Pretty Kitty

It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! Love the sketch this week! Grab your stamps and play along!

Here’s what I did using the fun stamp set, Pretty Kitty!

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Smoky Slate, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, the greeting in Pretty Kitty is stamped with Memento Black Ink in the lower right corner.
A 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Tempting Turquoise is embossed with the Sparkle Embossing Folder.
A 1/4 strip of Flirty Flamingo is placed across the Tempting Turquoise and a 1/4 strip of Basic Black cardstock tucked under it.
Two kittens were stamped with Memento Black Ink and watercolored with Smoky Slate and Blushing Bride Markers and an AquaPainter.
The bows were colored with Flirty Flamingo and Tempting Turquoise Markers.

Birthday Fiesta

I recently participated in a Incentive Trip swap for the new catalog and I decided to use the fun, colorful Birthday Fiesta for my card!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White, folded in half.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Tempting Turquoise is embossed with the Festive Embossing Folder.
Along the bottom is a 2 x 4 piece of Festive Birthday Designer Paper (LOVE that stripe pattern).
The 1-1/2 x 5 piece of Whisper White was stamped with the greeting from Birthday Fiesta stamp set in Melon Mambo, then laid across the front at an angle and trimmed off.
A 2″ Punched Circle of Crushed Curry is the “sun” behind the cactus.
The cactus from Birthday Fiesta was stamped with Emerald Envy on scrap Whisper White and cut with the Fiesta Time Framelits. It is adhered on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the little sombrero, I used the triangle piece in the Framelits cut from Crumb Cake and stamped with the pattern in Birthday Fiesta and Melon Mambo Ink.
The hat brim is one of the longer banner pieces from the Fiesta Time Framelits cut apart and adhered to the triangle. The Emerald Envy Marker was used to draw dots on the brim. It’s also popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Inside the festive banner was stamped with Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Emerald Envy along the bottom. The greeting was stamped with Tempting Turquoise Ink.

I really was SO happy with how this card turned out!!! Too, too cute!

Falling Flowers Bundle

We JUST opened the Create with Connie and Mary July Mini Session today, so you don’t want to miss out! It’s not too late to join to see the fabulous projects our designers did this month!

There are SO many great flower sets in the new catalog…and with coordinating framelits! I featured Falling Flowers and May Flowers Framelits this month for the July Mini Session and had SO much fun with designing them! Here’s one card that I didn’t use…but I love it and saved it to share with you.

I love the look of layering the open, lacy May Flowers diecut over Designer Paper…and this one I added interest by having it appear to run off the edge.

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White cardstock, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock.
Over that is a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Blooms & Bliss Designer Paper (love this watercolor pattern!).
On the 3 x 4-1/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock, the edge was cut with the May Flowers Framelit to just give an outline. The greeting from Watercolor Wishes was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
Some Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon was tied around and knotted on the front. The Whisper White layer was added to the front.
Then some scrap Sweet Sugarplum cardstock was cut to make the flower. The flower was adhered in the outline area and carefully trimmed along the edges to line up with the Whisper White layer.
In the center is a Perfect White Accent.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Designer Paper

This month on Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hops, we are switching it up a little and showing off our FAVORITES! This week we are featuring our FAVORITE DESIGNER PAPER! Now…that was a tough one for me! I pretty much have favorite patterns in each package! But, I did narrow it down overall to the Festive Birthday Designer Paper package…mainly because of the bright colors and White background!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Tempting Turquoise.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Soft Sky, two 1/2 x 2 inch strips of Festive Birthday DSP were placed in the left top area.
A 2-3/4 x 3-1/2 piece of the festive ribbons in Festive Birthday DSP was cut and corners rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch, then added to the front.
A 2″ Circle of Crushed Curry cardstock was placed in the bottom right corner.
The cactus from Birthday Fiesta was stamped with Emerald Envy Ink on Whisper White and cut with the Festive Time Framelits.
The flower was stamped with Melon Mambo and cut with the Festive Time Framelit, then added to the cactus with a Mini Glue Dot. A Rhinestone finishes off the center.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the lower left corner.

CCMC414 May Flowers Framelits

Love the color challenge this week on Create with Connie and Mary and loved that I got to use my May Flowers Framelits, the colors are SO summery!

Here’s my card using the May Flowers Framelits:

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Tangerine Tango, folded in half.
On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White, a 1-1/2 x 5 strip of Fruit Stand Designer Paper was placed across the front.
Two of the flowers in the May Flowers Framelits were cut from Peekaboo Peach. One was adhered to Tangerine Tango cardstock, the cut around the shape of the flower. The layers were adhered together with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
In the center, the small flower from Falling Flowers stamp set was stamped with Cucumber Crush Ink on Cucumber Crush cardstock, then cut with the framelits and added with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
Two leaves were cut from Cucumber Crush cardstock and tucked under the flowers. An In Color Enamel Shape was added to the center.
The greeting from Watercolor Wishes was stamped with Cucumber Crush Ink.

Moroccan Nights

I used the sketch from this week’s Create with Connie and Mary to create this card using Moroccan Nights. Well actually, this was the first card I made with the sketch, but decided not to use for the challenge! lol! I actually had all these pieces sitting on my desk from other “starts” to projects, so was happy to use them up!

Here are the details!

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Sweet Sugarplum, folded in half.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White is embossed with the new Sparkle Embossing Folder.
A 1/2 x 4 strip of Playful Palette DSP Stack is adhered across the front.
The medallion from Moroccan Nights is stamped with Sweet Sugarplum Ink on Whisper White and handcut out, then placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The word Hello from Hello You Thinlets is cut from Basic Black cardstock and added across the center.

That’s it! Pretty clean and simple design, isn’t it?

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Sweet Sugarplum

It’s Saturday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! The past few weeks we have been featuring the new In Colors! Aren’t they SOOOOO pretty? I love them all! This week it is Sweet Sugarplum’s time to be featured!

I had this image already stamped and sitting on my desk from a class I did this week. I decided to finish it up into a new card with Sweet Sugarplum to fit this week’s theme! Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, folded in half and rounded the bottom corners with the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch.
On top is a 2 x 5-1/2 piece of Blooms & Bliss Designer Paper across the center.
On top is a 4 x 4 piece of Whisper White stamped with the Sitting Here stamp set swing in Basic Black Archival Ink. It is watercolored with Chocolate Chip Marker. The cushion of the swing is colored in stripes of Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum.
The leaves from Sheltering Tree were stamped with Old Olive Ink along the top of the Whisper White, then the corners were rounded with the Corner Punch.
The pillow is stamped with Sweet Sugarplum Ink on Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, then cut out. The cat is stamped with Memento Black on Whisper White, colored with Smoky Slate and Crumb Cake (like my cat, Bleach!), then cut out and placed on the cushion. The cardinal is stamped on the back of the swing with Memento Black Ink and colored with Real Red Marker.
A piece of Sweet Sugarplum ruffled ribbon is tied in a knot and added to the swing with a Mini Glue Dot!

CCMC412 Jar of Love

I was SO happy to see the stamp set Jar of Love and coordinating Framelits in the new catalog! You may have noticed that I use those type images in my blog header frequently! Love them! These are especially fun to play with, but for my first card, I used the smallest jar and small flowers!

We have a FUN color challenge this week over on Create with Connie and Mary…and I pulled this set out to use! The colors and striped paper just remind me of a candy store for some reason! Jennifer and I had the same general idea this week!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Blushing Bride, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, I placed a 3-1/2 x 4 piece of Pool Party cardstock, then added 1/2″ x 4″ strips of Watermelon Wonder In Color Patterns Designer Paper along the sides.
Whisper White cardstock is cut with the new Layering Oval Framelit and the bushy leaves stamped with Pool Party Ink along the top side.
The jar was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White, the bow with Watermelon Wonder, the water with stamped off Pool Party, then the stems with Pool Party Ink. The jar cut with the Everyday Jar Framelit and was added to the Oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The flower solids were stamped with Blushing Bride, then Watermelon Wonder Ink detail on top and cut out with the Everyday Jar Framelits. Tiny pearls are in the centers of the larger flowers. The small flowers were stamped with Pool Party, cut out and Watermelon Wonder Marker filled in the center. They were popped up and added above the jar with the new Foam Strip Adhesive…perfect for cutting small pieces and they are thicker than the Dimensionals.
A Pearl was added to the knot in the bow.
Finally, the greeting was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink on a scrap of Blushing Bride cardstock, cut with a flag end and tucked under the jar.
