CCMC504 Sweet Soiree DSP

Today we have a fun sketch for you to try over on Create with Connie and Mary! I knew I wanted the Sweet Soiree Designer Paper to be the star on my card, so the stamping is minimal…only the greeting from Sunshine Sayings is actually stamped! The entire card came together pretty quickly!

I went with using three different patterns in the background…and a fourth by cutting out one of the cakes from the DSP!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Marina Mist, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
The Sweet Soiree Designer Paper was cut to 2-1/2 x 3-3/4 and two pieces cut 1-3/4 x 2-1/4, then added to the Whisper White layer.
A scallop square was cut from Marina Mist with the Layering Squares Framelits.
The Stitched Shape Framelit square was cut from Whisper White to fit inside the Marina Mist scallop square.
One of the cakes was hand-cut from the Designer Paper and added to the stitched square with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A couple Rhinestones were added to the center of the flowers on the cake.
Happy Birthday from Sunshine Sayings was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White, then punched with the Classic Label punch.

NOTE: For my aunt’s 90th birthday, I’m giving her card and added the numbers 90 to the top of the cake cut from Silver Foil with retired Sizzix numbers. Love being able to personalize my cards this way!

IM14 – Touches of Texture

It’s time for Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! I love the abstract look to this series of paintings (in fact, I’d love to hang this in MY home!) So, I wanted my card version to have the same feel as the painting and pulled out my Touches of Texture stamp set…an oldie, but goodie!

Here’s what I designed…what do you think?

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pool Party cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock was sponged at the bottom and top with Island Indigo Ink, going from dark at the edges and lighter towards the center. An area closer to the top was left completely white.

Here’s a photo of the stamp set I used so you can see the texture images I chose:

The smaller/denser spatter spray (for the flower) was used with Crushed Curry Ink across the white portion of the Whisper White layer.
The lacy “stem” was stamped four times full strength below the flower “heads” with Island Indigo Ink, then stamped off several times in between the “stems”.
The greeting from Lots of Happy was stamped with Island Indigo on Whisper White, then punched with the Tailored Tag punch. (I love that this stamp set coordinates with the Tailored Tag!)
A length of Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon was wrapped around the front and secured behind the Whisper White layer, then the tag added with Stampin’ Dimensionals on top.
The little draonfly was stamped with Island Indigo Ink on scrap Whisper White, colored with the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends, then cut out by hand and added to the tag.

CCMC503 Truly Tailored

Well, this week’s Thursday Challenge on Create with Connie and Mary definitely has a masculine feel! So, I pulled out my Truly Tailored stamp set, Tailored Tag Punch and True Gentleman Designer Paper and went to work!

Here’s what I came up with! I love these shirt cards and have made several for family members! This one is lots of fun because the pocket holds a gift card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Tranquil Tide cardstock.
The pocket was cut from the plaid pattern in True Gentleman Designer Paper with the Pocket Framelits. The sides and bottom only were adhered so that the top is open for the gift card to slide in. It was adhered to Night of Navy cardstock that was trimmed around the pocket shape and then added to the front of the card.
The Today is Your Day greeting from Truly Tailored was stamped with Night of Navy Ink on a 1 x 2-1/2 piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and added to the pocket.
The collar was made from a 1 x 3-1/4 piece of plaid designer paper cut on an angle, then added to a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and trimmed around for a border. It was adhered at the top of the card.
Some silver Metallic Shapes were placed on the collar point and the top of the pocket.
Two True Gentleman buttons were added to the right side with Mini Glue Dots.

SUOC197 – Cake Soiree

Well..this is it. My last SUO Challenge. After five years I will be stepping down from the SUO Challenge Design Team. It was perfect timing as the blog will be changing ownership. I will miss the awesome design team I work with, but am sure I will see them around on other challenges and the big wide web! So, the last theme for me on SUO Challenges is “Encouragement”. How appropriate! I decided to use a general “For You” as I use this a lot when words don’t seem to cover exactly what I want to say. But this is for you…Robin Messenheimer…to thank you for the WONDERFUL job you did running the SUO Challenge blog! It has been a wonderful source of inspiration! I’m happy we actually met in person when I visited you in Hawaii!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Marina Mist cardstock, scored at 5-1//2 and folded.
A 4×4 piece of Sweet Soiree Designer Paper was placed along the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White.
The Berry Burst Metallic Ribbon is wrapped around the seam and secured in the back.
A tag from the Sweet Cake Framelits (FREE for Sale-A-Bration!) was cut from Crumb Cake. I have to admit, that tag is worth the entire set…love the lacy look along the bottom!
The open flowers were cut from Calypso Coral and Berry Burst with the Framelits, added to Powder Pink cardstock. The Calypso Coral one has also been sponged with Calypso Coral Ink. They were added to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For You from Cake Soiree was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
The leaves were cut from Old Olive with the Framelits and added to the tag, then the tag added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Hippity Hoppity Easter Favor

Most of you know that the reason I started selling Stampin’ Up! was because of the cool 3D items that I could make using stamps and products. AND…because the color coordination of Stampin’ Up! products appeals to my “control” tendencies. They make it SO easy! Well…Easter is one of those times that I LOVE to make little 3D favors for my Easter table. So, this week on the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop we are featuring Easter favors! Hope you get some FUN ideas! And, since I love the little bunny in Garden Girl, I had to feature her again on my Silver Mini Gable Box!

Stampin’ Details:

The base one of the Silver Mini Gable Boxes. They are just the perfect size for putting in some Easter grass and candy!
The sides are decorated with a 1-3/4 x 12 piece of the polka dot pattern in Bubbles & Fizz Designer Paper (one of the FREE Sale-A-Bration Level 1 selections!).
The flower row image in Garden Girl was stamped twice with Memento Black Ink on a 1-3/4 x 3-1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock, then colored with Stampin’ Blends. It was adhered to a 2 x 3-3/4 piece of Old Olive cardstock.
The bunny was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, then colored with the Smoky Slate and Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends. The puffy tail is colored with the Clear Wink of Stella.

The tag was made by punching the Tailored Tag from Calypso Coral cardstock and adding a Daffodil Delight 1-3/8″ Scallop Circle punch. Over that is a Classic Label stamped with Happy Easter from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched from Whisper White cardstock.
The butterfly from Garden Girl is stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends, then handcut and adhered to the tag with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
A 1/4″ circle was punched in the tag and a Rhinestone added for some bling.
The top is tied closed with some Calypso Coral Shimmer Ribbon (another free Sale-a-bration selections) and the tag tied on.

LOVE it! I think my grand-daughter will get this one in her Easter basket this year! Now to figure out what to do with the boys! lol!

It’s Thursday! Time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge! Did you know you can now play along easier? Create your card using the sketch, then add it to our Inlinkz at the bottom of the post over on Create with Connie and Mary! We love to see what you do with it! So here’s the sketch for this week. I used Garden Girl and the sweet little bunny for my card.

I just love that little bunny in this set!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Smoky Slate cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Fresh Florals Designer Paper was added on top of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
A 1 x 3-1/2 strip of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock was placed across the front, then a 1/8 x 4-1/4 strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper was adhered over it.
The bunny from Garden Girl stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Smoky Slate, Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends. Some Lemon Lime Twist ink was watercolored under the bunny. The tail was colored with Clear Wink of Stella. So sweet! It was cut with the Stitched Shapes circle.
The circle was adhered to a slightly larger scallop circle of Smoky Slate cut with Layering Shapes Circles, the adhere on a larger Layering Shapes Circle of Smoky Slate. Gives it a real tone-on-tone dimensional look! It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Classic Label was punched from Powder Pink cardstock and shortened.
Happy Easter was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock and punched and shortened with the Classic Label punch, too. They labels were popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

March 2018 Alaska Achievers Blog Hop

I’m happy this month to be able to play along again this month with the Alaska Achievers Monthly Blog Hop! This blog hop is for those of us who have earned the Stampin’ Up! I’ve used a couple Sale-A-Bration items on my cards…Heartfelt Blooms stamp set and the awesome Springtime Foils Designer Paper. The Calypso Coral card also has the SAB Shimmer Ribbon on it! I’m going to be SO sad when I can’t use these products regularly anymore…they are just gorgeous. The Heartfelt Blooms stamp set really makes stamping SO easy! The image does all the work for shading.

It is hard to tell from the photos, but the polka dots is a Copper Foil an the stripe is a Silver Foil. I thought they complemented the colors really well!

Stampin’ Details:

The Base is either 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Berry Burst or Calypso Coral cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Springtime Foils Designer Paper (a FREE Sale-A-Bration Level 1 selection!)
The FREE Shimmer Ribbon in Calypso Coral (or Berry Burst Metallic Edge Ribbonn from the Occasions catalog), was wrapped around the DSP and tied in a bow.
The Heartfelt Blooms image was stamped with Berry Burst or Calypso Coral Ink on a 3 x 3-3/4 piece of Whisper White and layered on a 3-1/4 x 4 piece of Basic Gray or Old Olive cardstock.
The layers were placed at angles on the front of the card over the ribbon.
Thank you from Heartfelt Blooms was stamped on a 5/8 x 2 piece of Whisper White, cut with a flag end and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Isn’t it fun how different each of them look with the different colors?

Control Freaks March 2018 – Beautiful Bouquet

I must admit…I LOVE my flower stamp sets…I have way too many, but they are always the first ones to catch my eye in the new catalogs! You’ve probably just come from Wendy Weixler’s blog…love her projects, don’t you? Just click on the link below to take you around the entire blog hop for some GREAT inspiration!

Lots of Lavender

Lots of Lavender was the FIRST Sale-A-Bration set that I just HAD to have. You know…it is a FLOWER! But, I also have loved seeing the flower turned upside down as Wisteria! I enjoyed driving thru Alabama on Spring Break heading to Florida, and seeing the Wisteria blooming in the small towns we went thru! I combined the Lots of Lavender stamp set with the Picture Perfect Birthday greetings!

Here’s the card:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Old Olive cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The Wisteria from Lots of Lavender is stamped with Memento Black Ink ramdonly across the front and sides of the 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock, then two-step stamped with Wisteria Wonder and Old Olive Inks.
Happiest of Birthdays from Picture Perfect Birthday is stamped with Memento Black Ink in the lower right corner.
The Tailored Tag Punch was punched from Wisteria Wonder and Old Olive cardstock, then added to the left side and cut off the edge of the Whisper White.
Three different sizes of the green Glitter Dots were added to the tag.

I used the Window Box to create a basket by cutting off the “lid” of the box.

The box base is made by cutting the Window Box Thinlit, you’ll need two cut from Old Olive cardstock and put together on the sides and bottom. (Cut off the lid.)
I cut six 1-5/8″ squares of Whisper White and stamped the lavender/wisteria on them as above and adhered them to the sides.
I added a 1 x 8-1/2 strip of Old Olive for the handle.
It is filled with white Sweet Soiree Readie Shreddie.
The greeting from Picture Perfect Birthday’s stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Wisteria Wonder cardstock and punched with the Tailored Tag punch. A 1/8″ hole was punched in the edge and tied on to the handle of the basket with Gold Tinsel Trim. Another green Glitter Dot was added to the tag, too.
