PAINTED SEASONS

I decided to use the FREE Sale-A-Bration Stampin’ Up! Painted Seasons stamp set on my card in a little different way! I love the pinecone stamp, and thought they would look great “painted” in a variety of bright Spring colors! What do you think? Isn’t this a fun birthday card to brighten someone’s day?

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Call Me Clover cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, the evergreen branches from Painted Seasons stamp set are stamped and stamped off with Call Me Clover Ink in the upper right and lower left corners.
The pinecones were stamped with Lemon Lime Twist, Poppy Parade and Grapefruit Grove Inks on scrap Whisper White and cut with the Four Seasons Framelits (available as a purchase item to coordinate with the stamp set!). They were arranged on the evergreen branches with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Wishes from Well Said Stamp Set was stamped in the center with Memento Black Ink.
Birthday from Well Written Framelits was cut from Basic Black cardstock.

SWEETEST THING

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Highland Heather cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top of the 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Whisper White, a 2 x 5 piece of Gingham Gala DSP was added to the bottom.
A piece of 1/8″ Whisper White ribbon was added across to hide the seam.
The Stitched Rectangle was cut from Highland Heather cardstock and popped up on the front.
The jar from Sweetest Thing was stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends, then cut with the Jar of Sweets Framelits and added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A couple of the embossed candies were cut from Gorgeous Grape and Daffodil Delight cardstock with the Framelits (LOVE that they have those extra in the set!)
The Happy Birthday greeting from the Sweetest Thing stamp set is stamped in Memento Black in the upper left corner.

BLOOM BY BLOOM

I used the fun new set, Bloom by Bloom, that I received at OnStage for my card today! Love the retro look to this stamp set! It will be available in the Occasions Catalog in January, so you are just getting a sneak peek of the set, punch and designer paper!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Night of Navy cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 3-3/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Whisper White, the stems and leaves from Bloom by Bloom stamp set were stamped with Old Olive Ink.
The smaller flowers were stamped with Calypso Coral Ink and the centers with Night of Navy Ink.
The larger flowers were stamped on scrap Whisper White with Calypso Coral Ink, then hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The centers of the larger flowers were punched from Night of Navy with the new Bitty Blooms Punch and added with Mini Glue Dots.
The dotted flowers were stamped with Pineapple Punch Ink to fill in.
The greeting from All Things Thanks was stamped with Night of Navy Ink towards the bottom right.
The Whisper White panel was added to the front, then a 1/2 x 5-1/2 strip of Happiness Blooms Designer Paper (also NEW in the Occasions catalog), was added on top.
A bow from the 1/8′ Sheer Calypso Coral Ribbon in the annual catalog was tied in a bow and added to the stem with a Mini Glue Dot.
Finally, Rhinestone Jewels were added to the centers.

June 2018 – Alaska Achievers Blog Hop

I’m happy to be able to play along again this month with the Alaska Achievers Monthly Blog Hop! This blog hop is for those of us who have earned the Stampin’ Up! Alaska Incentive trip in July! Wow! Only a few more weeks until we go! Our theme this month is new catalog products! You are at my blog, Connie Babbert, and you’ll continue around the blog hop by clicking on the link under my name in the bottom list. When I was creating my Rooted in Nature flower for last Monday’s post (SEE THAT BLOG POST HERE!), I got to thinking that it would be gorgeous done in red for a poinsettia! (A lot of you mentioned the same thing to me!)…so I created the same card with new colors for a Christmas Poinsettia using the small and large Rooted in Nature leaves!

Since a poinsettia is more oblong shaped than round, I moved the leaves around a little when adhering so they were more oval.

Stampin’ Details:

The base of the card is 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 2-3/4 x 5-1/2. The card is folded in half, then the front panel is folded back on itself.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Under the Mistletoe Designer Paper was added to the inside panel.
To create the flower, I started by stamping 7 of the large leaves and 6 of the smaller leaves with Cherry Cobbler Ink on Poppy Parade cardstock. They were cut out with the Framelits.
I punched a 2-1/4″ circle and covered it with Snail adhesive, then began with the larger leaves and formed the background poinsettia in an oval shape.
On the smaller leaves I placed the adhesive on the back and layered over the large ones. I curled all the petals slightly for a natural look.
In the center are three large Gold Faceted Gems.
The flower was added to the front panel, hanging over the edge.
For the actual “leaves” of the poinsettia, I stamped 5 leaves with Shaded Spruce Ink on Shaded Spruce cardstock, then cut out with the Framelit and tucked them under the poinsettia on the front panel.
Finally, the greeting from Stylish Christmas stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 3/4 x 3-3/4 strip of Whisper White, the end was flag cut and tucked under one of the petals.
Inside, I stamped the second greeting from Stylish Christmas with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, then cut with the Stitched Labels Framelits (LOVE those!)

Isn’t that a gorgeous, BIG poinsettia. I can see these adorning the top of a gift or box, too!

Alaska Achievers Blog Hop

I’m so happy to be hopping with the Stampin’ Up! Alaska Incentive Trip Achievers! This blog hop is for those demonstrators who have earned this fabulous trip! The past six months I’ve been busy with a big house move, our SU Incentive trip to Thailand and then knee replacement surgery, PLUS getting my new studio cabinets designed and installed and all my creative goodies back in their proper place! Whew! But, I did this Fall project using Painted Harvest Bundle and was saving it for the next time I could play along with this blog hop! It will fit in a standard 8 x 10 frame for a little Home Decor this fall!

Here are the details:

The base is 8 x 10 Crumb Cake cardstock.
The FALL letters were cut out of the center of a 6×6 sheet of Wood Textures Designer Paper. Then it was added to a 6-1/4 x 6-1/4 layer of Early Espresso Cardstock (TIP: the cut out portion is hidden behind the sunflower layer…great way to save on cardstock or DSP!)
A 3-3/4 x 7-3/4 layer of Whisper White was stamped several times with the flower image in Painted Harvest in the colors of Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry. The leaves with Lemon Lime Twist and Always Artichoke Inks. The centers with Early Espresso Ink. The background dots in Crumb Cake Ink
The edges were sponged with Crumb Cake Ink and the greeting stamped with Early Espresso Ink.
On a scrap piece of Whisper White, four more flowers were stamped, along with four sets of leaves and two acorns. Only the center petals of two of the flowers were hand-cut, then placed on top of the full cut flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The leaves were punched with the Leaf Punch and tucked around the flowers.
The two acorns were hand-cut an added under one of the flowers.
A double strand of Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the center of one flower. A Gold Faceted Gem was added to the center of the other flower.
