CCMC434 Wonder of Christmas

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

I told you last week that I used last week’s sketch for the Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge this week! Isn’t it fun how different it actually looks?

Here’s what I did using Stampin’ Up!’s Wonder of Christmas stamp set!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock.
A 2 x 4 piece of Warmth & Cheer Designer Paper was added across the front.
On the 3 x 3-1/4 Whisper White, a coordinating 1 x 3 piece of Warmth & Cheer DSP was added to the bottom, plus a small 1/8″ x 3 piece of Gold Glimmer Paper. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The angel from Wonder of Christmas was stamped with Black Stazon, then colored with Delightful Dijon, Cherry Cobbler, and Crumb Cake Markers with a Blender Pen. A little bit of Blushing Bride colored her face, hands and feet.
Over top of the dress, the Gold Wink of Stella was added…so pretty and sparkly! Then the Clear Wink of Stella was added to the wings. The angel was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A few stars from the Star Border Punch were punched from Gold Glimmer Paper and added to the background.

The theme this week on SUO Challenges is Holiday Cuteness! Well, there certainly is a LOT of Holiday Cuteness going around in the Holiday Catalog! Made it hard to choose what set I wanted to use! But, I just did get the Merry Mice Stamp Set with some host rewards, so pulled it out again to use it on this week’s challenge! Instead of using the trio of mice, I stamped them and cut each one out individually and colored them. You’ll be seeing each of them over the next few days! This set is really SO much cuter in person than in the catalog!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The top portion of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Mint Macaron is embossed with the Holly folder.
A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Presents & Pinecones Designer Paper is placed across the front, then a 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Red Glimmer Paper was added on top.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink under the DSP.
The trio of mice were stamped with Black Stazon Ink on Whisper White, then cut out separately. I colored this one with Emerald Envy, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate Markers and Blender Pen, then carefully cut around him.
I added him to the Stitched Circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals, added some Red Thread in loops behind the circle, then placed it on the front of the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I did color a little bit of the ground with Smoky Slate for his shadow.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop Non-Traditional Colors

This week’s Saturday Blog Hop over on Create with Connie and Mary features non-traditional Christmas colors! Any more, though, anything goes and there is so much variety! So, I had a hard time thinking of something that was really “non-traditional”! lol!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Flirty Flamingo, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to make the base card.
Merry Medley Background stamp was inked with Smoky Slate, then stamped on the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate. White Craft Ink was sponged along the edges to soften it a little.
A 3/4 x 4 strip of Flirty Flamingo Designer Paper was added across the front.
Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper was punched with the Flower Medallion Punch.
The snowflake from Tin of Tags was stamped with White Craft Ink on Flirty Flamingo, then embossed with White Embossing Powder and punched with the Flower Medallion Punch.
The punches were adhered together and placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A Large Rhinestone was added to the center and a few scattered in the background for a little bling!

CCMC433 Santa’s Sleigh

It’s Thursday and time for another challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary! I love the sketch challenges and this is a sketch I will (and have) use a lot! In fact, I used it for next week’s color challenge, too. But it looks totally different with another stamp set and DSP!

Here’s my card…love that reindeer!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake is embossed with the Holly Embossing Folder.
A 2-1/4 x 4 piece of Warmth & Cheer DSP was cut into a flag shape on one edge and added to the front.
A 1/4 x 4 strip of Cherry Cobbler cardstock was placed across the center of it.
A 1-1/4 x 3-1/4 piece of coordinating Warmth & Cheer DSP was added to the bottom of a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Whisper White. Some Gold Baker’s Twine is wrapped around three times to hide the seam.
Peace from Holly Jolly Greetings was stamped with Cherry Cobbler above the DSP.
The Reindeer from Santa’s Sleigh was stamped with Early Espresso on Crumb Cake and cut with the Framelits. The wreath was stamped with Garden Green on Whisper White and cut with the Framelits. The bow was stamped with Early Espresso on Cherry Cobbler and cut with the Framelits, then clear Wink Of Stella added on top.
The wreath was cut and adhered behind the neck of the reindeer, and then it was popped up on the front of the card.
Several stars from Santa’s Sleigh were stamped with Daffodil Delight in the background.

Stitched with Cheer

Hope you all had a great weekend! We got to spend time with all four of the grandkids together (and their parents!), I did a fairly successful craft fair on Saturday and got in a nap on Sunday! Plus watched some awesome college football games on Saturday night (which is why I needed the nap on Sunday!) lol! Need to get one of those in every once in a while and the time change still has me out of sorts for some reason.

This layout may look familiar, I used the Create with Connie and Mary sketch from a couple weeks ago. This was the original card I made, then I went in a little different direction for the one I actually used that week. I really like this one, too. AND…I was so surprised to see that the snowflake in this Stitched with Cheer stamp set fits in the Snow Flurry Punch! It isn’t marked in the catalog as fitting, but it does perfectly!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Soft Sky that has been embossed with the Snow Flurry Folder and sponged with White Craft Ink along the edges.
Two snowflakes in Stitched with Cheer were stamped in the background with Soft Sky Ink. Then three snowflakes stamped on Whisper White and punched with the Snow Flurry punch (leave space between them!). They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Stitched with Cheer was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the lower right corner.
Rhinestones were added to the center of the snowflakes and scattered in the background.

This was close to being my Christmas Card this year because I liked it that much! But, I did go in another direction…I’ll be showing that one off after I mail them next month!

Saturday Blog Hop – Candy Cane Christmas Accordion Card

This week for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop we are having fun…it’s all about cards that move! Could be shakers, spinners…or designer’s choice! Lots of creativity, I’m sure! I used a fun fold that I saw on our own Debbie Henderson’s blog earlier this year and had been wanting to try it. She calls it an Accordion Movement Card.

So…here’s the front. Don’t you love that Candy Cane Lane Designer Paper?

Here are the details for the front:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to make the base card.
The top piece of DSP is 4 x 3-3/4 and the bottom is 4 x 1-3/4, they will overlap about 1/4″. Then the Real Red piece is 3/4 x 4 to hide the seam.
The accordion center piece is 2-3/4 x 12 and scored at 3, 4-1/2, 6, 7-1/2 and 9. Fold back and forth accordion style.
Once folded, cut the top (both pieces together) with the Lots of Labels largest Framelit.
The greeting from Candy Cane Christmas was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White, then cut with the NEW Stitched Circle Framelits (second from smallest). It was layered on a scallop Layered Circle cut from Early Espresso cardstock in the next largest size.
The gingerbread and candy piece were cut from the Designer Paper and added to the front of the circles.
A long piece of Real Red Baker’s Twine ties to hold it closed.

Here’s the inside with the piece untied and unfolded.

I decorated the inside folds with coordinating DSP and them stamped some images with Real Red, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso inks, then cut them out.
I did some “omit stamping” to only ink part of the greetings and used the Early Espresso Marker.

Isn’t that a FUN fold? I love it! Perfect card for small images, too!

CCMC432 Twinkle Tree

It’s time for another challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary and it’s a beautiful color combination!

Copper is really BIG right now in decorating. I knew I could go with a fall type card, but decided to go with Christmas for a little change! Both the greeting and the swirls on the tree are embossed with copper, along with the star on top. It goes along perfectly with the Copper Embossed Designer Paper in Petals & Paisleys DSP package!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Mint Macaron, folded in half.
A 1-1/2 x 4 strip of Petals & Paisleys DSP was added to the left side of a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Whisper White.
On the right side, the tree from Twinkle Tree was stamped with Night of Navy, then the small bokeh circles for that stamp set stamped inside the tree with Mint Macaron Ink. The swirls and dots image was stamped with Versamark over top and embossed with Copper Embossing Powder.
An AquaPainter and Mint Macaron Ink added grounding under the tree.
The star from the same set was stamped with Versamark on Mint Macaron cardstock, them embossed with Copper Embossing powder and cut out.
The Mint Macaron Ribbon was wrapped to the back of the Whisper White and hides the seam.
Making Spirits Bright from Tin of Tags was stamped with Versamark on Mint Macaron and embossed with Copper Embossing Powder, then punched with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
