IM42 – Beautiful Blizzard

This week we are inspired by a beautiful woven tapestry! Love the patchwork background on this piece. Of course, the obvious choice would have been to use Dandelion Wishes stamp set…but I wanted to think outside the box a little on this one!

So I used the Beautiful Blizzard Bundle on mine! I love how this background turned out. Can you tell what stamp I used???

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Gorgeous Grape cardstock.
A 3-3/4 x 55 layer of Whisper White is stamped with Season’s Greeting from Beautiful Blizzard stamp set in Memento Black Ink towards the bottom.
A 2-3/4 x 3-1/2 piece o Shimmer White cardstock is spritzed with water, then the “leaves” image from Sheltering Tree was stamped with Poppy Parade and Gorgeous Grape Inks. It was spritzed again with water to make sure they bled together. Let dry.
The snowflakes were cut from Gold Metallic Paper Blizzards Thinlits Die and adhered to the watercolored piece with Monoadhesive Glue.
A few of the Gold Faceted Gems were added to the centers of the larger snowflakes.

CCMC486 Merry Little Labels

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! Love the sketch this week…come play along with us!

With all the great things in the Holiday Catalog, this set hasn’t gotten a lot of love, even though I did get it while on the Incentive Trip in Thailand! I haven’t used much of the Merry Music Designer Paper either, so thought I’d do a combination with both of them! Of course, the snowflakes are from Seasonal Layers Thinlits and cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper…so sparkly!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 2-3/4 x 4 piece of Merry Music Designer Paper is added to the front of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Real Red.
Two 1/2 x 3-1/2 strips of Smoky Slate cardstock were added on top.
The Let is Snow label from Merry Little Labels was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, then punched with the Everyday Label Punch. It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two snowflakes from Seasonal Layers Thinlits were cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, then added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two of the lightest colors of Glitter Enamel Dots were added to the center of the snowflakes so they glimmer as well!

CCMC484 Seasonal Bells

Today we have a fun sketch challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary! I finished my card up late and was so surprised that no one else had used snowflakes on their card! It was what I first thought about when I saw the sketch! So glad this turned out like it did in my head!

Here’s my card:

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is the gold check pattern in Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Paper cut to 4 x 5-1/4.
All four corners of the 3 x 4-1/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock were rounded with the Corner Rounder and placed on top.
A 1-3/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Gold Metallic Paper was cut with a flag end and added on top of the Whisper White.
A 1 x 5 strip of Gold Glimmer Paper was added.
Three snowflakes were cut from Whisper White with the Seasonal Layers Framelits and added on top with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Gold Faceted Gems were added in the center of each snowflake.
The banner Happy Christmas was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Whisper White and hand-cut, then added on top with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Designer Paper

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “Favorite Designer Paper” either from the Annual Catalog or the upcoming Holiday Catalog for their cards this week. And, trust me…this was REALLY hard for me! There are SO many packages of the designer papers that I love!

I went with a new one in the Holiday Catalog called Year of Cheer Specialty Paper. I actually picked this DSP package as one of the prizes in the Hospitality Suite in Thailand because I love the gold and silver snowflakes! I wish this photo did the gold and silver metallic cardstock more justice…it is SO pretty in person!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Silver Metallic cardstock
The 3-1/4 x 4-1/2 piece of Year of Cheer DSP is layered on a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Gold Metallic cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Across the front is a 1 x 4 piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamped with the greeting from Holly Berry Happiness in Memento Black Ink. It is layered with a 1/4 x 4 piece of Gold Metallic cardstock along the bottom.
Two of the snowflakes from Colorful Season thinlits were cut from Gold Metallic cardstock and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper (take the backing of the DD Glimmer first to make it easier to cut.) They were adhered to the front.
Two of the lightest Glimmer Dots were placed in the center of the snowflakes.

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Color Blue

But, it’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “Our Favorite Blue Color” this week. Although I’m certainly not wishing the summer away, I do LOVE Soft Sky and it naturally pairs with snowflakes. While this card layout isn’t terribly creative (remember, I’m in the middle of a move!), I did use the pretty snowflakes in the Seasonal Layers Thinlets and one of the new embossing folders, Oh My Stars. I felt they resembled snowflakes, too!

Here are the details on this card:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The top half of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Soft Sky was embossed with the Oh My Stars Embossing Folder.
At the bottom, the greeting from Flurry of Wishes was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
The snowflakes from Seasonal Layers Thinlets were cut from Whisper White cardstock, covered with Clear Wink of Stella, and added to the front of the card.
Rhinestone jewels were added to the centers.

SUOC163 Tin of Tags

On a personal note: Prayer warriors…please say a prayer for my dad, Jerry, today as he undergoes open heart bypass surgery. Pray for the skill of the physicians and the staff caring for him and for his recovery and continued health! Thank you!

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is Holiday Elegance! Oh so many ways you could go with this theme! I chose to continue with my love of embossing and picked the snowflake from Tin of Tags as the focal images on my card! It is SO pretty in real life!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Silver Glimmer Paper. (To save this beautiful paper, I did cut a big rectangle out of the center!)
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White cardstock has been randomly stamped with the Snowflake from Tin of Tags stamp set with Versamark Ink, then embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.
Joy to the Word from the same Tin of Tags stamp set is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Whisper White and cut with the circle Stitched Shape Framelit. Then layered on the Layering Scallop Circle Framelit cut from Silver Metallic Cardstock.

As I said, lots of shimmer and shine on this card…which truly represents Holiday Elegance for me! Check out what the others on the SUO Challenge Design Team came up with this time! I’m sure there will be some BEAUTIFUL cards as this group is SO talented!

Stitched with Cheer

Hope you all had a great weekend! We got to spend time with all four of the grandkids together (and their parents!), I did a fairly successful craft fair on Saturday and got in a nap on Sunday! Plus watched some awesome college football games on Saturday night (which is why I needed the nap on Sunday!) lol! Need to get one of those in every once in a while and the time change still has me out of sorts for some reason.

This layout may look familiar, I used the Create with Connie and Mary sketch from a couple weeks ago. This was the original card I made, then I went in a little different direction for the one I actually used that week. I really like this one, too. AND…I was so surprised to see that the snowflake in this Stitched with Cheer stamp set fits in the Snow Flurry Punch! It isn’t marked in the catalog as fitting, but it does perfectly!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Soft Sky that has been embossed with the Snow Flurry Folder and sponged with White Craft Ink along the edges.
Two snowflakes in Stitched with Cheer were stamped in the background with Soft Sky Ink. Then three snowflakes stamped on Whisper White and punched with the Snow Flurry punch (leave space between them!). They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Stitched with Cheer was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the lower right corner.
Rhinestones were added to the center of the snowflakes and scattered in the background.

This was close to being my Christmas Card this year because I liked it that much! But, I did go in another direction…I’ll be showing that one off after I mail them next month!

Tin of Tags

Several weeks ago, I worked on several cards using Tin of Tags and these soft colors. You can see the one I posted already HERE. So, here’s another slightly different one I did!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Smoky Slate cardstock, folded in half.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Fancy Frost Specialty Designer Paper is textured, so I sponged Pink Pirouette Ink over top to bring out the embossed look, then adhered to the base card.
A 2-1/4 x 4 panel of Whisper White was randomly stamped with the snowflake in Tin of Cards with Pink Pirouette and Smoky Slate Inks. It was added to a 2-1/2 x 4 panel of Smoky Slate, then adhered across the front.
Warm Wishes from Tin of Cards stamp set was stamped with Smoky Slate on Whisper White, then cut with the Layering Circles Framelits. It was adhered to the Scallop Layering Circle slightly larger of Smoky Slate cardstock, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A short length of Silver Glimmer Ribbon was added from the back of the Fancy Frost DSP layer to under the circle. Then a bow tied with more Silver Glimmer Ribbon and adhered with Mini Glue Dots to the front.
