IM27 Healing Hugs

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! Don’t these cupcakes look SO yummy! I love that Stampin’ Up! put two new gorgeous purples in their color lineup!

I love the combination of Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape…plus a pop of Granny Apple Green! (Think the Queen of England liked the colors, too, since she wore them at the wedding!) And that new Tufted Embossing Folder is SO fun! It almost looks quilted!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Gorgeous Grape Cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Highland Heather is embossed with the Tufted Embossing Folder.
A 1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Gorgeous Grape stripe DSP from the Brights Collection was added to the left side.
The Get Well Soon greeting from Healing Hugs was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, then cut with the Layering Shapes Ovals, it is adhered to a scallop oval of Gorgeous Grape, then added to the front.
The rose from Healing Hugs was stamped with Gorgeous Grape on Whisper White and the leaves with Granny Apple Green Ink, then hand cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two of the Adhesive Sequins were added to the oval. LOVE that they are kind of iridescent!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite New Greeting

Today’s Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Favorite New Greeting”! Have you noticed all the fun, new fonts that Stampin’ Up! is using in their stamped images? LOVE them! I especially like the motivation greetings, or words of cheer. I send out a lot of “thinking of you” type cards and the new greetings are especially appropriate! Dandelion Wishes has WONDERFUL greetings in it and the font is so whimsical! I’ve combined it with the fun, new Stitched Labels Framelits!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Soft Sea Foam, the dandelion image was stamped randomly in the background with Soft Sea Foam Ink.
The greeting from Dandelion Wishes was stamped with Memento Black on Whisper White cardstock, then cut with the Stitched Labels Framelit.
The Dandelion image was stamped again on the Framelit shape with Soft Sea Foam Ink in the bottom right corner.
The Pear Pizzazz Shimmer Ribbon run thru the holes on each side and then wrapped around to the back and adhered.
The Stitched Label was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The small stitched heart from Stitched Labels Framelits was cut from Soft Sea Foam cardstock and added to the frame with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
An iridescent Adhesive Sequin was added to the center of the dandelion image.

Isn’t that so soft and pretty looking? For sure it would brighten someone’s day! CCMC516 Tropical Chic

Today’s another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge and this month we are casing cards from the new annual catalog! So much inspiration and it is fun to look at those cards in a different way and apply the colors, the layout, or simply be inspired by the featured card! Here is this week’s card challenge:

And here’s what I came up with using the Tropical Chic Bundle and the layout of the catalog card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Shaded Spruce cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock stamped with the “seeds” and long leaf images in Soft Sea Foam Ink.
Some Nature’s Twine was wrapped around twice and secured in the back of the Soft Sea Foam layer.
The wider leaf was stamped once in Soft Sea Foam Ink and once with Shaded Spruce Ink, then cut with the Tropical Thinlits.
The long leaf was also cut with the Thinlits from Shaded Spruce cardstock. All were added to the front.
The greeting was stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink on a 1-1/2 x 2 piece of Crumb Cake that also had the seeds stamped with Crumb Cake on top. It was added to the front over the leaves with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two flowers were stamped with Grapefruit Grove Ink and the stems with Basic Black Marker, cut with the Tropical Thinlits and added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

June 2018 – Alaska Achievers Blog Hop

I’m happy to be able to play along again this month with the Alaska Achievers Monthly Blog Hop! This blog hop is for those of us who have earned the Stampin’ Up! Alaska Incentive trip in July! Wow! Only a few more weeks until we go! Our theme this month is new catalog products! You are at my blog, Connie Babbert, and you’ll continue around the blog hop by clicking on the link under my name in the bottom list. I’m in the USA, so if you need any of the products I used, please contact me!

When I was creating my Rooted in Nature flower for last Monday’s post (SEE THAT BLOG POST HERE!), I got to thinking that it would be gorgeous done in red for a poinsettia! (A lot of you mentioned the same thing to me!)…so I created the same card with new colors for a Christmas Poinsettia using the small and large Rooted in Nature leaves!

Since a poinsettia is more oblong shaped than round, I moved the leaves around a little when adhering so they were more oval.

Stampin’ Details:

The base of the card is 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 2-3/4 x 5-1/2. The card is folded in half, then the front panel is folded back on itself.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Under the Mistletoe Designer Paper was added to the inside panel.
To create the flower, I started by stamping 7 of the large leaves and 6 of the smaller leaves with Cherry Cobbler Ink on Poppy Parade cardstock. They were cut out with the Framelits.
I punched a 2-1/4″ circle and covered it with Snail adhesive, then began with the larger leaves and formed the background poinsettia in an oval shape.
On the smaller leaves I placed the adhesive on the back and layered over the large ones. I curled all the petals slightly for a natural look.
In the center are three large Gold Faceted Gems.
The flower was added to the front panel, hanging over the edge.
For the actual “leaves” of the poinsettia, I stamped 5 leaves with Shaded Spruce Ink on Shaded Spruce cardstock, then cut out with the Framelit and tucked them under the poinsettia on the front panel.
Finally, the greeting from Stylish Christmas stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 3/4 x 3-3/4 strip of Whisper White, the end was flag cut and tucked under one of the petals.
Inside, I stamped the second greeting from Stylish Christmas with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, then cut with the Stitched Labels Framelits (LOVE those!)

Isn’t that a gorgeous, BIG poinsettia. I can see these adorning the top of a gift or box, too!

IM26 – Rooted in Nature

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! I love this lacy looking flower and I knew immediately what I wanted to do!

I used the large and small leaves from Rooted in Nature Bundle to create my large yellow flower! And paired it with the polka dot pattern in the Brights Designer Paper Package…I love that we have the DSP in all colors again AND that they feature polka dots and stripes…my favorites!

This is a Z-fold card, so here is what it looks like open.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2. It is folded in half and the front panel is folded back on itself.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Daffodil Delight Brights Designer Paper was added to the inside panel.
To create the flower, I started by stamping 7 of the large leaves with Crushed Curry Ink on Whisper White. Next is 6 of the smaller leaf stamped with Crushed Curry Ink on Daffodil Delight cardstock. They were cut out with the framelit.
I punched a 2″ circle and covered it with Snail adhesive, then began with the larger leaves and formed the background flower.
On the smaller leaves I placed the adhesive on the back and layered over the large ones. I curled all the petals slightly for a natural look.
In the center is a large Gold Faceted Gem.
The flower was added to the front panel, hanging over the edge.
For the actual “leaves” of the flower, I stamped with Granny Apple Green Ink on Granny Apple Green cardstock, then cut out with the framelit and tucked them under the flower on the front panel.
Finally, the greeting was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White and hand cut and adhered on the DSP.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite New DSP

Today’s Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Favorite New Designer Paper”! Again…how can I only choose ONE out of all the fabulous new designer papers in the catalog! But, I’ll share one that is kind of a sleeper…Garden Impressions…it has great floral designs, but the flip sides are really nice subtle prints in bright colors! I had a bunch of 2×2 DSP squares left over from another project, so they were PERFECT to use on this card along with my Pop of Petals stamp set! LOVE it!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Mango Melody cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 1 x 5-1/4 strip of Mango Melody cardstock was added towards the right side.
Two of the 2″ squares from Garden Impressions DSP were added to the Whisper White along the right side. A different pattern was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals staggering the other ones.
Two of the Pop of Petal flowers were stamped with Mango Melody Ink on Whisper White and punched with the Four Petal Punch and adhered together. A Gold Faceted Gem is in the center.
Another flower was stamped with Shaded Spruce and punched, then cut in half for the “leaves”. The flower was added to the DSP square with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the petals slightly curled.
Sending Prayers from Itty Bitty Greetings was stamped with Shaded Spruce ink on Whisper White and punched with the Classic Label punch, then added on front tucked under the flower.

CCMC515 Rooted in Nature

And here’s what I came up with using the Rooted in Nature Bundle!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is a 3-1/4 x 4-3/4 piece of Soft Suede leaf print from the Nature’s Poem Designer Paper.
Over that is a 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock.
On top of that is a 2 x 3-3/4 striped print from Nature’s Poem Designer Paper.
Then two 1/4 x 3-1/4 strips of coordinating DSP were added on top.
The greeting was stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut with the Stitched Shapes Oval, then placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The trio leaf was stamped with Cajun Craze Ink and the large leaf with Soft Sea Foam Ink on Whisper White and cut with the Nature’s Roots Framelits, then tucked under the oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, two of the Faceted Dots were added to the front for a little bling.
