CCMC372 Among the Branches

It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge. We’re doing the following color combination this week, so grab your stamps and play along!

Here’s my card:

And here are the details to recreate it:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Delightful Dijon, folded in half.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Night of Navy is embossed with the Woodlands Embossing Folder. A sponge dauber and White Craft Ink was added to the raised areas to make them stand out.
A 2-1/4 x 4 panel of So Saffron with a 2 x 4 piece of In Color Pattern DSP was placed along the left side.
Gold Cording was wrapped three times around the Night of Navy panel and secured in the back.
The Autumn Wishes medallion from Among the Branches was stamped with Night Of Navy Ink on Whisper White and punched with the 2″ Circle punch, then placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
LOTS of little leaves from Among the Branches were stamped with So Saffron and Delight Dijon Inks and hand cut, then placed among the tree trunks and medallion.

Halloween Happy Scenes

I love the set, Happy Scenes in Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday Catalog! My favorite image is the spider web! Here’s a card I came up with…was going to use it for a class card until I realized I used 3 sets of Framelits on it! Oh well, I still really love the black cat, the window and the scene…so I’m sharing it here! It reminds me of my cat looking out the window all day!

Here are the details to recreate this card.

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White, folded in half.
A 2-1/4 x 4 piece of Farmers Market Designer Paper was adhered to the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Hello Honey. A 1/4 x 4 strip of Whisper White hides the seam and is the “chair rail”.
The Hearth & Home Thinlet Die is cut from Thick Whisper White.
The background of the window is 2-3/8 x 3-1/4 Hello Honey cardstock sponged with Tangelo Twist Ink. The spider web is stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink in the upper right corner.
A moon is punched form the 1″ Circle Punch from Hello Honey cardstock and placed in the upper left corner, trimming off the excess.
The Sleigh Ride Edgelit houses were cut from Basic Black cardstock and placed along the bottom of the scene. The scene was adhered to the back of the window and then added to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Pumpkin was made with 1″ Circles punched from Tangelo Twist cardstock, sponged with ink on the edges and adhered together. The leaf is from the Bird Punch from Old Olive cardstock.
The black cat is cut from Basic Black cardstock with the Festive Fireplace Framelits and adhered sitting on the pumpkin and looking out the window!
Wishing you from Happy Scenes was stamped with Tuxedo Black on the DSP in the lower right corner.

See…wasn’t it worth using THREE of the Framelits on this card??? lol! I love it!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – It’s Halloween

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Blog Hop! Our theme this week is HALLOWEEN! It’s a spooky time of year! I just finished my Witches Decor Hat Project Kit and had some left over pieces, so decided to make up a card with them! Love those orange and black striped pieces!

Here are the details to recreate this card:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Tangelo Twist, folded in half.
On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic Black cardstock, the orange/place label was adhered across the center.
Silver Cording was wrapped three times around that layer and tied in a bow on the left side.
The Witches’ Night greeting was stamped with Black Archival Ink on Very Vanilla, then cut with the Lots of Labels Framelit. The crow was stamped again on scrap Very Vanilla, cut out, then placed on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The 31 is another piece from the hat kit, added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Pretty easy to pull together with the kit pieces and I love how it turned out!

CCMC371 Acorny Thank You

It’s time for a new sketch challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary…come play along!

A funny story about my card. I have had this card done for a couple weeks. Earlier this week I saw Chris post her Acorny Thank You card to our loading area and noticed it used the same stamp set as mine. So, I went ahead and made a second card using Flurry of Wishes snowflakes. Then, Jenny uploaded HER snowflake card to our loading area. Ours were almost identical! So…since my Acorny Thank You card wasn’t as similar to Chris’s card as mine was the Jenny’s card, I went back to my original version! lol! I’ll post my snowflake one at another time!

Here are the details to recreate this card:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Rich Razzleberry, folded in half to form base card.
A 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Into the Woods Designer Paper was placed across the top of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake.
The 1/4″ Rich Razzleberry Cotton Ribbon hides the seam and wraps to the back of the Crumb Cake layer to adhere.
The acorns from Acorny Thank You were stamped with Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie and Early Espresso Inks on Whisper White cardstock, then punched with the Acorn Punch. They were placed along the bottom of the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Thankful from Acorny Thank You was stamped with Crumb Cake Ink on Whisper White and cut out. A Neutrals Button was tied with Gold Cording in a bow and added to the greeting. It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

SUOC130 Leaflet Framelits

Happy September!!! It’s time for another SUO Challenge and we are featuring Thinking of You or Friend cards! I’ve been making several of these lately due to several friends going thru cancer treatments and surgery. I’m thinking of them often and send off a card to cheer them up!

Isn’t the script font on the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit stamp set beautiful? I love the sentiments…and so worth buying the entire kit just to get those stamps! And…these leaves and acorn were actually leftovers from the Witches Hat Kit…but you could make more with the Leaflet Framelits and Acorn Punch.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Early Espresso cardstock, folded in half to form base card.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock was embossed with the new Woodland Embossing Folder. A sponge dauber with White Craft Ink highlights the birch trees, then the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker adds the details on the trees.
The leaves were leftovers from the Witches Hat Kit, but are the same shape as the Leaflet Framelits in Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey and Cajun Craze cardstock. Soft Suede was sponged around the edges.
The greeting from Watercolor Wishes was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on the large maple leaf. They were placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The acorn was stamped with Crumb Cake and Early Espresso Inks using the Acorny Thank You stamp set directly on the Witches Hit leftover acorn. (Or stamp and use the punch!)
Gold Cording was tied in a bow around the acorn stem.

Leaflet Framelits Inlaid Words

Sorry, didn’t quite know how to title this post this morning! I recently did a Technique Class and this was the prototype to the card we actually did in class…that one we used Vintage Leaves to stamp the background, this one I used the Into the Woods Designer Paper! Thanks to Amy Kunkle for the idea of using leaves for this Inlaid Words technique! I also recently posted a snowflake one HERE…if you missed it…using a slightly altered take on the idea of inlaid words!

Here are the details for remaking this card:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake folded in half.
A 4×4 piece of Into the Woods DSP was added to the right side of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Old Olive,
Some 1/4 Early Espresso Ribbon hides the seam and adheres behind the Old Olive layer, then adhere the layer to the base card.
Two leaves were cut from Tangelo Twist and Early Espresso cardstock. The Tangelo Twist leaf was cut in half with the Hello Greetings Thinlet, then an additional Hello was cut from Old Olive cardstock.
Add the bottom portion of the Tangelo Twist leaf to the Early Espresso leaf, then add the Old Olive Hello, then add the top portion of the Tangelo Twist leaf to the top of the Early Espresso leaf. The word “Hello” is inlaid into the leaf! TIP: Offset the Tangelo Twist leaf on the Early Espresso leaf for a slightly different look!
Cut a 3/4 x 4 strip of Hello Honey cardstock with flag ends and place on the front of the card.
Finish off by adding the leaf to Crumb Cake cardstock cut with the Circle Framelit, and a little Early Espresso Ribbon tied in a bow around the stem of the leaf. Pop up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Hope you like it! NO stamping on here which is different for me! lol!

CCMC370 Cup of Cheer

It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge! This week it is a pretty color challenge that I know you’ll love! I’ll be using it again!

Here I’m using another new set in the Holiday Catalog called Cup of Cheer!

Here are the details to recreate this card:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pool Party, folded in half.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White is embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder, then adhered to a 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Basic Black…love how that pops!
A 1-1/2 x 3-7/8 strip of Watermelon Wonder cardstock is wrapped with Basic Black Satin Stitched Ribbon and adhered to the back, then added to the front of the card.
The doily was cut in half, then sponged with Pool Party Ink, and tucked under the bottom of the Watermelon Wonder strip.
Cup of Cheer image was stamped with Watermelon Wonder Ink, the steam color was removed with a Blender Pen, the colored with Pool Party Marker…and stamped on scrap Whisper White, it is punched with the 2-1/2 Circle Punch. The liquid in the cup and the word cheer was also colored with the Pool Party Marker. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, a wood Snowflake Element was added to the front with a Rhinestone Jewel in the center.

Watercolor Wings

I really have been working hard in my studio using lots of the new products in the Holiday Catalog…unfortunately they are for swaps and future classes so I can’t show them off yet! Soon, I hope! So…I finally sat down and played with the colors to make a Monarch looking butterfly with Watercolor Wings for my Stamp Club last month. Here’s a card I made with a leftover butterfly!

Here are the details on how to recreate this card:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White, folded in half.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party was embossed across the top 2/3s with the Elegant Dots Embossing folder. A strip of Cherry on Top Washi Tape is placed under the embossed area.
The 2 x 4-3/4 Whisper White was punched with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch, then Calypso Coral Seam Binding was placed thru the hole with Daffodil Delight Baker’s Twine tied in a bow.
You are so kind from Watercolor Wings was stamped with Hello Honey Ink at the bottom of the tag. A 1/8 x 2-1/2 strip of Calypso Coral cardstock was added to the tag, and then a Perfect White Accent added on it. The tag is popped up on the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Watercolor Wings butterfly was stamped with Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Watercolor Wonder Inks and cut with the new Bold Butterfly Thinlets. A Basic Black outline butterfly from Butterfly Thinlets was cut and adhered over top. I love how both sets of butterfly framelits work with each other! I added the butterfly to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

OK…love it! Hope you are inspired, too! Those butterflies are so much fun to make!
