Saturday Blog Hop – Encourage

Happy Saturday and Happy New Year!!!  One of the best things about the New Year and getting a new catalog (the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs are here!) is that I get in the mood to organize.  Once I’ve cleared out the Holiday Catalog items to make room, it seems to get the entire process started.  Today’s project is labeling and “filing” all my new Die Cuts.  I place them on Magnetic Cards and in a plastic sleeve to protect them, then file them in a basket in my drawer (in alphabetical order, of course!)  Hard thing is that the stamp set and die set names aren’t the same.  So, I make a cross-reference sheet to help me with that.  I print it and keep it in my drawer.  That’s on today’s list to make, too!

This month on Create with Connie and Mary blog hops, we are featuring “empowerment words”.  Every Saturday we will have a new word that hopefully inspires the card we make.  This week’s Saturday Blog Hop word is “Encourage”.  I find out I send a lot of encouragement cards to those that might need a little cheer.  I think this one will put a smile on their face!

DRESSED TO IMPRESS

Who wouldn’t like that little bit of encouragement, especially on a dreary day?

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lovely Lipstick cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The Whisper White layer is 3-3/4 x5.
  • The Best Dressed DSP lipstick print is cut to 2-3/4 x 4 and added on top.
  • The Best Dressed DSP striped print is cut to 1 x 3-3/4 and added across the front towards the bottom.
  • A 1/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Silver Glimmer Paper was added on top.
  • The 2-1/4 Circle was punched from Whisper White cardstock and stamped with the Dressed to Impress greeting in Memento Black Ink.
  • The small smudge image was stamped several times with Lovely Lipstick Ink across the word lipstick.  The circle was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The lipstick image from Dressed to Impress stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White cardstock and colored with Lovely Lipstick Light & Dark and Smoky Slate Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends.  It was cut with the Dies ad added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two buttons from the Dies were cut from Petal Pink cardstock and added next to the circle with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CCMC593 – Painted Poppies

Happy Thursday!  TOMORROW is the day!  The Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration rewards catalogs will go live!  Are you ready?  I have loved playing with the new products the past couple weeks. We have a pretty color combination for you to try this week on Create with Connie and Mary.

 

 

I must admit, the soft colors were a little more challenging to work with when it is SO cold and snowy around here!  But, hopefully my flowery card will get you thinking of spring!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Petal Pink cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Mint Macaron cardstock.
  • The 3-1/2 x 4 piece of Whisper White cardstock was stamped randomly with the splatter image in Painted Poppies stamp set and the colors of Purple Posy (or stamped off Highland Heather if you don’t have that ink pad), Mint Macaron and Petal Pink Inks.
  • The large flower from Painted Poppies was stamped over top of the splatters with Memento Black Ink.  TIP:  Keep your ink pad well inked for the centers to really show up!)
  • The stamped panel was added to a 3-3/4 x 4 piece of Basic Black cardstock.
  • A length of new Petal Pink Metallic Edge Ribbon was wrapped around and tied in a knot, then the panel added to the front.
  • Happy Birthday was stamped with Memento Black on Whisper White cardstock and cut with the label in Painted Labels Dies.  It was trimmed along the edges at the indentation, then layered on another label cut from Basic Black cardstock to give it a matted look.
  • Two Frosted Flower embellishments were added on each side of the greeting for a little more bling!

Club and Downline Gifts – Medium Daisy

Every year I try to think of something that my Club Members and Downline would like for Christmas.  I appreciate  them SO much and they are the lifeline of my business!  This year I had some Tipsy Tombow Glue Holders made (Etsy here) and filled them with the Tombow Glue from Stampin’ Up!  Of course, they had to be decorated, right?  I keep mine on my desk all the time, so it has to be pretty!  I made mine in Crushed Curry to match my studio, but these I did in reds for a more Christmas look.

I’ve heard from most of the people I’ve sent them to and they really liked them!  I decorated the front with Poppy Parade/Real Red Medium Daisy Punches and a Gold Faceted Gem in the center.  The leaves are Granny Apple Green with Garden Green leaves stamped on them and punched with the Trio Leaf Punch.

Maui Achievers Blog Hop – December 2019

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone!!!  Our Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip Achievers get together each month for a Blog Hop!   • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • On top is a 3-3/4 x 5 piece of From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper.
  • Across towards the bottom is a 1/2 x 4-1/4 strip of Real Red cardstock.
  • A 1-1/4 x 2-1/2 piece of striped From My Heart DSP was added to a 2-1/2 x 3-1/4 piece of Whisper White.
  • The Love You Lots greeting from Heartfelt Stamp Set was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the lower right corner.  This piece was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • One of the printed hearts from the From My Heart DSP was punched with the Scallop Heart Punch Pack and stamped the small heart with Real Red Ink on the inside.  It is popped up on the Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A From My Heart Faceted Gem was added to the punched heart for a little bling!

IM103 – So Many Stars

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week’s inspiration is a beautiful garland of gold and red ornaments!

I decided to use the colors for inspiration and the hanging star for my card.  The Gold Glitter Enamel Dots made perfect “beads”.

 

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Very Vanilla cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • On top, the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was embossed with the Beads & Baubles Embossing Folder.
    • The stars were cut with the Stitched Stars Dies…the largest from Soft Suede cardstock, the medium one from Gold Foil Paper and the center star from Gold Glimmer Paper.  They were adhered together and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • A big red bow was made from the Real Red 1″ Ruched Ribbon and added to the top of the star with Mini Glue Dots.
    • The beaded string was made from a row of Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.
    • Peace from So Many Stars was stamped with Delicata Golden Glitz Ink (now out of stock) and hand-cut, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Saturday Blog Hop – Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Happy Saturday! It’s time for another Saturday Blog Hop and we have been inspired by Christmas Carols over the past few weeks! Our fourth Christmas Carol theme is “Walking in a Winter Wonderland”…cards that have a winter theme.  I love this song!

SNOW FRONT

One thing I love seeing in the winter are cardinals.  We have a lot of them in the woods behind our house.  Love the pop of red against the white snow!  I always feel it is my grandmother visiting!  And, since I’ve sent out my Christmas Cards already, I made this one a winter birthday card.  There’s a sneak peek of a new Occasions stamp set that I’m SUPER excited about…do you see it?  I also went out of the norm and made a square card!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/2 x 9 Seaside Spray cardstock, scored at 4-1/2 and folded to form a square card.
  • A 1-1/2 x 4-1/2 piece of the polka dot print from Come to Gather Designer Paper was added vertically along the left side, then a 2-1/4 x 4-1/2 piece of the woodgrain print from Come to Gather Designer Paper was added horizontally.
  • The tree from Snow Front was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White cardstock, then cut with the largest Stitched Shape Oval.
  • Two cardinals from Snow Front were stamped with Real Red on scrap Whisper White cardstock, hand-cut and added to the tree.
  • The ground was stamped with Seaside Spray Ink and the snowman with Smoky Slate Ink.  The oval was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Happy Birthday from Label Me Bold (new Occasions stamp set) was stamped with Real Red on Whisper White, then hand-cut and added to the front with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.

CCMC592 – Christmastime is Here

Merry Christmas!  I hope you have a wonderful holiday season filled with family, friends, and lots of great food!  We will have lots of family around, except this is the year our oldest son and his family visit her side in Wisconsin…so we will miss them!  But, we will celebrate with them a week later.  Safe travels everyone!

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge is a fun sketch!  It will run for TWO WEEKS so our team can enjoy the holidays AND so we can convert over to the new Occasions catalog!  I liked this sketch a lot and will definitely be using it again…probably SOON!  lol!

CHRISTMASTIME IS HERE SUITE

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Mossy Meadow cardstock is embossed with the Stylish Scrolls Embossing Folder.
  • The square was cut from Whisper White with the Layering Squares Dies and stamped with the Christmas Rose greeting in Cherry Cobbler Ink in the upper right corner.
  • It is layered on a larger scallop square cut from Cherry Cobbler cardstock with the Layering Squares Die and adhered to the front of the card.
  • A 1 x 3-3/4 strip of Christmastime is Here Designer Paper was added across the square, then a 3/8 x 4-1/2 strip of Gold Glimmer Paper was added on top.
  • The trio of roses were cut from the Christmastime is Here DSP and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two Gold Glitter Enamel Dots were added to the Whisper White.

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week’s inspiration is a fun marshmallow snowman relaxing in a cup of cocoa!

So I wanted to show you one of the big hits at my craft shows this season.  A Stampin’ Up! Acetate Box filled with Starbucks Hot Cocoa and wrapped Hershey Nuggets!  I love the snowman cup idea I saw online using the Let it Snow embellishments and decided to do my version of it.  These make great little gifts and a gift certificate can be tucked inside if you want to give a little bit more!

 

Stampin’ Details:

    • The belly band is 2 x 12 red print Let it Snow DSP.
    • The Layering Circles are Coastal Cabana embossed with the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder and scallop circle cut from Early Espresso.
    • The cup is cut with the Cup of Cheers dies from Whisper White cardstock.
    • The face and arms are the Let it Snow Embellishments.
    • The candy cane was cut with the Cup of Cheers Dies from Real Red and Whisper White and tied with White Baker’s Twine dyed Real Red.
    • The tag is stamped with Enjoy in Memento Black and cut with the tag die in the Cup of Cheers Dies.
    • The “cocoa” is just an oval cut and trimmed to fit the top of the mug and decorated with the little snowballs from the Let it Snow Embellishment Kit.
