Saturday Blog Hop – Well Wishes

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is Well Wishes.  I needed a get well card for my father-in-law who just had surgery on his broken shoulder, so this was perfect timing!

BEAUTY OF FRIENDSHIP

I think Beauty of Friendship is perfect for masculine cards and I have used it a lot for them.  This time I used a greeting from Inspiring Thoughts along with it to finish off my card.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was stamped with the tree limbs in Early Espresso Ink across the front.  The leaves were stamped with combo colors.  From left to right:  Pumpkin Pie base and Old Olive detail, Real Red base with Cherry Cobbler detail, Crushed Curry Base with Pumpkin Pie detail.  I love the variation you can get with these stamps!  They look so real, too!
  • A 3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Beauty of the Earth DSP was added to the bottom.
  • The greeting from Inspired Thoughts was stamped with Cherry Cobbler Ink on Basic White and punched with the Label Me Fancy punch.
  • It was layered on a 1/2 x 2-1/2 piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Under that is a 1/4 x 3-1/2 strip of Beauty of the Earth woodgrain print DSP.  Then adhered to the front at the base of the center tree.
  • A trio of Artistry Blooms Adhesive Sequins were added to the trees and background.

CCMC679 – Penguin Place

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  We have a fun sketch for you to try this week!  I’ve said it before, but I LOVE sketch challenges!

PENGUIN PLACE

To me, this sketch calls for the designer paper to be the star…and I LOVE the colors and patterns in the FREE SAB Designer Paper called Penguin Playmates!  Not only do it have some cool stripes and dots…it also has images that you can hand-cut!  I debated to use on of the hand-cut animals in the DSP, but then decided to use the Penguin Place Stamp Set to make my penguin.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Fresh Freesia is embossed with the Wintry Embossing Folder.
  • Two 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 panels of Penguin Playmates Designer Paper was added to the front.
  • One of the Wonderful Snowflakes was added to the DSP.
  • The greeting from Penguin Place stamp set is stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock, then cut with the Harvest Die label.  It was added over the snowflake with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The penguin was stamped with Memento Black Ink, the beak and foot with Pumpkin Pie Ink, the hat and scarf with Misty Moonlight Ink.  All were hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two of the purple Cute Stars were added to the label.

IM190 – Delicate Dahlias

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have a fun set of porcelain milk cartons vases!  Kind of unusual inspiration, isn’t it?  But I guess it is true that you can find inspiration anywhere!

DELICATE DAHLIAS STAMP SET

I knew I wanted to make my card predominantly white, but love the colors of the small carton in front.  It reminded me of the prints in the You’re A Peach Designer Paper.

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • A 2-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of You’re A Peach DSP was added to a 2-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Calypso Coral cardstock, then added to the left side on front.
    • The greeting from Delicate Dahlias (a FREE SAB selection) was stamped with Old Olive Ink.
    • The dahlia outline from Delicate Dahlias stamp set was stamped with Calypso Coral Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock, then the inside stamped with Pale Papaya Ink.  It was hand-cut.
    • A medallion from the Encircled in Beauty Dies was cut from Basic White cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The dahlia flower added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The leaves were stamped with Memento Black Ink and the insides with Old Olive Ink, then hand-cut and added under the flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • A trio of Artistry Blooms Adhesive Sequins were added in the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite New Dies

The next few weeks our design team for Create with Connie and Mary will be taking a tour of the new July-December Mini Catalog!  This week’s blog hop theme is our Favorite July-Dec Mini Catalog Dies!

INTRICATE LEAVES

I admit…I settled.  I just couldn’t pick ONE!  So, I went with a die set that I hadn’t even used yet…Intricate Leaves Dies!  And I combined it with another couple favorites of mine…Stitched Greenery and Stitched Rectangles!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Bumblebee cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock with cut with the Stitched Greenery large background die (LOVE it!).
  • A rectangle was made from using two of the Stitched Rectangles Dies and cutting it from Early Espresso cardstock.  It was added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Much Gratitude from Heartfelt Wishes was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on 3/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Bumblebee cardstock, the end cut at an angle, and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Intricate Leaves were cut from Mango Melody, Cinnamon Cider, Cajun Craze and Bumblebee cardstock and glued around the frame and greeting.
  • Some Linen Thread was folded in half and tied in a bow and added to the stems with Mini Glue Dot.
  • A trio of copper Brushed Metallic Dots were added to the background.

MERRIEST MOMENTS BUNDLE
I had a HARD time trying to decide what mini catalog set to use for this blog hop.  I really thought I’d go with fall, but then saw my Be Dazzling DSP (free SAB option) on my desk and decided to use it on a Christmas card!  I love the hybrid embossing folder/die option in this Merriest Moments Bundle!

CARD Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Cherry Cobbler c/s, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to form the base card.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Evening Evergreen is added on top (I love this color for Christmas!)
  • The large frame image was cut from Be Dazzling Paper (FREE SAB selection!) with the Merriest Frames Dies, then embossed with the Merriest Frames Hybrid embossing folder.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting was was stamped with Cherry Cobbler Ink on the Basic White frame from Merriest Frames Dies towards the top.  It was adhered to the Be Dazzling frame with Tombow Monoadhesive Glue.
  • The holly leaves were stamped with Soft Succulent Ink and the berries with Cherry Cobbler Ink, the greenery with Evening Evergreen Ink.  They were all cut with the Merriest Frames Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of red Holiday Rhinestones were added to the background.

I love all the sparkle on this card!

MERRIEST MOMENTS 3×3 ACETATE BOX

BOX Stampin’ Details:

  • The 3×3 Acetate Box was folded and formed into the box.
  • A 3 x 3 piece of Evening Evergreen was stamped with speckles image and Evergreen Evening Ink in both corners and adhered to the top of the box.
  • The greeting from Merriest Moments was stamped with Evening Evergreen Ink on the Basic White frame from Merriest Frames Dies.  It was added to the front (off center) with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The poinsettia petals were stamped with Cherry Cobbler Ink and greenery with Evening Evergreen Ink on Basic White cardstock, then cut with the Merriest Frames Dies.
  • The other greenery was cut with the Dies from Be Dazzling Paper.
  • All were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of gold Holiday Rhinestones were added to the center of the Poinsettia.

CCMC678 – Merriest Moments

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  We have a lovely color combination for you to try this week.  The black with the bright pink really pops!

MERRIEST MOMENTS

I wanted to use one of my new Christmas sets with these colors and thought the Merriest Moments Bundle would be perfect!  I almost didn’t get this bundle, but SO glad I did.  Love that the large background die can be cut AND embossed!  I did both, although it is hard to see since I used black.

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Polished Pink cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate cardstock.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic Black cardstock was embossed with the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder, then cut with the Merriest Moments Frames die.  It was added to the front
  • The frame was cut from Basic White cardstock with the frame in the die and stamped with the greeting in Memento Black Ink towards the right side.  It was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the embossed frame.
  • Two large flowers and two small flowers were stamped with Polished Pink Ink and two medium and two large leaves were stamped with Smoky Slate Ink.  All were cut with the Merriest Frames Dies.  They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The pink In Color Jewels were added to the center and one next to the greeting for a little bling!

I really love how this turned out and the non-traditional Christmas colors!  The pink almost looks neon next to the gray and black!  Go check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this color combination over on Create with Connie and Mary!

IM189 – In Symmetry

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have a fun retro floral print to inspire us!

 

IN SYMMETRY STAMP SET

It seems like the In Symmetry Stamp Set would be perfect for this challenge…and Mary seemed to think so, too, as she used the same set!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Daffodil Delight cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
    • A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Brights 6×6 DSP was added to the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock.
    • A zig zag border was cut from Basic Black cardstock with the Basic Borders Die and added to the front under the DSP.
    • Some Black Glitter Organdy Ribbon was tied around the Basic White panel and knotted on the front.
    • The greeting from In Symmetry was stamped with Memento Black Ink above the DSP.
    • The flowers were stamped with Daffodil Delight and the stems/leaves with Granny Apple Green Ink.
    • Some Matte Black Dots were added to the flower base.

CUTE HALLOWEEN DSP

Again, it was hard to choose ONE designer paper to use, but I do LOVE all the colors and images in Stampin’ Up!’s new Cute Halloween Designer Paper Pack.  I like that it has images you can cut or punch out!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pumpkin Pie cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.  The front was embossed with the Bark Embossing Folder.
  • A 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Basic Black was added to the front.
  • The 2-1/4 x 5 piece of Cute Halloween “Boo” DSP was added towards the left side on the front.
  • Next a 1/4 x 4-1/4 strip of Highland Heather cardstock was added under the 1 x 4-1/4 strip of polka dot Cute Halloween DSP then was added across the bottom front.
  • A 2-1/2 scallop circle was cut with the Layering Circle Dies from Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  A small dot was added to each of the scallops with a Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
  • Trick or Treat from Cutest Halloween stamp set was stamped with Pumpkin Pie Ink on scrap Basic White and cut with a smaller 2-1/8 Layering Circle.  It was added to the scallop circle, then popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The ghost from the DSP was punched with the Halloween Punch and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The candy corn from Cutest Halloween stamp set was stamped with Pumpkin Pie Ink on scrap Basic White and hand-cut, then added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two Matte Black Dots were added to the circle.
  • Some Black Glittery Ribbon was tied in a bow, then added to the front with Mini Glue Dots.
