CCMC408 Love & Affection

This week is a soft and pretty color challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! Grab your stamps and play along!

Here’s mine using the new Love & Affection stamp set!

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Blushing Bride, folded in half.
On top is a 3-3/4 x 5 layer of So Saffron, embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.
A 1/2 x 4-1/4 strip of Blushing Bride (wow…it looks Pink Pirouette here in the photo, but not in real life!) is cut with flag ends and placed across the front.
The Lots of Label Framelit is cut from Mint Macaron and added to the center of the card.
The Love & Affection large and small flowers were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on So Saffron and a scrap piece of Birthday Bouquet Designer Paper, hand cut, and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The leaves were stamped on Mint Macaron and cut out, then tucked under the flowers.
Sending a smile from the Love & Affection stamp set was stamped on a 1/2 x 3-1/2 strip of Whisper White, cut with flag ends and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensonals.
Perfect White Accents finish of the centers!

I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest and I’ve been wanting to make it for a LONG time with Stampin’ Up! materials, but haven’t had the need for a wedding card. When I saw the theme for the SUO Challenge this time was bride and groom, I knew it would be perfect to make it now.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Basic Black, folded in half.
Across the top of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 3 x 5-1/4 layer of Shine On Specialty Designer Paper was layered on top (can you see the silver stripe…subtle, but I love it!)
The 1/8″ Silver Ribbon was placed across to hide the seam and secured it in back.
Forever Begins Today from Suite Sayings is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink in the lower right corner.
The “pearl necklace” for the bride was made with graduated sizes of the Perfect White Accents. (Tip…start at the larger bottom one and work up to the smaller ones).
The “bow tie” for the groom was punched from Basic Black cardstock with the Bow Builder Punch, then added to the front with Mini Glue Dots. Two Perfect White Accents are the “pearl buttons”.

Moroccan Nights again

OK…here is the third card I did using Moroccan Nights when I was at a stamping retreat a couple weeks ago. This is the set that we received for free for attending On Stage.

For some reason, this looks rather “blah” on the computer screen. It is much prettier in person! The Smoky Slate and Sweet Sugarplum really compliment each other!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Sweet Sugarplum cardstock folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate, the border image from Moroccan Nights was stamped with Smoky Slate ink for a tone-on-tone look.
The medallion was stamped with Sweet Sugarplum on Whisper White, then cut with the Circle Framelits (old ones). Some loops of Silver Thread were adhered to the back of the circle, then placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
It’s Your Day from Confetti Celebrations was stamped with Memento Black on 1/2 x 4″ Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, then added across the center of the medallion.
Two Neutral Silver Sequins were added to the strip for some extra bling.

OK…I must admit, after playing with this set a little, I am liking it much better than when I first saw it! lol! Hope you liked my cards, too!

CCMC407 Birthday Blooms

It’s Thursday again and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! It’s a FUN sketch challenge this week. I ended up making several cards with the basic layout while at my stamping retreat a few weeks ago!

And here’s my card…I’m LOVING these new In-Colors!!!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Sweet Sugarplum, folded in half.
On top is a 3-3/4 x 5-1/2 layer of Whisper White.
Strips of Affectionately Yours Designer Paper cut 1 x 3-3/4, 3/4 x 3-3/4 and 1/2 x 3-3/4 were cut and added to the front.
Happiest of Birthdays to You was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black in the lower left corner.
The Birthday Blooms flower was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on scrap Whisper White and watercolored with the AquaPainter and Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach, Old Olive and Crushed Cucumber Markers. It was cut out by hand and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Tucked behind are Gold Thread wrapped in circles and secured with Mini Glue Dots.

Painter’s Palette

I’ve had a lot of fun playing around with Painter’s Palette. It was the pre-order set I used to make up my four card set for the Create with Connie and Mary May Mini Session! Once I got started, I couldn’t stop! So, here’s one that didn’t make the set. I had decided to go with one color scheme for my set, and this one didn’t follow it. But, I love how bright and cheerful it is!

Reminds you of primary school art class, doesn’t it? I had wonderful art teachers!

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Wild Wasabi cardstock, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pacific Point cardstock.
On the 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Whisper White, the splatter image was stamped with Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight inks randomly.
The “Our Friend is a work of art” greeting from Painter’s Palette was stamped first with Memento Black, and cut with the Layering Squares Framelit. The word art was stamped several times in Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi and Pacific Point inks on scrap Whisper White. Each individual letter was cut out of a different color and adhered over the Memento Black greeting. Tip: keep the letters and you can make two more cards!
The greeting was layered on the scallop Layering Squares Framelit cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock. It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I punched the new Duet Banner from Real Red cardstock, cut it in half and adhered under the Daffodil Delight square.
The “pin” from the same set was stamped twice with Real Red Ink on scrap Whisper White and cut out, then “tacked” to the Layering Square with Mini Glue Dots.

So much fun! It turned out exactly how I pictured it in my head! lol!

Moroccan Nights

I mentioned when I did this card I posted earlier, that I challenged myself to make a few cards with the set Moroccan Nights we got free at On Stage. Here’s the second card I made. It ended up being my favorite of the three.

The new In Color, Emerald Envy, hasn’t received as much love as the other new colors, so I included that color in my challenge as well! Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Emerald Envy cardstock, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, the medallion from Moroccan Nights was stamped in Daffodil Delight.
The lantern from Moroccan Nights was stamped with Emerald Envy on scrap Whisper White, then cut out and placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Let’s Celebrate from Confetti Celebrations was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
Some Daffodil Delight Bakers Twine was tied in a bow and added to the lantern with a Mini Glue Dot.
To finish the card, some Rhinestones were added to the Lantern, the center of the Medallion and by the greeting.

All the white space on this card really gives it a clean, crisp look!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Color Me Happy

It’s Saturday and you know what that means!!! It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Design Team Blog Hop! This week’s theme is Color Me Happy…there are many, many selections of stamps to color in the catalogs!

I REALLY, REALLY love to color…when I was small, the best gift you could give me was a new coloring book and crayons! They had to be SHARP, NEW crayons, too! I miss Stampin’ Up!’s Blendabilities…hoping they come out with something like them SOON!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Birthday Bouquet Designer Paper.
Across the front is a 3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Peekaboo Peach cardstock, stamped with the For You greeting in Birthday Blooms with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
The large blossom from Birthday Blooms was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Whisper White, then colored with the AquaPainter and Peekaboo Peach, Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron and Pear Pizzazz Markers.
The blossom was cut out and adhered to a 4th from Largest Circle Framelit cut from Whisper White. The circle is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The blossom was highlighted with some Clear Wink of Stella for a little shimmer.
Several Neutral Silver sequins were sprinkled around on the front.

CCMC406 Going Global

We have a very neutral based color challenge for you to try this week on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!

Here’s my take using Going Global…one of the retiring stamp sets. I’m bummed…it is so nice for making masculine cards!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Gray.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White is embossed with the World Traveler embossing folder (I really wish this would have stayed in the new catalog!)
Towards the bottom is a 1 x 5 strip of Neutrals Designer Paper Collection in the Crumb Cake polka dot pattern.
A 1/2 x 4 strip of Smoky Slate is stamped with the World’s Best Dad greeting from Going Global (one of the reasons I like this stamp set so well is that it includes greetings!) in Basic Gray Ink.
The compass image from Going Global is stamped with Basic Gray, then colored with Smoky Slate and Crumb Cake Markers.
Some Silver Thread is wrapped in a circle and added behind the image.
A Silver sequin is placed in the center of the compass and some silver stars from the Neutrals Sequins is scattered in the background.
