Saturday Blog Hop – Christmas Tags

NOTHING SWEETER!

This week on Create with Connie and Mary our theme is Christmas Tags! I love stamping my Christmas tags every year. I add them to every gift and also the baked gifts I give our neighbors and friends! Of course, Santa has his own tags, too! Hope to continue that tradition until the grandkids get too old and recognize that they are stamped! lol! These tags have a little twist…the bottom piece folds up and tucks under the circle to hide the TO/FROM!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is of the tags are 2 x 6 Very Vanilla cardstock and scored at 1-1/2.
On top above the score line is a 2 x 4-1/2 piece of Farmhouse Christmas Designer Paper.
A coordinating DSP pattern is 3/4 x 2 and added at the top of the other DSP.
The Scallop Topper Punch was punched at the top thru all the layers of Very Vanilla and DSP.
Some Merry Merlot/Copper Reversible Ribbon was tied thru the opening.
From Nothing Sweeter stamp set, the heart was stamped with Cherry Cobbler and the tree with Mossy Meadow Ink on Very Vanilla, then cut and embossed with the Sweetly Stitched Framelits (LOVE them! They add so much dimension!)
Those shapes were added to a 2″ Circle of Cherry Cobber or Mossy Meadow that was punched from cardstock and added to the front of the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A star and flower was cut with the Framelits from Daffodil Delight cardstock and added to the shapes. A red Rhinestone jewel is in the center of the flower for a little bling.

Here’s what it looks like with the bottom piece folded down. To/From is from the Labels to Love stamp set and was stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink. Aren’t they fun and a little different?

HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone! I am so grateful that you stop by and see my blog and for the friends that I’ve met thru stamping!

We have a fun color challenge on Create with Connie and Mary this week! Although my first inkling was to use a Christmas stamp set, since it is Thanksgiving, I went with a “fall” theme, although it is almost suitable for ANY time!

Here’s my card using Falling for Leaves bundle:

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Tranquil Tide, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
At the top is a 2-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Joyous Noel Designer Paper.
Across the DSP is a 1/4 x 5-1/2 strip of Copper Foil Paper.
The Stitched Shapes Framelit was cut from Whisper White cardstock and stamped with the Falling For Leaves stamp set greeting in Tranquil Tide Ink and popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The two leaves from Falling for Leaves stamp set were stamped with Tranquil Tide Ink on Gray Granite cardstock, then cut with the Detailed Leaves Thinlits and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

November Greek Isles Achievers Blog Hop

Time for our monthly Greek Isles Achievers Blog Hop! The theme for this month is ANY products…including those we received at OnStage! I know many of us attended (over 6700 demos!), so should have LOTS of great ideas this month! BLOOM BY BLOOM

I used the fun new set, Bloom by Bloom, that I received at OnStage for my card today! Love the retro look to this stamp set! It will be available in the Occasions Catalog in January, so you are just getting a sneak peek of the set, punch and designer paper!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Night of Navy cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 3-3/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Whisper White, the stems and leaves from Bloom by Bloom stamp set were stamped with Old Olive Ink.
The smaller flowers were stamped with Calypso Coral Ink and the centers with Night of Navy Ink.
The larger flowers were stamped on scrap Whisper White with Calypso Coral Ink, then hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The centers of the larger flowers were punched from Night of Navy with the new Bitty Blooms Punch and added with Mini Glue Dots.
The dotted flowers were stamped with Pineapple Punch Ink to fill in.
The greeting from All Things Thanks was stamped with Night of Navy Ink towards the bottom right.
The Whisper White panel was added to the front, then a 1/2 x 5-1/2 strip of Happiness Blooms Designer Paper (also NEW in the Occasions catalog), was added on top.
A bow from the 1/8′ Sheer Calypso Coral Ribbon in the annual catalog was tied in a bow and added to the stem with a Mini Glue Dot.
Finally, Rhinestone Jewels were added to the centers.

Control Freaks November 2018

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS – FARMHOUSE CHRISTMAS

I’m in the middle of getting ready for my HUGE craft show coming up on December 1st. The past few years I’ve almost sold out of everything on my table, so trying to make up even more things to sell this year! When I saw the theme for this month, I already had this HOME Frame idea in my head to make up for the craft fair, so decided to get double use out of it and use it for the Control Freaks Blog Hop!

Here’s the frame (sorry for the glare):

Stampin’ Details:

The frame has a 5 x 7 opening, so Cherry Cobbler cardstock was cut to 5 x 7 and embossed with the Tin Type Embossing Folder.
On top is a 4-1/4 x 6-1/4 Layer of Early Espresso cardstock.
A 4 x 6 piece of Wood Textures Designer Paper was added on top.
The Alphabet letters H, M and E were cut from Galvanized Metal Paper with the Large Letters Framelits and added to the wood DSP with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Boxwood Wreath Embellishment was opened up a little and tied with a bow of Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine in the Cherry Cobbler color, then added for the “O” with Mini Glue Dots.
It was placed in the frame.

I love the rustic wood look with the “metal” letters and rich Cherry Cobbler color!

Next up is a card made with Farmhouse Christmas stamp set. I used basically the same elements.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is 4 x 5-1/4 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, embossed with the Tin Type Embossing Folder.
A 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 piece of the Wood Textures DSP was cut with a flag end and added on top.
The house from Farmhouse Christmas was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, then colored with Cherry Cobbler, Bronze, and Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Farmhouse Framelit Dies.
The roof was colored with Wink of Stella to shimmer like snow. The house was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The fence was cut from Whisper White cardstock with the Farmhouse Framelit Die and then added across the front.
The bows were cut from Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper (the red) and adhered to the fence.
The greeting from Farmhouse Christmas was stamped with Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White, then cut with the Stitched Shapes Oval and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love how these turned out! And they were super simple to make, but would make a great gift for the holidays! OK…next up on the Control Freaks Blog Hop is Kelly Acheson! I know you’ll enjoy her projects, too!

IM47 – Happiness Surrounds

It’s Monday and time for another Inspiration Monday on Create with Connie and Mary! Isn’t this floral bouquet beautiful? I knew immediately what I wanted to use…the Stampin’ Up! Monthly Special set, Happiness Surrounds.

Here’s what I did with the inspiration…doesn’t it just WORK? So happy with how it turned out!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Tranquil Tide cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock added on top.
The long “vine” from Snowfall Thinlits and a couple leaves were cut from Tranquil Tide cardstock. The flowers from Crisp Cantaloupe, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry cardstock. They were layered together, then added to the “vine”.
The clear Faceted Gems were carefully colored with Basic Black Blends and added to the centers.
The greeting from Happiness Surrounds was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the open area on the right side.

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Christmas Stamp Set

This week on Create with Connie and Mary our theme is Favorite Christmas Stamp Set cards! Of course, I went with the one that I saw IMMEDIATELY in the catalog and knew I had to have…Spirited Snowmen! I’ve mentioned before that snowmen and snowflakes are always a feature on my Christmas cards. I think this one is a winner for my Christmas card this year…although there will be a lot of cutting out that snowman watching my TV shows! loll!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party, Merry Christmas from Warm Hearted Stamp Set (Host) was stamped with Poppy Parade Ink in the upper right corner, then it was embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.
A 3 x 4 piece of Whisper White was turn around the top to resemble a snowbank, with some Wink of Stella added along the top and for additional snowbanks.
Then a piece of Coastal Cabana was torn in a rough oval to form the ice pond. It is covered with Wink of Stella for some glassy sparkle!
The snowman in Spirited Snowmen stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White, then colored with Poppy Parade, Bermuda Bay, Bronze, Smoky Slate and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends. It was cut out and added to the front. Some Wink of Stella was also applied to the white areas of the snowman.

CCMC536 Peaceful Poinsettia

Wow! I’m finally back from Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage Convention. What a GREAT time! I spent a few extra days with my girlfriend and downline, Annette, and had a wonderful time! But, now it is back to reality and a LONG to-do list! lol! And, it is Thursday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!

Now, this sketch looks simple, right! WRONG! I had the most difficult time, maybe because I already had the poinsettia done and was wanting to use it. Sometimes it is better to just start from scratch!

Here’s my card using Peaceful Poinsettia Bundle:

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2 and folded so the fold is on the left side.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Under the Mistletoe Designer Paper in the green polka dot pattern.
A 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Whisper White is stamped with the Christmas Wishes greeting in Peaceful Poinsettia with Shaded Spruce Ink and added to the front.
A 1/4 x 5 piece of Real Red cardstock was placed across the front.
The poinsettia outline was cut from Real Red cardstock and the detailed poinsettia leaves from Gold Metallic Paper, then adhered together. It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The branches were cut from Shaded Spruce cardstock and Gold Metallic Paper, then added under the poinsettia.
A 2″ Circle was punched from Under the Mistletoe DSP and added under the Whisper White panel per the sketch.
