Saturday Blog Hop – Sweet Summertime

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Sweet Summertime”.  What does summertime mean to me?  Well, one thing is that I seem to eat a LOT more ice cream in the summer and Stampin’ Up!’s Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and punch worked great for my card!  This one has sort of a different “fun fold”, too!

SWEET ICE CREAM

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.  The front was them cut at an angle from bottom right to approx. 1-1/4″ from top left.  (It worked out perfectly with this designer paper!)
  • Happy Birthday from Sweet Ice Cream was stamped diagonally along the cut line with Early Espresso Ink.
  • Using the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch, the cone was punched from Cinnamon Cider, the ice cream scoops from Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade cardstocks.  The cone was stamped with the cross-hatch in Cinnamon Cider Ink, the sprinkles in Early Espresso on the ice cream scoops.  They were layered together on the front portion of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 piece of the stripe from Pattern Party Designer Paper (Host Only selection) was added to the inside of the base card.
  • A 3/4 x 4 piece of Basic White was stamped with the greeting from Sweet Ice Cream in Early Espresso and the sprinkles with Flirty Flamingo Ink, then added inside above the cut line on the front.
  • A trio of In Color Jewels were added in the background for a little sparkle!

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This month we are “casing the catalog”.  Here’s the second in the series…it has a FUN layout, but you could use the colors, or the baby theme!

 

SWEET FAREWELL

This was a set that I didn’t think I needed, even though I thought it was super cute!  But, I was assigned it for a tutorial challenge so went ahead and purchased it.  GLAD I did!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Granny Apple Green cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pattern Party Designer Paper (Host only) was added on top.
  • Three rectangles of Pool Party were added on top.
  • The images were stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Light Night of Navy, Light Smoky Slate, Granny Apple Green Combo and So Saffron Combo Stampin’ Blends.  They were hand-cut and added to the rectangles with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • “will I fit into your luggage” was stamped directly on the rectangle with Night of Navy Ink.
  • Bon Voyage was stamped on 1/2 x 2 piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock and the end but on an angle.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Holiday Rhinestones in three colors were added to the images for a little bling.

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have a pretty tablescape using USA’s patriotic colors!  Those of you who get the 4th of July holiday off work today…I hope you are enjoying your long weekend!

 

IN BLOOM BUNDLE

The In Bloom Bundle remains one of my all time favorite floral sets….mainly because of all those stitched flowers and leaves dies!  So happy that it remains in the catalog for another year!  I grabbed it to make my bouquet, along with the Mason Jar Punch for my vase!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pacific Point cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was embossed with the Tasteful Textures Embossing Folder.
    • A 1-1/4 x 4 piece of In Good Taste Designer Paper was added to the bottom for the “table”.
    • The mason jar was punched from Pacific Point cardstock and embossed with the Dots Embossing Folder, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Using the Pierced Blooms Dies, the larger flowers were cut from Basic White, the smaller flowers from Real Red, the leaf clusters from Pear Pizzazz, and the smaller leaves from Mossy Meadow cardstocks.  All were assembled and added to the vase with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The bow was made from doubled Linen Thread tied in a bow and added with a Mini Glue Dot.
    • The greeting from In Bloom stamp set was stamped with Real Red Ink on Basic White, then punched with the Double Oval Punch.
    • Some yellow Holiday Rhinestones were added to the center of the larger flowers and Basic Rhinestones were added to the smaller flowers.

CCMC671 – Plentiful Plants

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  This month is “Case the Catalog” and we have this fun card for you to case!  Well, actually this isn’t a card…it is one of the little Ombre bags, but you can use the colors, the layout…or the stamp set/dies!  Use it as inspiration to create your own card!

PLENTIFUL PLANTS BUNDLE

I decided to follow the sketch on my card and used the Plentiful Plants Bundle.  I do love the mix and match capabilities of this set!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Evening Evergreen was embossed with the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder and added to the front.
  • A 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Bloom Where You Are Planted DSP was added at a angle, then the reverse brick side was cut to 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 and added to the front.
  • A 1/4 x 4 strip of Cherry Cobbler was added across the top.
  • The pot from Plentiful Plants was stamped with Cinnamon Cider Ink on Basic White, the leaves with Evening Evergreen Ink, the berries from Cherry Cobbler Ink and all cut with the Perfect Plants Dies.  Another set of leaves were cut with the dies from Soft Succulent cardstock.  All were assembled on the brick DSP pattern with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A little note stamp was partially inked with Cherry Cobbler Ink and stamped on a 1/2 x 2 strip of Gray Granite cardstock, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of red Holiday Rhinestones were added to the background.

IM182 – Measure of Love

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have a pretty tablescape!

 

MEASURE OF LOVE

I love the bright colors in this tablescape, so wanted to recreate them on my card.  I just got the Measure of Love stamp set and thought it would be perfect to use along with the Pattern Party Designer Paper (Host only selection)!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was embossed with the Checks Embossing Folder.
    • A 1-1/2 x 5 piece of floral Pattern Party DSP was added to the right side, with a 1 x 4 piece of polka dot in the same package placed across the bottom.
    • The scale was stamped with Bermuda Bay Ink and the arm with Real Red Ink.  It was colored with Light Pool Party and Light Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends.  The bowl was stamped with Crushed Curry Ink, the hearts and cherries with Real Red Ink, the stems with Granny Apple Green Ink on Basic White cardstock.  It was hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Love you More from the same stamp set was stamped with Real Red Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock, then punched with the Double Oval Punch and layered on the scallop oval punched from Bermuda Bay cardstock.  It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • A trio of Holiday Rhinestones were added to the background for a little bling.

Saturday Blog Hop – Pastel Chalk Techniques

This week’s blog hop theme is Pastel Chalk Techniques (or watercolor pencils if they didn’t have the pastels yet!)  I can’t wait to see some ideas for the new Soft Pastels Assortment that Stampin’ Up! has in the catalog.  I played around for quite a while…so fun!  I finally decided to use this vibrant background, made with the pastels, for today’s blog hop card.

BEAUTY OF FRIENDSHIP

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Gray, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was colored with layers of Soft Pastels Assortment.  I first roughed up the end a little (it has sort of a film on it), then rubbed quite firmly directly onto the cardstock with the end.  I used my fingers to blend the colors together…using a different finger for each color so they don’t muddy!  (I never said it wasn’t messy!  lol!)
  • I set the chalks with a Fixative Spray so they didn’t rub off.
  • The tree and bird from Beautiful Trees Dies were cut from Basic Black cardstock, then added to the front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The ground is a 1 x 4 piece of Basic Black torn along one edge and added to the bottom.
  • The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock, then cut with the Beautiful Trees Die and added with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Elegant Faceted Gems were added to the background.

CCMC670 – Artistically Inked

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  Here’s another sketch challenge for you to try!

ARTISTICALLY INKED BUNDLE

I knew I wanted some designer paper in the background…but which one to use?  I finally pulled out the Expressions in Ink Designer Paper for my card and the Artistically Inked Bundle!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pale Papaya cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 2-3/4 x 5 piece of Expressions in Ink DSP to the background.
  • A 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Basic White was added on top.
  • A 3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of the green print in Expressions in Ink DSP was added across the top with a 1/2 x 3-1/4 gold metallic striped DSP on top.
  • The greeting was stamped with Cajun Craze Ink on 1/2 x 3 piece of Basic White and added to the strips with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The large flower was inked with Pale Papaya and sponged with Cajun Craze along the edges TWICE on Basic White c/s.  The inside flower inked the same way.  The center inked with stamped off Cajun Craze Ink and dots with full strength Cajun Craze Ink.  The leaves with Pear Pizzazz Ink with sponged on Old Olive Ink.  All were cut with the dies and assembled on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I bent up the edges of the flower and leaves for some more dimension.

June 2021 Maui Achievers Blog Hop

Our Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip Achievers get together each month for a Blog Hop! I’m blessed with great customers and downline who helped me achieve both Maui trips that were held in May 2021!  Stampin’ Up! thoroughly spoiled us…we had an AWESOME time!  Our theme this month is ANYTHING CURRENT!

SWEET FAREWELL STAMP SET

I just recently ordered this stamp set, Sweet Farewell, and think it is SO cute!  It is fun to use a stamp set that I normally wouldn’t buy and then realize that I actually love it!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Coastal Cabana cardstock was added to the front.
  • On top, the 2-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Pattern Party Designer Paper was added to the bottom.  (This is a HOST only DSP…and there are a TON of sheets in it!)
  • The reverse side had the black polka dot, so I used a 1/2 x 5-1/4 across the top of the DSP to hide the seam.
  • The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
  • I cut the largest Tailor Made Tag down by cutting it shorter with the same die.  The camera was stamped with Memento Black and colored with Light & Dark Gray Granite and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.  I added the tag to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon was tied in a bow and added to the tag with Mini Glue Dots.
  • It needed just a little something, so I used the Dark Gray Granite Blends and tapped it again my ruler to get speckles of ink across the front of the card.
  • Finally, a pink In Color Jewel was added to the camera for a little bling.
