Christmas Bauble

OK…I’ll get to my card in a minute, but first have to show off my newest grand-daughter, Quinn! She was born on October 9th and weighed 8 lbs, 10 oz, 21-1/2″ long! Since her mom had an unexpected c-section, I’ve been fortunate enough to be spending my days helping out over at their house and getting LOTS of snuggle time. Of course, Quinn has her days and nights mixed up so we are working on that! This was taken right before she came home on Sunday.

I had a Christmas Bauble image sitting on my desk that I didn’t use on another project, so I decided to use it on a card.

Here are the details…

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Rich Razzleberry cardstock, folded in half.
The 4 x 5 1/4 Whisper White layer is embossed with the Lucky Stars folder.
The Color Me Autumn Designer Paper was cut with the Apothecary Accent framelit. A hole was punched in the top point for the ribbon to go thru.
The Rich Razzleberry 1/4″ Ribbon was wrapped thru the hole and adhered to the back.
Christmas Bauble image was stamped with Memento Black Ink (center stamped twice) and colored with the Rich Razzleberry and Crumb Cake Blendabilities Markers. Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler was also used for the holly leaves and berries.
The ornament was cut out, and the 1″ circle center punched on the second image. The center was layered with the 1-1/4 Champagne Glimmer Paper Circle and added to the center with Stampin’ Dimensionals. In the very center, the star was punched from Champagne Glimmer Paper and adhered. The ornament was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped Merry from Cheerful Tags with Rich Razzleberry Ink on a strip of Whisper White, cut a flag end and added it under the Christmas Bauble.
Finally, I added a Gold Designer Button tied with Linen Thread.

Well, little Quinn is stirring from her nap. Need to get going! Have a great day!

Freaky Friends

But, today I’m stepping away from Christmas and Winter themes to show you a card I made for a Fall Swap that I participated in. Freaky Friends is a stamp set that had to grow on me a little…but I’m really liking it now! I love the eyeballs in this set, I’ve used them here in the background!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Tangerine Tango, folded in half.
The 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Basic Black was embossed with the Large Polka Dots folder and then the eyeballs were stamped with White Craft Ink in some of the raised circles.
The tag is 2 x 3 3/4 of Whisper White and punched with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.
The witch was stamped on the tag with Memento Black Ink and colored with Old Olive, Crumb Cake and Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities Markers.
Boo to You from the hostess set, Good Greetings, is stamped with Tangerine Tango under the witch, and a 1/2 x 2 piece of candy corn DSP from Motley Monsters is added to the top. The tag is placed on the Basic Black layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Tangerine Tango Thick Twine was placed thru the tag hole and then untwisted to fray it.

Fun, isn’t it??? I really like how this turned out!

Here’s a quick and easy Festival of Trees card to use for your Christmas Cards this year! It uses the Trim the Tree Designer Paper Stack. Many of the patterns in that stack could be used for this card and you can cut two layers per sheet! Nice and flat for mailing, too!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Garden Green, folded in half.
Next layer is 4 x 5 1/4 Cherry Cobbler.
On top of that is 3 x 4 1/4 of the Trim the Tree Designer Paper Stack.
Next are a couple strips of coordinating patterns of DSP (1/2 x 4 and 1/4 x 4) to add across the front.
The trees were stamped with Garden Green, then the trunk colored with the Chocolate Chip marker. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two stars were punched from Gold Glimmer Paper and placed on top of the trees.
Finally, Merry & Bright from Christmas Bliss stamp set was stamped with Cherry Cobbler Ink on Whisper White and cut with a flag end.

CCMC324 Holiday Home

It’s THURSDAY and we have a fun color combination for you to try for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!

I used the Nordic Noel Designer Paper because it has these colors in it…made the card come together pretty quickly!

Here are the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Baked Brown Sugar folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Garden Green.
On top of it is a 4 x 4 piece of Nordic Noel Designer Paper. I hid the seam with the 1″ Cherry Cobbler Linen Thread that adheres around in the back of the Garden Green.
To make stamping the large focal element easier, I used a large block and lined up the two houses from Holiday Home with the strand of lights between them and stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Whisper White.
I used Stampin’ Write Markers and AquaPainter to color the houses and lights.
I stamped the evergreen 3 times with Garden Green and Chocolate Chip trunk, cut them out, then adhered to the front. The two evergreens I cut and used just the tops to make shrubs.
I stamped the Wreath with Garden Green, then hand-drew the bow with Real Red Marker.
Finally, I stamped the greeting with Real Red ink!

Day 4 PREVIEW – Ornamental Pine

I created this Ornamental Pine card for another swap that I participated in for WOW Holiday Cards! I definitely think this qualifies, don’t you?

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Island Indigo cardstock, folded in half.
A 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Whisper White is adhered on top.
Another Whisper White layer is cut 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 and sponged in the upper right corner with Soft Sky, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo Inks.
The pine branch from Ornamental Pines is inked with Mossy Meadow Ink and an Early Espresso Marker and stamped in the corner.
On top of that, Gorgeous Grunge is inked with White Craft Ink and randomly stamped for snow flurries.
The pinecone is stamped with Chocolate Chip Ink on Soft Suede and cut out, and the White Gel Pen highlights the snow on it.
The two left corners are rounded with the Corner Punch and a loop of Bermuda Bay Striped Ribbon is folded and adhered behind the Whisper White. This panel is offset to the right edge and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, the Ornamental Pines greeting was stamped with Island Indigo Ink, and Frosted Silver Sequins were added next to the greeting.

Day 3 PREVIEW – White Christmas

It’s DAY 3 of PREVIEW WEEK over on Create with Connie and Mary and we’re counting down the days until we start the new Holiday Collection 2014! Preview Week is a chance for you to see what we are all about with our free tutorials! We are announcing two of our Design Team Members today…both of them long-time designers and we love their work! Last week, I told you I had used White Christmas for only the second time. Here is the card I used it on the first time! It was for my Control Freaks Holiday/Winter swap that I made last month. I just got the swaps back last week and they were fabulous! Here was my contribution:

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 8 1/2, folded in half to make the square card.
The Whisper White layer is cut to 4 x 4 and along the bottom, I added a 1 1/2 x 4 Nordic Noel Designer Paper.
I used the Real Red Satin Woven Ribbon and wrapped it to the back to adhere and hide the seam.
In the upper left corner, I stamped Merry Christmas with Real Red Ink.
The snowflake DSP was punched with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch, then I added a Soft Sky Snowflake from the Snowflake Card Thinlet Die to the center.
I stamped the Snowman from White Christmas with Black Stazon on Whisper White and used Real Red, Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green Markers to color it. Then I punched it with the 1″ Circle Punch and added it to the snowflake with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On my prototype, I added four Rhinestone Jewels on the snowflake!

SUOC107 Beauty of the Season

This is my second post today, so make sure to see my first one, too! The challenge this time on SUO Challenges is “Outdoors in the woods”…which can be anything outdoorsy, including Christmas/Winter scenes. I knew immediately that I wanted to use my Beauty of the Season stamp set along with the Hardwood background stamp! So, here is what I came up with for my outdoor scene:

Here are the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Crumb Cake, I stamped the Hardwood Background stamp with Soft Suede Ink.
I cut the Party Pennant from Whisper White, then stamped the Cardinal image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I used my Cherry Cobber and Crumb Cake Blendabilities Markers to color…love the richness they give to images! I popped up the Pennant on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Note: After I colored, I used a White Gel Pen for the eye.
The 1″ Cherry Cobbler Linen Ribbon was wrapped to the back and adhered. I used a double length of Linen Thread and tied a bow around it.
Finally, I had the JOY already cut from Red Glimmer Paper and thought it would work perfectly on the front!

So…in celebration of Mary’s project, I used Cheerful Tags on my card today! I’m sorry that you can’t enjoy the details as much as it looks in person! It is nice a shimmery and the tag has a lot of depth!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Bermuda Bay, folded in half.
On the bottom of the 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Soft Sky, the snowflake is stamped randomly with Soft Sky Ink.
A 1/2 x 4 strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper was sitting on my desk and JUMPED right on my card to separate the stamped area. lol!
I added a 3/4 x 5 piece of Brights (Bermuda Bay) Designer Paper on the right side.
The tag in Cheerful Tags was stamped with Soft Sky ink and then another snowflake stamped on top of that with Soft Sky ink. The greeting from Cheerful Tags was stamped with Mossy Meadow on top of the snowflake and the row of trees along the bottom of the tag. Then it was punched with the Note Tag Punch and placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I used White Bakers Twine to add the All is Calm Snowflake Embellishment, securing the ends in the back and the snowflake has a little mini glue dot under it to hold it in place on the tag. What a fun accent!
I colored the Rhinestone with Coastal Cabana Blendabilities and added it to the center of the snowflake!
