CCMC251 Summer Silhouettes

It's Thursday…and time for the Create with Connie and Mary challenge!  We have a fun sketch for you today!  I loved it!

 

 

I had thought of going a couple different ways with this…but ended up using the Summer Silhouettes stamp set for my card.  Boy…am I going to MISS my Lucky Limeade!  Only a couple more weeks to use it!

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, folded in half.
  2. I stamped the lattice image from Summer Silhouettes in Tangerine Tango along the right side as the sketch shows and adhered the 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Whisper White to the front.
  3. I cut a 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 piece of Whisper White and stamped the leaves and stems from Summer Silhouettes with Lucky Limeade across it.  I added the flowers of Tangerine Tango.  I layered it on a 3 x 4 piece of Basic Black and popped it up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  4. I colored the Rhinestone Jewels with a Black Sharpie and added them to the base of the flower stem.  Don't they POP off the page?
  5. I punched the Decorative Label Punch from Tangerine Tango cardstock.  On top I added a Basic Black Scallop Oval Punch.
  6. On top of that I stamped the Especially for You from Made for You (retiring!  Page 44 of the big catalog in case you missed this great greeting set!) in Black Stazon on Whisper White and punched with the Large Oval Punch.
  7. The greeting was adhered to the front with a Stampin' Dimensional under the left side and regular Snail on the right side.

Rubber Ducky Baby Shower Invitation

I made the Baby Shower invitations for my daughter-in-law, Beth.  She is due June 23 with our FIRST grandchild and we can hardly wait!  The theme for her shower is rubber ducks…too cute!  They don't want to know the sex of the baby, so the room right now is done with gray walls…they will add the appropriate colors after the baby is born!  I decided to use Daffodil Delight and Basic Gray for her invitations.

 

 

Isn't it cute???  The Daffodil Delight Chevron from Parker's Patterns worked out perfectly!  And the Rubber Ducky Punch Art is just too cute!  Here are the details:

  1. The base is 5 x 7 Basic Gray.
  2. I printed the invitation on Whisper White with gray and yellow font and cut to 4 3/4 x 6 3/4.
  3. I added a 1 1/2" x 4 3/4" strip of Parker's Patterns Daffodil Delight Chevron print to the left side.
  4. The Rubber Duck I made with the Extra Large Oval Punch for the body, I took out a chunk of it with the 1" Circle Punch and used that piece for the wing, popped up with a Stampin' Dimensional.  The head is 1" Circle.  I added a 1/4" circle of Whisper White for the eye, then colored a small Pearl with Black Sharpie for the eyeball.  The Beak is the tip of the wing from the Bird Punch out of Pumpkin Pie, then the very tip of the wing I punched again with Daffodil Delight for the tuff of feathers on top of the head.
  5. I tore Marina Mist for the "pond" that the duck is sitting on and added the drops of water behind his tail with the Triple Layer Flower Punch (retired).

 

I love how it turned out.  My sister-in-law is hosting this shower, but I'm anxious to see what she does with this theme!

CCMC250 Papillon Potpourri

Time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge…we're doing a Color Challenge this week!  Check out this fun color combo!  Aren't you glad that Pool Party and Calypso Coral are staying?  I am!

 

 

And here is my card!  I love the hexagon…wish we had a punch the size to fit inside the Honeycomb folder!  I just ran the Sent with Love Designer Paper thru the Big Shot with the Honeycomb folder and then cut them out.  (OK…after I had these all done and photographed, realized that Sent with Love will be gone by the time this posts.  I'm in a rush trying to leave for Fiji in a few days as I post this, so no time to change it…sorry!  I had my weeks mixed up!  You can substitute the Epic Day This that That Designer Paper since it has these colors in it.)

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Basic Gray, folded in half.
  2. Cut a 4×4 piece of Pool Party Cored'nations Paper, embossed with the Honeycomb folder and sanded.
  3. Wrap the Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon around and adhere in the back, adhere to front of card.
  4. Emboss the Sent with Love (or Epic Day This & That) Designer Paper with the Honeycomb fold and then cut out some of the hexagon shapes and adhere inside the Pool Party piece.
  5. Stamp the image from Four Frames in Basic Gray and punch with the Decorative Label Punch.  Punch another from Calypso Coral cardstock.  Cut the Calypso Coral one in half and adhere wider than the image one.  Place on front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  6. Stamp the butterfly image from Papillon Potpourri in Calypso Coral on Whisper White, punch with the Butterfly Punch, tie Linen Thread around for the body and antenna.  Add to Four Frames image with Stampin' Dimensional under body.
  7. Stamp For You from Itty Bitty Banners in Basic Gray, cut out and add to front of card.

Summer Silhouettes

Last week I did this Oval Framelit cut out of the Apothecary Accent and used the Oh Hello stamp set (SEE IT HERE!!!)  I changed it up a little and used Summer Silhouettes for this one!

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base is Primrose Petals 4 1/4 x 11, folded in half.
  2. I added a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Old Olive Polka Dot Parade Designer Paper on top.
  3. I cut the Apothecary Accent Framelit from Primrose Petals and used the piercing tool around the edges with the template.  It was popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  4. I added a smaller oval inside cut from Whisper White, stamped the leaves and stem with Old Olive ink, and the flowers with Primrose Petals, then added it to the center with Stampin' Dimensionals. 
  5. There are small pearls at the base of the stem and in the small flowers.
  6. I stamped Thinking of You from Sweet Essentials in Old Olive and folded the edges in a banner, cut with flag ends.

 

Totally different look than the last one I did, isn't it?  Wait until you see the one I did for the Fiji Incentive Trip swap!  Coming soon!  lol!

Secret Garden

I love the color combination of yellow and black.  I decided to use Secret Garden and make up a Daffodil Delight and Basic Black flower card!

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Basic Black, folded in half.
  2. I cut a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Whisper White and stamped the large flower from Secret Garden with Black Stazon and then filled in with the small flower of Daffodil Delight.
  3. I added a 1 x 4 piece of Daffodil Delight Polka Dot Parade Designer Paper across the top, then wrapped the 3/8" Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon around and tied with a knot (this ribbon is retiring!!!)
  4. I stamped the greeting from Petite Pairs with Black Stazon on Daffodil Delight, then cut with the Hearts a Flutter Framelit.  I also cut the banner from that Framelit set from Basic Black.  Both were tucked under the DSP and ribbon.

 

Quick and easy card to pull together and you could use any color combination!  Don't you think the colors POP?  Enjoy!

CCMC259 Pleasant Poppies

It's Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  We have a sketch for you this week…my favorite!

 

 

I thought this was a little tricky, but once I decided to use designer paper from the same package, it came together pretty quickly!  My main issue was getting the greeting in there!  I decided to use the Tea For Two Designer Paper…love the quilted pattern on this piece!  I think the entire card has a vintage feel to it!

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base is 4 1/4 x 11 So Saffron cardstock, folded in half.
  2. I used a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Tea for Two Designer Paper in the quilt pattern, then a 2 x 3 1/4 piece of Lucky Limeade cardstock and Calypso Coral polka dot from the same package for the angled pieces on the front.
  3. I adhered a piece of Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon across the front, ruffling it as I adhered and cutting flag ends.
  4. I stamped the portion of Pleasant Poppies stamp with my Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade Stampin' Write Markers on a small oval framelit of Very Vanilla, then used my AquaPainter and Markers to color in the image.  I went back and added some more lines of Calypso Coral marker after it was dry.
  5. I sponged Crumb Cake Ink around the edges of the oval and placed on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  6. I stamped the word Mom from Family Reunion stamp set with Lucky Limeade ink on Calypso Coral 1/2" piece and cut a flag end, then tucked it under the left side of the Oval.
  7. Finally, I added small pearls to the inside of the flowers.

SUOC69 Oh Hello!

It's time for the SUO Challenge...this time we were challenged to use our Big Shot!  Can be dies, folders…anything that uses one of our dies or folders.  So grab yours and play along!  You know you want to!

 

For my card, I used a combination of two different framelit sets…the Apothecary Accents and the Oval Framelits.  Love the look it made framing the inside flower!  I liked this layout so well, I made up another one using this set that you'll see later!  lol!  I am also thinking that I'll use the layout for my Fiji Swap cards…I need to make 25 of them and it does use a lot of Designer Paper…so we'll see!  I have another set in mind to use for the inside.

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base is Calypso Coral (I know…it looks Tangerine Tango here!), cut to 4 1/4 x 11 and folded in half.
  2. I added a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Tea for Two Designer Paper in the green print pattern.
  3. I cut the Apothecary Accent Framelit from Calypso Coral and cut out the larger Oval Framelit inside.  TIP:  You can do both at the same time!
  4. I also cut a smaller Oval from Very Vanilla to fit inside.
  5. I pierced around the edges of the Apothecary Accent with the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack.  It is popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  6. I used Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade Markers to ink up the flower image in Oh Hello! and stamped on the Very Vanilla Oval.  It is placed inside the Accent cutout with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  7. I added a little piece of Calypso Coral Ribbon, tied in a knot with a Mini Glue Dot. 
  8. I stamped With Love from Field Flowers with Early Espresso on a 1/2" scrap of Lucky Limeade, cut the flag end and added it to the front.
  9. Finally, I embellished with a trio of pearls at the top and bottom of the Accent and at the base of the flower.

 

I love how it turned out!  I think this will be my mom's Mother's Day card this year.  Hope she isn't looking!

Best Dad Ever Birthday!

Yes!  It's time for the Tour de Freaks…brought to you every month from the Control Freak Swappers!  This tour's theme this month is BIRTHDAYS!  Yeah!  Everyone has one of those, right?   You've probably just come from Yvette Ashe's blog, weren't her projects wonderful?  After visiting here, you can continue on your way by following the link at the bottom. 

 

Here's what I've done this month!  I used a masculine theme for my card and little favor box!  Inside the favor is a few treats…plus, I plan to roll up a gift certificate for my dad…the place I get them still gives out the paper kind, so that will work perfectly!

 

 

Isn't that fun?  I know my dad will love it!  Here's a closeup of the card.

 

 

  1. The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Midnight Muse folded in half. 
  2. I added a 3 3/4 by 5 piece of Very Vanilla that is embossed with the Chevron Embossing Folder.
  3. I cut the Parker's Patterns Designer Paper with the Scallop Duo Die and added it to the right side.
  4. I punched a Decorative Label Punch from Midnight Muse and place it towards the left.
  5. The ties from Best Dad Ever were stamped three times with Cajun Craze, Midnight Muse and Early Espresso, then cut out (I used some on the favor, too).  I adhered them to the Decorative Label Punch piece and added a Hung Up Cute Clip to the top for the ties to "hang" on.
  6. The top tie I pierced with the tool, then added a VIntage Trinket tie tack.
  7. I stamped Happy Birthday twice with Midnight Muse ink…once on Daffodil Delight and once on Very Vanilla, punched the Daffodil Delight with the Ticket Duo punch, then cut the Happy off the Very Vanilla and added it to the top.

 

The favor was SO fun to make!  Can you tell what I used for the top sleeve portion?  If you guessed the Clear Scallop Square Die…you are RIGHT!  Since the top element with the ties is the same as I described above, I'll just give you the dimensions of the favor.

  • Cut the Clear Scallop Die with Parker's Patterns Designer Paper.  Score at 7/8, 1-1/2, 2-7/8 & 3-1/2.  Fold and adhere just the tips of the scallops together to form the sleeve.

 

  • Make the bottom to hold 3 Hershey Nuggets with a 2-1/4 x 5-3/4 piece of Midnight Muse cardstock.  Score 1/2 each on all four sides.  Cut slits from the narrow end to the score mark for the tabs.  Adhere the tabs inside the box bottom. 
  • Wrap 1 x 3 pieces of designer paper around the Hershey Nuggets.
  • Slide the box bottom inside the sleeve.
  • Decorate the top same as the card above.

 

OK…so what do you think?  I'm really happy with how it turned out!!!  Makes a great little masculine gift!
