I’ll admit…I purchased this set during preorder and hadn’t even inked it up! So many other sets to use, I guess! But, the color challenge this week over on Create with Connie and Mary is perfect for it, so I pulled it out to use!

And here’s my card! Can I say I’m CRAZY about Something Borrowed Designer Paper??? LOVE it! It goes great with almost every color!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Sahara Sand, folded in half.
Basic Black layer is 4 x 5-1/4.
Something Borrowed Designer Paper layer is 3-3/4 x 5
Whisper White strip for greeting is 3/4 x 3, stamped with Celebrating You from Crazy About You stamp set in Tuxedo Black Ink.
3″ strip of Basic Black punched with Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border and adhered under Whisper White.
The flower was stamped twice with Hello Honey Ink on Whisper White and punched with the Flower Medallion Punch once, then the center cut out of the other and added to the center with Stampin’ Dimensional.
A Basic Black button was tied with White Bakers Twine and added to the center of the flower.
The leaves were stamped with Sahara Sand Ink and cut out, then tucked under the flower and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Painted Petals

This card was my Control Freaks card for the Occasions Catalog swap! I couldn’t wait to play with the Painted Petals set and this was the first card I made with it!

Here are the details for you:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Whisper White folded in half.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party was embossed with the Spring Flowers folder.
Across the front is a 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of the green stripe pattern in the Painted Blooms Designer Paper.
Whisper White was cut from the third from smallest Oval Framelit. Using the Painted Petals Stamp Set, the trio of flowers were stamped with Pool Party, the leaves from Pear Pizzazz, the dots with So Saffron and the greeting in Tuxedo Black Ink.
Pearls were colored with the Daffodil Delight Blendabilities Markers and placed in the center of the flowers.
A bow was tied with the Wild Wasabi Thick Twine and added under the greeting with a Mini Glue Dot.

SUOC116 Easter Bunny Shape Card

The theme this week on SUO Challenges is shaped cards. The challenge is ANY shape besides square and rectangle! What a fun challenge! Of course, you know that I get inspired by many things I see around in magazines and stores. When I saw this pillow on the back of Pier One’s catalog, I knew that it would make a fun shaped card!

So here is my version in shaped card form! I used the Sale-A-Bration paper, Irresistibly Yours, and the Oval Framelits to make her.

Here are the details:

Cut two of the second from largest Ovals Framelits, one from Irresistibly Yours DSP and one from Whisper White. Score the Whisper White across one end approx 3/4″ down from the tip of the oval.
Sponge the Irresistibly Yours DSP oval with Crisp Cantaloupe Ink…love how the flowers pop!
Cut four of the second from smallest Oval Framelits from the Irresistibly Yours DSP, and also sponge with Crisp Cantaloupe Ink.
Adhere two ears above the score line on the Whisper White oval, then adhere above the score line to the back of the body DSP oval to form the card. The ears will be sandwiched between the two layers.
Trim off just a small sliver of the bottom of the two larger ovals so the card will stand upright easily. Adhere the legs to the inside of the DSP layer.
Cut four five-petal Whisper White flowers from the Bouquet Bigz L Die. Crumple them and adhere together to form fluffy tail. Place a White button in the center to hide the holes. Adhere on large ovals for bunny’s tail.
Stamp Happy Easter from Indescribable Gift stamp set with Tuxedo Black ink on 1/2″ scrap of Whisper White, cut flag ends and curl. Adhere center portion to bunny.

I was in a Go Divas swap at Leadership and ended up making this for my swap card. I knew I wanted to use Stampin’ Up!’s new wedding set, Your Perfect Day. And the new Blendabilities of Pink Pirouette and Wild Wasabi in the Occasions Catalog worked perfectly with it. Of course, you could change out the colors depending on the wedding colors if you wanted.

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Basic Black, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Sahara Sand, add a 2 x 5-1/4 strip of Something Borrowed Designer Paper. Adhere to base.
Cut the Whisper White cardstock with the Circle Framelit (fifth from smallest). Stamp the Wedding Cake and greeting with Tuxedo Black Ink. Color with Pink Pirouette and Wild Wasabi Blendabilities Markers. Add to front of card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Cut a 3/8 x 4 strip of Basic Black cardstock to go under the bottom of the circle.
Cut the Pink Pirouette cardstaock with the Circle Framelit (second from smallest). Adhere under the larger circle on the bottom left.
Tie a bow (sorry mine is flopping here!) from Thick White Twine, add to Pink Pirouette circle with a Mini Glue Dot.
Punch the flower in Itty Bitty Accents from Pink Pirouette cardstock and add to cake. Add small Rhinestone in the center of flower.

I haven’t purchased a new wedding set in a long time and I especially like this one with all the fun greetings in it!

Week 3 Blog Hop: Painted Petals Favor

We are just finishing up Week 3 on our Create with Connie and Mary Spring Collection 2015! I used Stampin’ Up!’s stamp set, Painted Petals, for my card set this week that subscribers saw this past Thursday! So, I’ve made a little favor you can make to go along with the card set for your class or gift!

Slip off the belly band and open it up to store your little treat!

I know you are going to want measurements, right? Here you go!

The base is 3 1/2 x 11 Pistachio Pudding, scored at 3-3/4, 4-1/4, and 8-1/4, fold all scorelines inside towards the center.
Emboss the front panel (closest two the double score lines) with Spring Flowers folder.
On the edge closest to the single score line, push the Word Window punch in as far as it will go and punch the width needed for your treat.
Place a piece of Sticky Strip on that same end, place your treat, then press the Sticky Strip flap down to hold it in place.
On the front, add a 3-1/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Something Borrowed Designer Paper.
For the belly band, cut a 1 x 11 piece of Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock. Score at 5-1/4 and 5-3/4, wrap around base. Add Sahara Sand Lace to bottom of front piece.
Pierce a hole on the open ends and place a Candy Dot Brad Base. Add green Subtles Candy Dot to center. Trim ends with a flag cut.
Cut second from smallest Oval with Oval Framelits from Whisper White cardstock. Stamp Thank You in Tuxedo Black Ink, the stems with Pistachio Pudding, the flowers with Crisp Cantaloupe and the dotted line with Calypso Coral. Sponge around edges with Pistachio Pudding Ink. Add to Belly Band with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Tie a Coastal Cabana bow and add to stems with Mini Glue Dot.

CCMC341 Indescribable Gift

On Create with Connie and Mary’s Thursday Challenge, we have a wonderful sketch challenge for you to try!

And here’s my card. I love the huge flower image in Stampin’ Up!’s Indescribable Gift stamp set!

Here are the details:

The base card is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Pink Pirouette.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, stamp the flower image towards the bottom left side with Tuxedo Black Ink.
Color with Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake and Wild Wasabi Blendabilities Markers.
Across the top, add a 3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Something Borrowed Designer Paper.
Stamp the greeting on a 1-1/2 x 2 piece of Pink Pirouette with Tuxedo Black Ink, cut a flag end. Cut a 1/2 x 2-1/2 piece of coordinating DSP and cut a flag end. Place both banners on the front top right with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Wrap Wild Wasabi Thick Twine around the Whisper White twice and secure in the back. Tie a bow around the front right side twine.
Adhere Whisper White panel to front of base card.

Bouquet Bigz Die

Well, made it back safely from Leadership in Orlando on Saturday night. I moved up my flight from Sunday due to all the snow that we were supposed to get. Ended up not being much of anything…but I was glad I came home just in case. I knew I probably wouldn’t have slept at all thinking about it anyway. I also brought home a bad cold! It hit me the first day I was there. Two good nights of sleep and I’m feeling much better.

One of the fun things of Leadership is giving roommate and friend gifts. Here’s what I made my roommate, Annette, with the new Bouquet Bigz Die!

It is a fun desk notepad that I decorated with a belly band and the big flower on top from the Bouquet Bigz Die in the Occasions Catalog. Real Red, Night of Navy, Baked Brown Sugar and Very Vanilla cardstocks matched it PERFECTLY!

I also made a matching bag tag for her Leadership bag so it didn’t get mixed up with the thousands of other bags! I just used the smaller petals to make the smaller flower.

I normally don’t do roller coasters or rides, mainly because of a bad experience on The Beast at Kings Island. However, our Manager’s Reception was held at Disney World and I was roped into riding the Hollywood Tower of Terror! Yikes! But…I loved it so much that I rode it TWICE…the second time in front! Great night! These Mickey Mouse shaped Key Lime Shortbread Cookies were my favorite dessert, too!

I used Stampin’ Up!’s stamp set, Sheltering Tree, for my card this week since I used it on my project that subscribers saw this past Thursday! I must say that I loved it and have it on display in my home!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Sahara Sand, folded in half
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Blushing Bride cardstock.
The Whisper White piece is cut on a diagonal and stamped with the Sheltering Tree in Soft Suede. The blossoms on the tree are Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral inks.
The swing is Soft Suede Ink and the ground is Sahara Sand ink.
A trio of In Color Sequins is added to the tree for a little bling.
For a little extra, the Petite Petals Punch was punched from Best Year Ever Designer Paper and the center Itty Bitty Accents flower is Blushing Bride cardstock. In the center is another In Color Sequin.
The greeting is stamped on the diagonal, too, in Soft Suede Ink.

I LOVE this stamp set and what pretty cards it makes!
