CCMC620 – Pampered Pets

Hello Thursday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! This month we are doing “Case the Catalog” cards! We have one of the catalog samples as inspiration and can use the layout, the colors or overall design to make our challenge card. I used the layout (and know I’ll be using it again in the future!)

PAMPERED PETS

I went back and forth on whether or not to get the Pampered Pets Suite. Since I’m more of a cat person, I love that they have both dog and cat images in the set! Glad I did get it…so fun!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Flirty Flamingo cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Playful Pets Designer Paper was added for the background.
Two large stitched squares were cut from Flirty Flamingo and Real Red with the Stitched Shapes Dies.
The Playful Pets Trim was wrapped around the Flirty Flamingo square and tied in a bow, then added to the front. The Real Red square was added on top.
The greeting from Pampered Pets was stamped with Memento Black Ink and cut with the second smallest Stitched Shape Oval. It was added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The cat from Pampered Pets was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock and colored with Crumb Cake Combo Blends, the ears and cheeks with Light Flirty Flamingo Blends. It was cut with the Pet Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The mouse was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock, colored with Light Smoky Slate Blends and hand-cut, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A Trio of Red Rhinestones were added to the background.

Way to Goat

I love Stampin’ Up!’s Way to Goat stamp set! The greetings in it are SO fun…and I love this sheepish looking goat the most! I can think of a few people to send this card to! This is one of the cards I did for my Go Divas new catalog swap…I’ll show the second one next week!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Bumblebee cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 piece of World of Goods DSP (I thought this pattern looked like mud you’d find in a farm yard!) was added to a 3 x 4 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.
The greeting in Way to Goat was stamped at the top with Early Espresso Ink and it was added to a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 layer of Early Espresso cardstock.
Some Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon was added to hide the seam and wrapped around to the back and adhered, then the element added to the base card.
The goat was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock and colored with Crumb Cake Combo and Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends. The ground was stamped with Bumblebee Ink. It was cut with the 2″ Layering Circle Die and added to a 2-1/4″ Early Espresso Circle. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A Champagne Rhinestone was added next to the greeting.

IM131 – Jar of Flowers

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week’s inspiration is a row of mason jars filled with flowers!

Of course, Jar of Flowers Bundle immediately came to mind to use. I had a little trouble with the colors, but otherwise I think it came out pretty close to the photo! What do you think?

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded to form the base card.
- A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Seaside Spray cardstock was added on top.
- A 1 x 5-1/4 strip of In Good Taste DSP was added across the bottom.
- The jar from Jar of Flowers was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Merry Merlot, Flirty Flamingo and Whisper White cardstock. The Whisper White was colored around the edges with the Light Seaside Spray Stampin’ Blends. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The rose bouquet from Jar of Flowers was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White twice, the colored with Rococo Rose Combo, Flirty Flamingo Combo, Light Cherry Cobbler, Petal Pink Combo, Old Olive Combo, Dark So Saffron and Light Seaside Spray Stampin’ Blends. Both bouquets were cut out by hand, and one was divided in half. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A double strand of Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the center jar under the bouquet.
- Wink of Stella was added to the jars and flowers.
- Celebrate from Many Mates stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Seaside Spray cardstock, then cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Die.

Saturday Blog Hop – Red/White/Blue

Happy Saturday and Happy 4th of July!

It’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week the Design Team is featuring Red/White/Blue or Patriotic Cards. Brenda is from Canada and we didn’t want to exclude her, so since 4th of July is an American holiday…she can just use the color combination! But, I definitely went 4th of July celebration on my card using the new Wreath Builder and Playful Alphabet Dies! My first time using both of them!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock was embossed with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, then added to the base.
The wreath was cut from Whisper White cardstock with the Wreath Builder Dies and adhered to the front.
Stars were cut from Real Red, Pacific Point and Silver Glimmer Paper with the Stitched Stars Dies, then added to the wreath with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The bow was cut from Silver Glimmer Paper with the Wreath Builder Die and added to the wreath.
USA was cut from Real Red, Pacific Point and Silver Glimmer Paper with the Playful Alphabet Dies, then adhered to Linen Thread stretched across the wreath.
Celebrate from Many Mates was stamped with Real Red Ink on 3/4 x 1-3/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock, layered on a 1/4 x 2-1/4 piece of Pacific Point cardstock, then popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the front.

CCMC619 – Prized Peony

Happy Thursday! It’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This month we are “Casing the Catalog”. Each week, we’ll take a card sample from the catalog and use the layout, colors, or stamps to create our own version. First up is the card on page 18 of the Annual Catalog.

They used the Painted Poppies Bundle in the catalog. I switched it out and used Prized Peony on mine, along with some bright colors!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Magenta Madness cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock is added on top.
A 3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Flowers for Every Seasons DSP was added down the left side.
The scallop trim was cut with the Peony Die from Magenta Madness cardstock and added on the left side next to the DSP.
The Square Vellum Doily was colored with the Light Mango Melody Stampin Blends, then added to the front as a diamond shape.
The large peony in Prized Peony stamp set was stamped once with Magenta Madness Ink, then stamped again with Granny Apple Green Ink on Whisper White cardstock. The blossom was colored with Light & Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends and the stem and leaves with Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. Both were cut out with the Peony Die. Then the blossom cut off the stem and added to the green image with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The flower was added to the doily with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Linen Thread was wrapped several times around my hand, then added to the stem with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
The greeting from Prized Peony was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Bumblebee cardstock, cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Die and added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of In Color Bumblebee Enamel Dots were added in the background.

IM130 – Stitched Stars

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week’s inspiration is a nice patriotic knit blanket!

I really don’t have any current patriotic sets, but knew I could use the Stitched Stars Dies for my card! I kept it simple like the blanket!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pacific Point cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded so the fold is on the left side.
- A 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Whisper White is embossed with the Old World Paper Embossing Folder for texture and stamped with the word Celebrate in Pacific Point Ink.
- It was layered on a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Real Red cardstock and adhered to the front.
- The stars were cut with the Stitched Stars Dies from Pacific Point, Real Red and Silver Glimmer Paper, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Some Red Rhinestones were added on each side of the greeting to represent “stripes” of the flag.

Saturday Blog Hop – Ombre Cards

Happy Saturday! It’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week the Design Team is featuring Ombre Cards…light to dark variations using only one single color! Another challenge! Whew! Even though I actually selected this challenge, I was kind of dreading it! But, it turned out much easier and better than I expected!

I’ve done ink Ombre cards before, but this time I used the die from Ornate Borders to give me my one color/tone variation!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Purple Posy cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The Ornate Borders floral die was cut from Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Purple Posy cardstocks, then adhered to a 4 x 4-1/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock with Monoadhesive Glue.
The tag from Ornate Frames die was cut from Whisper White cardstock and stamped with the greeting from Comfort & Hope stamp set with Gorgeous Grape Ink. A 1/8″ hole was punched on one end.
The Tricolor Ribbon was wrapped around the Whisper White and the tag added to the knot.
The Whisper White panel was added to a 4-1/4 x 4-1/2 piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock, then added to the front of the card.

CCMC618 Whiskey Business

Hello! It’s Thursday and time for Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! This week is a simple sketch…love how easy this card came together!

Stampin’ Up!’s Whiskey Business stamp set was first on my list to order from the new Annual Catalog. I have two boys that love their bourbon. And my neighbor has me enjoying a good Chocolate Bourbon on occasion! lol!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Sahara Sand cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 3-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock was randomly stamped with the whiskey bottle with Cinnamon Cider Ink.
It was added to a 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Bumblebee cardstock, then adhered to the front.
A 1/4 x 3-1/4 piece of Bumblebee cardstock was added on the front left.
The greeting from Whiskey Business was stamped with Cinnamon Cider Ink on a 7/8 x 2-1/4 piece of Whisper White, then popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Champagne Rhinestones were added on the front.
