Day 5 Preview and CCMC216 – Wonderfall

And…here's my card…the colors inspired fall leaves for me!

 

 

I started with a base of Night of Navy and layered on Whisper White.  I added a strip of the Rich Razzleberry circles pattern in Polka Dot Parade DSP across the bottom.  To hide the seam, I used the Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon, and added a fun SLIDE to it!  I stamped the Rich Razzleberry leaf directly on the Whisper White, then stamped a smaller one in Night of Navy and cut with the Leaves die.  I used the Woodgrain Impressions folder on the Lucky Limeade one for texture.  I tied some Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine in a bow and added it to the bottom stems.  My secret Create word is almost.  Finally, I added "Imagine the Possibilities" from Word Play in Night of Navy in the upper right corner.

Here's my card for today!  I love the new stamp set, Wonderfall and the coordinating Leaves die!  I thought about raking leaves when I was a kid and putting them in bushel baskets…so I came up with this fun card!

 

 

It is an actual card that folds up.  The leaves are tucked under the top band on the front so they don't interfere with the opening.  The base of the card is 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 More Mustard, then I cut in the sides slightly to form the barrel shape.  I was careful to keep the entire height of the card under 5 1/2 so that it fits in a regular envelope.  I used the Woodgrain Impressions Folder on the front of the card, and on the bands of Early Espresso.  I added Antique Brass brads to each of the sides of the bands for rivets. 

 

To fill the bushel basket, I cut and stamped (yes, in that order with this die!) the leaves and crunched them up a little for texture.  Some of them are cut in half to fit in easier.  I tucked in Champagne Glitter Paper leaves, too, for extra bling and sparkle.  At the bottom, I added a Bronze button (LOVE these accents!), tied with Linen Thread and the Give Thanks greeting from Full of Blessings stamp set cut with a flag end.

 

Like it?  I was thrilled with how it turned out!

SUOC52 – Photo Challenge

Wow…my second challenge on the SUO Challenge Design Team and they threw me a loop!  Use a Photo in an unusual way!  Well, now I supposed I could have done a scrapbook page or something, but I remembered seeing a card with a photo to personalize it for the birthday girl.  I thought it would be fun to recreate it with a photo of my friend's daughter since her birthday is coming up soon!  Isn't this fun?

 

 

I used a base of Rich Razzleberry cardstock and layered on Whisper White.  I cut three different patterns from the Floral District Designer Paper with the Tasteful Trim XL Die.  I covered the seam at the top with the Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Stitched Ribbon!  Then I punched the photo with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch and layered it on the 1 3/4 Scallop Circle Punch of Baja Breeze.  It was popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  For some bling, I added a row of Pearls and a larger pearl at the top of the Petite Pennants Punch party hat!  I stamped Happy Birthday from the Hostess Only set, Wacky WIshes in Basic Black.

Frightening Feline

This single stamp, Frightening Feline, was first on my order with the new Holiday Mini.  Of course, that is because I love Halloween and I have a kitty, Bleach!  lol!  Here is my card for another Control Freak swap…Halloween/Fall Swap from the Holiday Mini.  I did get some GREAT swap cards with this smaller than normal swap!

 

 

It is really a "frightening" simple card, too!  I did showcase a couple of the new products in the Holiday Mini.  I cut a 4×4 square of Howlingstooth & Scaringbone Designer Paper, then cut that in half diagonally for the front of the card.  It is layered on the Tangerine Tango cardstock.  I stamped the Halloween Kitty with Basic Black on Basic Gray cardstock, cut it with the Window Frame Framelits and temporarily adhered it to the front of the card.  I used the Festive Piercing Pack and pierced around the Tangerine Tango portion, not pierced on the DSP area…but I suppose you could.  Then I permanently attached the center Basic Gray panel with Stampin' Dimensionals inside the pierced area.   It just doesn't work to attach it with the Stampin' Dimensionals first…ask me how I know!  I added a Basic Black flower from the BoHo Blossom Punch with an orange Glimmer brad inside for a little sparkle.  The Tangerine Tango layer is adhered to the Basic Black base card.

 

As I said…pretty simple, but easily demonstrated card that shows off our WIndow Frames and Festive Piercing Pack!

SUOC51 – Googly Ghouls

Yeah!  I'm SO excited!  I get to announce today that I've been selected to be a part of the SU Only Challenges Design Team!  They do a new challenge every other week.  I admire the other members of the Design Team so much, so this will be a FUN assignment!

 

 

So, the first challenge that I get to participate in is to make a card using Designer Paper.  Well…that really isn't too much of a challenge for me since I use Designer Paper on about 98% of my cards!  lol!  But…it is fun to see what the design team did with this challenge!  Here is my card…I think it is a FUN one!

 

 

I started with a base of Lucky Limeade and layered on Basic Black.  I used 1 1/8" strips of Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Paper, cut with a flag end.  I stamped the Frankenstein image from Googly Ghouls with Basic Black on Lucky Limeade, then cut it out.  I added him with Stampin' Dimensionals to one of the pre-made tag designs from the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit…you get 10 each of two different sized tags…cool!  I decided to cover the tag hole at the top with a green Glimmer Brad, then added the Designer Label Punch from Tangerine Tango behind the tag, stamping Boooo from the same Googly Ghouls stamp set in Basic Black on it.  Finally, I added the Googlies to the eyes…they just make these Halloween cards SOOOO cute!

CCMC211 – Blue Ribbon

Yeah!  We're back after our break at the Stampin' Up! Convention!  Create with Connie and Mary has a FUN sketch challenge for you to try!  Pretty easy…so no excuses!  Get out those stamps and play along! 

 

 

I broke out my new Stampin' Up! Blue Ribbon stamp set.  I am using it for my Stamp Club project today, so since it was already out, I decided to use it for this sketch challenge, too. 

 

 

The base of my card is Rich Razzleberry cardstock.  I added the center panel of Whisper White and the Dotted Scallop Trim Border Punch of Daffodil Delight on each side.  I added a fun "flag" of the Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Pattern Designer Paper along the left edge.

 

I stamped the Blue Ribbon image in Daffodil Delight and punched the top with the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.  Then I cut out the bottom ribbon portion and adhered it under the scallop.  In the center, I stamped #1 in Rich Razzleberry and punched with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch, layered on the Silver Glimmer Paper for some extra sparkle.  In the center of the #1 is a Rhinestone Jewel, too.  All the layers are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Finally, I inked up The Winner with Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Markers and stamped on the Whisper White panel.

Floral Framelits Convention Gifts

When Convention rolls around, I start thinking about Convention Gifts and what to make for my roommate and some special friends and Create with Connie and Mary designers who attend!  I saw a project done with wristlet key chains on Pinterest…but…it required sewing!  While I can sew a little and have made valances and pillows, it isn't my favorite past-time…I'd rather be stamping!  So…I hired a good friend and fellow demo, Mindy Gray, to make some of these up for me!  I love how they turned out in Stampin' Up!'s pretty Summer Smooches fabric!

 

 

Of course…I did have to package them up pretty!  I used the Floral Frames Framelits and made up some toppers. 

  1. I used one of the larger flowers and Lucky Limeade, then scored it in half to make the "leaves" and the actual topper that fit over the cello bag.
  2. The large thin cello bags are pretzel bags. 
  3. I cut flowers from Real Red cardstock (run thru the Big Shot with the Chevron Folder), Summer Smooches Designer Paper, and Tempting Turquoise cardstock
  4. I added a Vintage Faceted Designer Button in the center with a green Glimmer Brad to hold all the layers.
  5. I tucked in the For You greeting from Itty Bitty Banners, stamped with Basic Black on Whisper White.

 

 

I thought they turned out really cute!  AND…I have a few of these left!  SOOOOO…I'm giving away one to anyone that signs up with Stampin' Up! on my Inkspired Treasures team, along with a couple things I picked up at Convention!

Christmas Blessings 2

I'm back!  Back from the Stampin' Up! Convention in Salt Lake City!  I had a WONDERFUL time seeing my fellow demonstrators and friends!  I love going and getting re-charged with ideas…meeting NEW people…and seeing my OLD (not in age!) friends!  THANK YOU to all of you that stopped me and said hi…that you enjoy reading my blog and getting ideas!  I truly enjoyed meeting you and putting names with faces!  To me…this is one of the best things about maintaining my blog…is the new people I've met!  I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted…will take me a day or two to really catch up, I think!  But, I'm anxious to get in my stamp room and start stamping!

 

I was blessed to walk across stage several times for awards…love that recognition…thanks to ALL my customers for helping me reach my goals this past year!  And yes…now I have NEW ones…the Incentive trip is on the Allure of the Seas cruise ship to Western Caribbean!  WOW!  That is one AMAZING ship!

 

Here is one of the cards I made to swap with my SUDSOL group at Convention (if you want a 2 week free trial, click on the SUDSOL graphic on my right sidebar)…we had a fun time at lunch and swapping and took a group photo.

 

 

I wanted to create a card that could be used for your actual Christmas card using Stampin' Up!'s Christmas Blessings poinsettias and without having to color in the image.

  1. Base card is Cherry Cobbler
  2. Layer of Very Vanilla, run thru the Big Shot with the Petals a Plenty folder across the top 1/2
  3. Add Be of Good Cheer DSP and greeting in Basic Black
  4. Cut Apothecary Accent from Crumb Cake, stamp the poinsettia image on top in Cherry Cobbler
  5. Punch a hole at the top and tie on Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon
  6. Add pearls to the centers of the flowers
  7. Pop up the Apothecary Accent on top of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals
