Saturday Blog Hop – Animal Kingdom

Happy Saturday! It’s time for another Saturday Blog Hop! This week our CCMC theme is Animal Kingdom, any cards that have animals, birds or insects in them! I had a hard time choosing which set to use, but finally settled on Dino Days!  AND…I went with bright PINK color of Lovely Lipstick for a more feminine look!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lovely Lipstick cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • On top, the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White was stamped with the palm tree trunk in Crumb Cake Ink and the leaves with Old Olive Ink towards the right side.
  • A 1-1/4 x 4 piece of Dinoroar DSP was added to the bottom.
  • The greeting from Dino Days was stamped with Memento Black Ink above the DSP.
  • The flying dino was stamped with Lovely Lipstick Ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut with the Dino Die.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some White Baker’s Twine was tied in a bow and added to the neck with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • Finally, a trio of Dinoroar Enamel Shapes were added to the top left corner for a little bling.

CCMC572 – Seaside Notions

Happy Thursday!  It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge!  This time it is a fun sketch challenge…I love sketches!

 

I pulled out my Seaside Notions stamp set again…thought the shells would be perfect for the little circles! And, I love that mosaic designer paper!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Very Vanilla cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • On top is a 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 layer of Basic Black cardstock.
  • The mosaic DSP from Mosaic Mood Designer Paper is added on top.
  • The Stitched Circle was cut from Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped with Happy Birthday from Seaside Notions in Memento Black Ink towards the top.  It was layered on the Layering Scallop Circle cut from Basic Black cardstock.
  • The shells were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, then colored with Petal Pink and Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends, then hand-cut and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A 3/8 x 3-1/2 strip of Mint Macaron cardstock was adhered to a 1/2 x 3-5/8 strip of Basic Black and added to the front.
  • The Circle was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots were added to the background.
  • A little Wink of Stella was added to the shells for a little sparkle.

Wiggle Worm

Hi everyone!!!  I am usually so busy with blogging for our Create with Connie and Mary challenges that I don’t get a chance to blog some of my other cards.  I have SEVERAL swap cards I’ve made that I haven’t shared!  So, here is the first one using Wiggle Worm that I did for the Stampin’ Up! Trip Achievers Swap!

WIGGLE WORM BUNDLE

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Old Olive cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • On top is a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 layer of Shaded Spruce cardstock.
  • The 3-1/8 x 4-5/8 layer of Whisper White cardstock has a 2 x 3-1/8 piece of Garden Lane Designer Paper added to the bottom.
  • The grass was cut with the Wiggle Bugs Die from Shaded Spruce cardstock and placed across the seam.
  • Cute as a Bug was stamped with Memento Black Ink and the clouds with Mint Macaron.
  • The ladybug was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White cardstock, colored with Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends and cut with the Wiggle Bugs die.  She was popped up in the grass with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A Real Red Rhinestone jewel was added next to the greeting!

That Wiggle Worm set is really one of my favorites!  You’ll see a couple more swap cards I did using this bundle, too!

IM82 – Royal Peacock

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  Isn’t this tray of peacock cookies beautiful?  I think so!

Of course, I had to use Royal Peacock stamp set for my card.  I played off the white background on some of the cookies with just the feather image!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • On top is a 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Noble Peacock Designer Paper in the medallion pattern.
    • Across the top of the DSP is a 1-1/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Old Olive Noble Peacock Foil Sheet.
    • A 3″ length of 3/8″ Reversible Ribbon was added to the foil.
    • The greeting from Royal Peacock was stamped with Bermuda Bay Ink on Whisper White and cut with the Stitched Shapes Circle.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The peacock feather was also cut from Whisper White and tucked beside the circle.
    • Two Noble Peacock Rhinestones were added to the front.

This is really a pretty simple card, but the metallic finishes really make it POP!  OK, make sure to check out what Mary did with this challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Saturday Blog Hop – Vintage

Happy Saturday! It’s time for another Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our CCMC theme is Vintage or Antique cards!  Should be a FUN challenge!  I don’t normally do that style, so it will be a stretch for me!  I pulled out To a Wild Rose because the flower looks very vintage and old-fashioned to me, and combining it with Woven Threads Designer Paper was a perfect match for a vintage look!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Rococo Rose cardstock was stamped with the Birch Background stamp in Rococo Rose Ink.  It was torn along the right side and adhered.
  • A 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Woven Threads DSP was distressed along the edges and inked with Rococo Rose Ink and a sponge dauber.  It was added towards the left side.
  • A doily was cut in half and tucked under the top of the DSP.
  • Under the 1/2 x 4 strip of coordinating Woven Threads DSP that was sponged along the edges, a length of 3/8 Scallop Lace Trim was added and tied in a bow.
  • The flower was stamped off with Seaside Spray Ink on Whisper White, then stamped second full strength and outlined full-strength and cut with the Wild Rose Die.  A duplicate was made, then the center cut out and layered over the first rose.  The edges were crumpled for some dimension.  A trio of large Pearls were added to the center and it was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two leaves were stamped with Soft Seafoam Ink, cut with the Wild Rose Dies and tucked under the flower.
  • Hello was stamped on a 3/4 x 2 piece of Whisper White with Rococo Rose Ink and cut with a banner end.  It was added under the flower, too.

CCMC571 Sailing Home

It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge! For the month of July we are “Casing the Catalog” and this is our LAST week! What does that mean? We have taken one of the Stampin’ Up! sample cards in the Annual Catalog and using the colors, layout, OR inspiration, we are challenged to make our own card! It will be fun to see what the Challenge Team does with them!  I’ve had SO much fun with these challenges!

The banner look on this card really appealed to me.  I knew immediately I wanted to use Sailing Home on my card.  I followed the general layout of the catalog sample again.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Sahara Sand cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Sahara Sand cardstock, the right edge was torn going down the side.
  • The anchor from Sailing Home stamp set was stamped with Sahara Sand Ink down the side.
  • A 3 x 4 piece of Come Sail Away Designer Paper was cut with a pointed end.
  • The Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine was wrapped around the DSP three times and adhered.  Then the banner was added to the front of the card.
  • The label from the Smooth Sailing Dies was cut from Balmy Blue cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The lighthouse from Sailing Home was stamped with Night of Navy Ink on scrap Whisper White and colored with the Crumb Cake Blends, then cut with the Dies and added to the front.
  • The wheel was cut from Soft Suede cardstock with the Die and adhered beside the label.
  • The greeting was stamped with Night of Navy Ink on 1/2 x 3 piece of Whisper White and cut at an angle, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, covering part of the wheel.
  • Three Silver Metallic Pearls were added to the background of the banner.

July 2019 – Greek Isles Achievers Blog Hop

Time for our monthly Greek Isles Achievers Blog Hop! The theme this month is New Annual Catalog or current special! I’m still working myself thru all the new sets I purchased, but Inspiring Iris is one of my favorites!

Of course, the packaging is just as important as the gift, right?  I used the Woven Threads Designer Paper and new In Colors, Terracotta Tile and Seaside Spray, along with the new embossing folder, Eyelet Lace, and new Delightful Tag Topper punch.  I also added a little Made with Love charm to the clasp.

IM81 – Good Morning Magnolia

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  Here’s another glass art piece that shows gorgeous movement in it!

It reminded me of Good Morning Magnolia with the large blossom, and I used one of the new In Colors, Rococo Rose, on my card!  The Stitched Rectangle Dies make it easy to make a “frame” for my magnolia!

 

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Rococo Rose cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • A 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Woven Threads Designer Paper was added to the front.
    • The rectangle was cut from Whisper White cardstock using two Stitched Rectangles to make the frame (skip a size to get a wider frame like this).  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • A 1/2 x 5-1/2 strip of Granny Apple Green was added down the left side.
    • The large magnolia from Good Morning Magnolia was stamped twice, once with Garden Green and once with Rococo Rose, they were cut with the Magnolia Memory Die.
    • The leaves were sponged with Granny Apple Green Ink, the center of the magnolia with Rococo Rose Ink.  The very center was colored with Daffodil Delight Marker.
    • The blossom was cut/separated from the leaves and stacked on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then added to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Thinking of You was stamped with Memento Black in the background.
    • A few Gold Metallic Pearls were added to the background, too.
