IM68 – Daisy Delight

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday photo!   Love this pretty floral picture!  Mary and I were on the same wavelength for our cards, too!

Here’s what I came up with!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Balmy Blue cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • A 3-1/2 x 4-1/4 piece of Tranquil Textures DSP was place on the diagonal in the background.
    • Four daisies were punched with the Daisy Punch from Whisper White cardstock and layered two together.  They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The centers were punched from Tranquil Textures DSP with the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack flower and added to the centers.
    • Four leaves from Daisy Delight were stamped with Balmy Blue Ink on Whisper White and the centers stamped off with Mint Macaron Ink.  They were hand-cut and added under the flowers on the front of the card.
    • The greeting from Daisy Delight stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
    • Some Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots were added in the centers of the flowers for a little bling.

Hershey Easter Cross Favor

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

I saw a video from Briget (in German) who made these crosses and thought I’d do my own version for the Easter table!  I’m expecting 20 people here today for dinner.  Here’s the link to her video:

Each one holds one Hershey Nugget inside, wrapped in a 1 x 3 Gingham Gala Designer Paper…the colors were perfect for Easter!  The retired Petite Flower Punch was punched from Whisper White and the Blossom Builder Leaf from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.  The centers are some retired Enamel Dots I had sitting around.

The cross is made from two 1-1/4 x 8 pieces of cardstock, scored at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7, then folded and adhered together with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.

Pretty simple, but I love how they look!

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Brights color

Happy Saturday! It’s time for another Saturday Blog Hop! Our theme is our “Favorite Brights Color”.  I think you ALL know what my favorite Brights color is…I was SO excited when they brought back the in-color, POPPY PARADE!  BUT…I also have another favorite, Mango Melody…and I really couldn’t decided between the two.  So, I used both!…plus a few more accents from the Brights color family, too!.

This certainly is a BRIGHT card!  I love the hummingbird…I always have a few flitting around my hydrangea bushes in the summer!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Mango Melody cardstock.
  • A 2-1/2 x 5 piece of Neutrals 6×6 (Gray Granite) DSP was placed in the background.
  • The netting from Hummingbird Framelits was cut from Mango Melody and adhere in the background.
  • The hummingbird from Humming Along stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock and colored with Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends.  It was cut with the Hummingbird Framelits and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Humming Along was stamped with Memento Black on Whisper White cardstock and cut with the label in Hummingbird Framelits.
  • A trio of Rhinestone Jewels in different sizes were added to the background.

CCMC557 – Healing Hugs

Happy Thursday!  It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  It’s a fun color challenge this week.

I had Healing Hugs sitting on my desk for a get well card I made, so decided to use it for this week’s challenge!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Blueberry Bushel cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • At the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 1-3/4 x 4 piece of 2018-2020 In Color Designer Paper in Blueberry Bushel polka dot was added to the bottom.
  • The rose was stamped with Pineapple Punch Ink on scrap Whisper White and hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The leaves were stamped with Granny Apple Green Ink and hand-cut also, then placed under the rose.
  • The filler leaves were stamped with Blueberry Bushel Ink on Blueberry Bushel cardstock, then hand-cut and tucked under the flower and leaves.
  • Get Well Soon was stamped with Blueberry Bushel Ink in the upper right corner.

April 2019 – Greek Isles Achievers Blog Hop

Time for our monthly Greek Isles Achievers Blog Hop! The theme this month is New Catalog products.  Those that were at OnStage will have some sneak peeks, but I wasn’t able to attend.  I am using a stamp set and punch that WILL carryover to the new catalog, Butterfly Gala!  We waited forever for it, didn’t we?  You are here at my blog, Connie Babbert, and you can continue around to all the blog hop stops by clicking on the name under mine on the list at the bottom of this post.

BUTTERFLY GALA

I used a special fun fold on my card, too!  The front panel is narrower than the base and folds up!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 Night of Navy cardstock.
  • I cut a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Melon Mambo cardstock.
  • The Whisper White panel is cut 3 x 5-3/4, then scored at 1/2″.  The 1/2″ flap is placed behind the Melon Mambo layer and the entire layer adhered to the base Night of Navy cardstock.
  • A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Neutrals DSP (Night of Navy stripe) was added to the front of the Whisper White panel.
  • The greeting from Butterfly Gala was stamped with Night of Navy on Whisper White cardstock, then cut with the Stitched Labels Framelits (YES!  These are in the NEW catalog!)  It was placed on the front panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The butterflies from Butterfly Gala were stamped with Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight Inks and punched with the Butterfly Duet Punch.
  • The bodies of the butterflies were stamped with Night of Navy Ink.  They were popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots were added to the bodies of the butterflies for a little bling.
  • Inside, one of the extra little butterflies was added.  It is hidden by the flap on front.

IM67 – Flowering Desert

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday photo! I love the rich tones in this photo…and was inspired in SO many different ways!  I finally decided that a desert sunset would look like this, so went with the stamp set, Flowering Desert.

Here’s what I came up with…very simple!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Bermuda Bay cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
    • A 1 x 5-1/4 strip of Poppy Parade Brights 6×6 DSP was added to the left side of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Poppy Parade cardstock.
    • The 3 x 4-1/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock was watercolored with Poppy Parade and Crumb Cake Inks and an AquaPainter.
    • The cactus from Flowering Desert stamp set was stamped with Bermuda Bay Ink on top.
    • Hi there from Flowering Desert stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
    • The Whisper White panel was layered on a 3-1/4 x 4-1/2 piece of Basic Black cardstock and it was popped up on the front of the base card.
    • A flower was punched from Poppy Parade cardstock using the Bitty Blooms Punch and a large Rhinestone Jewel placed in the center.

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Subtles Color

Happy Saturday! It’s time for another Saturday Blog Hop! Our theme is our “Favorite Subtles Color”. I knew right away what color I would use…Soft Seafoam!  And that color makes me think of baby cards!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 7-1/2 (yes!  Shorter size!), scored at 4-1/4 and folded with the short side on the front.
  • A1-1/4 x 5-1/2 strip of Twinkle Twinkle DSP was added to the inside flap on the right side so it shows on the front.
  • The shorter flap on front was embossed with the Dot to Dot Embossing Folder.
  • The elephants and congratulations in Little Elephants stamp set were stamped with Night of Navy on Whisper White, the hearts with Real Red.
  • They were cut with the Scallop Layering Oval Framelits.  It was layered on the large Layering Oval cut from Night of Navy and adhered to the front flap with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CCMC556 – Country Home

Another Thursday has rolled around and it is time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  This time it is a fun sketch challenge!

I decided to use a set from the Annual Catalog, Country Road, for my card:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Early Espresso cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was embossed with the Subtles Embossing Folder and then sponged around the edges for a distressed look.
  • The 2-1/2 x 3-3/4 piece of Wood Textures Designer Paper was added on the front with the Flax Ribbon cut into two small pieces and tucked on each side under the DSP.
  • The Whisper White was stamped with the branch image and Crushed Curry Ink, then cut with the Layering Circle and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The horse was stamped on Whisper White with Early Espresso ink, then hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Happy Birthday from Country Road was stamped in the background with Early Espresso Ink.

That’s it!  Pretty simple, but I really like how it turned out.  This will be my dad’s birthday card, I’m sure, although that isn’t until June!  Make sure to check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did this week with the sketch over on Create with Connie and Mary!
