Born to Shine

My niece commissioned me to do two Christmas cards for her sons’ dance teachers!  Gave me a chance to use my Born to Shine stamp set that had been sitting unloved in my stamp drawer!  Both use some designer paper from the Holiday catalog.  AND the Clearance Rack has been updated today and the Stylish Scroll embossing folder is on the CLEARANCE RACK if you didn’t grab it before!

Stampin’ Details:

  • Base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • On top is 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Bermuda Bay cardstock, embossed with the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder.
  • A 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Let it Snow Designer Paper was added to the bottom with a 1/2 x 4 strip of Real Red cardstock added across the front to hide the seam.
  • The Whisper White cardstock is cut with the Nested Label Die and stamped with the Born to Shine dancer in Memento Black Ink, the colored with Pool Party, Real Red, Ivory and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Merry Christmas was stamped with Real Red and hand-cut, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of red Rhinestones were added on front.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Seaside Spray cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White has a 3 x 5-1/4 piece of Feels Like Frost Designer Paper added towards the left side.
  • The Whisper White is cut with the Nested Label Die and stamped with the Born to Shine dancer in Memento Black Ink, then colored with the Seaside Spray, Ivory, So Saffron and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Seaside Spray and cut with the Nested Label Dies.
  • Some Silver thread was wrapped in circles and added behind the greeting label, then on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Rhinestones were added to the background.

I was happy she loved them and said the dance teachers loved them, too!  Sorry, I forgot to get a closeup of the other card!

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week’s inspiration is a beautiful necklace!  Isn’t that stunning?

They looked like feathers or leaves to me, so I went with feathers!  I followed the layout of a “circle”, too!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Garden Green cardstock and scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
    • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock is embossed with the Coastal Weave embossing folder and added to the base.
    • The embossed feather from the coordinating Nature’s Thoughts Dies was cut twice from Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green and Soft Sea Foam cardstocks.
    • The small feather in Positive Thoughts stamp set was stamped once with Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green and Soft Sea Foam Inks on Whisper White cardstock, then cut with the feather outline die in Nature’s Thoughts Dies.
    • All the feathers were arranged in a circular shape on the front of the base card.
    • The greeting from Positive Thoughts was stamped with Garden Green Ink on Whisper White cardstock and punched with the Label Me Fancy Punch.
    • It was adhered to another Label Me Fancy punched from Soft Suede cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The sprig die image was cut three times from Sparkle Glimmer Paper and tucked under the label on top of the feathers.
    • A couple Gold Glimmer Dots were added to each side of the label punch.

CCMC607 Ornate Thanks

Happy Thursday!  Time for a cheerful color combination over on Create with Connie and Mary today!  I knew right away that I wanted to do flowers and the awesome frame in the Ornate Layers Dies.  But…it is SO funny…you have to see Mary’s card today!  Talk about being on the same wavelength!

Here’s my card using the greeting in Ornate Thanks…that is the only stamping!  The rest are the flowers and frame from Ornate Layers Dies!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer o Whisper White is embossed with the Ornate Floral Embossing Folder.
  • The frame was cut from Garden Green cardstock with the Ornate Layers Die.
  • A 1 x 2-3/8 piece of Whisper White was stamped with Thanks from Ornate Thanks stamp set and added to the front.
  • The flowers were cut from Poppy Parade and Crushed Curry cardstock with the Ornate Layers Dies, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Three Gilded Gems were added to three of the flowers.
  • A bow was tied from the Garden Green Twine in Country Club Twine Pack, and added to the front with Mini Glue Dot.

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week’s inspiration is a beautiful watercolor tulip print!

I didn’t purchase the Timeless Tulips stamp set, but my friend did get the Tulip Builder Punch, so I borrowed hers to punch a few of the tulip shapes to make my card!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock and scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
    • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party cardstock is embossed with the Parisian Flourish embossing folder.
    • The Whisper White panel was cut with the Ornate Layers Die and added to the front.
    • The tulips were punched from Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Melon Mambo and Lovely Lipstick cardstock and the stems and leaves from Granny Apple Green cardstock.  They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Celebrate from Itty Bitty Birthdays was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and punched with the Classic Label Punch and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The Nobel Peacock Rhinestones were added to the tulips for a little bling!

Keep Stamping Challenge #1 – Timeless Tropical

One of the demo Facebook pages I belong to issued an ongoing weekly challenge to “Keep Stamping”!  This week is a lovely color combination.  Use one, two or ALL the colors featured!  I thought I’d play along and you can, too!

I love this recent tropical set, Timeless Tropical in the Occasions Catalog…and it will be especially nice if I actually get to use it for my upcoming Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip to Maui!  Who knows if we will still be able to go in July!  But, this card was pretty easy to put together, especially since I had most of the “starts” sitting on my desk!  The flower was done, the tag was done…all I did was stamp a couple leaves, tie the ribbon on the tag and make the base card from one of the retiring In Colors, Grapefruit Grove!  Nice!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Grapefruit Grove cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock was embossed with the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder.
  • The flower from Timeless Tropical stamp set was stamped with Versamark on Shimmer White cardstock, then watercolored with Terracotta Tile, Mango Melody and Grapefruit Grove Reinkers and the AquaPainter.
  • The flower was cut with the In the Tropics Dies.  The center of the flower was cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock with the die.
  • Two leaves from Timeless Tropical stamp set were stamped with Old Olive on the Old Olive print in the Tropical Oasis Designer Paper, then cut with the Dies.
  • The tag was cut from Grapefruit Grove cardstock with the Bonanza Dies and tied with Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon.  The greeting from Timeless Tropical was stamped with Memento Black Ink at the top of the tag.
  • The tag was added to the front and the flower/leaves added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A Coastal Cabana Glitter Enamel Dot was added to the center of the flower for a little bling!

CCMC606 – Clubhouse

Another Thursday has rolled around!  Our Ohio weather is finally getting warm, but golfers aren’t able to golf yet because of the “shelter in place” order we still have going on!  But, we have a fun sketch challenge for you to try this week on Create with Connie and Mary!

I decided to “tee-up” Stampin’ Up!’s Clubhouse for my card…I purchased this bundle because both of my boys love to play!  My youngest is actually quite good…he has played since high school!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Mint Macaron, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Country Club Designer Paper was added towards the right on the front.
  • The 2-1/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Garden Green cardstock was embossed with the Absolutely Argyle Embossing Folder and added to the front on an angle.
  • A 2″ circle of Mint Macaron cardstock was added on top.
  • The banner from Golf Club Dies was cut from Poppy Parade cardstock and added on the circle.
  • The golf ball/tee from Clubhouse was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, colored with Light Smoky Late, Light Poppy Parade and Light Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends, then cut with the Golf Club Dies and added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Greatest Guy from Clubhouse stamp set was stamped with Garden Green Ink, cut with the Golf Club Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week’s inspiration is some yummy looking bee and flower cookies!

So, Stampin’ Up!’s Honey Bee Bundle is perfect for this challenge!  And, don’t you LOVE that pop of Coastal Cabana in the flower centers?

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Daffodil Delight cardstock and scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
    • On top is 4 x 5-1/4 Coastal Cabana Cardstock layer.
    • The 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Whisper White cardstock has a 2 x 3-7/8 piece of floral Golden Honey DSP was added on the left side, with a 1/2 x 3-7/8 piece of striped Golden Honey DSP to hide the seam.
    • The flowers were colored with Light & Dark Daffodil Delight, Light & Dark Mango Melody, and Light & Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends.
    • The bee hive was stamped with Daffodil Delight Ink on Whisper White cardstock, then cut with the Detailed Bees Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Three bees were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock, and also cut with the Detailed Bees Die, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The flower was punched from Flirty Flamingo cardstock with the Small Bloom Punch (free SAB product!)
    • The greeting from Honey Bee was stamped with Coastal Cabana Ink on Whisper White, trimmed and added to the bee hive.
    • Finally, the Glitter Enamel Dots were added to the center of the flowers.

Saturday Blog Hop – Last Chance SAB

Happy Saturday! It’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop and our theme this week is Last Chance Sale-a-Bration.  Can you believe there is only a few more days to take advantage of the BEST sale of the year?

THOUGHTFUL BLOOMS

I think this Thoughtful Blooms stamp set was the first SAB I picked and I have used it the most!  I love the Stone Embossing Folder in the background that is also a FREE SAB item!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was embossed with the Stone (FREE SAB) Embossing Folder.
  • A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Pleased as Punch DSP was added across the front with a 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Granny Apple Green cardstock under it.
  • The Stitched So Sweetly label was cut with the Dies from Whisper White cardstock, and the lattice image from Thoughtful Blooms was stamped in the center with Coastal Cabana Ink.  Congratulations was stamped with Memento Black Ink towards the bottom.
  • The flowers were stamped with Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Inks on Whisper White cardstock and punched with the Blooms Punch (FREE SAB).  Some Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots were placed in the centers and they were popped up with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The leaves were stamped with Granny Apple Green and hand-cut, then tucked around the flowers.
