Saturday Blog Hop – Black & White

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  This week our theme is “Black & White”.  I pulled out the Botanical Textures Designer Paper that has ALL black and white prints!

I still had Charming Day sitting out on my desk and thought the dies would make a great contrast with the DSP!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 panel of Botanical Textures DSP was added on top.
  • The 2-3/4 x 4-3/4 panel of Basic White cardstock was embossed with the Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder and added at an angle on the front of the card.
  • The Charming Day Dies were cut from Basic Black cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Charming Day was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 3/4 x 3 strip of Basic White cardstock.  The end was cut at an angle and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Neutral Matte Dots were added to the background.

CSF876 – Twisted in Time

It’s Thursday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends challenge!  For each Thursday in July, we pick a different sample from Stampin’ Up’s! Annual Catalog to use as our inspiration.  We are not copying the card but using it to inspire our creation…maybe we use the same set or the colors or the layout or some combination of all the above…it is fun seeing where the inspiration piece will take each of the designers!  Here’s this week’s inspiration:

TWISTED IN TIME

I’m SO sad that this Twisted in Time bundle is on the Last Chance List…it really is a fun set to work with!  Grab it now before it is gone (but make sure to purchase the stamps and dies separately…you’ll save more than the bundled price!)

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 1 x 4 strip of green striped Floral Impressions DSP was cut with a flag end and added at the top left.
  • A 3 x 5 piece of Basic White cardstock is stamped by inking the Size B block with Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive, and Mossy Meadow Inks, spritzing them with water before stamping them staggered on the paper.
  • The Twisted in Time tree is stamped with Early Espresso Ink in the lower right corner.  The panel was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Linen Thread is tied with a large loop bow and added to the upper left corner with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • The greeting was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on 1 x 2 piece of Basic White cardstock and the end flag cut.  It was added over the bow with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned Adhesive Backed Dots were added in the background around the greeting.

I used the layout of the challenge card but changed out the colors and the images!  I love how it turned out!  Check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this challenge over on Create with Stamping Friends.

CS200 – Turtle-y Cute

It’s a new month and a new Creatively Simple challenge!  Our theme this month is “Party Time”!  All sorts of reasons to throw a party…birthday, graduation, anniversary, holiday!

TURTLE-Y CUTE

Although I haven’t purchased the Turtle-y Awesome Stamp Bundle, I do LOVE the Turtle-y Cute Designer Paper!  So many cute images to cut out for almost ANY occasion!  I went with a birthday cake and birthday hat for my turtle’s celebration!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock is added on top.
  • The 1-1/4 x 4-1/2 strip of striped Turtle-y Cute DSP was adhered towards the bottom with a 3/4 x 3-3/4 strip of green swirls adhered on top.
  • Celebrate from Blooming Phrases was stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink above the DSP.
  • The turtle was hand-cut from the DSP, along with the cake and party hat.  They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Shades of Green Hexagons were added to the background.

IM391 – Simply Said Party Banner

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration is some fun patriotic decorations!

SIMPLY SAID PARTY BANNER

I love these new LARGE sized party banners!  They aren’t just for making garlands…although they do make those easy to make!  Here’s one I used on my patriotic card just in time for the 4th of July!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Azure Afternoon cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Real Read cardstock is added on top.
  • I started with a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock and added 3/8″ strips of Real Red and Azure Afternoon cardstocks spaced across the bottom two-thirds.
  • I added a 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Azure Afternoon cardstock across the top.
  • Let’s Celebrate from Simply Said stamp set was stamped with Real Red Ink on a 1/2 x 4 strip of Basic White cardstock, then added under the Azure Afternoon to hide the seam.
  • Everything was cut with the seventh from largest Party Banner Die (run back and forth several times to cut thru all the layers).  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The stars from the A Little Cheer Punch Pack were punched from Basic White cardstock and added across the top randomly.
  • Some gold Low Profile Dots were added on each side of the greeting.

Saturday Blog Hop – Summer Flowers

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  This week our theme is “Summer Flowers”.  I love all the bright colors of flowers you see in flowerpots and flower beds!  Always so cheerful!

CHARMING DAY

I have bright pink in my flower beds and flowerpots this year, so I went with that color on today’s card!  And I love the prints in the Flora Charm Designer Paper…kind of a modern twist on some vintage prints!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Beige cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Petunia Pop cardstock was added on top.
  • Two 1-1/2 x 4 pieces of Floral Charm Designer Paper were added to the top and bottom.
  • The floral bunch was cut with the die from Basic Beige cardstock and added to the left side with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Happy Birthday was stamped with Petunia Pop Ink on a 3/4 x 3 strip of Basic Beige and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of navy Charming Shimmer Faceted Dots were added in the background.

CSF875 – Perfectly Pears

It’s Thursday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends challenge!  Another fun sketch for you to try this week!

PERFECTLY PEARS

Yep…I know…my third week that I’ve used this bundle.  But it is SO much fun and easy to work with!  I especially love this little pair of pears!  lol!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Basic Beige cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Old Olive is added on top.
  • The 2 x 4 pear Painterly Pears DSP is added down the center.
  • The coordinating leaf Painterly Pears DSP is added across the center towards the bottom.
  • A 3/8 x 5 strip of Timid Tiger cardstock was added over the leaf print towards the bottom.
  • The pears were stamped on Basic White cardstock with Memento Black Ink.  The center of the pears were colored with Daffodil Delight Ink, then Cajun Craze Ink was added along one side with a small Blending Brush.
  • The leaves were colored with Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Combo.
  • It was cut with the Spotlight on Nature circle, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Hello was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 3/8 x 1 piece of Timid Tiger cardstock and added next to the circle with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
  • A trio of Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned Dots were added to the background.

CS199 – Thankful Garden

It’s our last Creatively Simple masking challenge for the month.  I’m doing the most traditional form…using masks on a stamped image.  Stampin’ Up! has provided a package of masks to go with the Thankful Garden Bundle…makes it SO easy to color these beautiful flowers!

THANKFUL GARDEN

The color of my stamped hydrangeas almost duplicates the color of the ones that are right outside my studio window!  SO pretty and a nice bright pink!  I’ll need to get a photo when they are blooming again.  I noticed one of the bushes does have buds on it, so not long now!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Strawberry Slush cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the hydrangeas in Memento Black Ink, then colored with Pretty in Pink (stamped off once for the base color, full for the second mask) and Strawberry Slush Ink for the detail mask.  It was cut with the Everyday Arches Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two leaf clusters were cut from Garden Green cardstock and sponged with Garden Green Ink, then tucked under the arch on the left side.
  • The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Strawberry Slush cardstock and cut with the smallest Everyday Arches Die.  It was added to the front over the leaves.
  • A trio of Strawberry Slush & Pretty in Pink Gems were added to the background.

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration is a pretty field of flowers!

IMPRESSIONS ABLOOM

Well, I’m kind of cheating here.  I had originally designed this card for my Stamp Class last month, then changed up what I wanted to do!  But I thought it fit pretty well for today’s challenge.  Had I made it specifically for this challenge, I probably would have used different colored flowers…but I wasn’t going to re-do it!  lol!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Woven Textures DSP was added on top.
  • The oval from Impressions Abloom Dies was cut from Soft Sea Foam cardstock, then embossed with the Glass & Gardens Embossing Folder, then added to the front.
  • The flower stems and leaf branch from Impressions Abloom Dies were cut from Garden Green cardstock.  The flower tops were cut from Real Red cardstock.  They were assembled together and added to the left side of the oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Impressions Abloom was stamped on 3/4 x 3-1/2 Basic White strip of cardstock with Real Red Ink and the ends cut at an angle.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the bottom flower.
  • A trio of Strawberry Slush & Pretty in Pink gold/white Gems were added to the background.
