IM147 – Banner Year

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  To me, this photo is both spooky (bats) and fun (colors!)  Quite the combination!

 

Banner Year

The bats in Stampin’ Up!’s Banner Year are actually kind of cute, especially when paired with these bright colors!  To represent the “balloons” in the inspiration photo, I used the image in Life is Beautiful stamp set!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pumpkin Pie cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White was stamped with the dotted image in Life is Beautiful stamp set with Bermuda Bay, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight Inks on the top and the bottom.
    • It was embossed with the Cobwebs Embossing Folder and added to the base card.
    • The greeting from Banner Year was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Pumpkin Pie and punched with the Timeless Label Punch, then popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The bats from Banner Year were stamped six times with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White and hand cut, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Some Artistry Blooms Sequins were added to the background for a little bling!

Saturday Blog Hop – Spooky Halloween

Happy Saturday! This week our CCM Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Spooky Halloween”!  With spiders, bats and all kinds of spooky stamps, Stampin’ Up! has Halloween covered!  I choose Hallows Night Magic again for my card…the spiders in this set are CREEPY real!  I made this for one of my swap groups earlier and realized that I hadn’t shown it yet!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Black cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Blackberry Bliss is embossed with the Cobwebs Embossing Folder, then added to the front.
  • 2-1/4 x 4-1/2 piece of Magic in this Night Designer Paper was cut with a banner end, then added to the front.
  • A 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 piece of Basic Black cardstock was also cut with a banner end and adhered under the DSP.
  • The label image from Hallows Night Magic is stamped with Memento Black Ink an colored with Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  It was cut with the Halloween Magic Dies, then added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The spider from Hallows Night Magic is stamped with Memento Black Ink on Gray Granite cardstock, colored with the Rich Razzleberry Blends and cut with the Halloween Magic Dies.  It is added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • An Iridescent Pearl was added to the body.

INSIDE:

  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock was stamped with the greeting and spider from Hallows Night Magic in Memento Black Ink. The spider was colored with Rich Razzleberry Blends.
  • A 1 x 4 piece of Magic In This Night Designer Paper was added to the inside bottom.

CCMC635 – Snow Wonder

Another Thursday has rolled around, so it is time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  It’s another fun sketch…I love them.  They make my starting process SO much easier!

Have you noticed that I’m flipping back and forth between seasons…fall/Halloween and winter/Christmas!  This week is winter’s time again!  I used the beautiful snowman in Snow Wonder for my card.  This is the stamp set I picked for my Christmas cards this year!  I love the watercolor look to the Snowflake Splendor Designer Paper.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Balmy Blue cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White was added on top.
  • The 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Snowflake Splendor Designer Paper had a 1/2 x 3-3/4 strip of Basic Black cardstock added under the left side, then was added to the edge of the right side.
  • The snowman from Snow Wonder stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink, then colored with Light Balmy Blue, Dark Real Red and Light Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends, with Pumpkin Pie for his nose and Bronze for his arms.  He was cut with the Snow Time Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The snow was covered with Wink of Stella for some sparkle.
  • Happy Christmas was stamped with Memento Black Ink on the smallest label from Snow Time Dies, then added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Snowflake Adhesive Backed Embellishments were added to the label and background DSP.

Halloween Gnome for the Holidays

Hard to believe it is almost the end of October!  I realized that I had several Halloween cards made that I hadn’t shared yet…so I need to get blogging!  lol!  Here’s one that I thought turned out really cut using the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Gray Granite cardstock with the front embossed with the Cobwebs Embossing Folder.
  • A 1-1/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Plaid Tidings Designer Paper is added across the front (I LOVE all the variety of colors and plaids in this pack!)
  • The lattice piece and bats were cut from Basic Black cardstock with the Halloween Magic Dies, then added to the front.
  • The smaller label was cut from Whisper White cardstock with the Halloween Magic Dies, then stamped with the greeting from Banner Year in Memento Black Ink across the top.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The gnomes were stamped with Basic Black Ink on Whisper White, then colored with Granny Apple Green Combo, Basic Black Combo, Gray Granite Combo Stampin’ Blends.  They were hand-cut and added to the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Rhinestones were placed in the background for a little bling!

Isn’t that a fun Halloween card using a “Christmas” set?  Speaking that that…I need to get my cards in the mail to the grandkids!  Halloween is next week!  Yikes!

Toy Story Woody

My youngest grandson turned 4 in September and had a Toy Story party!  I set out to recreate Woody from Toy Story.  Luckily I had kept an old Stampin’ Up! stamp set and die set called YeeHaw that worked perfectly, along with a couple retired punches.

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Balmy Blue cardstock, embossed with the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder.
  • A 1-3/4 x 4 piece of retired Designer Paper was added to the front.
  • The rope from YeeHaw was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Crumb Cake and cut with the dies.
  • The hat from YeeHaw was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Cajun Craze and cut with the dies.
  • Howdy from YeeHaw was stamped with Real Red on Whisper White cardstock and cut with the dies.
  • The star circle from YeeHaw was stamped with Crushed Curry Ink on Whisper White cardstock and colored with Real Red Marker, then punched with the 1″ Circle Punch.
  • Woody’s face is the Small Oval Punch from Blushing Bride, eyes are 1/4″ and 1/8″ Circles from Whisper White and Basic Black, highlighted with a White Gel Pen.  Nose is 1/8″ punch from Blushing Bride.  Mouth is half the 1/4″ circle punch from Cajun Craze.  Hair was free cut from Crushed Curry and scarf from Real Red.
  • Vest is the owl punch from Whisper White and colored with Basic Black cow spots.
  • Everything was put together, then placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Inside, the greetings and stars from YeeHaw were stamped with Real Red, Early Espresso and Crushed Curry.

Isn’t that fun?  He LOVED it and I really enjoyed making it!  SO glad I kept that YeeHaw set!

Control Freaks Oct 2020

Hi! Welcome to the monthly Tour de Freaks, brought to you by the Control Freak Swappers! The theme this month is “Gratitude”!  I know I’ve been incredibly blessed throughout my life, so I am filled with gratitude and this theme is quite special to me.  You’ve probably just come from the awesome Melissa Davies!  I just love her work!  Just click on the link below to take you around the entire blog hop for some GREAT inspiration!

BANNER YEAR STITCHED LEAVES

The Stitched Leaves Dies are one of the most gorgeous leaf set dies I’ve ever seen.  I love this stitching both around and inside the leaves.  It is just perfect for fall!  I’ve combined it with the fun Banner Year stamp set!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Early Espresso cardstock, scored at 5-1/2  and folded.
    • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was embossed with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder and added on top.
    • A 3 x 4 piece of the Gilded Autumn Designer Paper was added across the front.
    • A 1/2 x 4 piece of the striped Gilded Autumn Designer Paper was added below.
    • The large leaf was cut from a 3 x 3 piece of Mint Macaron cardstock (I had a bunch of these left over from a class!) and added to the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Two 1/2 x 1-1/2 piece of Early Espresso were added behind the Mint Macaron for some contrast.
    • With a Grateful Heart from Banner Year stamp set was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on 5/8 x 2-1/2 piece of Very Vanilla and the end trimmed at an angle.  It was added on top.
    • The small heart leaf from Stitched Leaves was cut from Crumb Cake cardstock, and the long leaf from Cajun Craze cardstock.  They were added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Some Linen Thread was folded in half and a bow tied, then added to the stems with a Mini Glue Dot.
    • A trio of Champagne Rhinestones were added to the background.

 

STITCHED LEAVES LITTLE TREAT BOX

I also broke in my new Little Treats Box Die!  Not sure WHY I waited so long to get this one.  It is SO fun and a small candy bar fits in it perfectly!

 

  • The box was cut from 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and assembled.
  • A 2-1/4 x 6 piece of striped Gilded Autumn DSP was added around the box.
  • The scallop circle was cut with the Little Treats Die from Early Espresso and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimenisonals.
  • The heart leaf was cut from Cajun Craze cardstock and the long leaf from Gilded Autumn DSP, then added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Banner Year was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on a 5/8 x 2-1/2 piece of Very Vanilla and the end cut at an angle.
  • A trio of Champagne Rhinestones were added to the background.
  • Some Mint Macaron Basket Weave Ribbon was added thru the top hole and tied with some Linen Thread in a bow to keep it closed.

Maui Achievers Blog Hop – October 2020

Our Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip Achievers get together each month for a Blog Hop! I’m blessed with great customers and downline who helped me achieve this year’s (AND the extended!) Maui trip that will be held in May 2021 (hopefully!)  Those that earned both last year and this year will have extended time in Maui to make up for this year’s being cancelled due to Covid-19.  October’s blog hop theme is ANYTHING CURRENT!

POINSETTIA PETALS

This Poinsettia Petals Bundle is by far one of my favorite sets in the entire August-December Mini Catalog.  The embossing detail on the dies is gorgeous, but I love that there is a stamp image cutout poinsettia, too!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock is embossed with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder.
  • A 2-1/4 x 4 piece of Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper is added to the front.
  • The poinsettia from Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set is stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and colored with the Real Red Combo, Poppy Parade Combo and Light Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends.  It was cut with the Poinsettia Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of small leaves were cut from the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper with the small leaf Poinsettia Die.  They were added under the poinsettia flower.
  • A trio of Gold Metallic Pearls were added to the center of the poinsettia.
  • Warm Wishes greeting from Poinsettia Petals stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 5/8 x 2-1/2 piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and the end cut at an angle.  It was adhered to the front.

I love all the texture on this card and this would be a fairly easy card to duplicate for mass production of Christmas cards since the coloring is the most time consuming part!

IM146 – Snowflake Wishes

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  Isn’t this a wonderful snowflake cake? I’d love to get one like this some day!  Gorgeous on a holiday table!

 

Snowflake Wishes

This cake is so pretty, I’d almost hate to cut into it!  Of course, Snowflake Wishes was the perfect set to use for my card!

 

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Coastal Cabana cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of In Good Taste Designer Paper was added on top.  (I love the texture in this gray background!)
    • I cut three sets of the three smaller snowflakes in the So Many Snowflakes Dies from Coastal Cabana, Highland Heather and Whisper White cardstsocks.
    • The largest Stitched Shape Square was cut from Whisper White cardstock and stamped with the Snowflake Wishes greeting in Highland Heather Ink and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The snowflakes were adhered randomly along the left size.
    • Several blue Adhesive Sequins were added to the centers and next to the greeting for so much sparkle!
