SUOC185 Favorite Holiday Product

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is “Favorite Holiday Product”. Again, what a difficult challenge to narrow down to just ONE product in the Holiday Catalog!!! But, again, Painted Harvest won out for me…this time a more masculine look!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Old Olive cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Very Vanilla was embossed with the Layered Leaves embossing folder.
Across the front is a 3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Painted Autumn Designer Paper.
The leaves in Painted Harvest stamp set were stamped with Garden Green on Old Olive cardstock, then punched with the Leaf punch.
The greeting was stamped with Chocolate Chip Ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and punched with the Pretty Label Punch. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the leaves tucked around it.
Two acorns were stamped with Soft Suede bottoms and Chocolate Chip tops on Crumb Cake cardstock, then hand-cut and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the front with Mini Glue Dots.

Ultimate Pink Blog Hop

Today over 50 demonstrators are coming together to stamp PINK for one day in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. ALL of us know family members or friends who have been affected. My sister-in-law is in remission…we are very blessed!

Here’s my contribution to the blog hop featuring the Birthday Blooms stamp set. I love this large flower and it’s perfect for coloring! I love the script “for you”…so appropriate for SO many events! I thought it would be perfect for the Stamp PINK theme!

Here the the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Powder Pink cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Old Olive cardstock.
The large flower from Birthday Blooms was stamped with Memento Black and colored with Pink Pirouette and Old Olive NEW Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. (They are coming soon and demos get a chance to preorder and try them out!)
For You was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
Some Pear Pizzazz Shimmer Ribbon was wrapped around and tied on the front.
A few pink Glimmer Dots were added to the background!

Saturday Blog Hop – Autumn cards with non-fall colors

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “Autumn cards with non-fall colors” this week! Just by accident, I had made the “perfect” card for this challenge when I was designing my stamp club cards last week. I decided not to use it for club because I wanted more traditional colors and to use the beautiful Painted Autumn DSP instead. So…here’s the card we DIDN’T do! I love, love, love the bright colors!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Bermuda Bay cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black Cardstock.
On the 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Whisper White, the colors of Lemon Lime Twist and Bermuda Bay are washed in the background with an AquaPainter. Let dry.
Stamp the Pick a Pumpkin images with Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist and Memento Black Ink and cut with the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits.
Save the stars from the Basic Black star pumpkin to use in the background.
Cut the large pumpkin twice…once with Basic Black and once with Lemon Lime Twist cardstocks, then paper piece the Lemon Lime Twist pieces inside the openings of the Basic Black pumpkin. Adhere to card.
Cut some vines from Bermuda Bay.
Arrange the pumpkins, using some Stampin’ Dimensionals, add the vines and stars.
Stamp the greeting from Butterfly Basics with Memento Black Ink.

Santa’s Suit

The Santa’s Suit stamp bundle was one of the first I purchased, and I used it on a swap first thing. Sadly, I haven’t played with it since! Need to pull it out again. But…here’s the swap card I made using it! This layout was fun, notice that the layers are lined up in the bottom right corner for a more whimsical look.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
Along the right side of the 3-1/2 x 4-1/4 Whisper White cardstock, a 3/4 x 4-1/4 strip of Quilted Christmas Designer Paper was adhered. It was layered on a 4 x 4-1/4 piece of Basic Black..
The Quilted Christmas Ribbon was added long the seam, then an extra piece tied a knot around the ribbon.
The Have a Jolly Christmas from Santa’s Suit was stamped with Memento Black on the Whisper White, along with the Santa suite in Real Red and Memento Black.
Santa’s hat and boots were stamped with Real Red and Memento Black on scrap Whisper White, then cut with the Santa Builder Framelits and popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, some scattered Rhinestones add a little bling.

Painted Harvest Sympathy

We sadly had a neighbor pass away unexpectedly a couple weeks ago. I pulled out the Painted Harvest to make a sympathy card for them. I think this is one of my favorite cards I’ve made with this set.

Here is the inside and the envelope was decorated the same.

The details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crushed Curry cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Cajun Craze was added to the base card.
On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White, the background flower from Painted Harvest stamp set was stamped twice on the left side with Crushed Curry Ink, then the second step flower image stamped with Cajun Craze on top.
The centers of the flowers were filled with Early Espresso Ink.
The fern leaves were stamped with Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz to fill in the background, the the speckle stamp with Early Espresso Ink randomly.
Another flower was stamped the same on scrap Whisper White, then hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two of the leaf trios were stamped with Garden Green, then punched with the Leaf Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Rose Wonder stamp set was stamped with Early Espresso Ink.
The flower and leaves were stamped on a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White on the right side and the inside greeting from Rose Wonder stamp set with Early Espresso Ink.

I just felt this was a perfect set to use for this sad occasion.

Saturday Blog Hop – Fun Edge Cards

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “Fun Edge Cards” this week! I think a fancy edge just adds so much to a card…but other than the edge, my card is super simple!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 6-3/4 piece of Real Red, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The snowflake edge from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits cut the bottom edge of a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Whisper White and then adhered on top of the Real Red shorter front.
The red Snowflake edge from Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits was cut from Real Red, then the snowflakes individually cut and added to the other edge with Tombow Monoadhesive Glue.
Merry Christmas from Snowflake Sentiments was stamped with Memento Black Ink on front.
Inside a 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Metallic Gold Paper was added to the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
Some Gold/Silver Washi Tape was placed along the edge to hide the seam.
The inside greeting from Snowflake Sentiments was stamped with Memento Black Ink, then the snowflakes stamped with Real Red Ink.

CCMC477 Graceful Garden

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! It’s a pretty color challenge…the bright colors seem very appropriate for the warm summer-like weather we’ve been having this week!

I pulled out the Petal Garden Designer Paper Stack because I knew it had these colors in it! I also pulled out a stamp set I haven’t used yet…Graceful Garden! It’s a pretty simple card, but I do like how it turned out! Those colors are great together!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Fresh Fig cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 3 x 4 piece of the Petal Garden Designer Paper was placed along the bottom. The print is so bold that it didn’t need a whole lot more embellishment!
To hide the seam, I used the 1/8″ Fresh Fig ribbon and tied a knot on the front.
The flower from Graceful Garden stamp set was stamped with Calypso Coral Ink once and Pear Pizzazz Ink once on scrap Whisper White. The fern leaf was stamped with Fresh Fig Ink. They were watercolored with ink from the lid of the ink pads and an AquaPainter. All were hand-cut and popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from All Things Thanks was stamped with Fresh Fig Ink.

SUOC184 Favorite Punch/Die

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is “Favorite Punch or Die”. Well, let me say that there are just TOO many to choose from…I couldn’t narrow it down easily. So…I went with one that has gotten more use recently from me!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am an avid College Football fan, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes! This idea is the first thing I thought when I saw the Quilt Bundle suite in the Holiday Catalog…a Buckeye star quilt! I’ve got a couple different versions that I’ll show after the recipients get them…but here is one that I made for this challenge.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate, the letters from the Labeler Alphabet spell out “Go Bucks!” with Memento Black Ink.
On the left side is a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Basic Black, with a 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Whisper White on top. Then a 3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Quilted Christmas Designer Paper on top.
I cut the largest Layering Circle from Basic Black and popped it up on the front.
The quilt star from Christmas Quilt was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black outline, Real Red and Smoky Slate fill the insides, then cut with the Quilt Builder Stitched Star Framelit Die (you have to look closely). I think the stitching marks just finish it off. It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
In the center is a Clear Faceted Gem.
