IM449 – Fun for Fall

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration is a scarecrow in a field!

FUN FOR FALL

I used Stampin’ Up!’s new Fun For Fall bundle for today’s card!  I love this cute little scarecrow and all the fun accessories!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Old Olive cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of new Sunflower Fields DSP is added on top.
  • A layer of 3-1/4 x 4-3/8 Old Olive cardstock was added to the center.
  • The 3-1/8 x 4-1/4 piece of Basic Beige cardstock was brushed across the top with Cloud Cover Ink and along the bottom with Golden Glow Ink.  The greeting was stamped in the upper left corner with Early Espresso Ink.  It was adhered to the Old Olive layer.
  • The corn stalks were cut twice from Old Olive and the ears from Golden Glow cardstocks and adhered across the bottom approx 1/4″ from bottom.
  • The fence was cut two times and adhered together, then added along the bottom edge.
  • The scarecrow, crow and sunflower heads were stamped with Basic Black Hybrid Ink and colored with Smoky Slate, Cloud Cover, Old Olive, Golden Glow, Poppy Parade, Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends.  They were cut with the Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Crumb Cake Pearls of Beauty were added to the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Coloring Inside the Lines

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  This week’s theme is “Coloring Inside the Lines”…so many fun line art stamps to color!  I don’t always spend a lot of time coloring…often just a spot here or there, so it was fun to pull out my Blends and color away!

FUN FOR FALL

Most of you know that I love fall…leaves, scarecrows, pumpkins.  It’s always just a colorful time of year in the midwest!  This scarecrow and accessories were so much fun to color!  AND, I absolutely LOVE this Sunflower Fields DSP coming out soon!  Incentive Trip Achievers received this fun prize on our Alaska trip in June!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is Golden Glow cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • Two coordinating Sunflower Fields DSP patterns were cut 2 x 5-1/4 then added to the front with a little space in between them.
  • The label from Sweet Words & Labels Dies was cut from Basic Beige cardstock and adhered to the center.  The greeting was stamped with Basic Black Ink in the upper left corner.
  • The scarecrow, two bales of straw, crow and two sunflower heads were stamped with Basic Black Hybrid Ink and colored with Darling Duckling, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate, Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Pecan Pie and Cloud Cover Stampin’ Blends.  They were cut with the Dies and added to the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and adhered under the crow with a Mini Glue Dot.  One of the sunflower heads was added over the bow and the other on the ground.
  • A trio of Earthy Matte Dots were added to the background.

Delicate Baubles Dies – Scarecrow

Ok, had to take a little break from making these Delicate Baubles characters, but I’m back with several new ideas!  My girlfriend, Annette, got me thinking in a new direction!  Here’s my SCARECROW!

You can see my GNOME, SANTA, GINGERBREAD, ELF, PENGUIN, SNOWMAN, WITCH, MICKEY MOUSE,  DRACULA, RUDOLPH, GRINCH & MAX and NUTCRACKER by clicking on their name.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Misty Moonlight cardstock was added on top.
  • A 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Harvest Meadow Designer Paper was added to the right side.
  • Then a 1 x 4 piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock was stamped with the leaf from Banner Year randomly with Cinnamon Cider Ink.
  • The solid arabesque shape from Delicate Baubles Dies was cut from Crumb Cake, Bumblebee, Misty Moonlight and Cinnamon Cider cardstocks.
  • The Crumb Cake bauble was embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.
  • The Bumblebee bauble was cut for the straw hair and neckline.
  • The hat was cut into two pieces from Cinnamon Cider cardstock, using Stampin’ Dimensional strips for the brim of the hat and sponging Cinnamon Cider Ink around the edges for definition.
  • The eyes are the small buttons from the All Dressed Up Dies from Basic Black cardstock.
  • The nose is the tip of the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch from Pumpkin Pie cardstock.
  • The checks are 3/8″ Circles from Flirty Flamingo.
  • The eyebrows, nose stitches and mouth stitches were hand drawn with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
  • A patch was hand-cut from Misty Moonlight cardstock, and stitches drawn around it on the hat.
  • The shirt is the Misty Moonlight bauble cut along the bottom.
  • The bowtie is the bow from the Delicate Baubles Dies, trimmed.
  • The crow is the bird from the Beautiful Trees Dies from Basic Black and a small triangle cut from Pumpkin Pie for his beak.  His nest is some Bumblebee cardstock cut in strips.  He was added to the hat.
  • A Brushed Metallic Dot was added to the center of the bowtie.
  • The scarecrow bauble was added to the front of the base card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Happy Fall Y’All from Banner Year was stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink on a rectangle of Bumblebee cut with the Beautiful Trees label Die.

How fun is this scarecrow!!!  I’m having a blast with these characters!  Still more to come…

SUO158 Cookie Cutter Halloween

It’s time for another SUO Challenge…this time the theme is Thanks and Thanksgiving!   We all need thank you cards and the Thanksgiving holidays will be here soon!  So, grab your stamps and play along!

 

I haven’t been feeling well (migraine) the past few days, so I’m posting one of cards we did for my Holiday Catalog Preview class a couple weeks ago!  Just didn’t have the energy to work on a different design and this one fit the challenge!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Delightful Dijon, folded in half.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla, a 1-1/4 x 5 piece of Petals & Paisleys Designer Paper was added to the left side, and a 2-1/2 x 4 piece of a coordinating pattern next to it.
  • The greeting from Rose Wonder was stamped with Cajun Craze Ink.
  • The Leaflet Framelit was cut from Delightful Dijon and embossed with the Woodgrain Folder.
  • A piece of Burlap Ribbon was cut and shredded on the ends and stapled to the leaf, then added onto the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The scarecrow from Cookie Cutter Halloween was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Very Vanilla and watercolored with Always Artichoke, Delightful Dijon, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Rich Razzleberry Makers and AquaPainter.  Then punched out and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The crow was stamped with Memento Black and added to the front with a Dimensional, too.
