CCMC303 Work of Art

I think this new Stampin’ Up! set, Work of Art, is so AWESOME! We received it at the Catalog Premier last month! I’ve done SEVERAL cards with it…but holding off on posting them for now. I think you’ll see a couple during the Tour de Freaks coming up this month! I’m still waiting on the rest of my preorder. I waited until after the Stampin’ Up! cruise to preorder from the new catalog so that I knew if we received any of the new products on the cruise I wouldn’t have duplicates. Then I goofed and forgot to have it shipped 2nd day air…so I’m still waiting on them! Boo…

The sketch challenge today over on Create with Connie and Mary was made for the set! Wait until you see what I did!

So, of course, I had to take the abstract images from Work of Art and turn it into a flower! I think it turned out pretty cool!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Strawberry Slush cardstock, folded in half.
I cut a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Whisper White and used the Work of Art brush image with Strawberry Slush Ink for the flower and the same image for the Wild Wasabi leaves. I used the long line image in Wild Wasabi for the stem.
I stamped the zig zag image in the same set with Soft Sky ink across the bottom, then stamped off and moved it up and stamped again.
The Just For was stamped with Black Stazon ink, then the You with Strawberry Slush.
I thought it still needed a little bling, so I used some Coastal Cabana solid twine and tied a bow, then used a Mini Glue Dot to hold it in place. I added some rhinestones randomly on the front.
The Whisper White layer was placed on 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 layer of Basic Black, then adhered to the front of the card.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this card and I hope you do, too!!! I can’t wait to play some more with this fun set! Make sure to put it on YOUR list!

Stipple Blossoms

Oh, I haven’t used this set, Stippled Blossoms in a while! I was looking at sets that were remaining in the catalog…and pulled this one out to use! This came together pretty easily, mainly because the base was already one. I just had to do the two-step stamping of the flowers and leaves, then cut them out! Love it when I can use up my “starts” pile!

Here are the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Pear Pizzazz, fold in half.
I cut a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Eggplant Elegance for the next layer.
At the bottom of the 3 3/4 x 5 Whisper White, I added a 2 x 5 piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Paper.
Around the layers, I tied a piece of Pear Pizzazz Taffeta Ribbon.
The greeting is from Yippee Skippe and stamped in Elegant Eggplant in the right corner.
I stamped the roses from Stippled Blossoms with Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant and the leaves with stamped-off and full-strength Pear Pizzazz. I cut them out and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

LOVE those purple roses! Wish I had some like them in my garden! Have a wonderful day!

CCMC302 Four You and Flowers

It’s Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary challenge. It’s a gorgeous color challenge this week! Come play along!

Not much stamping on my card…I let my Punches and Big Shot do all the work this week!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Whisper White, folded in half.
I embossed a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Whisper White with the Chevron Folder and then rounded the corners. It is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I cut a Starburst Framelit from the Bermuda Bay Patterns Designer Paper Pack and placed on the front.
I punched two of the Pansy Flowers from Daffodil Delight and sponged the edges with Calypso Coral ink. I also punched two Petite Petals from Calypso Coral and placed in the center of the Pansy flowers.
Then I used the retiring X flower punch from Itty Bitty Punches out of Whisper White and added a Rhinestone in the center. I placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I used the Bird Punch leaf punched from Bermuda Bay.
Hello from For You was stamped with Calypso Coral ink on Whisper White and added across the center.
For some extra bling, I added some Rhinestones in the background.

Pretty and bright, don’t you think? I love how the hot colors pop off the cool white background!

SUOC96 Love Birds

The challenge this time over on SUO Challenges is Birds, Bees and Butterflies! Well, Stampin’ Up! certainly has a BIG selection of those! I decided to use my Two-Step Bird Punch for my card this week!

Love my “blue birds”! Thought this card would be great for a wedding! Here are the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Whisper White, folded in half.
I embossed the 4 x 5 1/4 Crumb Cake with the Delicate Dots Folder (coming SOON in the new catalog!)
I used the Two-Step Bird Punch and Whisper White for the leaves and Petite Petals flowers. In the center are Daffodil Delight yellow X flower centers and pearls.
I punched the birds with Coastal Cabana and sponged the edges with Bermuda Bay ink. They are popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The eyes are Pearls colored with Black Sharpie Pen.
Up in the left corner, I stamped Best Wishes from Petite Pairs in Bermuda Bay ink on Whisper White and cut the flag end. I added it on top of the Coastal Cabana cardstock and cut a flag end on it, too.
I added a row of Pearls above the greeting.

Gifts of Kindness

I’m in love with this color combination right now…green and purple! I have another card coming up in a few days…and you may remember a couple cards done with Petite Petals I did a few weeks ago HERE and HERE. I am BEYOND excited to get a new shade of purple coming in the In Colors next month! Woohoo!

Stampin’ Up!’s Gift of Kindness stamp set hasn’t seen much love in my house, so I pulled it out to use it. I’m glad it will be in the new catalog, too! Here are the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Wild Wasabi, folded in half.
I added a 4 x 4 1/4 layer of Elegant Eggplant cardstock.
On the 3 3/4 x 4 layer of Whisper White, I embossed with the upcoming Delicate Dots embossing folder.
I rounded the right side corners with the Corner Rounder Punch.
I added pennants of Elegant Eggplant Patterns from the Rich Regals DSP Pack.
I stamped the Happy Birthday greeting with Elegant Eggplant on Whisper White and cut a flag end on it, too.
The flower image was stamped twice, once with Wild Wasabi and once with Elegant Eggplant. I cut them both out and added the Elegant Eggplant flowers on top of the Wild Wasabi stem.
In the center of the flowers, I added some pretty Pearls.

So…do you love it, too? I haven’t shown a photo of my grandson lately…here’s one with him on his new swing set! I think that is a smile! lol!

So Very Grateful again

Not really sure if this actually came out like it was pictured in my head. I actually wanted it to look like a framed picture on a wall. What do you think? Did I succeed? lol! Oh well, I like it anyway! And I LOVE the Hardwood stamp! I can’t believe I waited SO long to get it! Thankfully it is in the new catalog, too! WOOHOO!

I originally thought this might be one of the Mother’s Day cards that I need…I may end up switching out the greeting. But for now, it is what it is! Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Blushing Bride (I haven’t used that in AGES!), folded in half.
I stamped the Hardwood stamp with Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake cardstock.
Before I placed the Hardwood layer, I pierced the hole for the Vintage Brad and wrapped the White Bakers Twine around it.
I stamped the So Very Grateful image with Black Stazon on Whisper White and cut it with the Oval Framelits.
Then I cut the next larger oval from Pistachio Pudding and used the Piercing Tool around the edge. I placed both on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped Thank You with Black Stazon on Blushing Bride and punched with the Large Oval Punch.
Finally, I added Pearls in the center of the flowers.

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! Did you enjoy last week’s Blog Hop? Well, we are back to normal this week with a fun (and easy!) sketch challenge…come play along!

And here is my interpretation! I always seem to need masculine cards!

Want to know how I made it?

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Pacific Point cardstock.
I cut a 1 1/2 x 4 piece of High Tide DSP with the wheel on it and added it to the side of the coordinating DSP with the anchors on it.
I wrapped some Summer Starfruit Stitched Ribbon around the seam and secure it on the back.
I cut a Pacific Point Deco Label Framelit. I stamped the Circle Framelit with Summer Starfruit it and the Best Mate image from Hello Sailor stamp set and adhered it on the Deco Label Framelit.
Before I placed the Deco Label, I added a 3/4 x 4 piece of Pool Party cardstock.
I stamped the wheel with Pacific Point on Smoky Slate cardstock and cut it with the Circle Framelit and added a Vintage Brad in the center. It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Catalog Premiere

I was SO excited to attend the Stampin' Up! Catalog Premiere in Columbus, Ohio! Stampin' Up! did a simulcast from over 40 locations around North America! We all were able to see Shelly Gardner, Carrie Cudney, Shannon West, Bonnie Thurber and Donna Griffin (LIVE in Long Beach) demonstrate some of the NEW products coming out! And enjoyed the ever delightful Brian Pillings. I'm SOOOO excited about MANY of them…and they just were the tip of the iceburg! On our way out, they handed us a NEW catalog and stamp set! I'm SO glad that I went!

I wanted to share the little favor that I took with me to give out to friends who attended…I had a couple leftover, so I think I forgot to give one to a couple people! Found them at the bottom of my bag! Sorry! And, I never did run into my friend (BARBARA!!!), they must have run out the back door as soon as it was over! lol! Inside the little pouch were M&Ms!

The base is 3 1/4 x 8 1/2, scored (long side at top) at 4 and 8. Fold the side flap in and add Sticky Strip to flap and bottom to make pouch.
Cut a 3/4 x 4 piece of Real Red Designer Paper Stack for the bottom.
Used the On Film Framelit with Silver Cardstock for the background.
For the projector: 3/4 Basic Black & 3/8" Silver Circles for the film wheels, box is 1 x 1 3/4 Basic Black, lens is the Basic Black Triangle Punch cut down a little. I cut strips of Basic Black for the tripod legs and strips of Silver to decorate the projector.
Finally I stamped Admit One from Take a Ticket with Black Stazon on Whisper White and punched it, then placed on the front!

Instead of M&Ms inside, a movie gift card would fit perfect…or add them both!

I have a BIG day of stamping coming up! Need to get some things done for my blog and a few challenges coming up! PLUS swaps for my cruise…I'm using the NEW stamp set! Woohoo!!!!
