IM181 – Pansy Patch

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have a pretty vintage floral print!

 

PANSY PATCH BUNDLE

Of course…what else would I use uty the Pansy Patch Bundle when inspired by this print?  I do love the colors…very unusual!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
    • Ink a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Window Sheet with Soft Sea Foam ink pad, then use spritzers to spritz with water.  Place a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock on top and transfer the ink.  Trim to 3-3/4 x 5 and add to base card when dry.
    • Cut one full pansy with Pansy Dies from Basic White and one from Pool Party cardstock with the trim pieces cut from Coastal Cabana cardstock.  Cut pansy bud from Pool Party c/s and detail from Basic White c/s.  Sponge the inside of the Basic White with Soft Sea Foam Ink and the Pool Party one with Coastal Cabana Ink.  Assemble.
    • Cut the centers from Blackberry Bliss cardstock with the Dies and add to center of pansies.
    • Cut the base leaves and stem from Mossy Meadow and the detail from Old Olive cardstock.  Assemble.
    • Slightly blend the flowers and leaves and place on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • On a 3/4 x 2-1/2 piece of Basic White cardstock, stamp Happy Birthday from Pansy Patch stamp set with Mossy Meadow Ink and trim flag end.  Add to front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Add Gold Gilded Gems to centers.

Saturday Blog Hop – Borders or Tags

This week’s blog hop theme is Borders or Tags!  Stampin’ Up! has a couple great new die sets….Border Basics and Tailor Made Tags that really enhance card making!  I wanted to use the tags in a little different way…can you spot the THREE tags on here?  I pulled out my Sweet as a Peach Bundle again…mostly because I love this Designer Paper!

SWEET AS A PEACH BUNDLE

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pale Papaya cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded to form the base card.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of You’re A Peach Designer Paper was added to the base.
  • Two of the largest scalloped edge tags were cut from Old Olive cardstock with the Tailored Made Tags Dies, then embossed with the Checks Embossing Folder.  They were added to the front, and the extra ends cut off the side.
  • Some Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon was fed thru the holes and tied in a bow (after the tag was added).
  • The smallest flat end tag was cut from Basic White cardstock and the reinforcer from Calypso Coral cardstock.  It was adhered together and then stamped with the Have a Peach Day greeting in Memento Black Ink.
  • The trio of peaches were inked with Pale Papaya Ink and sponged with Calypso Coral In on the edge, then cut with the Peach Dies.  The little leaves were cut from Pear Pizzazz with the double leaf.  One peach was added to the end of the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Genial Gems was added in the background for a little bling!

CCMC669 – Sweet as a Peach

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  It’s a pretty color combination that is quite popular in Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Papers.

SWEET AS A PEACH

I decided to pull out my Sweet as a Peach Bundle since the colors were so soft!  I paired it with the Pansy Petals DSP.  I love that gingham and I had these squares already cut and left over!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Cinnamon Cider cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • On top the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Mint Macaron was embossed with the Bark Embossing Folder.
  • Two 2 x 2 gingham squares from Pansy Petals DSP were added to the left side.
  • A 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Cinnamon Cider was added on top.
  • The Stitched So Sweetly scallop rectangle was cut from Basic White with the Die.  It was stamped with the Sweet as a Peach greeting in Cinnamon Cider Ink.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The peaches and flowers were inked with Pale Papaya (and a little Calypso Coral for a two-tone look) and stamped on scrap Basic White.  The leaves were stamped with Mint Macaron.  All were cut with the Peach Dies.  They were added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Champagne Rhinestones were added to the peaches and center of the flower.

IM180 – Artistically Inked

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have a colorful print!

ARTISTICALLY INKED BUNDLE

Sometimes I struggle on where to go with an inspiration piece.  I looked thru all my dies and saw this leaf branch in the Artistic Dies and thought I could make it work with these colors!  It ended up being pretty easy to do!

 

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Polished Pink cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black cardstock.
    • Two of the leaf branches from Artistic Dies were cut from Basic White cardstock, then colored with Sponge Daubers and Polished Pink, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green and Coastal Cabana Ink Pads.  They were adhered to the Basic Black layer.
    • The 1 x 4 piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock was stamped with the Happy Birthday greeting from Artistically Inked stamp set in Memento Black Ink.
    • A 1/2 x 4 piece of Polished Pink cardstock was layered under the greeting, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Two In Color Jewels were added on the sides of the greeting.

Pretty cool how this turned out!  The colors really POP off the black background!  And I think it is a pretty neat representation of the inspiration piece!  OK…check out what Mary did with the Inspiration Monday Challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Saturday Blog Hop – Glitz and Glam

This week’s blog hop theme is Glitz and Glam!  Stampin’ Up! has SO many wonderful products that sparkle and shine…this should be an easy one for everyone!  I chose to feature the Simply Elegant Designer Paper on my card, along with the Penned Flowers Dies!  Love the copper, gold and silver metallics in this DSP!

HAND-PENNED PETALS BUNDLE

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Black, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Cinnamon Cider cardstock was added to the front.
  • A 2-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Simply Elegant DSP was added to the left side and a 3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of the opposite black & white print was cut with the scallop edge die in the Penned Flowers Dies.
  • The Tailored Made Tag was cut from Basic Black with the Die, then tied some Simply Elegant Silver Trim in a bow (SOOOO happy they have gold and silver trim back in the catalog!)  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The individual flowers from Penned Flowers dies were cut from Copper Foil and the leaves from Silver Foil.  They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Elegant Gems were added to the center of the flowers.
  • The greeting from Hand-Penned Petals was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 3/4 x 2-1/2 piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock and cut the end at an angle.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CCMC668 – Plentiful Plants

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This is a fun and different sketch challenge this week!

PLENTIFUL PLANTS

I had this Plentiful Plants bundle sitting on my desk and an idea for this sketch just popped right into my head using it!  Took about 5 minutes to cut and put it together!  LOVE it!  Hardly any stamping…just used the DSP!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Evening Evergreen, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Grey Granite is added on top.
  • Two patterns of Bloom Where You Are Planted DSP were cut 1-3/4 x 3-1/2 and added overlapping on the front.
  • A 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Basic White was added to the right side.
  • The plant and container were hand-cut from the DSP (I love this sheet of plant images!) and added to the Basic White piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A 1/2 x 3 piece of Cinnamon Cider was added across the top.
  • The greeting was stamped on scrap Basic White cardstock with Evening Evergreen Ink and punched with the Double Oval Punch.  It was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A 6″ length of Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the plant with a Mini Glue Dot.

IM179 – What’s Cookin’

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have this fun kitchen towel for our inspiration.  The print reminded me of Stampin’ Up!’s What’s Cookin’ stamp set and dies!

WHAT’S COOKIN’ BUNDLE

Aren’t these fun colors for a kitchen…kind of retro looking!  I just had to use the new What’s Cookin’ Bundle on my card today.

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pacific Point cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • On top is a 4 x 5-1/ layer of Basic White cardstock.
    • A 2-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Just Jade In Color 6×6 Designer Paper was added down the middle.
    • A Layering Circle was cut from Basic White cardstock and layered on a scallop Layering Circle of Pacific Point cardstock, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • On scrap Basic White cardstock, the bowl was stamped with Pacific Point Ink, the measuring cups with Just Jude Ink and the rolling pin with Balmy Blue Ink, then cut with the Cookin’ Dies and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The whisk was cut with the Dies from Basic Gray cardstock.
    • The greeting was stamped on a 1/2 x 2 piece of Just Jade cardstock and the end cut at an angle.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • A trio of Holiday Rhinestones (blue) were added to the background.
    • Some Gold Cord was tie in a bow around the handle of the whisk.

Saturday Blog Hop – Textures and Ribbon

This week’s blog hop theme is Textures and Ribbon!  We can use embossing folders, embossing paste, sponging or anything that provides texture on your project!  I’ve used a variety of different techniques on my card to give it some depth….collage work, embossing, dimension, and linen thread!

QUIET MEADOW BUNDLE

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Soft Succulent cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 2 x 5-1/4 piece of Soft Succulent In Color 6×6 DSP was added to the right side.
  • The 3 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the Quiet Meadow floral image with Memento Black Ink and colored with Soft Succulent and Polished Pink Stampin’ Blends.
  • The dotted background and word cluster were stamped with Crumb Cake Ink in the background.
  • The stamped piece was embossed with the Bark Embossing Folder.
  • One edge was torn and the edges all sponged with Crumb Cake Ink, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Love was stamped with Soft Succulent Ink on scrap Basic White, then cut with the tag Meadow Die and sponged around the edges with Crumb Cake Ink.
  • A Linen Thread bow was tied thru the tag hole and then added to the front of the stem.
  • A trio of Elegant Gems were added in the background.
