Saturday Blog Hop – Ombre

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! It’s our first blog hop of March and we are continuing with some techniques on our cards. This week we are showing off Ombre coloring…can be using cardstock, inks, designer paper or whatever medium they wanted to use to go from shades of light to dark!

PLAYING IN THE RAIN

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Bermuda Bay cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White, strips of 5/8 x 4 in colors of Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Pool Party were added to the front.
The Playing in the Rain greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink and the raindrops with Pool Party Ink.
The bunny was stamped on scrap Basic White cardstock and colored with Light Flirty Flamingo, Bermuda Bay Combo, Dark Daffodil Delight, and Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. It was hand-cut so I could get the puddle under his foot, but you could cut with the Playing in the Rain Dies and add the extra puddle.
The clouds were stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and colored with the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends.
All were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the background.

CCMC756 – Easter Bunny

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This week is a bright color challenge!

EASTER BUNNY

I know I’ve said it before, but these bunnies are just darling!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Shaded Spruce cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 2-3/4 x 5 piece of red floral Regency Park DSP was added down the center.
The 2-1/4 x 4-1/4 of polka dot Regency Park DSP was wrapped with White Crinkled Ribbon and tied in a bow, then added towards the left side.
The ovals from the Framed Florets Dies were cut from Basic White cardstock.
The oval center portion was stamped with the Easter Bunny in Memento Black Ink and colored with Light Smoky Slate and Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends for the ear and cheek.
The grass was stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink along the bottom and colored with Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends.
The flowers were stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and colored with Sweet Sorbet, Daffodil Delight and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends, then trimmed and adhered to the neck.
The ovals were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the background of the oval and one in the center of the large flower.
The greeting from Easter Bunny was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 2-1/2 Sweet Sorbet cardstock, then end cut at an angle.

CS78 – Day at the Farm

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme. This month the theme is Sale-A-Bration! Our last one for the month! We will design our cards using this theme!

DAY AT THE FARM

I’ve used the SAB Level 1 selection Day at the Farm DSP for today’s card! It came together really quickly once I decided which patterns to use! Today is the LAST DAY to take advantage of SAB rewards! Don’t miss out!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Balmy Blue cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Daffodil Delight was embossed with the upcoming Basics crosshatch 3D Embossing Folder. You can order the trio of Basic folders beginning March 1st!
Two 1/2 x 4 pieces of Daffodil Delight striped DSP was added on top and bottom of the 3 x 4 chicks and ducks pattern DSP from Day on the Farm DSP. It was added to the front.
The greeting from Framed Florets Stamp Set was stamped on Basic White cardstock with Memento Black Ink, then cut with the Something Fancy Tag Die.
A 1/4 x 1-3/4 strip of chicken wire pattern in Day at the Farm DSP was added above the greeting.
Some Black/White Gingham Ribbon was tied in a bow thru the tag. The tag was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals
The small flower from Petal Park Punch was punched from Daffodil Delight cardstock and adhered next to the tag.
A blue Glossy Dot was added in the center of the flower.

IM269 – Around the Bend

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges. Not exactly sure what this is supposed to be, but I’m calling it a trivet! It is pretty!

PETAL PARK AND AROUND THE BEND

I combined the Petal Park Stamp Set and Punch with the Around the Bend Dies for this look! I was pretty excited about how it turned out!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Coastal Cabana cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Polished Pink cardstock is embossed with the Basics 3D Embossing Folder.
- The 3 x 3-1/2 piece of Basic White cardstock was cut with the Around the Bend Die and adhere to the top left of the Polished Pink panel.
- The 2-1/4 x 3 piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock was also cut with the Around the Bend Die and adhered to the bottom right corner.
- The greeting from Charming Sentiments is stamped with Memento Black Ink.
- The trio of flowers from Petal Park stamp set were stamped with Memento Black Ink outline and Polished Pink inside. It was punched with the Petal Park Punch and added to the front.
- Two leaves from the Around the Bend Dies were cut from Coastal Cabana cardstock and tucked under the flowers.
- Three blue Glossy Dots Assortment were added to the centers of the flowers.

Saturday Blog Hop – Stencils

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Can you believe we are halfway through the January-April Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration is almost over! Time is moving FAST! This week we are showing off Stencils! Either use a premade stencil or create one using die cuts! I grabbed my Two-Tone Flora background die and immediately went to work!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Polished Pink cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 layer of Basic White was stenciled with the Two-Tone Floral Die. I first created a “template” by cutting Thick Basic White cardstock with the Die. Then I used the template over the Basic White layer to sponge on the color with a Sponge Dauber. It was trimmed to 4 x 5-1/4 and adhered to the front. (Note: I can keep the template and use it later!)
A 1-1/2 x 4 piece of striped Flowers & More DSP was added across the front.
The small flower was stamped OFF with Polished Pink Ink on Basic White cardstock, then stamped the outline image with full-strength Polished Pink Ink. The leaves were stamped with Parakeet Party Ink on Basic White cardstock. All were cut with the Two-Tone Flora Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Very Best Occasions was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Polished Pink cardstock, cut with the Something Fancy Die, and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of yellow Glossy Dots were added to the background.

CCMC755 – Petal Park

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This week is a fun sketch challenge!

PETAL PARK

I just received my Petal Park Bundle and had to use it right away! I didn’t really think I needed another flower set, but the punch makes this SO easy and there is some coordinating DSP that you can punch out! I didn’t use that DSP, I combined it with the Flowers & More Designer Paper that is a host option. I LOVE how much DSP you get in this package! Great for doing large classes! This one has nice BRIGHT colors in it!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Parakeet Party cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Tahitian TIde is added on top.
a 1 x 5 piece of Mango Melody cardstock was added across the front with a 1/4 x 4-3/4 strip of Melon Mambo added on top.
Two patterns of Flowers & More DSP were cut to 3 x 4 size and added to the front at angles.
The tag is 1-3/4 x 2-1/2 of Basic White cardstock and cut to a point. The greeting from Beautifully Happy (SAB) is stamped with Melon Mambo Ink. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The flower trio from Petal Park stamp set was stamped with Melon Mambo for the outline and Mango Melody for the inside coloring. It was punched with the Petal Park Punch then added to the tag.
Five leaves were stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink on Parakeet Party cardstock, then punched with the Petal Park Punch. They were tucked under the flowers.
Some blue Glossy Dots were added in the center of the flowers for a little bling!

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme. This month the theme is Sale-A-Bration! We will design our cards using this theme!

THANKS A BUNCH

This is a super simple card using the Thanks a Bunch SAB stamp set and Dandy Designs SAB Designer Paper! A double SAB card for our creatively simple challenge this week! I stamped and cut out the carrots by hand, but you could make this even easier by just stamping directly on the background!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pumpkin Pie cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was added on top of the base card.
Two 3/4 x 5-1/4 pieces of Dandy Designs DSP was added to the top and bottom of the Basic White c/s.
Five carrots were stamped with Pumpkin Pie Ink and tops with Granny Apple Green Ink on Basic White, then hand-cut and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Thanks a Bunch was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Granny Apple Green cardstock, then cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the background.

IRRESISTIBLE BLOOMS

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Soft Succulent cardstock, scored 4-1/4 and folded.
A 3 x 5-1/2 piece of Hello, Irresistible Designer Paper was added across the center.
The 3-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was cut with the circle swirl Irresistible Blooms Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The large and small flowers were stamped with Mango Melody Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.
The leaves were stamped with Soft Succulent Ink and colored with the Light Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends.
All were cut with the Irresistible Blooms Dies and added to the bottom of the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A 1/4 x 3-1/4 strip of Daffodil Delight was added off-center.
Thank you from Irresistible Blooms stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink and hand-cut around the words. It was added to the Daffodil strip with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Three Flat Adhesive Backed Pearls were added to the center of the flowers and next to the greeting.
