Saturday Blog Hop – Fall Flowers

Happy Saturday! This week our Saturday Blog Hop them is “Autumn Flowers”! I was excited about this challenge because I knew I wanted to make a sunflower with the Poinsettia Dies!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Bumblebee cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock, sponged around the edges with Early Espresso Ink and embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.
The 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Gilded Autumn Designer Paper was added to the right side.
A 3/8 x 5-1/4 strip of Early Espresso cardstock was added across the front.
The “sunflower” was made by cutting three of the medium poinsettia with the Poinsettia Dies from Bumblebee cardstock and adhere together.
The center was cut from Early Espresso cardstock with the smallest Layering Circle Die and embossed with the Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folder, then added to the center of the sunflower.
The three leaves were cut with the Poinsettia Dies from Old Olive cardstock and sponged with Early Espresso Ink, then tucked under the sunflower.
Two sprigs were cut from Cajun Craze cardstock and added around the leaves.
The greeting from Banner Year was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on a 1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, then trimmed to fit under the flower.
A trio of Bumblebee In Color Enamel Dots were added for the background.

Isn’t that a pretty sunflower? And you get more for your buck from the Poinsettia Dies by using it for a different season. CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Hello Fall

This week on Create with Connie and Mary we are saying HELLO TO FALL for our Saturday Blog Hop! Lots of great stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog that represent fall…and a few surprises! I used the leaf vein in Falling for Leaves and the Framelit to make the petals of my Sunflower! Isn’t that FUN and makes that stamp set even more of a bargain since you could make flowers for ANY season with it!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
Along the bottom is a 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Country Lane Designer Paper.
The 3-1/2 x 4 piece of Galvanized Metallic Paper is embossed with the Corrugated Embossing Folder and then layered on a 3-3/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock. It is added to the base card towards the right side.
The sunflower petals were stamped with the “vein” leaf image in Falling for Leaves Stamp Set with Early Espresso Ink on Crushed Curry cardstock for 17 petals. They were cut with the Detailed Leaves Framelit.
Two 1-3/4″ circles were punched from Early Espresso cardstock and embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder.
The petals were added to the bottom circle, then the top piece added on top, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A Gold Faceted Gem was added to the circle.
Thankful from Falling for Leaves was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on 3/4 x 2-1/2 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, the end was cut in a point, and the other end tucked under the petals. It is popped up with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

To me, the Galvanized Metallic Background just really sets off that sunflower and says “HELLO to FALL!” OK…continue on with the Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop to see what the rest of the Design team has done with their Hello to Fall challenge this week! Painted Harvest

Love how quick a card can come together using the new Holiday stamp set, Painted Harvest. Unfortunately, my husband has a work friend that isn’t doing well. Cancer sucks! We sent her this card today to bring a little cheer during this difficult time.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Lemon Lime Twist, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 1 x 4 strip of Painted Autumn Designer Paper was added.
A length of 1/8″ Copper Trim was added to hide the seam.
The sunflower from Painted Harvest stamp set was stamped with Crushed Curry…stamped off the the solid image and full strength for the top image. The center was stamped with Chocolate Chip and the dots in the center with Chocolate Chip Ink, too. It was hand cut and added to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The leaves were stamped with Lemon Lime Twist on the solid and Garden Green for the veins, then used the Leaf Punch. They were adhered under the sunflower.
A few extra dot images were stamped with Lemon Lime Twist around the flower.
The Thinking of You greeting from Thoughts & Prayers stamp set was stamped with Chocolate Chip Ink.

Love the clean lines of this card!

CCMC470 Eastern Beauty

Well, today is THE day…I could use some positive thoughts and many prayers today! I’m having total knee replacement on my right knee. I’ve endured over 2 years with a painful knee and am finally doing it! Hopefully my recovery will be QUICK! I’m looking forward to walking again easily!

I’ve had sunflowers on the brain for the past week or so, and then I saw the sketch for this week and just knew I had to incorporate a large sunflower! I love the ones I’ve seen using the Eastern Beauty Bundle…so here’s my version.

The sketch looks more square, but I went with the traditional rectangle shape for my card.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Daffodil Delight cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
Down the left side is a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Painted Autumn Designer Paper (LOVE!)
The greeting from Eastern Beauty was stamped with Early Espresso Ink. This greeting seems to fit perfectly with the sunflower “face”…and seeing them always makes me smile!
The sunflower was made with two of the Eastern Medallions cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock and layered together.
The center was stamped with the circle in Eastern Beauty stamp set, then punched with the 2″ Circle Punch. It was embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. It was added to the “petals”, then to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The “leaves” were made by stamping the Eastern Beauty image with Old Olive Ink on Old Olive cardstock, then separating the petals to form the leaves. They were tucked behind the sunflower on the front.
A bow of Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine was tied in a knot and added to the center of the flower with Mini Glue Dot.
Yellow Glimmer Dots were added in the background.

Of course, I had to make a special card to celebrate the KICK OFF of PREVIEW WEEK! I used Beautiful Bunch again…just love that stamp set and punch! I think it makes a beautiful sunflower! This card is made up of almost all NEW stuff! Woohoo!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Mossy Meadow cardstock folded in half.
On the 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Crumb Cake, add a 1 3/4 x 4 piece of Lullaby Designer Paper with the Hello Honey Stripe.
Wrap around the Hello Honey Satin Stitched Ribbon and tie a knot.
Stamp Let’s Celebrate from Sumthin’ Sumthin’ in Mossy Meadow in the lower right corner.
Use the Fun Frame Impressions Folder with Whisper White cardstock, then cut out. Add to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp the Beautiful Bunch flower twice with Hello Honey on So Saffron cardstock and punch with the Fun Flower punch.
Stamp the flower again with Early Espresso Ink on Early Espresso, and punch out the center with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. Add to the flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals and add a Rhinestone Jewel.
Use the other flower image from Beautiful Bunch and stamp with Mossy Meadow Ink on Mossy Meadow cardstock, punch with the Fun Flower Punch, then cut the petals apart to use as leaves. Add to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Don’t you LOVE it??? I do!!!

CCMC265 – Magnificent Maple

We're continuing on with PREVIEW WEEK over on Create with Connie and Mary. It's the last few days to save with Early Bird Pricing! And here is my card using Magnificent Maple single stamp in the Holiday Catalog. This time I made a fall "sunflower" using the Pansy Punch. Have I said how much I love this punch???

Here are the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Crushed Curry, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5 1/4 Very Vanilla layer, I used the Scoring Tool and embossed a line around the edges at 1/4" on all sides. Just a little extra texture!
I cut three 1 x 2 1/2 panels of Sweater Weather Designer Paper and adhere them on top.
I stamped the Magnificent Maple leaf in Chocolate Chip on Pumpkin Pie cardstock and cut it out, then placed it on front.
I punched the Pansy punch three times with Crushed Curry cardstock, sponged the edges with Pumpkin Pie, then crumbled up the flowers and layered them together. I punched a 7/8 Scallop Circle of Chocolate Chip cardstock for the center and adhere with a Stampin' Dimensional.
In the center of the flower, I tied Linen Thread in the small Naturals button and adhered with a Mini Glue Dot.
Finally, I stamped Happy Birthday from the hostess only set, Express Yourself with Chocolate Chip on a 1/2" strip of Very Vanilla, cut the flag end and curled the edges a little.

Pretty, isn't it??? I love the fall feel of it! Putting me in the mood to see fall! lol! We have so many fall birthdays, it is nice to get a head start on them!

CCMC203 – Sunflower

Woohoo! Time for another sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary! Hope you take a few minutes and play along!

The minute I saw the background, I knew I'd use the Sunflower background stamp! Just thought it would work perfectly for the sketch! And…it uses my favorite color…Daffodil Delight!

I started with the base card of Daffodil Delight and added a layer of Early Espresso cardstock. I inked up the Sunflower background stamp with my Daffodil Delight, More Mustard and Early Espresso Stampin' Write Markers, then stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock. I added a trim of the Early Espresso Eyelet Border Punch (retiring soon!), and a sneak peek of the NEW ribbon…Daffodil Delight Stitched Ribbon. It is definitely YUMMY!

I punched the Large Tag Punch from More Mustard and ran it thru the Big Shot with the Houndstooth Impressions Folder. I added a Vintage Brad at the top. Then I stamped Mom from Family Reunion stamp set in Early Espresso on Daffodil Delight and punched with the Modern Label punch. It is popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

CCMC170 – Sunflower

Another Thursday Challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary that anyone can play along and this one is a sketch challenge! LOVE those! Make sure to check out what the Challenge Team did with this sketch…there is a HUGE variety!

I decided to use the Sunflower stamp in the background on mine! I just got this stamp and I love it!

I don't make these often, but I kept the Square shape and made a 5 x 5 sized card. For the Sunflower, I inked it up in Daffodil Delight, then took my markers and added More Mustard and Pumpkin Pie to the petals and Early Espresso in the center, then stamped it on Whisper White. I layered the White on Early Espresso with a base of More Mustard. I used the Tasteful Trim die and cut the rope trim from Early Espresso cardstock, and added two More Mustard Brads on the ends. I stamped Happy Birthday Wishes from Petite Pairs in Early Espresso on More Mustard and punched with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch, then layered it on 1 3/8 Circle of Early Espresso. Finally, I added a little embossed Beautiful Wings butterfly with small pearls for the body. I also added pearls up in the right corner. I think I'll give this to my mom for her birthday this month!
