IM12 Blooms & Wishes

It’s time for Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! I love the abstract look to this floral photo and those bright blooms! So many different directions you can use for inspiration, right?

Here’s what I did with the Blooms & Wishes stamp set. I wanted something that looked a little watercolorish. Came out clean and simple, just like the inspiration photo!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Melon Mambo cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The top 2/3s of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock was stamped with one flower in Blooms & Wishes in Melon Mambo Ink and the other flower with Pink Pirouette Ink.
A 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of the green stripe Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Paper was placed at the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White.
A 1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Melon Mambo cardstock was placed across the seam. Then the 1/8″ Old Olive Ribbon was placed on top of the Melon Mambo and adhered in the back.
The greeting from Blooms & Wishes was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Old Olive cardstock and punched with the Tailored Tag punch, then layered on another Tailored Tag punched from Pink Pirouette and offset slightly. They tag was placed on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Saying Goodbye Favorite SAB

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! It’s time for a new Saturday Blog Hop! There is only a few more weeks of Sale-a-bration left, so the Design Team thought we’d feature our favorite SAB product by saying “goodbye”! It is going to be hard to put a lot of the SAB products on my retired shelf! But, I think my favorite right now is the new Springtime Foils Designer Paper. I JUST got it and don’t know why I waited so long! I think I need to stock up before it goes away for good! I matched it with the greeting from a Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Heartfelt Blooms.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pumpkin Pie cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
A 3 x 3-3/4 piece of Springtime Foils Designer Paper was added to a 3-1/8 x 3-7/8 piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, then adhered to the front.
A 3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock was added across the front and stamped with the greeting from Heartfelt Blooms in Memento Black Ink.
One of the flowers from the Springtime Foils DSP was colored with Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Markers, then hand-cut out and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A Gold Faceted Gem was added to the front for some extra bling.

I’m SO excited about this card…I can’t wait to make some more! It is so gorgeous with that metallic DSP in the background and on the flower.

CCMC501 Epic Celebrations

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! We enjoyed our “500th challenge celebration” week and appreciate all those that commented! But this week is a pretty color combination to get you even more ready for spring! I went with Epic Celebrations stamp set on my card this week!

Of course the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Paper has these colors in it, so I pulled it out to use! And, I hadn’t used Epic Celebrations very much…I love these tennis shoes! Did you know YOU can get this set FREE with a $50 order?

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Bermuda Bay cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Bubbles & Fizz DSP was placed at the top of the base.
The 4×4 Whisper White was cut on a curve and a 3/4 x 4 piece of Bubbles & Fizz DSP added to the bottom.
The greeting and shoes were stamped on the Whisper White with Memento Black Ink, then colored with the Lemon Lime Twist marker.
The dots in the background were stamped randomly with Calypso Coral Ink.
A length of 1/8 Bermuda Bay Sale-A-Bration ribbon hides the seam at the bottom, and the Whisper White layer was adhered to the base card.
Finally, the green Tutti-Frutti Adhesive Sequins were added to the background.

FUN card, isn’t it? My grandson is going to get this one for Easter because he LOVE shoes! Well…I guess ALL my grand kids are really into shoes. They get it from their dads! lol!

SUOC196 Tranquil Tulips

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is “Spring Has Sprung”. With the recent cold snap, I’m REALLY wishing that spring was already here in Ohio! Soon! So, I thought I’d use my Tranquil Tulips stamp set to celebrate spring. My mom always had gardens of tulips around their house when I was growing up!

Doesn’t that look like spring? I love the color yellow…my grand-daughter and I had a recent conversation about colors. My favorite has been yellow for a LONG time! Hers has been pink! lol! I also combined this challenge with an anniversary card that I needed for my in-laws.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Soft Sky, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Paper was placed along the left side.
The 3-1/4 x 4-1/2 Whisper White was stamped with the stems in Old Olive, the solid blossom with So Saffron and the darker blossom in Crushed Curry. Inside are the black stamens.
The Whisper White was layered on a 3-3/8 x 4-5/8 piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock, then added to the front.
Happy Anniversary from Best Birds was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and punched with the Tailored Tag Punch, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

IM11 Best Birds

It’s time for Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! Isn’t this glass bowl gorgeous? Look at all the detail on here! The blue birds actually remind me of all the blue jays we see in our back yard! There must be 6 or more of them back there at any time! Therefore, I decided to use the Best Birds stamp set for my card. I haven’t used that set in quite a while.

Here’s what I did:

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pool Party cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
A 1-1/2 x 5 piece of Naturally Eclectic Designer Paper was cut with a flag end, then added across the front.
A length of Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon was tied across the front.
The bird, branch and flowers were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, then colored with Stampin’ Blends and cut with the Birds & Blooms Thinlits. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Best Birds stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Shades of Green

It’s time for a new Saturday Blog Hop! Continuing with our celebrations…this week our Design Team will be featuring Shades of Green (or St. Patrick’s Day!) With no St. Patrick’s Day stamps in the catalogs, except for the greeting in Teeny Tiny Wishes, I had to get creative!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5 x 10 Thick Whisper White, scored at 5 and folded.
Four 2×2 panels of green stripe Tutti-Frutti Designer Paper were added on front.
Four Sweet & Sassy Hearts were cut with the Framelits from the Lemon Lime Twist check pattern in Tutti-Frutti DSP, and added to the squares.
Smaller hearts were cut with the framelits from Garden Green cardstock and added to the larger hearts.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day was stamped with Garden Green Ink on a strip of Whisper White and adhered to the panel.
A Gold Faceted Gem was placed in the center where the squares come together.

Don’t you love the shades of green and the easy four leaf clover it made? FUN!

CCMC500 Party Pandas

WOOHOO!!! It’s a party! Create with Connie and Mary are celebrating their 500th Thursday Challenge! Can you believe it? When we started, we hardly believed that we would still be doing these challenges every week many years later! We appreciate our past and current Challenge Team members and LOVE their creativity!

And I went with the theme of PARTY with the PARTY PANDAS stamp set and used the Picture Perfect Party Designer Paper with it! LOVE that confetti photo paper!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Bermuda Bay cardstock.
Two strips of Myths and Magic Glimmer Paper sized 3/4 x 4 and 1/4 x 4 were added to the sides of the 3 x 4 piece of confetti paper in the Picture Perfect Party Designer Paper pack and adhered on top of the Bermuda Bay cardstock.
A 1 x 2-3/4 piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock was added to the front with a 1/8 x 3-1/2 strip of Basic Black cardstock on top.
The panda and party hat from Panda Party was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White and hand-cut. The hat was colored with Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay and Berry Burst Stampin’ Write Markers.
Love You from Panda Party was stamped with Memento Black on the Lemon Lime Twist piece.

IM10 Blooming Basket

It’s time for Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! LOVE this cake inspiration, don’t you? I’m wishing I had a slice of it…looks yummy! I’m always in awe of people who can create cake masterpieces. Definitely NOT in my skill set! lol!

OK…here’s the card I came up with…using the fabulous new Blooming Basket stamp set (available only has a FREE Sale-A-Bration selection!) and that wonderful Basket Weave Embossing Folder just really makes it stand out, doesn’t it?

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock was embossed with the Basket Weave Embossing Folder.
Two pieces of Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon was added to the left side (LOVE the added sparkle!)
The basket was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 3-1/8 x 3-1/8 square of Thick Whisper White cardstock and colored with the Pool Party, Pink Pirouette and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. Oh, and some light Basic Gray for the shadow at the bottom. Wow…those make coloring SO easy!
The square was layered on a 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The tag was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White, colored and hand-cut then adhered to the basket.
For You greeting was inked with a Basic Black Marker then stamped on a scrap of Pool Party cardstock, then punched with a 1-3/8″ Circle Punch. The top was cut off and then tucked under the basket layer.
