Saturday Blog Hop – Cards with Polka Dots

This week’s theme for our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop is “cards with polka dots”. We could use polka dots we make, polka dots in designer paper, or a hybrid of the two! I LOVE polka dots! I knew the minute I saw the Dots & Spots Die in the Annual Catalog that I HAD to have it to create my own colors of polka dots!

POTTED GERANIUM

This stamp set is so fun and so easy to create beautiful flowers! I’ve used a combination of Polished Pink and Poppy Parade Inks on my blossoms for a bright, cheery look! Wouldn’t this brighten someone’s day? They almost look real!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Polished Pink cardstock is cut with the Dots & Spots Die and added to the front.
A 1 x 4 piece of Parakeet Party cardstock was added across the center.
The Deckled Rectangle is stamped with the solid blossom in Polished Pink Ink and the detailed blossom with Poppy Parade Ink. The detail leaves and stems were stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink and the solid leaves with Parakeet Party Ink. Some extra blossoms and leaves were stamped the same way on scrap Basic White and cut with the Geranium Dies, then assembled on top for depth.
Again, I’ve used the basket from Full Basket Dies, cut from Soft Suede and Crumb Cake cardstocks.
The stake is stamped with Soft Suede Ink and the greeting with Poppy Parade Ink on Basic White and cut.

Creatively Simple 47 – Best Butterflies

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “THINGS THAT FLY”, and we each create a simple card every Tuesday using that theme!

Here’s a simple card that allows the Fern Embossing Folder and small swatch of Wonderful World Designer Paper to accessorize the Best Butterfly image!

BEST BUTTERFLIES

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was embossed with the Fern Embossing Folder and added to the front of the base card.
A 1-1/4 x 4 piece of Wonderful World Designer Paper (a FREE Sale-A-Bration product) was added towards the bottom with a 1/4 x 4 piece of Polished Pink cardstock at the bottom.
The butterfly was stamped with Daffodil Delight Ink and Polished Pink Ink and the body with Memento Black Ink and all were cut with the Build a Butterfly Dies. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two large Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the body.
The greeting From Happiness Abounds was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 2-1/2 Basic White cardstock and cut the end at an angle. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CCMC725 – Hello Harvest

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This month our challenges will be to “case the catalog”. Each week we have a new card design to inspire us taken right from the catalog…we could use the colors, the layout, or the stamp set and dies. This week I’m using one of the new July-Dec stamp sets, Rustic Pumpkin for my card, using the layout as inspiration!

HELLO HARVEST

I love that this set has a very realistic pumpkin in it and that it can be colored! I paired it with the new July-Dec Host Only Celebrate Everything Designer Paper…it really does have a little bit of all celebrations!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 1 x 4-1/2 piece of the Celebrate Everything DSP was added towards the left side at an angle.
A second 2-1/4 x 5 piece of leaf print Celebrate Everything DSP was added on top.
An 8″ piece of Silver Threaded Twine was folded in half and tied towards the top with some Linen Thread. It was added to the front at an angle with Mini Glue Dots.
The pumpkin from Hello Harvest stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Dark Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Combo Blends. The stem with SU 200 Blends. It was cut with the Rustic Pumpkin Dies and added over the Twine with doubled Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it extra height.
The vine was cut from Garden Green cardstock with the Dies and added to the pumpkin.
The greeting from Hello Harvest was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 3/4 x 2-1/2 piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock, the end cut at an angel and adhered under the pumpkin edge.

Creatively Simple 46 – Peaceful Moments

Stampin’ Up!’s designer paper is SO gorgeous that sometimes it just needs to be used all by itself! That’s how I feel about the new Rings of Love Designer Paper available for FREE with purchase during Sale-A-Bration in July and August! Don’t miss out on this one! The only thing stamped on here is the greeting!

PEACEFUL MOMENTS & FABULOUS FRAMES

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Orchid Oasis cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Rings of Love DSP was added to the base card.
The Fabulous Frame was cut from 4 x 5-1/4 Soft Suede and added over the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A 1 x 3-3/4 piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock was added towards the bottom with a 1/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Orchid Oasis cardstock on top.
The oval Fabulous Frame was cut from Basic White cardstock and the center portion stamped with the Happy Birthday greeting from Peaceful Moments on top in Orchid Oasis Ink. It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
One bird was cut from the DSP and added next to the greeting.
Two Fine Sparkle Gems were also added to the oval.

Achievers Blog Hop – July 2022

Our Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip Achievers get together each month for a Blog Hop! Our blog hop theme this month is ANYTHING CURRENT!

POTTED GERANIUMS

I have always loved geraniums…I think because traditionally they are a bright red color that stands out! In fact, I even had one wall wallpapered in pots of geraniums at our first house (MANY years ago!) lol! It was quite bold!

The stamped geranium card on the left is one that my Stamp Clubs did last month, combined with the basket in the Full Basket Dies. But I also wanted to show them the pretty Geranium Dies, so I made up the second card as a sample with just the Geranium Dies! I think Potted Geraniums is one of the prettiest bundles we’ve had!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Calypso Coral cardstock, scored at 2-1/8 and 4-1/4. The shorter front is folded back on itself to form a Z-fold.
Painted Christmas DSP: 2 x 5-3/8, adhered to front flap. (SO happy that DSP is back this year!)
Crumb Cake c/s: 4 x 5-1/4, stamp your inside greeting with Memento Black Ink and add to inside back.
Old Olive c/s: 3-1/4 x 4-1/2, adhere only left side to front flap over DSP.
Basic White c/s: 3-1/4 x 4-1/2, cut with Deckled Rectangles Die.
- Stamp solid flower blossom at top with Calypso Coral Ink, stamp detail on top with Real Red Ink.
- Stamp detail leaves with Old Olive Ink, lining up with blossoms, stamp solid insides with Parakeet Party Ink.
Soft Suede c/s: 2 x 2-1/2, and 1-1/2 x 2-1/2, cut solid basket and basket bands with Full Basket Dies.
Crumb Cake c/s: 2 x 2-1/2, cut slotted basket, adhere to solid basket and add bands on top. Adhere towards bottom of Deckle Rectangle under leaves.
Basic White c/s: 2-1/2 x 4-1/4, stamp two blossoms and one leaf cluster same as above. Cut with Geranium Dies. Cut off bottom stem and two top stems on leaf cluster. Add leaves to front over top of basket with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add flower blossoms over leaves with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Basic White scrap: Stamp stake and greeting with Memento Black Ink. Cut with die, tuck into basket.

My second card used mostly the Geranium Dies and the Z-fold is flipped to the top!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Calypso Coral cardstock, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2. The front flap is folded back on itself.
A 2-1/4 x 4 piece of Painted Christmas Designer Paper was added to the top flap.
Only the top half of the 3-1/4 x 4-1/2 Old Olive cardstock was adhered to the top flap.
The 3-1/4 x 4-1/2 Basic White cardstock was cut with the Deckled Rectangles Die.
The shadow for the pot was stamped with Crumb Cake Ink.
The blossoms were cut with the Geranium Dies with Calypso Coral cardstock background and Real Red cardstock detail. The detail stems/leaves from Old Olive cardstock and the background from Parakeet Party cardstock.
The pot pieces were cut with the Geranium Dies from Orchid Oasis cardstock.
All were assembled on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The stake and greeting were stamped with Memento Black Ink, cut with the dies and tucked into the pot.
A 4 x 5-1/4 liner of Crumb Cake cardstock was added inside, stamped with a greeting.

IM237 – Sweetest Cherries

It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! Isn’t this cluster of cherries fabric SO cute?

SWEETEST CHERRIES

I decided to make my background by stamping all three colors of cherries and the leaves randomly! Who remembers that we had to do this all the time because we didn’t have much designer paper to choose from years ago!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Sweet Sorbet cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was randomly stamped with the cherry image in Coastal Cabana, Sweet Sorbet and Flirty Flamingo. The leaves were stamped with Shaded Spruce. It was added to the base card.
- Three 1/2 x 5-1/4 strips of Coastal Cabana, Sweet Sorbet and Flirty Flamingo cardstock were added to a 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock.
- The greeting was stamped towards the left on Basic White cardstock with Coastal Cabana Ink and punched with the new Decorative Circle Punch. It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The cherry was punched with the Cherry Builder Punch from Sweet Sorbet cardstock. The leaves from Shaded Spruce cardstock and the stem from Early Espresso cardstock. It was popped up on the Decorative Circle.
- A trio of Fine Sparkle Gems were added to the background.

CCMC724 – Leaves of Holly

LEAVES OF HOLLY

I just got my Leaves of Holly Bundle and couldn’t wait to play! This is my first card using it! The solid label shape worked perfectly!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Garden Green cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/2 piece of Basic White cardstock was added on top.
Six 1/2 x 3-1/2 strips of Sweetest Christmas Designer Paper were added across the front with the ends angled.
The label from the Holly Berry Dies was cut from Garden Green cardstock and the backing for the leaves from Parakeet Party cardstock. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Leaves of Holly was stamped with Sweet Sorbet Ink and cut with the smaller label in the Holly Berry Dies. It was adhered on top.
A trio of Seasonal Sequins were added to the background.

This week’s theme for our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop is “cards with frames”. Stampin’ Up! has a HUGE variety of frames to choose from. I picked one that I’ve been using a LOT lately from the Fabulous Frames Dies.

WONDERFUL WORLD

One of the new Level 2 Sale-A-Bration FREE Selections is Wonderful World. It’s a bundle with a floral stamp set and coordinating designer paper! SO pretty! I thought this frame suited it perfectly! I’ve always LOVED irises!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Wonderful World DSP was added on top.
Two 1/2 x 4 strips of Old Olive were added across the center.
The frame was cut from both Orchid Oasis and Basic White cardstocks. (Save the other pieces for another card!)
Adhere the Orchid Oasis frame to the front with Foam Strips.
The iris image from Wonderful World was inked with Orchid Oasis and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers directly on the stamp, then stamped on the center Basic White frame.
Birthday Wishes from Sending Smiles was stamped with Orchid Oasis Ink at the bottom of the iris.
A trio of In Color Matte Dots were added to the background.
