CCMC638 – Dragonfly Garden

It’s Thursday! Time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Color Challenge! Today it is a nice, bright color combo!

Here’s what I did with the new Dragonfly Dreams stamp set that was offered as a special order for On Stage attendees. It will be available in the new January-June Mini Catalog. It’s SO cute!

Stampin’ Directions:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Bumblebee cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
I cut the Nested Label Die with the three colors, Bumblebee, Rich Razzleberry and Terracotta Tile cardstock, then lined them up on my grid paper and stamped the flowering stems with Memento Black Ink on top of them (at the same time).
The greeting was also stamped with Memento Black Ink.
Two dragonflies were stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Light Mango Melody and Rich Razzleberry combo Stampin’ Blends. They were punched with the Dragonfly Builder Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Wink of Stella was used on the wings.
Three Champagne Rhinestones were added to the labels.

IM149 – Freezin’ Fun

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! Isn’t this a beautiful winter tablescape theme?

Freezin’ Fun

I knew right away that I wanted to use the Freezin’ Fun Bundle on my card because of all the winter animals shown on the table! And, I borrowed a layout that I used a while ago on my Coming Home card…it worked great!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Seaside Spray cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- On top is the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock, embossed with the Winter Snow Embossing folder.
- A 2 x 5-1/4 piece of Plaid Tidings Designer Paper had two 1/2 x 3-3/4 strips of Poppy Parade cardstock adhered behind it, then was added to the front right of the card.
- The largest Stitched Shape Circle was cut from Seaside Spray and Whisper White cardstock, then the Whisper White circle was cut with the stitched slope from Freezin’ Friends Dies. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Some snowflakes were added to the Seaside Spray circle with Seaside Spray Ink.
- The large tree, penguin and snowboard were all stamped with Memento Black Ink, then colored with Shaded Spruce, Poppy Parade, Light Pool Party, Dark Mango Melody, Dark Smoky Slate and Light Basic Black Stampin’ Blends. They were cut with the Freezin’ Friends Dies and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The tree snow and snowboard were colored with Wink of Stella for a little bling.
- A trio of Red Rhinestones were added to the background and 1 for his pom pom hat.

Saturday Blog Hop – Home for the Holidays

Happy Saturday! This week’s blog hop theme is “Home for the Holidays”! One of the signs for Christmas is hanging stockings on the mantle, so I made this card using Stampin’ Up!’s host only stamp set, A Merry Hello!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 3-3/4 x 5 Whisper White cardstock was embossed with the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder.
A 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper was added to the bottom.
The Real Red Braided Trim Ribbon was wrapped around to the back and adhered.
Heartfelt Christmas was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Pear Pizzazz cardstock, then cut with the Tasteful Label Die.
The mantle is the label die from Snow Time Dies that has been trimmed down and embossed with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The stockings were stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Dark Granny Apple Green, Light Mossy Meadow and Dark Real Red Blends. They were hand-cut, with the string trimmed off, and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The white All The Trimmings Embellishments were added for the “hooks”.

CCMC637 – Warm & Toasty

Happy Thursday! Time for a new Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge! Isn’t this a fun sketch?

Here’s my card using the very sweet stamp set, Warm & Toasty!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party cardstock is added on top.
The 3 x 5 piece of Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper was added diagonally across the front.
A 2-1/2 x 5 piece of Whisper White cardstock was stamped with snowflake image with Pool Party ink randomly in the background.
A 1-1/2 x 5 piece of Whisper White cardstock was cut with the stitched curvy die from Freezin’ Friends Dies, then added to the front.
Pool Party cardstock was punched with the Classic Label Punch and cut, then added in the upper left corner. Two Snowflake Adhesive Sequins were added on top.
The polar bear from Warm & Toasty Stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Real Red, Old Olive and Light Pool Party. It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on the snow.

Isn’t he CUTE???? I borrowed this set from my girlfriend at a stamping retreat…so tempted to buy it for myself! OK…check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this sketch over on Create with Connie and Mary!

IM148 – Love of Leaves

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! Isn’t this a pretty, unusual necklace! I love the colors of the leaves!

Love of Leaves

I know I’ve mentioned it before…but I love the Stitched Leaves Dies that is part of the Love of Leaves Bundle. This inspiration necklace was a perfect excuse to pull it out again!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Very Vanilla cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- On top is the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake Plaid Tidings Designer Paper.
- FALL was cut with the Playful Alphabet Dies from the 1-1/4 x 4 piece of Soft Suede cardstock and adhered to the lower front.
- Happy was cut with the Well Written Dies from Early Espresso cardstock and adhered on front.
- The long narrow leaves were cut from Mint Macaron (2) and Soft Suede (1) cardstock with the Stitched Leaves Dies.
- The small leaves were cut from Balmy Blue (2) cardstock with the Stitched Leaves Dies.
- The larger leaves were cut from Seaside Spray (2) cardstock with the Stitched Leaves Dies.
- All the edges were sponged with Crumb Cake Ink and they were stacked and adhered down the left side.
- The flowers were punched with the Small Bloom Punch from Merry Merlot, Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla, sponged with Crumb Cake Ink and added to the leaves.
- The centers are the Elegant Faceted Gems in two colors.
- Some Linen Thread was folded in half and tied in a bow, then added under the flowers.

Don’t you love it? I think I captured the look of the Inspiration challenge, don’t you? Honestly, I tore it apart a couple times because I didn’t like the layout of the leaves…but finally got it right! Saturday Blog Hop – Thinking of Christmas

Happy Saturday and Happy Halloween! This week our CCM Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Thinking of Christmas”! It seems that previously after Halloween in the States, the retailers thoughts turn to Christmas! And now they are getting even earlier! Our stores have had Christmas products in them for weeks already! Crazy! As demonstrators, we often are thinking about the next season or holiday even before the current one is over, too! So…here are some Christmas ideas for you this week!

Can you guess how I made the poinsettia two-toned for more dimension?

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Old Olive cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock (I should have embossed this layer! lol!)
A 2-3/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper was added on top towards the left side.
One large, one medium, one small and two mini poinsettia petals were cut from Poppy Parade cardstock with the Poinsettia Dies. They were each sponged with the Frost Shimmer Paint, then layered together with Mini Glue Dots. It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two large and two small leaves were cut with the Poinsettia Dies from Old Olive cardstock and Frost Shimmer Paint added to the edges. They were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals under the poinsettia.
Two sprigs were cut from Brushed Gold Metallic Paper and tucked over the leaves.
A Beaded Pearl Jewel was added to the center.
Merry Christmas was stamped on a 3/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Whisper White cardstock. It was curled and tucked under the leaves on the front.
