Mediterranean Achievers Blog Hop – March 2016

Welcome to the March Mediterranean Achievers Blog Hop! Glad to have you stop by! Our theme this month is “Wedding Dreams”. I hope you are inspired by all of the lovely creations this month! You may be starting the blog hop at my blog, or have just arrived from the person before me. To continue, click on the name below or above me on the list at the bottom of this post! Usually I will make wedding cards personalized with the colors of the wedding…but since this one doesn’t have a recipient yet, I decide to use the neutral Sahara Sand color and a pretty Drapery Fold technique. Doesn’t it look fancy? I found several different patterns to use, but this one is inspired by Lyssa Zwolanek.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White.
The Neutrals Designer Paper in the Sahara Sand floral pattern was cut 4 x 11-1/2, then scored at 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, and 10. Cut from the 3″ score to approx 1-3/4″ down from top right corner to make the diagonal. Pleat the score lines.
The 3/8″ Crumb Cake Satin Stitched ribbon was wrapped around and adhered to the back of the DSP, then added the DSP to the front of the base card.
The Beautiful Bunch flower was stamped with Sahara Sand Ink on Thick Whisper White and the center stamped with Black Archival Ink. It was punched out with the Fun Flower Punch. Another Fun Flower was punched from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and adhered behind the stamped one. Then an additional Fun Flower was punched from Sahara Sand and two petals cut off (twice) for the leaves.
The flowers and leaves were put together with Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered to the front of the DSP over the ribbon. Slightly pinch the petals to curl the flower and leaves.
Forever Begins Today from Suite Sayings is stamped with Black Archival Ink in the lower right corner.
For some additional bling, an Iced Rhinestone was added in the center of the flower.

SUOC123 Beautiful Bunch Favor

Another fun SUO Challenge this time is to make a Sweet Treat! I decided to show the sweet treat favor I made for my Hawaii incentive trip 3D swap! These are filled with Mambo taffy candy. I made 28 of them for the swap and a couple friends…here they are ready to be packed in my suitcase!

I measured the candy, then added a couple inches to two 2″ strips of Pacific Point cardstock. I used the Scallop Tag Topper Punch on each end. I scored the top 3/4″ and 1″ from each end to help it “bend” around the candy.

The Beautiful Bunch flower was stamped twice with Pumpkin Pie (Rich Razzleberry or Daffodil Delight) Ink on Whisper White, then punched with the Fun Flower punch.
The leaves were the flower stamped with Old Olive Ink on Old Olive cardstock, punched, then cut the petals for leaves.
The center Petite Petal image was stamped with Old Olive Ink on Whisper White and punched with the Petite Petals punch, then added to the center. A Rhinestone jewel was put in the center.
I added a 1 3/4″ wide piece of Daffodil Delight to the top, added the flower and leaves. It’s Your Day from Fabulous Four was stamped with Pacific Point on a strip of Whisper White and cut with a flag end.

Here’s the side view. The candy was wrapped in the Brights Patterns Designer Paper and adhered to the bottom strip.

I need to send a card to someone who needs a little sunshine in their life! Of course, I pulled out my trusty Beautiful Bunch stamp set and favorite background set, Kinda Eclectic. With as many Christmas and Fall cards that I’ve made lately, it felt good to use a flower set again!

Here are the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Old Olive, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Whisper White, I stamped the polka dot background stamp in Stampin’ Up!’s Kinda Eclectic with Calypso Coral ink. Over that I stamped the sunburst with Hello Honey Ink. The greeting was stamped with Old Olive ink.
I used my Daffodil Delight Blendabilities Markers to color the Beautiful Bunch flower, then punched with the Fun Flower punch. I colored the center with the Old Olive Blendabilities and punched with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, then used a Dimensional to pop it up in the center of the flower.
I tied a double bow with the Old Olive Bakers Twine and added it with a Mini Glue dot to my flower.

Very simple, but love the coloring with Blendabilities on the CAS background! Don’t forget…today’s the last day of my 40% Adhesive Sale! Don’t miss out!

July Tour de Freaks…Free for All!

Woohoo! It’s time for the Tour de Freaks…brought to you by the Control Freak Swappers! You’ve probably just come from LeeAnn Greff’s blog…weren’t her projects fun? Since many of our swappers are at Convention (lucky!), it is ANYTHING GOES this month! Many will be sharing the swaps they made for Convention! Since I didn’t go this year (sob!), I did a set of items up with my favorite set, Beautiful Bunch.

I absolutely LOVE the colors on these flowers! I stamped Calypso Coral over Crisp Cantaloupe, then Blushing Bride over So Saffron for the centers! The leaves are Mossy Meadow stamped on Old Olive. They are SO striking in real life!

The holder is a ~~Crystal Light Container~~ (edit: sorry, it is a Great Value Drink Mix container) that I saved…after I removed the label, the base was the perfect shade of Sahara Sand!

I used Sweet Taffy Designer Paper to wrap around the container and the Deco Label Framelit of Whisper White under the flower. The Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon wraps around the entire container. I even decorated the top with more DSP and a little flower.

The base of the card is Calypso Coral and it really makes the flower POP! I used all the same supplies as the container, but added the greeting from And Many More and the scallop design from Boutique Borders with Mossy Meadow Ink on the Sahara Sand cardstock for a little extra whimsical look!

CCMC-SUM14 Week 4 Beautiful Bunch

Oh, wow! It’s the LAST day of the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Collection! Can you believe it? Where did the time go? It always goes by SO fast! Although I must admit, I’ve had my projects and cards done for several weeks because of getting ready for the Create LIVE event…I didn’t think I’d survive doing both at the same time! lol!

Anyway…the awesome Design Team has used this color combination for the Week 4 challenge:

And here is my card:

Of course…I’m using Beautiful Bunch again! I love how Lost Lagoon looks stamped on Whisper White to make this flower! Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Lost Lagoon folded in half.
I stamped the bottom 2/3s of the front with Hardwood Background Stamp with Lost Lagoon ink.
The pennant from the Pennant Die is cut from Sahara Sand cardstock.
I stamped the greeting from A Dozen Thoughts with Mossy Meadow on the pennant, then wrapped the Lost Lagoon Stitched Ribbon around the front and adhered in the back.
The Beautiful Bunch flower is stamped twice with Lost Lagoon on Whisper White and punched with the Fun Flower Punch. I stamped the center with Mossy Meadow on Mossy Meadow cardstock and punched with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I added a Rhinestone Jewel for some bling. It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the flower again with Mossy Meadow on Mossy Meadow cardstock and cut two of the petals for leaves, then tucked them behind the flower.

OK…yes…just mildly obsessed with this stamp set, Beautiful Bunch, right now! lol! Can you take another one? It’s a color challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary and I’m LATE getting my card done (real late!), so decided to pull out the set that gives me the quickest inspiration! lol!

Such patriotic colors…tomorrow is the 4th of July ALREADY! The summer is going much too fast! That always feels like the halfway point for me! But here is my card:

And the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Whisper White folded in half.
I rounded the left side corners of the 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock and placed on the base.
I used a 2 1/4 x 4 piece of red checked pattern from Maritime Designer Paper along the left side.
Next is a 4 x 3 1/4 piece of Whisper White that I rounded the corners on the left side.
I stamped the Flowering Flourishes (new to me!) with Coastal Cabana in the background.
Then I punched the flower from Beautiful Bunch twice with Real Red Ink on Whisper White and punched with the Fun Flower punch. I stamped the center with Night of Navy ink on Whisper White and punched with the 7/8 Scallop Circle Punch. The flower is put together using Stampin’ Dimensionals on placed over the Flowering Flourish.
I stamped Happy Birthday from And Many More in Night of Navy Ink in the bottom right corner.
Finally, I used the light red Blendabilities marker and colored my Rhinestones red for the center of the flower and along the edge! Love being able to do that!

As a side note…could I get some PRAYERS for my husband today…he is at a very important job interview today…his 4th face-to-face interview with this company! Wow! Stampin’ Up! Only Challenges is celebrating 100 challenges this week! WOOHOO!!! So, we are taking a “blast to the past” and using ANY of the 99 challenges we’ve done so far! You can check out the entire list over on SUO Challenges! Then grab your stamps and play along…there HAS to be a favorite of yours on there!!!

I used SUO Challenge #65 “Going Green” for my challenge! I thought my favorite stamp set right now, Beautiful Bunch, would look awesome done up in greens! I combined it with the Park Lane Designer Paper!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Mossy Meadow cardstock, folded in half.
I cut a 3 x 4 3/4 piece of the Park Lane Designer Paper and rounded the corners on the right side.
On the 1 1/2 x 4 piece of Basic Black, I stamped Hello from Four You Stamp Set with White Craft Ink and corner rounded the right corners, too.
I added a 1/2 x 4 piece of Gold Glimmer Paper under the Basic Black cardstock, and rounded the corner at the bottom.
I stamped the Beautiful Bunch Flower twice with Mossy Meadow Ink on Pear Pizzazz and punched with the Fun Flower Punch. The center I stamped with Pear Pizzazz on Whisper White and punched with the 7/8 Scallop Circle Punch. All the layers are popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For some bling, I added a Pearl in the center and two pearls on each side.

Beautiful Bunch Again!

OK…yes, I admit it…I’m slightly obsessed with Beautiful Bunch right now. I honestly did not think I would like it as much as I do! It’s easy because it has the coordinating punch. And, quite simply, it makes beautiful cards so easy to make! And, this time I only used a single bloom instead of the double that I’ve been doing. I also matched it with the GORGEOUS, YUMMY Gold Soiree Designer Paper. I finally cut into it! I love the silky feel to the paper and the shimmery gold in it!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Pistachio Pudding and I rounded the corners on the bottom.
I cut a 3 x 6 piece of Gold Soiree Designer Paper, then placed it at an angle going across the top of the card and snipped off the excess.
I added a 1/4 x 5 piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock across the seam, and trimmed off the excess.
Let’s Celebrate from Sumthin’ Sumthin’ was stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink on a diagonal.
I stamped the Beautiful Bunch flower with Calypso Coral Ink on Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock and punched with the Fun Flower Punch. I stamped it again with Mossy Meadow Ink on Pistachio Pudding cardstock and punched with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch.
I added a little rhinestone in the center for a little bling!

It’s a WOW for me! Although the design is very CAS, the Gold Soiree shimmers in the background and the flower pops! I love it!
