It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge! This was a fun challenge to do and the Challenge Team really came up with totally different looks for this color combination! Make sure to check them out over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Here’s what I came up with using the cute little You’re Sublime stamp set:

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Night of Navy, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate.
Two crabs from You’re Sublime were stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White, watercolored with Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker and an AquaPainter, then cut out.
A 2-1/4 x 5 piece of Regals Night of Navy Polka Dot Pattern Paper was cut with the Triple Banner Punch, then added to the front.
A Calypso Coral tag was cut from the Project Life Labels and stamped with the greeting from Remembering Your Birthday in Night of Navy Ink. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The crabs were added on top of the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

July 2015 Tour de Freaks

It’s time for the monthly Tour de Freaks blog hop! I love seeing everyone’s cards and projects. This month the group is sharing the cards made for the Control Freaks Swap at Convention. I really hated not going and missing out on this swaps…always a highlight to meet up with this group at Convention! But…glad we get to see the ideas anyway! You’ve probably just come from Heidi Bak’s blog...love her ideas, don’t you?

I used the card I made for an earlier Control Freaks New Catalog swap. I have kept it under wraps until now! I also added a coordinating little Curvy Keepsake Box! Of course, I had to use my favorite You’re Sublime stamp set!

Here’s a closeup of the card:

I used Tip Top Taupe for the base
I added strips of Bermuda Bay, Lost Lagoon, Pool Party and Soft Sky adhered to a layer of Whisper White, then embossed it with Elegant Dots folder.
I wrapped the Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine around and tied a bow.
The sub was stamped with Tuxedo Black on Whisper White, colored with Pool Party and Smoky Slate, then stamped again on Hello Honey and cut the body of the sub out and paper pieced it over the Whisper White one. It is cut with the Circle Framelit and layered on the next size circle of Tip Top Taupe. The fish were colored with Tangelo Twist.
In the center of the sub portholes I used the Perfect White Accents and popped up the circles on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut the Curvy Keepsake Box from Pool Party cardstock, then stamped along the bottom with the Wild About Flowers stems in Mossy Meadow and Old Olive Inks. The fish were stamped with Tuxedo Black and colored with Tangelo Twist Marker.
At the top, I did the submarine the same way and stamped/cut a second one so I could adhere it back to back at the top of the sub. Then the sub fits down over the tabs of the Curvy Keepsake Box, but it easy to take off and open the box since it isn’t permanently attached.

SUOC127 You’re Sublime

The theme this week over on SUO Challenges is “Your Favorite New Stamp Set”. Well, that was a hard choice for me. I have several that I seem to pick up all the time, mostly flowers, of course. But this set, You’re Sublime, has grabbed my heart. I went to bed last night thinking about what type of card to make with this set and woke up with this idea in my head! lol!

I kind of borrowed Mary Brown’s CAS style with this card, too! But, isn’t he too cute sitting on the lily pad?

Here are the details for you to recreate this card:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pool Party, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, the splotches from Gorgeous Grunge was stamped twice with Pool Party Ink in the lower right corner.
Then the Sassy Salutations greeting was stamped with Black Stazon next to it.
The frog from You’re Sublime was stamped with Black Stazon on scrap Whisper White and watercolored with the Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow Markers and an AquaPainter. He was cut out.
The lily pad is the Extra Large Oval punched from Mossy Meadow cardstock, with a v cut out of one side. The flower is the Petite Petals Punch from Whisper White and the center is the Itty Bitty Flower from Daffodil Delight cardstock. A Perfect White Accent was colored with an orange Sharpie and added to the center.
Both the lily pad and the frog were popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop goes Metallica

The theme for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Design Team Blog Hop is Metallica! Using any of the fun metallic products that Stampin’ Up! offers! Could be metallic cardstock, vellum, twine, buttons, etc. So…I used a combination of different types!

But first, you can see Create with Connie and Mary has a new look…and that means a NEW session! We’re doing a MINI Session featuring sets in the new catalog! Check out the details on Create with Connie and Mary and for a sneak peek snippet of the projects we’ll be doing!

Ok, here’s the card…I did some fun paper piecing! There are THREE layers on my camper and it is made from the Silver Metallic Cardstock so it looks like metal!

The details if you want to recreate it:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Soft Sky, folded in half.
Next layer is 4 x 5-1/4 Whisper White, with a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Silver Polka Dot Vellum on top. (TIP: Place glue dots under the metallic dots to hide them on the front!)
Across the front is a 1 x 5-1/4 strip of Brights Pattern Designer Paper Stack.
Next, I stamped the little camper from You’re Sublime three times. First on Silver Metallic Cardstock with Black Stazon, then on Whisper White cardstock, then on Pool Party cardstock.
The Pool Party was cut with the Circle Framelit. The windows and door were cut from the Whisper White camper, colored with Real Red, Smoky Slate and So Saffron Markers, then adhered over the Silver camper. The Silver Camper was cut out and placed over the Pool Party camper. The wheel was colored with Smoky Slate Marker and the flag with So Saffron and Real Red.
The Pool Party Circle was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A Silver Metallic Button was tied with White Baker’s Twine, then added next to the circle on the front.

Isn’t that SOOOO fun? I love the metallic camper! It’s so shiny in real life!

You’re Sublime Flower Wheelbarrow

I love this little flower wheelbarrow in the You’re Sublime stamp set, but I just recently used it. Don’t know why I was “saving” it! I had used every other image in the set! I also am on a mission to use up the leftover class packets that I have. Too many times I don’t use them or make them up and it is just a growing pile on my desk. So, even though this wasn’t the card we made in class, it does use the elements in the packet in a different way! Kind of fun and challenging…and not much cutting involved!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Tip Top Taupe, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party.
The 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 layer of Bermuda Bay was embossed with the Elegant Dots folder.
Two strips of Cherry on Top DSP where crossed on the right side of the card.
The flower wheelbarrow image was stamped with Black Stazon, then using a Blender Pen and my Ink Pads, watercolored.
The image was stamped again on a scrap of the same DSP, then cut out around the flowers and paper pieced. Hopefully it ties the image together with the card!

CCMC360 You’re Sublime

Yes…since I had this You’re Sublime set out from making yesterday’s card, I went ahead and made my Create with Connie and Mary color challenge card with it, too! I thought the little camper would be fun done up in these colors!

So, here’s my card. Isn’t it fun?

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Island Indigo, folded in half.
Next is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White on top, then a 3 x 4-1/4 piece of Smoky Slate cardstock on top of that.
Across the front is a 1-1/4 x 4 piece of Neutrals Designer Paper in the stripe pattern. (I wanted it to look like the “road”.)
The camper was stamped with Black Stazon on Watercolor Paper and I used Island Indigo, Smoky Slate, Chocolate Chip and a hint of Real Red Markers to watercolor it. It was placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Island Indigo was punched three times with the Petite Petals Punch and centers with the Itty Bitty flower punch. The centers are my favorite new accessory, the Perfect White Accents.
Follow Your Heart from the You’re Sublime set was inked with the Chocolate Chip Marker and stamped on Whisper White, then punched with the Washi Tape Punch and tucked under the top flower.

You’re Sublime

Gosh…the days are going by SO quickly! I really have been hard at work in my studio, but all my projects are for future events…so not a lot to post on my blog! I made up this quick card this morning so you’d see I haven’t disappeared!

I’m loving this darling little set, You’re Sublime! Could definitely be used for kids cards, but I’m loving the cute critters in it for everyone!

Here are the details for this card!

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red, folded in half.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate is on top
A 2 x 3-1/4 piece of Everyday Chic Designer Paper was adhered to the bottom of a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Whisper White.
A snip of 1/4 Real Red Cotton Ribbon hides the seam (SEE MY RIBBON SHARES HERE!!!!)
The crab was stamped with Black Stazon Ink at the top and watercolored with the AquaPainter and Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker. A little Sahara Sand was watercolored at the base for grounding.
This panel was popped upon the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, a Red button was tied with Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine in a bow and placed on the front with a Mini Glue Dot.

OK…isn’t that just too stinkin’ cute? I think so! I hope YOU have a “snappy day”!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – You’re Sublime

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop and our theme for the month of June is INTERACTIVE cards and folds! This is going to be SO fun! Up first is designer, Debbie Henderson who chose the Pop-out Swing Card for our first one! You’ve probably just came from Deb’s blog…didn’t you love her card?

My new catalog order came in yesterday and I couldn’t resist using this fun new set, You’re Sublime, with this fun pop-out fold!

Here’s the front closed.

And here’s the inside:

Here are the details:

The outside is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Watermelon Wonder cardstock folded in half.
I used the Square Framelits to cut the frame out of the front panel, then used the same size again to cut a Cucumber Crush square.
The next size smaller was used to cut a Whisper White square to layer.
I stamped the frog from You’re Sublime with Black Stazon Ink and then watercolored with my AquaPainter and Mint Macaron, Cucumber Crush and Delightful Dijon Stampin’ Write Markers. I also used a little Sahara Sand for his shadow. Then I adhered to the Cucumber Crush layer.
Inside is a 5 x 6 piece of Whisper White, scored at 2 and 4 (with the 6″ at the top).
For the center panel, I cut a 2 x 5 piece of Cherry On Top Designer Paper Stack and adhered.
On the third panel, I used a circle punch to punch three circles along the top, Way to Go from Bravo stamp set was stamped with Cucumber Crush Ink, then adhered this panel to the inside of the Watermelon Wonder cardstock.
On the front I cut a 1 x 4-1/4 matching Cherry on Top DSP piece.
I adhered only the right side of the stamped image and Cucumber Crush squares to the front panel and allowed it to “swing” thru the opening on the front of the card.
To finish, I punched two stars with the Medium Star Punch from Silver Glimmer Paper and added to the front and inside with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
