I just received this set from the new catalog and thought it would be perfect for the latest Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Sketch Challenge!

And here is my card, didn’t it work out great?

OK…lots of new products on here…are you ready?

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 new in-color Delightful Dijon, folded in half.
On top is 4 x 5-1/4 Very Vanilla, embossed with new Elegant Dots folder.
The strips were cut from Timeless Elegance DSP and adhered to the Very Vanilla layer.
I cut a piece of Sahara Sand and stamped the Awesomely Artistic floral bunch with Mossy Meadow Ink, then carefully used the AquaPainter and Delightful Dijon and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers to watercolor it. It was placed on the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the label design from the same set with Delightful Dijon ink on Delightful Dijon cardstock, then cut with the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits.
Finally, I stamped the dragonfly with Tuxedo Black Ink and watercolored with Old Olive and Delightful Dijon again, then cut it out and added it to the label with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

SUOC 124 Stars and Stripes

It’s a fun challenge over on SUO Challenges this time…using Stars and Stripes in our projects! Now, it doesn’t HAVE to be patriotic, but of course that is where my mind went first thing! Here’s my creation! Note the chevron strips on the embossed background and the stripes in the Epic Alphabet! Fun, huh?

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red, folded in half.
The 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 layer of Whisper White is embossed with the Chevron pattern and layered on a 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Night of Navy, and placed on the front of the card.
A 2 x 4-1/2 strip of Night of Navy was punched at the top with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch.
The Star Framelits were used to cut the Dazzling Diamonds and Red Glimmer Paper, then placed on the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
USA was stamped with Real Red on a 1-1/4 x 4 piece of Whisper White, then layered on a 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Real Red. It was placed across the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, too!
Finally, the 1/4″ Real Red Cotton Ribbon was tied at the top of the tag in a bow!

You’re Sublime

Gosh…the days are going by SO quickly! I really have been hard at work in my studio, but all my projects are for future events…so not a lot to post on my blog! I made up this quick card this morning so you’d see I haven’t disappeared!

I’m loving this darling little set, You’re Sublime! Could definitely be used for kids cards, but I’m loving the cute critters in it for everyone!

Here are the details for this card!

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red, folded in half.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate is on top
A 2 x 3-1/4 piece of Everyday Chic Designer Paper was adhered to the bottom of a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Whisper White.
A snip of 1/4 Real Red Cotton Ribbon hides the seam (SEE MY RIBBON SHARES HERE!!!!)
The crab was stamped with Black Stazon Ink at the top and watercolored with the AquaPainter and Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker. A little Sahara Sand was watercolored at the base for grounding.
This panel was popped upon the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, a Red button was tied with Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine in a bow and placed on the front with a Mini Glue Dot.

OK…isn’t that just too stinkin’ cute? I think so! I hope YOU have a “snappy day”!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – You’re Sublime

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop and our theme for the month of June is INTERACTIVE cards and folds! This is going to be SO fun! Up first is designer, Debbie Henderson who chose the Pop-out Swing Card for our first one! You’ve probably just came from Deb’s blog…didn’t you love her card?

My new catalog order came in yesterday and I couldn’t resist using this fun new set, You’re Sublime, with this fun pop-out fold!

Here are the details:

The outside is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Watermelon Wonder cardstock folded in half.
I used the Square Framelits to cut the frame out of the front panel, then used the same size again to cut a Cucumber Crush square.
The next size smaller was used to cut a Whisper White square to layer.
I stamped the frog from You’re Sublime with Black Stazon Ink and then watercolored with my AquaPainter and Mint Macaron, Cucumber Crush and Delightful Dijon Stampin’ Write Markers. I also used a little Sahara Sand for his shadow. Then I adhered to the Cucumber Crush layer.
Inside is a 5 x 6 piece of Whisper White, scored at 2 and 4 (with the 6″ at the top).
For the center panel, I cut a 2 x 5 piece of Cherry On Top Designer Paper Stack and adhered.
On the third panel, I used a circle punch to punch three circles along the top, Way to Go from Bravo stamp set was stamped with Cucumber Crush Ink, then adhered this panel to the inside of the Watermelon Wonder cardstock.
On the front I cut a 1 x 4-1/4 matching Cherry on Top DSP piece.
I adhered only the right side of the stamped image and Cucumber Crush squares to the front panel and allowed it to “swing” thru the opening on the front of the card.
To finish, I punched two stars with the Medium Star Punch from Silver Glimmer Paper and added to the front and inside with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CCMC358 Butterfly Basics

Oh…I can’t wait! My new catalog order will be here today! Yes, I’m one of those who does 2-day expedited for new catalogs. I just can’t wait! It’s like Christmas! Woohoo! But, today is also the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. It is a lovely color challenge this week, so I hope you play along!

And here is my card:

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Hello Honey folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White.
A 2″ x 4″ piece of Hello Honey was cut with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch, cut a flag end, and then stamped with the honeycomb image in Butterfly Basics with Hello Honey Ink. A scrap piece of retired Lost Lagoon Satin Ribbon was tied at the top (My new ribbon is on the way, too!) It was placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Across the front is a 1 x 4 strip of So Saffron, stamped with Happy Birthday in Lost Lagoon Ink, from the same stamp set.
The butterfly was stamped with Lost Lagoon on Whisper White and cut with the Butterfly Framelits, then added to the front with a Stampin’ Dimensional. A So Saffron button is tied with Linen Thread for the antennae and added to the body with a Mini Glue Dot.
Finally, the flower was stamped with Lost Lagoon, punched with the 1/2 Circle and a Rhinestone added to the center.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Fun with Vellum

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop and it’s the last week for our theme of techniques! This time our designer, Deb Currier, chose using Vellum techniques on our creations! I know I don’t think about using Vellum on my cards, so was glad to have the opportunity to pull my stash out! You’ve probably just came from Deb’s blog…didn’t you love her card?

I used a new set from the catalog you’ve been seeing, You’ve Got This, along with a couple new In Colors, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush. The vellum is such a pretty look with this image!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11, folded in half.
The top Whisper White layer was cut to 4 x 5-1/4 and cut with the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelit. Then the corners were rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder. It was also embossed with Delicate Dots Folder.
The Cardstock Vellum layer was cut just slightly smaller and corners rounded. The You’ve Got This flower was inked with Versamark and then embossed with White Embossing Powder.
On the back, the flower was colored with Blushing Bride Marker, then Watermelon Wonder Marker accents colored in, then covered over with Blushing Bride Marker again to smooth out the lines. The same was done with Mint Macaron and Cucumber Crush for the leaves and stem. The center was colored with Delightful Dijon (do these new in-colors make anyone else hungry???) lol!
The Vellum layer was adhered to another Whisper White layer cut to the same size and corners rounded.
The top “frame” was added to the Vellum layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and then placed on the front of the card.
Hello Thinlet was cut from Sahara Sand, a piece of Watermelon Wonder 1″ Ribbon was tied thru the loop in the H, then added to the front with Multipurpose Glue.

CCMC357 Guy Greetings

Since June is such a big “male” birthday month for us, I used Guy Greetings again on my Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge card for the sketch challenge this week!

And here is my card:

Here are the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Smoky Slate, folded in half.
On top is 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Island Indigo.
A 1 x 5 1/4 strip of Stacked with Love DSP is placed across the middle with the 1/8″ Silver Ribbon in the center of it, then adhered to the back.
A 3 3/8 x 3 3/8 square of Smoky Slate is layered on a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 Basic Black cardstock and adhered in the middle. The greetings from Guy Greetings were placed on top and bottom corners.
The tools were stamped with Island Indigo and punch with the 1 3/4 Circle Punch and placed on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Strips of Stacked with Love, Basic Black and Whisper White were cut with flag ends and placed under the circle. Dad was stamped with Tuxedo Black ink.

Grand Vacation Hawaii Pillow Gifts Blog Hop

Most of us are back from the Grand Vacation Incentive Trip to Hawaii. You might remember we had a blog hop before we left with the theme of Hawaii. It was so much fun we decided to do another blog hop. This time the theme is Pillow Gifts Inspiration, something we received from Hawaii! You’ve probably just come from Betty Button’s blog…wasn’t her project fun?

One of the things we received were these cute little quilted bags, made by Moana Quilts in Hawaii…the store was right in the Sheraton where we stayed. They specially sewed the Stampin’ Up! rubber stamp on the front and used one of our new in-colors, Mint Macaron.

I used the new set, You’ve Got This, with the new Mint Macaron color and English Garden DSP to make my card.

Here are the details:

The flower from You’ve Got This was stamped with Black Stazon on Mint Macaron. I watercolored the petals with the AquaPainter and ink from the lid of my White Craft Pad. The petals were watercolored with Mossy Meadow ink and the center with Delightful Dijon ink. Then I cut it out.
The 4 1/4 x 11 base was folded in half. I added a 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 piece of English Garden DSP to the bottom.
On the 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 piece of Tip Top Taupe cardstock, I stamped the background with White Craft Ink, then the greeting with Early Espresso Ink. It was layered on a 3 3/8 x 4 5/8 piece of Early Espresso cardstock.
I popped up the flower on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Really, pretty simple, but I love the whitewashed look on the flower!
