Oh So Succulent & BLOG CANDY!

Hurray! I’ve finally had a chance to use my new preorder products. With my dad having quadruple bypass surgery unexpectedly last week, I have been back and forth to the hospital.

But…today I get to share a card I made with the awesome new set, Oh So Succulent and matching Succulent Framelits! It is also my turn to offer the Create with Connie and Mary HOLIDAY BLOG CANDY. Here are the details…

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Garden Green cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to form base card.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 1-1/2 x 4 strip of Succulent Garden Designer Paper was placed along the bottom.
A 1/2 x 4 strip of Garden Green cardstock was placed across to hide the seam.
A piece of 1/8″ Gold Ribbon was added over the strip and adhered to the back to secure.
The succulents from Oh So Succulent Stamp Set were stamped with Calypso Coral, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz and Sweet Sugarplum Inks on scrap Whisper White and cut with the Succulents Framelits. They were added to the top of the Whisper White layer.
The greeting from Oh So Succulents was stamped with Garden Green Ink under the succulents.
Some Gold Sequins were added to the front for a little bling!

Greetings from Santa

Over on Create with Connie and Mary, we are giving away HOLIDAY BLOG CANDY this week! Today we have another of the Design Team giving away a FREE subscription to our December Mini Session! Today’s card is one that I did in my Stitched Shapes Class a couple weeks ago! It was my favorite of all the cards we did and was inspired by a couple different cards that I combined together to get this look!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Soft Sky cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Chocolate Chip cardstock.
On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White, the snowflakes in Greetings from Santa were stamped several times with Soft Sky Ink diagonally across the front. An AquaPainter and Soft Sky Ink added a little “ground”.
The Greetings from Santa saying was stamped with Chocolate Chip Ink in the upper left corner.
The Circle Stitched Shape was cut from Soft Sky cardstock and stamped with more snowflakes. Another portion of the circle was cut from Whisper White, torn, and placed as the “snow” at the bottom of the snowglobe.
The base of the snowglobe was cut from Metallic Silver cardstock with the Jar of Love Framelit.
One of the trees was stamped with Emerald Envy on the Soft Sky circle and the deer with Chocolate Chip (above the snowline). Another tree was stamped on scrap Soft Sky cardstock and hand cut, then popped up on the front.
A Metallic Silver Star was added to the globe in the sky.
The snowglobe was popped up on the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Isn’t that fun? I love how it turned out!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Gold, White and a Color

Woohoo, it’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week’s theme is a color challenge…Gold/White/Any Color! I chose Crumb Cake…a neutral for my “any color” as I thought it went well with the Gold & White. I pulled out a lot of different “gold” elements for this card…was kind of fun mixing and matching them!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock.
At the bottom, Noel was inked with Versamark, then embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.
The large swirl from Swirly Scribbles Framelits was cut from Gold Metallic Cardstock and added to the top.
Several pine branches from Pretty Pines Thinlets were cut from Whisper White and added to the bottom of the “wreath”.
The solid pinecone backs were cut from Gold Glimmer Paper and the lacy tops from Gold Metallic Cardstock, and adhered together with Tombow Multipurpose Glue, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A length of Gold Baker’s Twine was tied in a bow and added to the top of the pine cones.
Since I thought the background was too plain, I added some splatter from my Gold Wink of Stella by tapping it against a pen. Love just the touch of glimmer it adds to the background!

Definitely have a wonderful combination of the gold products that Stampin’ Up! offers! I love how “royal” this card looks! lol!

CCMC436 Yummy Little Christmas

It’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge and we have a pretty non-traditional Christmas color combination, although the Silver does had that touch of sparkle the holidays usually bring!

I used a stamp set that I bought to make a card set for the Create with Connie and Mary November Mini Session…the cards turned out SO cute and it really is a fun stamp set to play with! Using these colors really takes it in a different direction!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
Across the top of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Soft Sky, the medium size utensil “snowflake” was randomly stamped with Soft Sky Ink.
Along the bottom is a 1-1/2 x 4 piece of In Colors Patterns Paper Stack.
To hide the seam, a piece of the Silver Glitter Ribbon was added and secured in the back.
The mixer and greeting from Yummy Little Christmas were placed on one clear block, then stamped with Versamark on Whisper White cardstock and embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. It was cut with the large Stitched Shapes Oval Framelit and then layered on the larger Scallop Oval cut from Sweet Sugarplum carsdtock. The oval was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Love the details of the stitching, the embossing…and the scalloped oval all together! Make sure to check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did this week with the color challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Merry Mice again

Remember the other two cards I’ve done with the trio of mice image? Here’s the last one! So fun creating cards by using them individually (but now I need to do one with them all together, right?)

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Emerald Envy, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White.
Over that is a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Presents and Pinecones Designer Paper with the Cherry Cobbler print.
A 1-1/2 x 4 strip of the striped pattern (my favorite in this package!) was laid across the front.
The little mouse was stamped with Black Stazon, then colored with Blender Pen and Ink Pads. She was cut out and added to the small Stitched Shapes Oval Framelits.
A 1/4 x 4 strip of Red Glimmer Paper was placed across the front and over the oval so it looks like she is walking on it! lol!
The greeting from Merry Mice was stamped with Emerald Envy Ink on 1/2″ strip of Whisper White and cut with a flag end, then tucked behind the oval.
Some sweet Emerald Envy Enamel Dots finish off the background!

Love it!

For my card today, I combined a LITTLE sneak peek of a product in the Occasions Catalog with the cute stamp set, Merry Mice!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Warmth & Cheer Designer Paper Stack.
Across the front is a 1 x 5-1/4 strip of Pacific Point, stamped with the greeting in Merry Mice with Black Stazon Ink.
Along the bottom of that is a 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Silver Glimmer Paper…love how it sparkles!
The mouse is stamped with Black Stazon on Whisper White and watercolored with the AquaPainter and NEW WATERCOLOR PENCILS!!! They are REALLY nice and smooth to use! Love them!
The Oval was cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelit (largest one). It is placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

SUOC163 Tin of Tags

On a personal note: Prayer warriors…please say a prayer for my dad, Jerry, today as he undergoes open heart bypass surgery. Pray for the skill of the physicians and the staff caring for him and for his recovery and continued health! Thank you!

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is Holiday Elegance! Oh so many ways you could go with this theme! I chose to continue with my love of embossing and picked the snowflake from Tin of Tags as the focal images on my card! It is SO pretty in real life!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Silver Glimmer Paper. (To save this beautiful paper, I did cut a big rectangle out of the center!)
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White cardstock has been randomly stamped with the Snowflake from Tin of Tags stamp set with Versamark Ink, then embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.
Joy to the Word from the same Tin of Tags stamp set is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Whisper White and cut with the circle Stitched Shape Framelit. Then layered on the Layering Scallop Circle Framelit cut from Silver Metallic Cardstock.

As I said, lots of shimmer and shine on this card…which truly represents Holiday Elegance for me! Check out what the others on the SUO Challenge Design Team came up with this time! I’m sure there will be some BEAUTIFUL cards as this group is SO talented!

Suite Seasons

I recently held a FREE class for those that purchased the Stitched Shapes Framelits! This was one of the cards we made so they could learn how to extend the square into a rectangle shape! What you really can’t see is the wonderful SPARKLE of the Real Red Glitter Embossing Powder on the greeting!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Garden Green, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of This Christmas Specialty Designer Paper in the stripe pattern.
Across the front is a 1-1/2 x 4 strip of coordinating This Christmas Specialty DSP in the print pattern.
The square Stitched Shape Framelit was extended into a Rectangle Shape with Very Vanilla cardstock. The greeting from Suite Seasons was stamped with Versamark and then covered with Real Red Glitter Embossing Powder. You do need to heat this type of embossing powder a little longer to really “set” it.
The Very Vanilla rectangle was layered on Garden Green cardstock and placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The holly leaves were punched with the Holly Berry Builder Punch from the green checked print in This Christmas DSP, the berries were punched from Red Glimmer Paper. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I think that stitching really adds a lot to the greeting panel, don’t you?
