July 2020 Maui Achievers Blog Hop

Our Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip Achievers get together each month for a Blog Hop! I’m blessed with great customers and downline who helped me achieve this year’s (AND the extended!) Maui trip! July’s blog hop theme is ANYTHING CURRENT!

SENDING SUNSHINE

Since the Maui Achievers SHOULD have been in Maui last week, I thought I’d use my Sending Sunshine stamp set to show what we were missing! Boo! I really missed seeing everyone!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Balmy Blue cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to form the base card.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
The 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Balmy Blue Subtles 6×6 Designer Paper Pack was added down the center.
The scallop rectangle was cut from Balmy Blue cardstock with the Stitched So Sweetly Die, stamped with the Sending Sunshine greeting and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The white label was cut from Whisper White cardstock with the Stitched So Sweetly Die, then stamped with the water in Balm Blue, the sun in Bumblebee, the sky/clouds with Pool Party, the greenery with Granny Apple Green. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the greenery with a Mini Glue Dot.

IM133 – Jar of Flowers

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week’s inspiration is a beautiful floral print.

Blue flowers! I love making blue flowers, even though there aren’t a whole lot of varieties shown in nature. But, we can pretend, right? I actually would love a bouquet of flowers in these colors!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Misty Moonlight cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to form the base card.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party was embossed with the Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder.
- A 2-3/4 x 4 piece of Playing with Patterns Designer Paper was added across the center.
- The Stitched So Sweetly scallop rectangle was cut from Whisper White cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The jar was stamped with Memento Black Ink and the water with Pool Party Ink. The stems were stamped with Old Olive Ink and colored with Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. It was punched out with the Jar Builder Punch and put on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The flower bouquet was stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Pool Party Combo, Bermuda Bay Combo, Old Olive Combo, Seaside Spray Combo. It was hand-cut and some Wink of Stella applied to the petals. It was popped up on the rectangle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The greeting was stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink on Whisper White and cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Die. It was colored with Dark Pool Party and Dark Seaside Spray Blends then added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Two Misty Moonlight In Color Enamel Dots were added to the greeting.

Control Freaks July 2020

ARRANGE A WREATH

I ordered this Arrange a Wreath Bundle first thing when the new Annual Catalog preorder came out in May, but I just got around to using it! I also ordered those awesome 3 x 3 Acetate Boxes…LOVE them, too!

Here’s the card:

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- The 2-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Flowers for Every Season Designer Paper is added to a 2-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Bumblebee cardstock, then added to the front. (Has anyone noticed that I LOVE this DSP print? I know I’ve used it on at least 3 cards so far!)
- The wreath from Wreath Builder Dies was cut from Just Jade cardstock. Another partial wreath (just the center portion) was also cut from Whisper White cardstock. That way I had the center portion in Whisper White that I could stamp the greeting with Magenta Madness Ink and added the Just Jade wreath inlaid around it. Genius!
- The small flower from Arrange a Wreath was stamped on Whisper White cardstock with Magenta Madness Ink full strength, then stamped off. It was also stamped with Bumblebee Ink. They were cut with the Wreath Builder Die and arranged on the wreath with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The leaves were stamped with Just Jade Ink and cut with the die, then tucked under the flowers on the front of the wreath.
- The centers are the In Color Enamel Dots (another product that I LOVE!)

For the box:

The wreath from Arrange a Wreath was stamped with Just Jade Ink, then hand-cut around the edges.
The greeting was stamped with Magenta Madness Ink in the center.
The small flower from Arrange a Wreath was stamped on Whisper White cardstock with Magenta Madness Ink full strength, then stamped off. One was also stamped with Bumblebee Ink. They were cut with the Wreath Builder Die and arranged on the wreath with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The leaves were stamped with Just Jade Ink on Just Jade cardstock and cut with the die, then tucked under the flowers on the front of the wreath.
The centers are the In Color Enamel Dots.
A 1-1/4 x 9-1/2 piece of Magenta Madness cardstock was wrapped around the 3 x 3 Acetate Box and adhered. The wreath was added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the belly band only.

The belly band slips off the box.
Inside, six Hershey Nuggets were wrapped with 1 x 3 pieces of Flowers for Every Season DSP. They were attached to a 3 x 3 piece of Bumblebee cardstock with a Mini Glue Dot so they stayed in place.
Then they slide into the Acetate box easily.

Saturday Blog Hop – Christmas in July

Happy Saturday! Our theme for the CCMC Saturday Blog Hop this week is Christmas In July! SOOOOO many new products and Christmas items in the new August-December Mini Catalog (formerly known as the Holiday Catalog). I pulled out a stamp set I’ve been SO excited to get, Gnome for the Holidays, to use on my card.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 1-1/4 x 4 piece of Heartwarming Hugs DSP was added to the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
A 1/8 x 4 strip of Real Red cardstock was added to hide the seam.
The 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Seaside Spray cardstock was stamped with the snowflake cluster from Snowman Season Stamp Set with Seaside Spray Ink. The greeting was stamped with Memento Black on top.
A 1 x 2-1/2 piece of Whisper White cardstock was cut on a curve and added to the bottom of the tag piece.
The tree was punched from Heartwarming Hugs DSP with the Pine Tree Punch and added to the snowbank. A few Red Rhinestones were added for “ornaments” and some Linen Thread tied in a bow was added to the top. The corners were rounded with the Detailed Trio Punch.
The gnome from Gnome for the Holidays was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock, then colored with Real Red Combo, Old Olive Combo, Smoky Slate Combo, Ivory and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. It was hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ DImensionals.
A red rhinestone was added to the mistletoe bow.

CCMC621 – Celebrate Sunflowers

Happy Thursday! It’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This month we are “casing the catalog” by choosing cards in the Annual Catalog to recreate…use the basic layout or colors, but change it up.

CELEBRATE SUNFLOWERS

I used Stampin’ Up!’s Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set for my card, along with a couple of the new In Colors for this year! I loved the greeting in it and thought it would work for the repetitive background like shown in the sample.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Bumblebee cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Early Espresso.
The 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Cinnamon Cider cardstock was stamped with the greeting from Celebrate Sunflower stamp set using the Stamparatus to space it evenly down the front, using Cinnamon Cider Ink for a tone-on-tone look. Then it was embossed with the Tasteful Textures Embossing Folder.
A label from Tasteful Labels was cut from Vellum and added to the front.
The Bumblebee gingham ribbon was looped and adhere with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
The sunflower was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock and colored with Daffodil Delight Combo, Light Mango Melody, Cinnamon Cider Combo, Granny Apple Green Combo Stampin’ Blends. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I thought this turned out pretty cool! I need to use my Stamparatus more often for this technique! Check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did this week with the “case the catalog” challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Harry Potter card

I thought I’d shown you a card that I made for my grandson, Carter, who turned 7 in June! He has just started reading the first book in the Harry Potter series and loves it! I was inspired by several cards I found on Pinterest. Since I don’t actually have the card in front of me any more, I’ll try to figure the sizes from memory as much as possible!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Bumblebee cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White is adhered on top.
The hair is 2 x 4 and hand cut.
The bottom scarf is 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Bumblebee cardstock, the three 3/4 x 1-1/2 pieces of Merry Merlot cardstock added on top to form the stripe.
The glasses were cut with the Layering Circles Dies or Punches 1-1/2 and 1-3/4, from Basic Black cardstock. The stems are 1/8 strips cut to size.
The eyes are 3/4″ Circles punched from Basic Black cardstock.
The eye highlights are 1/8″ circle punched from Whisper White cardstock.
The number 7 and lighting bolt are cut from the Harry Potter Alphabet printed on my computer.

He was SO excited to open it! One of the things we got him was the Harry Potter Lego Set that coordinated!

IM132 – Floral Essence

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week’s inspiration is a selection of brightly colored yarns.

I looked thru my Designer Paper stash and saw that Flowers for Every Season had pretty much the colors in these yarns! Score! I pulled out an “old” set in the Annual Catalog, Floral Essence, and combined it with new dies, Tasteful Labels, and new In Colors!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Magenta Madness cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to form the base card.
- A 3 x 4 piece of Flowers for Every Season Designer Paper was added to the top of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
- A piece of Magenta Madness Ribbon was added across the front and secured in the back to hide the seam.
- The label from Tasteful Labels was cut from Whisper White cardstock and stamped with the Many Mates greeting in Pacific Point Ink. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The flower from Floral Essence was stamped with Magenta Madness Ink on Whisper White and the center with Bumblebee Ink. The leaves were stamped with Just Jade Ink. They were all hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A trio of In Color Enamel Dots were added for a touch of bling!

Saturday Blog Hop – Tropical Feeling

Happy Saturday! Today’s Saturday Blog Hop theme is in honor of those Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip earners who are unable to go on the trip due to Covid-19 this year. I think Debbie, Brenda and myself are the ones from the Design Team who earned the trip. We are very sad that we aren’t on the lovely island of Maui right now. Boo!!! So, we thought we’d bring our own little tropical feeling this week to help cheer us up. Let’s see those tropical feeling cards!

SENDING SUNSHINE

I combined two sets, Sending Sunshine, a new one in the Annual Catalog, along with Waterfront which has been around for a while. The two styles are VERY similar, and I wanted the palm trees to give my card a more tropical feel. The black lava rocks are a nod to Maui!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Misty Moonlight cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Seaside Spray cardstock is embossed with the Old World Paper Embossing Folder.
A 1-1/4 x 4 strip of Playing with Patterns DSP is added down the left side, with a 1/4 x 4 strip of Bumblebee cardstock to hide the seam.
The scene was stamped on a 2-1/2 x 3-3/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock using Seaside Spray Ink for the water, stamped off for the edge of the water, Crumb Cake sponged and stamped for the sand, Memento Black for the lava rocks, Bumblebee for the sun, Soft Suede for the palm tree trunks and Old Olive for the palm tree leaves. The sky is sponged with Seaside Spray Ink and the clouds stamped with Seaside Spray Ink.
It was layered on the large scallop rectangle from Stitched So Sweetly Dies and cut from Misty Moonlight cardstock and popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting was stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink on a 3/4 x 2-3/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock.
