Power Rangers Card

My grandson turned 5 a couple weeks ago and had a Power Ranger party! Of course, I had to figure out how to make a Power Ranger card for him! Blue is his favorite one! I focused just on the helmet. He loved it! A lot of it was free-hand cut. But, of course, I did use all Stampin’ Up colors!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pacific Point cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock.
The helmet was cut in several layers from Pacific Point cardstock from a template I made.
The eye shield and eyes (1/2 circle punch) were cut from Basic Black cardstock and the shield layered onto Basic White cardstock.
The ears, point and mouth were from Smoky Slate cardstock. (Ears using the ghost from the Halloween Punch.)
The number 5 was cut from Smoky Slate cardstock with Stampin’ Up! Playful Alphabet Dies.
The greeting from Stampin’ Up!’s A Grand Kid stamp set was stamped with Pacific Point Ink.

I had SO much fun making this for his birthday!

Punch Art Birthday Shark

My oldest grandchild just turned 8 in June and I realized I forgot to show the card that I made for him. The theme of his party was “sharks” so I had to think out of the box on this one. I checked out Pinterest for a few ideas, then made this one. It is made 100% from Stampin’ Up! products, but there are some retired ones on here!

PUNCH ART BIRTHDAY SHARK

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Bermuda Bay cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is Ombre Bermuda Bay Circles print DSP (retired).
The shark body is Layering Ovals and 1″ circle punch for fins (both retired), cut from Smoky Slate and Basic White cardstock and trimmed.
The tail is the Bow punch trimmed (retired).
The eyes are 1/4″ circle Basic White and 1/8″ circle Basic Black cardstock.
The hat is punched from Calypso Coral print with the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch.
All were popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The hardest to figure out was the mouth, but ended up using the mouth from an jack-o-lantern in the retired stamp set, Sparkly Seasons. Stamped with Basic Gray Ink on Basic White and hand-cut.
The number 8 from Playful Alphabet Dies and the seaweed from Smooth Sailing Dies were cut from Shaded Spruce cardstock and added to the front.
Happy Birthday was stamped with Basic Gray Ink on Basic White and cut from the Floral Gallery Die. It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A gold Glitter Dot was added to the top of the hat for a little bling!

Isn’t that fun? It was a great match to his party plates and decorations!

CCMC663 – Gnome Punch Art

Hello! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. It is a fun sketch challenge!

PUNCH ART GNOME

I’ve done several Gnome punch art cards before. This one I saw from Chiaki Haverstick was updated with the Strawberry, Daisy and Ice Cream punches! SOOOOO fun and easy! Here is my version!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Night of Navy cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Gray Granite cardstock was embossed with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder.
The 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 Well Suited Designer Paper was added to the front on the right side.
Strips of Poppy Parade, Gray Granite and Night of Navy were added to the front staggered.
A circle was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Layering Circles Die. It was stamped with the greeting from A Good Man
The gnome body was punched from Night of Navy with the Strawberry punch upside down. The feet from Basic Black with the Strawberry stem punch. The arms in Blushing Bride and Night of Navy with the Daisy Punch. The beard from Basic White punched with the Strawberry leaf. The nose with Blushing Bride punched with a 3/8″ Circle. The hat punched from Well Suited DSP with the Ice Cream Punch. All were put together and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two navy rhinestones form the Holiday Rhinestones were added to the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Punch Art

This week’s blog hop theme is Punch Art! This theme is one of my favorites! I can’t wait to see what everyone came up with! I used to run monthly Punch Art Classes and they were always SO much fun!

SAILBOAT

I combined my need for a masculine birthday card with our Punch Art theme and made a sailboat using the Ice Cream Cone Punch for the sails! I love the small prints in the Well Suited Designer Paper, but hadn’t used it until now!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Basic Gray cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Poppy Parade cardstock.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic White was inked with Seaside Spray Ink using the Blending Brushes around the edges.
The water was create cutting a 1-1/2 x 5 piece of Seaside Spray cardstock with the Curvy Dies, then embossing it with the Old World Paper Embossing Folder. It was adhered to the bottom of the Basic White.
Happy Birthday from Peaceful Moments stamp set was stamped with Basic Gray Ink.
The boat was cut with the Layering Circles from Poppy Parade cardstock, then cut in half and added to the water.
A pole was cut from Early Espresso cardstock and added to the front.
The sails were punched with the Ice Cream Cone Punch from Well Suited DSP and added with Stampin’ Dimensionals next to the pole.
The small heart was cut from Poppy Parade with the Kangaroo Dies and added with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
Two silver Metal Pearls were added to the boat.

Toy Story Woody

My youngest grandson turned 4 in September and had a Toy Story party! I set out to recreate Woody from Toy Story. Luckily I had kept an old Stampin’ Up! stamp set and die set called YeeHaw that worked perfectly, along with a couple retired punches.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Balmy Blue cardstock, embossed with the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder.
A 1-3/4 x 4 piece of retired Designer Paper was added to the front.
The rope from YeeHaw was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Crumb Cake and cut with the dies.
The hat from YeeHaw was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Cajun Craze and cut with the dies.
Howdy from YeeHaw was stamped with Real Red on Whisper White cardstock and cut with the dies.
The star circle from YeeHaw was stamped with Crushed Curry Ink on Whisper White cardstock and colored with Real Red Marker, then punched with the 1″ Circle Punch.
Woody’s face is the Small Oval Punch from Blushing Bride, eyes are 1/4″ and 1/8″ Circles from Whisper White and Basic Black, highlighted with a White Gel Pen. Nose is 1/8″ punch from Blushing Bride. Mouth is half the 1/4″ circle punch from Cajun Craze. Hair was free cut from Crushed Curry and scarf from Real Red.
Vest is the owl punch from Whisper White and colored with Basic Black cow spots.
Everything was put together, then placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Inside, the greetings and stars from YeeHaw were stamped with Real Red, Early Espresso and Crushed Curry.

Isn’t that fun? He LOVED it and I really enjoyed making it! SO glad I kept that YeeHaw set!

SUOC161 Thankful Turkey

The theme this week on SUO Challenges this week is Celebrations of All Kinds! Make sure to stop by the SUO Challenges blog…we have a NEW look!

With attention in the retail stores going from Halloween to Christmas, Thanksgiving seems to be getting squeezed out! So, I thought I’d bring a little celebration with my Thanksgiving card so the holiday isn’t forgotten! I LOVE how my turkey turned out! Can you tell what I used for the body?

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Cajun Craze, folded in half.
On top, the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake is embossed with the Pretty Paisleys Folder.
The body of the turkey is the Snow Friends Framelit snowman shape cut from Chocolate Chip cardstock. The legs are the snowman arms cut from Pumpkin Pie cardstock. The beak is a triangle cut from Pumpkin Pie cardstock. The wattle along the beak is the holly framelit from the same Snow Friends Framelit Set cut in half.
The eyes are the small circles in the Cookie Builder Punch from Whisper White cardstock and colored with a Basic Black Marker.
The “feathers” are the leaves from May Flower Framelits cut from Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight, and Real Red cardstock.
Thankful banner from Acorny Thank You was stamped with Cajun Craze Ink on Whisper White and hand cut then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Jar of Haunts Grinch

First…remembering…everything 15 years ago.

I promised I’d show the Grinch I made from the pumpkin in the Jar of Haunts stamp set! I knew when I originally made and posted THIS HALLOWEEN CARD, that the face looked like the Grinch. Several others commented the same thing! Here’s my take on him:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red cardstock, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock, a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Old Olive was embossed with the Cable Knit folder and adhered on top.
Tie a knot in the Watermelon Wonder Mini Striped Ribbon (LOVE that it looks so great for Christmas!) and adhere the ends to the back of the Crumb Cake cardstock.
Naughty or Nice from Greetings from Santa was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the upper left corner.
A Layering Thinlets circle was cut from the Warmth & Cheer Designer Paper Stack and then layered on a Layering Scallop Circle of Real Red cardstock, then placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the Grinch: The pumpkin image from Jar of Haunts was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Old Olive, the cut out and the extra band on the side of the pumpkin cut off to make it smaller. The eyes were stamped on the pumpkin with Memento Black, then stamped again on Whisper White and cut out, colored with Crushed Curry Marker and added over the eyes on the pumpkin. Add a tiny Basic Black cardstock triangle for the nose and hand-draw the mouth with a Basic Black marker. The hat was punched from Real Red and Whisper White with the Jolly Hat Builder Punch and the body suit was punched from Real Red with the Bell Punch. The trim along the neck is a shorter version of the hat band. The Grinch was added to the circles with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

OK…what do you think? I think it turned out REALLY great!!! Fun for my grandkids cards this year!

CCMC400 Grateful Bunch

Wow…we hit 400 challenges this time over on Create with Connie and Mary. Well, honestly, it is our 300th challenge…we started at the number 100! lol! But that is still a LOT of challenges and a lot of different designers helping us! We appreciate them all!

This week we have a beautiful color challenge for you to play along with! I had a lot of fun coming up with my card!

Here you go…I used Grateful Bunch.

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lost Lagoon, folded in half.
A 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Neutrals Designer Paper was adhered to the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White.
The lace image from Grateful Bunch was added above the DSP with Sahara Sand Ink.
A 2-1/2 circle was punched from Lost Lagoon and stamped with the leaf image from Grateful Bunch. A portion was cut off for the base, some trimmed off the center, then the top added for the vase. It is adhered on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two sets of Grateful Bunch flowers were stamped with Delightful Dijon ink on Delightful Dijon cardstock, then punched with the Blossom Bunch Punch. The large flower was stamped with Sahara Sand Ink on Sahara Sand cardstock, punched, then cut apart for leaves to fill in.
Pearls were added to the center of the flowers and the greeting was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink in the upper right corner.
A bow was tied with White Bakers Twine, then added to the vase with a Mini Glue Dot.
