of the last times they get out alone together for a while! Here she is trying to help me with my phone! Isn’t she getting big?

I had this card in mind to make for them…good thing it was a fairly CAS design because I was running late getting it ready before we went over to their house! I love the little filigree birds in the Birds & Blooms Thinlets set.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Dapper Denim, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, the Linen Thread was wrapped around couple times for the “wire” they sit on.
The two birds were cut with Tip Top Taupe cardstock with the Birds and Blooms Thinlets, then added to the front.
Congratulations from Floral Phrases was stamped in the upper left corner with Dapper Denim ink.
A red glimmer heart was added above the birds.
Inside was the “love grow stronger” greeting in Dapper Denim Ink and the flourish from Timeless Texture with Tip Top Taupe Ink.
I also used the flourish on the envelope.

That’s it! A very CAS design…but I really like how it looks!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Walking on Sunshine

This month on Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hops, we plan on getting you to sing along with some “oldies, but goodies’. First up is the song “Here Comes the Sun” or I chose “Walking on sunshine”. There are plenty of sun-theme stamp images in the catalog, aren’t there? Here’s what I came up with using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlets and Sunshine Sayings stamp set!

I love how this turned out as I pictured in my head! Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Bermuda Bay, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 of Whisper White, a 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Neutrals Designer Paper was added.
Using the scribble stamp in Sunshine Sayings, stamp it in an arc with Daffodil Delight Ink above the Designer Paper.
The Bermuda Bay Stitched Ribbon was placed across the seam and adhered in the back.
Cut the top of the flower from Sunshine Wishes Thinlets with Daffodil Delight cardstock and add it to the inked “sun”.
Cut the word “sunshine” from Basic Black cardstock and adhere above the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals (cut the sides).
Use the small heart from the Owl Punch for the dot on the “i”.
Stamp “sending” from Sunshine Sayings on a scrap of Daffodil Delight cardstock with Memento Black Ink. Cut to size and adhere above the word sunshine.
Cut the butterfly from Bermuda Bay, add Rhinestones to the body and add to front of card.

Falling Flowers

I recently participated in a new Annual Catalog swap for the Control Freak Swappers! Here’s the swap card I created using the Falling Flowers stamp set and May Flowers Framelits. I took my colors from the Affectionately Yours Designer Paper.

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Crumb Cake folded in half.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Mint Macaron was embossed with the Petal Burst folder.
A 2 x 4 piece of Affectionately Yours Designer Paper was punched with the Triple Banner Punch, a loop of Watermelon Wonder Striped Ribbon stapled at the top and then added to the front.
The larger flower was stamped with Night of Navy Ink on Flirty Flamingo cardstock, the leaves with Night of Navy Ink on Mint Macaron and the small center with Flirty Flamingo on So Saffron cardstock, layered together and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the front. A Perfect White Accents is placed in the center.
The banner from Thoughtful Banners was stamped with Flirty Flamingo Ink on So Saffron cardstock, then celebrate was stamped with Night of Navy ink in the center. It was punched with the Duet Banner Punch and tucked partially under the banner.

CCMC418 Fresh Fruits

We have a beautiful color challenge for you this week on Create with Connie and Mary! Check it out!

Here’s what I did using the flower in Fruit Fruits!

The details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Mint Macaron, folded in half.
On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White, two 1 x 3-3/4 pieces off Blooms & Bliss Designer Paper were placed along the top and bottom.
Mint Macaron Ribbon was wrapped around the top and tied with a bow.
The Whisper White layer was adhered to a 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 Rich Razzleberry cardstock layer.
A scallop layered circle was cut from Rich Razzleberry cardstock.
The flower from Fruit Fruits was stamped with Sweet Sugarplum on Whisper White, then outlined with Rich Razzleberry. The leaves were stamped with Mint Macaron and outlined in Mint Macaron. They were placed on the Scallop Circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals and a Perfect White Accent added to the center.
Thank You from Fresh Fruits was stamped with Rich Razzleberry Ink in the lower right corner.
