LIGHTING THE WAY

I didn’t get a chance to share the Valentine I made my one grandson because I didn’t want him to see it before he got it! But I think this would be perfect for an anniversary/just because card for a camping lover!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Sweet Sorbet cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 1 x 3-3/4 piece of Country Floral Lane DSP was added to the bottom of a 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic White cardstock.
The branch from Lighting the Way was stamped with Garden Green Ink in the upper right corner.
The lantern was cut from Soft Suede cardstock with the Lighting the Way Die. Before adhering, the heart from Country Bouquet was stamped with Sweet Sorbet Ink where the lantern globe would be. The lantern was popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two bees were stamped with Memento Black Ink in the background and colored with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.
Be My Valentine from Share a Milkshake was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Sweet Sorbet and punched with the Double Oval Punch. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I think this card shares the love, don’t you? I love how it turned out and my grandson did, too! OK…next up on this short Control Freaks Blog Hop is the fabulous Wendy Weixler! I know you’ll enjoy her projects, too! She does BEAUTIFUL work!

Saturday Blog Hop – Plaid Tidings

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Time is running out quickly to take advantage of the Sale-A-Bration products! This week we are showing off our plaids! Could use inks, designer paper, or create your own plaids! I had these circles left over from another Adorable Owls card that I made using the Picture This Dies, so I thought I’d use them for this plaid challenge!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Smoky Slate cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Calypso Coral is added on top.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Pale Papaya cardstock is embossed with the Cane Weave Embossing Folder.
The leftover circles from cutting the Dandy Designs Designer Paper (SAB) with the Picture This Dies were added to the front of the card.
A 3/4 x 3 piece of Calypso Coral cardstock was cut with a flag end, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Adorable Owls was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 1-3/4 Basic White and added to the strip.
The Adorable Owls image was stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with the Smoky Slate, Pale Papaya, Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. It was hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CCMC754 – Easter Bunny

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This week is a pretty color challenge!

EASTER BUNNY

This Easter Bunny stamp set is the cutest! I love their little faces! I decided to make some pastel bunnies this week! This card is easy to make, even if the Bunny Punch is sold out!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Fresh Freesia cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Fancy Flora DSP was added on top.
The 3-1/2 x 4 piece of Basic White cardstock was cut at a triangle on the end by measuring up 1″ on each side from the bottom and finding the center point. It was adhered to the front.
Happy Easter from Easter Bunny was stamped with Orchid Oasis Ink along the bottom.
A 1/2 x 4-1/2 strip of Orchid Oasis was added across the front.
The bunny was stamped on Fresh Freesia, Orchid Oasis and Balmy Blue cardstock with Memento Black Ink and punched (or hand-cut). The eyes were colored with a white gel pen.
The tails are made with the end of a Q-tip that was removed from the stick.
The bunnies were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the Basic White layer.
The flower was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and colored with the Fresh Freesia, Balmy Blue and Orchid Oasis Stampin’ Blends. It was hand-cut and added under the greeting.
A trio of Opaque Adhesive Backed Gems were added to the background for a little bling.

CS76 – In the Country

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme. This month the theme is Sale-A-Bration! We will design our cards using this theme!

IN THE COUNTRY

This is the first time using the SAB stamp set, In the Country. I actually really like how this turned out paired with the Fancy Flora DSP!

Stampin’ Details:

Base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Evening Evergreen cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Fancy Flora DSP was added on top.
The In the Country scene was stamped with Evening Evergreen Ink on Basic White cardstock, then colored with Soft Succulent, Mint Macaron, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and SU300 Stampin’ Blends.
It was cut with the Stitched Rectangles Dies and added to a 2-1/2 x 3-3/4 piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock.
Two 3/8 x 2 pieces of Crushed Curry cardstock were cut at an angle, then added under the Evening Evergreen layer. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Charming Sentiments was stamped with Soft Suede Ink on Crushed Curry cardstock and cut with the Sentiment Silhouettes Dies, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Evening Evergreen In Color Opal Rounds were added to the background.

IM267 – Country Bouquet

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges. How about a plate full of decorated cookies to inspire you this week? Just in time for Valentine’s Day!

COUNTRY BOUQUET

Well, the greeting is the only thing stamped on here!!! I used designer paper and the heart punches to resemble the cookies! Made it VERY easy to pull together…even the day before!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Sweet Sorbet cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was added on top.
- Across the front is a 1 x 4 strip of Sweet Sorbet cardstock.
- The 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Regency Park DSP is added to the front.
- Two hearts were punched with the Heart Punch from Regency Park DSP and layered on the Scallop Heart Punch from Basic White c/s. They were added to the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- With Love from Country Bouquet stamp set was stamped on a 1/2 x 1-3/4 piece of Basic White with Sweet Sorbet Ink and the end cut at an angle. It was added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A trio of Red Rhinestones were added to the background and the top heart.

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This week is a fun sketch challenge!

COUNTRY BOUQUET

This is a slight variation of the card I used in my Valentine’s Buffet Class last week! It was a hit! It worked perfectly for today’s sketch challenge just by tweaking the measurements a little.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Sweet Sorbet cardstock was embosssed with the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder and added to the front.
Two 3/8 x 3-1/2 strips of Mint Country Gingham DSP were added to the background.
The Decorative Circle was punched from Basic White cardstock and stamped with the greeting from Country Bouquet Stamp Set. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Country Bouquet large heart was punched from Country Gingham DSP, the leaves from Mint Macaron cardstock and the small heart from Sweet Sorbet cardstock. All were added to the Decorative Circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
An Iridescent Rhinestone was added to the small heart for a little bling.

CS75 – Beautifully Happy

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme. This month the theme is Sale-A-Bration! We will design our cards using this theme!

BEAUTIFULLY HAPPY

Of course, it makes me “beautifully happy” to have a floral set in our SAB lineup this year! I can’t resist a good floral! This one is especially nice since it is so easy to color! The stamps do all the work!

Stampin’ Details:

Base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pale Papaya cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of HIghland Heather cardstock was embossed with the Cane Weave Embossing Folder!
A 1-1/2 x 4-1/4 piece of Dandy Designs DSP (SAB) was added to the left side.
The Beautifully Happy flower outline was stamped with Memento Black Ink. The insides were stamped with Highland Heather, Pear Pizzazz and Pale Papaya. I colored over the leaves of the Pale Papaya image with the Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. It was hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Seaside Bay Stamp Set was stamped with Memento Black on a 1/2 x 2-1/2 strip of Basic White and the end cut at an angle. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the flower center and background.

I needed a sympathy card for a stamping friend whose mom just passed away. This is a very simple design, but packs a wow, I think! Make sure to check out Mary’s Creatively Simple card over on Create with Connie and Mary!

IM266 – Lighting the Way

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges. How about a fun decorated lantern for your inspiration this week?

LIGHTING THE WAY

I must admit that I ordered this set JUST for the lantern! Of course, the rest of the images and dies are cute, too…but the lantern just caught my eye first!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Mango Melody cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- A 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Regency Park DSP is added to the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Gray Granite cardstock.
- Some Black/White Gingham Ribbon is wrapped around and tied in a bow on the front.
- The greeting from Lighting the Way is stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Basic White and the end cut at an angle. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The lantern was cut with the Lighting the Way Dies.
- Before adhering the lantern, the light was stamped with Melody Mango Ink in the background of the Gray Granite layer.
- The lantern was placed on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The daisy was cut from Mango Melody cardstock, the leaf clusters from Old Olive cardstock, and the center with Basic White cardstock using the Around the Bend Dies. They were added to the top of the lantern with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The two bees were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White, the ends colored with the Mango Melody Marker., and cut with the Lighting the Way Dies. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Iridescent Rhinestones were used for the center of the flower and two in the background.
