Saturday Blog Hop – Red & Green

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Red & Green…Christmas in July”. I always have fun using a leaf image to make a flower! The leaf in the new Artistic Leaves stamp set worked perfectly for my poinsettia for Christmas!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 3 x 5 piece of Take a Bow Designer Paper (just sold out) was added to the front.
The greeting was stamped on Basic White cut with the Party Banner Die. Joy from Jolly Holly Stamp Set was stamped in Shaded Spruce Ink. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Five of the single leaf in Artistic Leaves were stamped on Basic White cardstock with Shaded Spruce Ink, the filled in with the Shaded Spruce Light Stampin’ Blends. They were hand-cut.
The single leaf was stamped five times around in a circle with Real Red Ink, then colored with Light Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends. It was hand-cut.
Another five leaves were stamped individually with Real Red Ink on Basic White cardstock, then hand-cut and added over the circle of red leaves.
The leaf circle was added first to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then the single red leaves on top with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The green leaves were tucked under the poinsettia with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of large Drusy Adhesive Backed Embellishments were added to the center of the poinsettia.

Creatively Simple 14 – Christmas

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Christmas” and we each create a simple card every week using that theme! We are definitely on the countdown to Christmas now!

I love all the different pieces to the Merriest Moments Bundle. It has the stamp set, the outline die, the detail die AND an embossing folder that all interact with each other! On this card, I featured the embossing folder with a white-on-white effect!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was embossed with the Merriest Frames Embossing Folder.
The rectangle was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Merriest Frames Die. It was stamped with the JOY greeting in Memento Black and popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The poinsettia from Merriest Moments stamp set was stamped with Real Red Ink twice and Shaded Spruce once on Basic White cardstock, then cut with the Merriest Frames Dies. They were layered together and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A Champagne Rhinestone was added to the center.

Maui Achievers Blog Hop – December 2020

Our Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip Achievers get together each month for a Blog Hop! I’m blessed with great customers and downline who helped me achieve both Maui trips that will be held in May 2021 (hopefully!) December’s blog hop theme is ANYTHING CURRENT!

SNOWMAN SEASON AND WARM HUGS

I should know better by now…I’ve been married for 41 years! Early in December, I ask my husband if he needs me to make gifts for any of his co-workers or reports, and he says no. Then the week before Christmas, he decides that, yes, he does need “just a few gifts”, and I’m scrambling! It isn’t as if they are expensive…just more of a Thinking of You at Christmas type gift. This year I decided to use the Mini Coffee Carriers we have in the Mini Catalog (they are 50% off now!) I also made one for my UPS driver and my Nail Tech.

I used a combination of stamps and dies. Inside the decorated Mini Coffee Cup are some Lindt chocolates and a gift card. The other side holds a Bailey’s Mini Irish Cream bottle.

Stampin’ Details:

The outside of the Mini Coffee Carrier is covered with Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper (SO happy this will carry over…I love the small prints!)
The snowman from Snowman Season is stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and colored with Light Basic Black, Dark Real Red, Light Shaded Spruce, Light Pool Party and Dark Pumpkin Pie Blends. He was punched with the Snowman Builder Punch.
The holly leaves from Poinsettia Dies were cut/embossed from Old Olive and Mossy Meadow cardstock and added in the background.
The snowflakes from So Many Snowflakes Dies were cut from Whisper White cardstock.
The stitched circle was cut from Real Red cardstock with the Warm Wrap Dies
The octagon from Warm Hugs was stamped with Real Red Ink and cut with the dies, and the greeting stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink on Pear Pizzazz and cut with the Layered Circles Dies. They were adhered together with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A Red Rhinestone Jewel was added next to the greeting.
The 3/8″ Real Red Sheer Ribbon was looped and added behind the greeting circles.
For the lid of the Mini Coffee Cup, I used the same cardstock and ink colors and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere to the top. There is a Red Rhinestone on top of the Christmas tree.
The Mini Coffee Cup wrap is cut from Heartwarming Hugs DSP and Real Red cardstock with the Wrap Dies..
The Bailey’s Irish Cream is placed in a Mosaic Cello Bag and tied with the Real Red Sheer Ribbon.
The top of the Mini Coffee Carrier is dressed up with some Metallic Mesh, tied with 3/8 Mossy Meadow Striped Ribbon.

I hope they like their little gift! I know my UPS driver really loved his…I’m sure he could use a nice cup of coffee or milk with Bailey’s after a full day of delivering packages! Make sure to grab these products while they are available…many are available at CLEARANCE prices!

June 2018 – Alaska Achievers Blog Hop

I’m happy to be able to play along again this month with the Alaska Achievers Monthly Blog Hop! This blog hop is for those of us who have earned the Stampin’ Up! Alaska Incentive trip in July! Wow! Only a few more weeks until we go! Our theme this month is new catalog products! You are at my blog, Connie Babbert, and you’ll continue around the blog hop by clicking on the link under my name in the bottom list. When I was creating my Rooted in Nature flower for last Monday’s post (SEE THAT BLOG POST HERE!), I got to thinking that it would be gorgeous done in red for a poinsettia! (A lot of you mentioned the same thing to me!)…so I created the same card with new colors for a Christmas Poinsettia using the small and large Rooted in Nature leaves!

Since a poinsettia is more oblong shaped than round, I moved the leaves around a little when adhering so they were more oval.

Stampin’ Details:

The base of the card is 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 2-3/4 x 5-1/2. The card is folded in half, then the front panel is folded back on itself.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Under the Mistletoe Designer Paper was added to the inside panel.
To create the flower, I started by stamping 7 of the large leaves and 6 of the smaller leaves with Cherry Cobbler Ink on Poppy Parade cardstock. They were cut out with the Framelits.
I punched a 2-1/4″ circle and covered it with Snail adhesive, then began with the larger leaves and formed the background poinsettia in an oval shape.
On the smaller leaves I placed the adhesive on the back and layered over the large ones. I curled all the petals slightly for a natural look.
In the center are three large Gold Faceted Gems.
The flower was added to the front panel, hanging over the edge.
For the actual “leaves” of the poinsettia, I stamped 5 leaves with Shaded Spruce Ink on Shaded Spruce cardstock, then cut out with the Framelit and tucked them under the poinsettia on the front panel.
Finally, the greeting from Stylish Christmas stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 3/4 x 3-3/4 strip of Whisper White, the end was flag cut and tucked under one of the petals.
Inside, I stamped the second greeting from Stylish Christmas with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, then cut with the Stitched Labels Framelits (LOVE those!)

Isn’t that a gorgeous, BIG poinsettia. I can see these adorning the top of a gift or box, too!

Reason for the Season in Pink!

This was one of the cards we did in a Holiday Catalog class a couple months ago that I thought I’d share now! Today I need to spend in my studio and get some things done for the next few weeks! lol! I love the soft colors and silvery shimmer on this one!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White.
On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Pink Pirouette, the Merry Christmas greeting from Reason for the Season was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink in the lower right corner.
A 1 x 5 strip of the silvery DSP in the Neutrals Pack was adhered across the center.
The poinsettia flower outline was stamped twice with Smoky Slate on Whisper White , then the insides with Pink Pirouette and Pear Pizzazz colors. The inside of the second Pink Pirouette one was cut out and added over the base one with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
In the center, a trio of small Pearls were placed.
Some Silver Thread was wrapped around my finger in loops, then added to the back of the Poinsettia with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then adhered to the front. It adds just the right amount of sparkle!

This was one of the most popular cards in the class. I love the non-traditional colors, but would be beautiful in red and green, too!

Reason for the Season

I don’t think I shared one of the cards I did for the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip Achievers for the Holiday Catalog using Reason for the Season! I embossed the Poinsettia with Gold Embossing Powder. And as I’ve said before, I love the color combination of Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake…the gold bling is just a bonus!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Cherry Cobbler, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock.
Along the left side is a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Winter Wonderland Designer Paper.
Across it is a 1-1/2 x 4 strip of Gold Metallic Paper with a 3/4 strip of Cherry Cobbler on top of it.
Merry Christmas from Reason for the Season was stamped with Cherry Cobbler above the horizontal layers.
The poinsettia from Reason for the Season was stamped with Versamark and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder, then hand-cut out. It is added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Gold Sequins were scattered on the front for a little bling!

This is a very easy card to mass-produce for your Christmas cards this year and it will mail flat without any extra postage! I wish you could see how much the Gold Metallic Paper and the Gold Embossing make it shine!

SUOC136 Reason for the Season

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is our Favorite Holiday Colors. It actually could be any upcoming holiday, so I choose to feature traditional Christmas colors. Although I love the non-traditional colors, red and green truly speak to me about the season. I also think Poinsettias feature the Christmas holiday for me. So I combined the two for my design this time!

I love the Square Pillow box (better get it soon…it is NOT being carried over to the new Spring Catalog!). I’ve decorated it for Halloween, Fall and now Christmas! Don’t you LOVE the glittery poinsettia…so pretty in real life! I also used the greeting from Christmas Tagables…a stamp set that you can only see online. I love it!

SUOC136 Reason for the Season Poinsettia

Here are more details:

The base Square Pillow Box is cut from Crumb Cake cardstock, then stamped with the Hardwood Background Stamp with Crumb Cake ink.
A 1-3/4 x 10 belly band of red striped Home for Christmas DSP was wrapped around the Pillow Box and secured in the front.
The large petal from the Festive Flower Builder Punch was punched from Real Red Glimmer Paper 8 times and the smaller center punched twice. It was adhered to a 1-1/2″ Circle of Real Red.
The center was pierced and a Vintage Brad placed in the center to hold all the pieces together.
The leaves were stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink on Garden Green, then punched with the large petal from Festive Flower Punch. They were spaced around the glitter poinsettia. The flower was added to the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, the greeting from Christmas Tagables (online only) was stamped with Tuxedo Black on Very Vanilla and punched with the Decorative Label Punch. It is popped up under the flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

OK…that’s it! Love making these cause they are so quick with the punch!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Traditional Christmas

It’s Saturday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! We are featuring traditional Christmas colors for this week’s hop! Check out these fun ideas from our Design Team!

To me, poinsettias are Christmas! I love seeing them all over the place, especially the red ones. I wish I could have one (or more!) in my home, but my CAT loves to eat leaves off any real plant. Since I believe I’ve heard that poinsettias are poisonous to small animals, I haven’t had any around on display. Because poinsettias are very traditional, I used Reason for the Season this week. This idea could also be used as a stand-along tag if you needed an idea for those!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Mossy Meadow cardstock (my favorite green this year!).
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, embossed with the Woodgrain folder.
A 2 x 3-1/4 strip of Merry Moments DSP was punched at the top with the Ornate Tag Topper punch. Some Thick Cherry Cobbler Twine was tied thru the hole. It was attached to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Reason for the Season stamp set poinsettia outline was stamped (twice) with Black Archival Ink, then the petals with Real Red and leaves with Old Olive. An AquaPainter was used to add more Real Red and Old Olive colors in the images. The full image was cut, then just the center portion of the second one was cut, then adhered together with a Stampin’ Dimensional. It was placed on the tag with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Peace be with you from the same stamp set was stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink on a 3/4 x 1-1/2 strip of Whisper White and cut into a flag end, then tucked under the poinsettia. It is adhered with another Stampin’ Dimensional.
In the center of the Poinsettia is a few drops of the Gold Dazzling Details and adds a little sparkle!
