Creatively Simple 31 – Nuts & Bolts

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Happy”, and we each create a simple card every Tuesday using that theme!

NUTS & BOLTS

I can say that I am NOT happy that Nuts & Bolts won’t be in the new catalog. It is a darling set for a variety of occasions, and not just for kids! This happy greeting is kind of play on words. It actually is a happy birthday to you greeting, but it made me happy, so I went with it! lol!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Just Jade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
Two 1 x 4-1/4 pieces of Just Jade DSP were added to the background towards the center.
A 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Basic White cardstock was cut with the Stitched Whimsy Die.
The robot was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the lower right corner and colored with Light Just Jade and Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends.
The HB2U greeting was stamped with Just Jade Ink.
A trio of three Just Jade Hexagon Dots were added to the heart and background.

IM222 – Honeybee Home

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have a pretty wildflower canvas!

HONEYBEE HOME

Stampin’ Up! has several sets that would have worked for this inspiration, but I went with Honeybee Home stamp set on my card!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- The 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Basic White was first spritzed with Blushing Bride spatters using the Water Painters and Ink Refill. It gives a subtle texture to the card with just a HINT of color!
- A 1-1/2 x 3-3/4 piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock was stamped with the greeting in Memento Black Ink, then torn across the top and adhered to the bottom of the Basic White cardstock.
- The flowers were stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Light Balmy Blue, Light Old Olive and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends, then cut with the Dies. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The others were directly cut from Pear Pizzazz and Pacific Point cardstocks and adhered around the stamped images with Monoadhesive Glue.
- Some Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon was tied in a bow and added to the stems with a Mini Glue Dot.

Saturday Blog Hop – Easter Favors

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is Easter favors! I seem to always wait until the last minute to do my table favors. This sweet little box designed by Brenda Quintana was just too cute not to recreate for this Easter favor blog hop!

DAFFODIL DAYDREAM

These little boxes are made from the label in the Hippo & Friends Dies (I know! I’m obsessed with these Dies right now!) and will hold quite a bit of candy! But I refused to go buy any Easter candy this soon. I will just EAT it and I’m trying to be good! I’ll wait until the day before Easter and grab something for these boxes, then make sure none stay at my home! lol!

Stampin’ Details:

Two of the largest shaped labels in Hippo & Friends Dies were cut from So Saffron cardstock for the top and bottom. They were embossed with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder.
The top side of the box is 2 x 10-3/8 Hand-Penned Designer Paper, scored at 3/8 on the short side and 3-1/4, 5, 8-1/4, 10 on the long side.
The bottom side of the box is 2 x 10-1/16 Basic White cardstock, scored at 3/8 on the short side and 4-7/8 and 9-3/4 on the long side, FLIP 180 degrees and then score at 2 and 6-7/8.
Fold all the score lines, adhere the short tab to the opposite of each and then add the DSP to the top label and the Basic White to the bottom label.
Add 1-3/4 x 3-1/4 piece of matching DSP to bottom of Basic White box to finish the bottom on the inside.
The daffodil from Daffodil Day was stamped on scrap Basic White with Memento Black Ink and colored with So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Daffodil Dies.
The Easter sentiment was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Basic White, then cut with the small Hippo & Friends Die. They were added to the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Matte Decorative Dots were added to the background.

Well, only about 15 more of these to make for Easter dinner! I think I’ll do them up in a variety of Easter egg colors! Great way to use up some retiring designer paper…you can get 6 from each 12×12 sheet! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. Love today’s sketch challenge!

PANSY PETALS DSP

I’m on a mission to use up the DSP that I have from the current catalog before it retires. I’ve done pretty good on a lot of my packages! I had these pansies already cut from the DSP, so decided to finish them into a card.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Calypso Coral cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
Two 2 x 3-3/4 pieces of Pansy Petals gingham DSP were added to the background.
A Stitched Rectangle was cut from Basic White cardstock and added to the front.
A 1/2 x 4-1/2 strip of the Pansy Petals polka dot DSP was added across the front.
Two of the pansies and four of the leaves were cut from the DSP (use the dies, or hand-cut) and added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Happy Mom Day from Happy & Heartfelt stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 3/4 x 2-3/4 Pale Papaya cardstock and tucked under the pansies on the front.
Two In Color dark green Jewels were added to the Stitched Rectangle.

One Mother’s Day card done! My mother-in-law loves purple, so I think she’ll love this one. OK, go check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Creatively Simple 30 – Eden’s Garden

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Plants”, and we each create a simple card every Tuesday using that theme!

EDEN’S GARDEN

For the last “plants” card this month, I went looking for a stamp set that had a variety of branchy leaves. Eden’s Garden worked perfectly! Then I used some non-green colors to create this SIMPLE card! Anyone else going to miss Misty Moonlight? I love this blue and am very sad it is retiring with the rest of the 2021-22 In Colors! Crossing my fingers that they bring it back one day.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Misty Moonlight cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock is added on top.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic White was stamped with one leaf branch from Eden’s Garden Stamp Set in Crumb Cake Ink randomly along the left side. Then stamped with another leaf branch in Misty Moonlight Ink. It was embossed with the Textile Textures Embossing Folder and then added to the front.
The greeting from Eden’s Garden was stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink on Basic White cardstock, then cut with the Hippo & Friends Die.
It was layered on another Hippo & Friends Die cut from Misty Moonlight cardstock. Both were popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Matte Decorative Dots were added to the background.

IM221 – Hippo Happiness

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have some DARLING mushroom cupcakes!

HIPPO HAPPINESS AND CACTUS BUILDER PUNCH

I don’t have the cute Iconic Dies that Mary used on her card (and inspiration for this cupcake photo!), so had to get creative! Mary likes to challenge me once in a while! But I think I rose to the challenge, even though I used a lot of different dies and punches to get there!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Just Jade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- A 4 x 5-1/2 piece of Bloom Where You Are Planted DSP was added to the front (punch out the mushroom stems with the Cactus Builder Punch in a place that will be covered by the leaf DSP.)
- Add a 2 x 5 piece of the tropical leaf pattern in the Bloom Where You Are Plante DSP and adhere to left side.
- Cut the large medallion with Hippo & Friends Dies from Just Jade cardstock. Stamp the It’s Your Birthday greeting from Mischievous Mouse Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink in upper right corner. Add to front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Cut two different sized Layering Circles from Real Red cardstock with the Dies. Add Basic White 1/4″ circles to the top and trim the bottom on a curve. Use the two punched Cactus Builder mushroom stems and adhere everything to the medallion with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Cut the grass with Palm Dies from Granny Apple Green cardstock. Adhere to front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Cut the flowers from Daffodil Delight, Polished Pink and Bermuda Bay cardstock with the Hippo & Friends flower die. Add to grass.
- Stamp the butterfly from Hippo Happiness with Bumblebee detail and Daffodil Delight background on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Hippo & Friends Die. Add to the background with Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
- Add Matte Decorative Dots to the flower centers and the butterfly body.

Ha! I did it!!! The DSP and the Cactus Builder Punch worked PERFECTLY for the stems of the mushrooms! OK…check out what Mary did with the Inspiration Monday Challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!

CCMC708 – Flowering Rain Boots

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. Love today’s color challenge!

FLOWERING RAIN BOOTS

I’ve used this set SO much recently! I really liked how this one turned out!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Rich Razzleberry cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded. The front was embossed with the Gingham Embossing Folder.
A 2 x 5-1/2 piece of Flowering Tulips Designer Paper was added along the bottom.
A 1/4 x 5-1/2 strip of Fresh Freesia cardstock was added across the top of the DSP to hide the seam.
The next to largest Layering Circle was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Die, then stamped with the stems/leaves in Flowering Rain Boots and Soft Succulent Ink. They were colored with Light Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends. The tops were inked with Fresh Freesia then a sponge dauber used to add Rich Razzleberry Ink along the bottoms. Then the Light Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blends filled in the rest of the color on the blossoms. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Rain or Shine greeting was stamped with Rich Razzleberry Ink on 5/8 x 3-1/4 piece of Soft Succulent cardstock and cut the flag ends. It was adhered to the circle.
A trio of Brushed Brass Butterflies were added to the background.

Achievers Blog Hop – March 2022

Our Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip Achievers get together each month for a Blog Hop! I’m blessed with great customers and downline who helped me achieve this year’s Incentive Trip Reward. I’m still working hard to earn the next Baltic Cruise one! Our theme this month is ANYTHING CURRENT!

WAVES OF INSPIRATION

I was going for a nautical flag look to my background DSP piece. Not sure if it really worked, but I still liked how it turned out.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pacific Point cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party was stamped with the wave image from Waves of Inspiration in the top left and bottom right corners for a textural look.
I cut five 1/2 x 2-3/4 strips of the dark blue Waves of the Ocean Designer Paper. (Did you know that the Stampin’ Up! artist created this DSP by photographing actual poured paint samples? How cool!) and added them to a 2-3/4 x 4-1/2 piece of Basic White cardstock.
The happy birthday greeting from Waves of Inspiration stamp set was stamped with Night of Navy Ink in one of the open Basic White stripes.
A 3/4 x 4 piece of Crumb Cake was added across the front.
The pelican/post was stamped with Soft Suede Ink on a 1-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Basic White cardstock and colored with Light Crumb Cake, Light So Saffron and Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. The bottom was cut at a flag end. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two birds were cut with the Waves Dies from Crumb Cake cardstock.
Two Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels were added to the Crumb Cake strip.
