CSF934 – Radiant Sunflowers

It’s Thursday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends challenge!  This week a pretty color combination!

RADIANT SUNFLOWERS

These rich colors remind me of flowers late in the summer…they are at full bloom and gorgeous!  I used the upcoming Radiant Sunflowers bundle to achieve that look on today’s card!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Berry Burst cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was added on top.
  • The 3 x 4 piece of Berry Burst Moonlit Flora DSP was angled on the front.
  • A coordinating 3/4 x 4 strip of Golden Glow Moonlight Flora DSP was added across the front on top.
  • The flower cluster was stamped with Basic Black Ink and colored with Berry Burst, Golden Glow and Old Olive/Shaded Spruce.  NOTE:  Did you know you can get a color pretty close to Garden Green by using those two Blends together?  Really wish that SU would put Garden Green in the lineup of Blends!  It was cut with the Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Thinking of You was stamped with Berry Burst Ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut around the letters.  It was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Sunset Sparkle Sequins were added to the background.

It’s a new month and we have a new Creatively Simple theme for August!  “The Mister” is for celebrating all the males in your life!

RELAXING WATERSIDE

The prints in the Waterside Retreat DSP are just perfect for men!  I especially love this fish print…my husband frequently takes our grandkids to the pond to fish!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Misty Moonlight cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The stripe Waterside Retreat DSP is cut 1-1/4 x 4 (two pieces) and adhere on each side.
  • The fish print Waterside Retreat DSP is cut 2-5/8 x 4 and adhered to the center.
  • The label from Scalloped Blooms Dies was cut from Pool Party cardstock and the greeting stamped towards the right with Old Olive Ink.
  • The fishing net was cut with the Relaxing Waterside Dies from Pecan Pie cardstock and adhered under the label.
  • The grass was stamped with Old Olive Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Relaxing Waterside Die, then added to the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of blue Sunset Sparkle Sequins were added to the label and net.

IM450 – Pretty Poinsettia

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration is some pretty colored poinsettias!

PRETTY POINSETTIA

I went with a slimline card size so the three different colored poinsettias would fit comfortably on the front!  The texture in the background mimics the texture on the pots!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 7 x 8-1/2 Poppy Parade cardstock, score at 3-1/2 and folded.
  • A 3-1/4 x 8-1/4 piece of Smoky Slate cardstock was embossed with the Textured Tree Ring Embossing Folder and brushed with Smoky Slate Ink, then added to the front.
  • The two leaf branches were cut with the Die from Old Olive cardstock and brushed with Old Olive Ink along the edges.  They were adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals at the top and bottom.
  • The bottom leaves of the Poinsettias were cut with the Die from Peaceful Pine cardstock and brushed with Peaceful Pine Ink on the edges.
  • The three layers of the Poinsettias were cut with the Dies from Poppy Parade cardstock and brushed with Cherry Cobbler Ink in the centers.  The next from Very Vanilla cardstock and brushed with Soft Sea Foam Ink in the centers, the last from Flirty Flamingo cardstock and brushed with Flirty Flamingo Ink in the centers.  They were layered and adhered together, then added to the leaves.  They were placed over the leaf branches with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Pretty Poinsettia greeting was stamped with Basic Black Hybrid Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the label in the Springtime Scenes Die.  The letters were colored with Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends.  It was tucked into the Very Vanilla poinsettia with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Trios of Antique Pearls were added to each of the poinsettia centers.

Saturday Blog Hop – Back to School

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  This week’s theme is “Back to School”!

JUST PEACHY

I knew I wanted to use the apple in Just Peachy for my card today…but this took off in a different direction!  I love the pencil!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Golden Glow cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Beige cardstock was added on top.
  • A 3 x 5-1/4 piece of Moonlit Flora DSP was added towards the right side.
  • The pencil is a 3 x 5 piece of Crumb Cake that was cut to a point on one end.
  • A 3/4-inch square of Basic Black was cut in half diagonally and added for the pencil tip.
  • A 3/4 x 3 piece of Bubble Bath cardstock was added to the Crumb Cake for the eraser.
  • A 2-3/4 x 3 piece of Golden Glow cardstock was torn on the right side, then added to the front of the pencil just where the point ends.
  • A 1/2 x 3 strip of Smoky Slate cardstock was added between the Bubble Bath and pencil for the metal piece.
  • ABC was cut from Basic Black cardstock using the Mini Alphabet Die and adhered.
  • Just a Note greeting from Just Peachy was stamped with Basic Black Ink.
  • The apple from Just Peachy was stamped with Real Red Ink and the spots with Cherry Cobbler ink on the left side.
  • The leaf was stamped with Peaceful Pine Ink.  Both were hand-cut and added at the bottom with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the top of the apple.

It’s Thursday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends challenge!  This week a cool sketch for you to try!

WEB OF FUN

I’ve love the angles on this card!  And the round element reminded me of a spider web, so that is the direction I went on today’s card!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Black cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pumpkin Pie cardstock was adhered at an angle.
  • Another 3-3/4 x 5 layer of the spider web print in Frightfully Fun DSP was adhered over it at an angle.
  • The large spider web was cut from Basic White cardstock using the Web of Fun Die and adhered.
  • The spider was cut from Basic Black cardstock and lightly rubbed with White Craft Ink so the details showed up.  He was added to the web with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
  • Boo was cut with the Die from Pumpkin Pie cardstock and place so the spider is “holding” it.
  • A trio of orange Sunset Sparkle Sequins are added to the background.

It’s a new month and we have a new Creatively Simple theme for August!  “The Mister” is for celebrating all the males in your life!

FOOTBALL FAN

I just know I’m going to get a LOT of mileage out of this set!  Here’s another card for my OSU Buckeye fans!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of A Wonderful  Match DSP was added on top.
  • A 1-3/4 x 4 piece of Poppy Parade cardstock was added to the left side.
  • The Party Banner was cut from Smoky Slate cardstock and stamped with the greeting from Football Fans in Basic Black Ink.  It was added to the center.
  • The football was stamped with Basic Black Ink on Pecan Pie cardstock and the helmet on Basic Gray cardstock.  They were hand-cut.  Some White Gel Pen were added for details.
  • The little Block O is a decal sticker I had, but I thought it added a little more detail and I couldn’t resist.  Sorry, it isn’t Stampin’ Up!
  • A trio of silver Adhesive Backed Metallic Gems were added to the banner background.

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration is a scarecrow in a field!

FUN FOR FALL

I used Stampin’ Up!’s new Fun For Fall bundle for today’s card!  I love this cute little scarecrow and all the fun accessories!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Old Olive cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of new Sunflower Fields DSP is added on top.
  • A layer of 3-1/4 x 4-3/8 Old Olive cardstock was added to the center.
  • The 3-1/8 x 4-1/4 piece of Basic Beige cardstock was brushed across the top with Cloud Cover Ink and along the bottom with Golden Glow Ink.  The greeting was stamped in the upper left corner with Early Espresso Ink.  It was adhered to the Old Olive layer.
  • The corn stalks were cut twice from Old Olive and the ears from Golden Glow cardstocks and adhered across the bottom approx 1/4″ from bottom.
  • The fence was cut two times and adhered together, then added along the bottom edge.
  • The scarecrow, crow and sunflower heads were stamped with Basic Black Hybrid Ink and colored with Smoky Slate, Cloud Cover, Old Olive, Golden Glow, Poppy Parade, Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends.  They were cut with the Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Crumb Cake Pearls of Beauty were added to the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Case Yourself

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  This week’s theme is “Case Yourself’.  Our assignment was to find a card that is a couple years old and redo it with current products!  I found this one I made back in October 2023.

Thanks & Giving

I used the new Thanks & Giving stamp set (coming out September 1st for customers) on my recreated card!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pecan Pie cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 fall print from Autumn Opulence DSP was added at an angle on the front.
  • The 3 x 4 coordinating medallion print from Autumn Opulence DSP was added at the opposite angle.
  • The Thanks & Giving wreath was stamped with Basic Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Golden Glow, Lost Lagoon and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends.  It was hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Grateful from Thanks & Giving Stamp Set was stamped on 1/2 x 1-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock with Cajun Craze Ink and cut at an angle.  It was added on the side of the wreath.
  • A small bow was made with the 3/8″ Golden Glow Bordered Ribbon and added to the wreath with Mini Glue Dots
  • A trio of Earthy Matte Dots were added to the medallion DSP background.
