IM26 – Rooted in Nature

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! I love this lacy looking flower and I knew immediately what I wanted to do!

I used the large and small leaves from Rooted in Nature Bundle to create my large yellow flower! And paired it with the polka dot pattern in the Brights Designer Paper Package…I love that we have the DSP in all colors again AND that they feature polka dots and stripes…my favorites!

This is a Z-fold card, so here is what it looks like open.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2. It is folded in half and the front panel is folded back on itself.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Daffodil Delight Brights Designer Paper was added to the inside panel.
To create the flower, I started by stamping 7 of the large leaves with Crushed Curry Ink on Whisper White. Next is 6 of the smaller leaf stamped with Crushed Curry Ink on Daffodil Delight cardstock. They were cut out with the framelit.
I punched a 2″ circle and covered it with Snail adhesive, then began with the larger leaves and formed the background flower.
On the smaller leaves I placed the adhesive on the back and layered over the large ones. I curled all the petals slightly for a natural look.
In the center is a large Gold Faceted Gem.
The flower was added to the front panel, hanging over the edge.
For the actual “leaves” of the flower, I stamped with Granny Apple Green Ink on Granny Apple Green cardstock, then cut out with the framelit and tucked them under the flower on the front panel.
Finally, the greeting was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White and hand cut and adhered on the DSP.

Styish Christmas

I love the look of this stamp set…and I love poinsettias! A match made in heaven, right? I also just got my order that had the Kraft Pillow Boxes…so cute with those polka dots, isn’t it? One of my favorite color combos is Real Red and Kraft/Crumb Cake…and I LOVE the new Shaded Spruce for Christmas! So…here we go!

Here’s a closeup of the card:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Shaded Spruce cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Neutrals Designer Paper (Crumb Cake) some Real Red Cotton Ribbon was added towards the left side and adhered in the back, then the layer was added on top of the base card.
Two Poinsettias from Stylish Christmas were stamped with Real Red Ink side by side (just barely touching) on Whisper White cardstock and then hand-cut. They were popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The leaves were stamped twice with Shade Spruce Ink on Whisper White and hand cut, then adhered under the poinsettias.
The greeting from Stylish Christmas was stamped with Shaded Spruce on Whisper White and cut with the Layering Shapes Oval, then adhered to a larger Scallop Oval of Shaded Spruce. It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals slightly over the poinsettias.
Two Gold Faceted Gems were added in the center of the poinsettias.

I altered the Pillow Box just a little!

Stampin' Up! Stylish Christmas Kraft Pillow Box

Following the line of the top of the Kraft Pillow Box while folded, cut off approx 1/2″ so that you don’t see the half moon thumb tab.
Using the Layering Shapes Oval, cut through both layers of the pillow box (run thru a couple times)
Stamp the greeting from Stylish Christmas with Shaded Spruce Ink on Whisper White and cut the the Layering Shapes Oval, then cut the Shaded Spruce cardstock with the Scallop Oval and adhere together. Add to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp a poinsettia with Real Red ink on Whisper White and hand-cut, then add to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp the leaves with Shaded Spruce Ink on Whisper White and hand-cut, tuck under the poinsettia.
Add Gold Faceted Gem to the center.
Close up bottom of Kraft Pillow Box and fill!

IM25 – Pop of Petals

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! Isn’t this a fun looking coin purse that we are using for our inspiration this week?

And yep! I’m using Pop of Petals again! I don’t think it has been off my desk for long…love that it has a punch to match. This turned out to be a very different color combination, but I like it! And…LOVE that Tuffed Embossing Folder!!! Wow!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Balmy Blue cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Balmy Blue was embossed at the top portion with the Tuffed Embossing Folder, and then a added on top.
A 2 x 4 piece of Subtles Designer Paper was added at the bottom of the embossed piece, then a 3/4 x 4 piece of Whisper White placed across the top.
The Whisper White strip was stamped with Happy Anniversary in Cajun Craze Ink towards the right side.
Two flowers from Pop of Petals were stamped with Cajun Craze on Pumpkin Pie cardstock, then punched. The petals were washed with some Wink of Stella on the petals. The petals were curled and placed on the card with Mini Glue Dots.
The leaves were stamped with Cajun Craze Ink on Cajun Craze cardstock and hand cut out, then tucked under the flowers.
The smaller flowers were stamped with Cajun Craze Ink on Whisper White, then washed with the Wink of Stella to move the ink a little to color them. They were added to the front with Mini Glue Dots.
The Gentlemen buttons were added to the center of the flowers, the larger one tied with some Linen Thread in a bow.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite New Bundle

Today’s Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Favorite New Bundle”! Sorry, I’m TOO fickle to just chose ONE favorite in the new catalog! There are BUNCHES of them that I really like! So, I went with one that was already out on my desk! How’s that for choosing favorites!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 2 x 4-3/4 piece of Lovely Lipstick In Colors Designer Paper was added to the left side, then a 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of the Pineapple Punch In Colors DSP over top of it.
The largest Stitched Shape Square was cut from Whisper White cardstock and stamped with the Lots of Happy greeting in Memento Black Ink in the upper left corner.
The flower from Pop of Petals was stamped twice with Lovely Lipstick and once with Pineapple Punch Ink on Whisper White, then punched with the Four Petal Flower Punch (that is part of the bundle with the stamp set!)
Another of the flower was stamped twice with Call Me Clover Ink on Whisper White and punched also for the leaves.
The flowers were assembled on the front and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The leaves were cut apart and tucked under the flowers.
To finish, some of the Black Faceted Dots were added in the center of the flowers for a little pop!

CCMC514 Country Road

Happy Thursday!!! It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This month we are having a little fun and celebrating the new catalog by having “Case The Catalog” challenges! Next up is this one on page 5. We could use the color combination, the layout, stamp set, or just the overall theme…whatever we wanted!

For my card, I used the fun layout! Here’s what I did with the new Country Road! Now, I’m not sure what drew me to this stamp set…not my usual style, but I’ve used it on my swap cards and for this challenge and I really like it!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 with the new yummy Merry Merlot cardstock, scored at 5-1/2. It looks almost Cherry Cobbler in the photo, but a much darker, richer color!
The Wood Textures Designer Paper is cut 3 x 3-1/2 and placed on the front.
The horse weather vane from Country Road stamp set is stamped with Merry Merlot Ink on a 2-1/2 x 4-1/4 piece of Very Vanilla cardstock towards the top. It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Country Road is stamped with Merry Merlot on Crumb Cake cardstock and punched with the Tailored Tag Punch then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The star from Country Road is stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Crumb Cake and hand cut, then added with another Dimensional. There is a Gold Metallic Pearl added to the center.

IM24 Pop of Petals

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! Two weeks in a row we went with the gray/white/black tones. However, this week I went with a pop of yellow that is hinted at in the photo! I love Smoky Slate and So Saffron colors together…so classy!

New stamp set in the house!!! Pop of Petals…love that it has a punch to match. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the Framelit/Thinlits, but sometimes it is nice to have a punch and just go to town punching! lol!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Smoky Slate cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White was added on top.
On the 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Smoky Slate, a 1 x 4-3/4 piece of Garden Impressions Designer Paper was adhered towards the bottom.
Two flowers from Pop of Petals were stamped with Basic Gray on Whisper White, then punched with the Four Petal Flower Punch. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The centers were stamped with Basic Gray on So Saffron cardstock and hand-cut.
Another flower was stamped with Basic Gray Ink on Smoky Slate cardstock, then punched with the Four Petal Flower Punch, cut apart and used as leaves and tucked under the flowers.
The greeting was stamped with Basic Gray on a 3/4 x 2 piece of So Saffron and cut at an angle on the left side. A 1/4 x 2 coordinating piece of Basic Gray cardstock was cut the same. It was added to the front, then the So Saffron piece added with Stampin’ Dimensionals on top.
To finish, a couple Rhinestone Jewels were placed in the center of the flowers.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Healing Hugs

Today’s Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Favorite In Color”! With so many new colors, my focus has been just the tiniest less focused on the In Colors, but I do love all the primary colors! Of course…had to pick Pineapple Punch…a bright and sunny yellow…for my favorite!

I also wanted to use my brand new Healing Hugs. I know this set will get a LOT of use from me. I’m already sending off this card to a stamping friend who just found out she has cancer. I hope the bright color cheers her up and that she knows we are thinking and praying for her.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pineapple Punch cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 3/4 x 4 piece of In Colors Designer Paper was added to the bottom.
The 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 piece of Crumb Cake was embossed with the Basket Weave embossing folder, then the sides cut up on an angle to resemble a basket.
The handle was made by cutting two largest ovals from the Layered Ovals Framelits.
The rose was stamped with Pineapple Punch Ink on Whisper White then hand cut. The leaves were stamped with Granny Apple Green (my favorite new green!) on Whisper White and hand cut. They were added to the basket with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting in Healing Hugs was stamped with Memento Black on scrap Whisper White, cut with a flag end, then added to the basket, tucked under the leaves.

Happy Thursday!!! It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This month we are having a little fun and celebrating the new catalog by having “Case The Catalog” challenges! First up is this one on page 48. We could use the color combination, the layout, stamp set, or just the overall theme…whatever we wanted!

For my card, I used the fun layout! Here’s what I did with Lilypad Lake! Instead of the square frame, I used the fun cut out wave shape in the Lakeside Framelits!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Coastal Cabana cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Pool Party cardstock, embossed with the Seaside Embossing folder.
A 2 x 4-1/4 piece of Tranquil Textures Designer Paper was added in the background.
A 2 x 4 piece of Fresh Fig cardstock was cut with the “wave” Lakeside Framelit and adhered to the front.
The crane (heron?) was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and cut with the Lakeside Framelit, then added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The grasses were cut from Tranquil Tide cardstock and adhered around the legs of the crane.
The greeting was stamped with Fresh Fig on Whisper White and cut with the label Lakeside Framelit (LOVE that it includes a couple of these!)
