Keep Stamping Challenge #1 – Timeless Tropical

One of the demo Facebook pages I belong to issued an ongoing weekly challenge to “Keep Stamping”! This week is a lovely color combination. Use one, two or ALL the colors featured! I thought I’d play along and you can, too!

I love this recent tropical set, Timeless Tropical in the Occasions Catalog…and it will be especially nice if I actually get to use it for my upcoming Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip to Maui! Who knows if we will still be able to go in July! But, this card was pretty easy to put together, especially since I had most of the “starts” sitting on my desk! The flower was done, the tag was done…all I did was stamp a couple leaves, tie the ribbon on the tag and make the base card from one of the retiring In Colors, Grapefruit Grove! Nice!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Grapefruit Grove cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock was embossed with the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder.
The flower from Timeless Tropical stamp set was stamped with Versamark on Shimmer White cardstock, then watercolored with Terracotta Tile, Mango Melody and Grapefruit Grove Reinkers and the AquaPainter.
The flower was cut with the In the Tropics Dies. The center of the flower was cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock with the die.
Two leaves from Timeless Tropical stamp set were stamped with Old Olive on the Old Olive print in the Tropical Oasis Designer Paper, then cut with the Dies.
The tag was cut from Grapefruit Grove cardstock with the Bonanza Dies and tied with Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon. The greeting from Timeless Tropical was stamped with Memento Black Ink at the top of the tag.
The tag was added to the front and the flower/leaves added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A Coastal Cabana Glitter Enamel Dot was added to the center of the flower for a little bling!

IM117 – Honey Bee

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week’s inspiration is some yummy looking bee and flower cookies!

So, Stampin’ Up!’s Honey Bee Bundle is perfect for this challenge! And, don’t you LOVE that pop of Coastal Cabana in the flower centers?

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Daffodil Delight cardstock and scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
- On top is 4 x 5-1/4 Coastal Cabana Cardstock layer.
- The 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Whisper White cardstock has a 2 x 3-7/8 piece of floral Golden Honey DSP was added on the left side, with a 1/2 x 3-7/8 piece of striped Golden Honey DSP to hide the seam.
- The flowers were colored with Light & Dark Daffodil Delight, Light & Dark Mango Melody, and Light & Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends.
- The bee hive was stamped with Daffodil Delight Ink on Whisper White cardstock, then cut with the Detailed Bees Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Three bees were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock, and also cut with the Detailed Bees Die, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The flower was punched from Flirty Flamingo cardstock with the Small Bloom Punch (free SAB product!)
- The greeting from Honey Bee was stamped with Coastal Cabana Ink on Whisper White, trimmed and added to the bee hive.
- Finally, the Glitter Enamel Dots were added to the center of the flowers.

Saturday Blog Hop – Last Chance SAB

Happy Saturday! It’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop and our theme this week is Last Chance Sale-a-Bration. Can you believe there is only a few more days to take advantage of the BEST sale of the year?

THOUGHTFUL BLOOMS

I think this Thoughtful Blooms stamp set was the first SAB I picked and I have used it the most! I love the Stone Embossing Folder in the background that is also a FREE SAB item!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was embossed with the Stone (FREE SAB) Embossing Folder.
A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Pleased as Punch DSP was added across the front with a 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Granny Apple Green cardstock under it.
The Stitched So Sweetly label was cut with the Dies from Whisper White cardstock, and the lattice image from Thoughtful Blooms was stamped in the center with Coastal Cabana Ink. Congratulations was stamped with Memento Black Ink towards the bottom.
The flowers were stamped with Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Inks on Whisper White cardstock and punched with the Blooms Punch (FREE SAB). Some Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots were placed in the centers and they were popped up with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The leaves were stamped with Granny Apple Green and hand-cut, then tucked around the flowers.

CCMC605 – Forever Blossoms

Hello everyone! Happy Thursday! It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! This week we have a pretty color combination. I knew right away that I wanted to use flowers…it is spring, right? I was pleasantly surprised how fast winter went by this year! Of course, it helped that I spent a little time with my girlfriend, Annette, who lives in Florida! lol!

Here’s what I did with the color challenge using Forever Blossoms stamp set, Cherry Blossom Dies, and Stitched So Sweetly Dies! I sure hope these Stitched So Sweetly dies are in the new annual catalog…I’m using them ALL the time!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock, adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it a 3D look.
A 2-1/4 x 4-1/2 piece of Birthday Bonanza DSP was added to the background towards the right side.
A 1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock was added on top.
The largest label in Stitched So Sweetly Dies was cut from Grapefruit Grove cardstock.
The Happy Birthday greeting from Peaceful Moments was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock, then cut with the next smaller label in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. They were both added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The large flower stem and single flower from Forever Blossoms stamp set were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, then cut with the Cherry Blossom Dies.
The bottom portion of the large floral image was cut off and all flowers colored with Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana and Grapefruit Grove Ink Refills and AquaPainter. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots were added to the flower centers and label.

IM116 – Timeless Tropical

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week’s inspiration is a fun floral headpiece!

It looked like flowers you’d find in Hawaii to me, so I pulled out Timeless Tropical stamp set for my card.

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock and scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was stamped with the speckle stamp in Beauty Abounds in the upper left and lower right corners.
- The flowers were stamped with Versamark on Shimmer White cardstock, then embossed with White Embossing Powders.
- I spritzed the cardstock with water, then used an AquaPainter and Poppy Parade, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Shaded Spruce and Old Olive Ink Refills to give the watercolor look to the flowers. They were cut out with the In The Tropics Dies.
- The top of the Pineapple and two of the small ferns were cut with the Dies from Shaded Spruce cardstock.
- The greeting was stamped with Shaded Spruce on Whisper White and punched with the Label Me Fancy Punch.
- Everything was added to the Crumb Cake llayer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The centers of the flowers were cut with the Die from Daffodil Delight cardstock, then added with Mini Glue Dots.
- Some red Holiday Rhinestones (still available!) were added to the centers and one green one to the pineapple top.

Saturday Blog Hop – Let’s Get Away

Happy Saturday! It’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop and our theme this week is Let’s Get Away…cards with a travel theme! Since it is still cold here in Ohio, I could use a little getaway! I’ve had this cute little set for a while, but hadn’t used it…thought it was perfect to pull out and use for this challenge! Follow my bliss? That would be to a warm, tropical place every winter!

ON TO ADVENTURE

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pretty Peacock cardstock.
A 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Tropical Oasis Designer Paper is added down the center.
A 2 x 3-3/8 piece of Crumb Cake is torn across the top diagonally, then embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder. It is layered on a 3-1/4 x 3-3/8 piece of Pool Party cardstock, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting is stamped with Memento Black Ink in the upper right corner.
The lady from On To Adventure was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and colored with Light & Dark Mango Melody, Light and Dark Flirty Flamingo, Light Poppy Parade, Light & Dark Crumb Cake, Light Petal Pink, Light Basic Black and Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. She was hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The palm trees from Timeless Tropical were inked with Early Espresso, Old Olive and Shaded Spruce Markers, then stamped on Whisper White. It was cut with the In The Tropics Dies and added to the front.
A trio of Holiday Rhinestones (carryover list) were added to the background.

Happy Thursday everyone!!! This week on Create with Connie and Mary’s Thursday Challenge, we have a fun sketch for you to try!

I used a new set for me…Stampin’ Up!’s On To Adventure! I love the little characters in this set…

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Mint Macaron cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top, the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Sahara Sand cardstock is embossed with the Argyle Embossing Folder.
The 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 golf flag print from Country Club Designer Paper was a perfect match and added to the front.
A 3/4 x 4-1/4 strip of Night of Navy was adhered across the front.
The Stitched Rectangle was cut with the Die from Whisper White cardstock. It was stamped with the golf guy from On To Adventure in Memento Black Ink and colored with Light & Dark Mint Macaron, Light & Dark Night of Navy, Light Petal Pink, Light Flirty Flamingo, Dark Crumb Cake, and Light Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends.
The rectangle is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

IM115 – Tags in Bloom

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week’s inspiration is this beautiful necklace! Not really a style I’d wear, but I do like the colors, so that is what I used for my card.

One of Stampin’ Up!’s second release free Sale-A-Bration stamp sets is Tags in Bloom, so I used it for my card, along with Lily Impressions Designer Paper, which is another FREE Sale-A-Bration product!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Garden Green cardstock and scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
- A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White is added next.
- Three 1-1/4 x 3-3/4 pieces of Lily Impressions Designer Paper was added on front (doesn’t that look like the marbled look on the necklace?)
- A 1/2 x 4-1/2 piece of Gold Glimmer Paper was added across the center.
- The Tags in Bloom floral tag image was stamped with Versamark on Whisper White, then hand-cut and added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The Label Me Lovely tag was punched from Garden Green cardstock and adhered to the tag.
- Just for You from Tags in Bloom was stamped with Garden Green Ink on Whisper White cardstock and punched with the Label Me Fancy Punch. It was added to the center with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A couple Gold Glimmer Enamel Dots were added above and below the greeting.
