CCMC702 – Chasing Butterflies

Hello! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. We have a timely color challenge for you this week, perfect for Valentine’s Day!

CHASING BUTTERFLIES

Chasing Butterflies is another cute stamp set that Stampin’ Up! has available to pick up FREE with a qualifying $50 purchase (US). This card is going out to my granddaughter for Valentine’s Day! (The boys are getting robot cards!) Did you notice her hair has Highland Heather highlights? Too funny!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Highland Heather cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Sweet Talk Designer Paper was added to the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock.
A 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Real Red cardstock was added to hide the seam.
The greeting from Chasing Butterflies was stamped with Real Red Ink above the DSP.
The little girl from Chasing Butterflies was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and colored with Highland Heather, Real Red, Dark So Saffron and SU900 Stampin’ Blends. The checks are Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends. Note: The polka dots on her dress were just hand drawn.
A few hearts cut from the Sweet Heart Dies were added to the background.

Creatively Simple 23 – Calming Camellia

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Birthday”, and we each create a simple card every week using that theme!

I’ve used Stampin’ Up!’s new host set, Calming Camellia, for today’s card! You can get it FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration! It isn’t usually a style I gravitate to, so it was a little different working with it, but I like the outcome! I used some cheery bright colors.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Magenta Madness cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the greenery leaf and Pear Pizzazz Ink randomly.
A 1 x 4 strip of Pear Pizzazz cardstock was added across the front, then a 1/8 x 4 strip of Magenta Madness cardstock added over that.
Happy Birthday from Calming Camellia stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, then cut with the label in the Bouquet of Love Dies. It was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the front.
A bow was tied from Magenta Madness Open Weave Ribbon and added with a Mini Glue Dot next to the label.
A trio of In Color Jewels (pink) were added to the background.

IM214 – Garden Greenhouse

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have a pretty pillow for our inspiration.

GARDEN GREENHOUSE

I search thru the stamp sets in the Jan-June Mini Catalog for a leaf that looked a little similar to this pillow. I didn’t want to use the same set that Mary did either! I came up with the leaf cluster in the Garden Greenhouse stamp set.

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Daffodil Delight cardstock.
- The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic White cardstock was randomly stamped with the Garden Greenhouse leaf in Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Granny Apple Green Inks.
- A 1 x 3-3/4 piece of Pool Party cardstock was placed across the front towards the bottom.
- A label from the Hippo & Friends Dies was cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock (have you gotten these dies yet??? I love the labels in it!) It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- One of the leaf clusters was stamped with Granny Apple Green Ink on Basic White and cut with the Dies.
- Two flowers were stamped with Bermuda Bay Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Dies.
- They were assembled and adhered next to the label.
- A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the label and background.

CCMC701 – Nuts & Bolts

Hello! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. It’s a fun sketch this week and I couldn’t wait to use my new Nuts & Bolts stamp set from the Jan-June Mini Catalog!

NUTS & BOLTS

I LOVE the robots and the “punny” greetings in this set!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Gray Granite cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to form the base.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party cardstock is embossed with the Hammered Embossing Folder and added to the front.
A 2-1/2 x 4-1/2 piece of Brick pattern Bloom Where You Are Planted Designer Paper was added in the center.
The robot from Nuts & Bolts was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Gray Granite and Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blends. The ground was stamped with Gray Granite Ink.
It was cut with the Layering Circle and attached to a Scallop Layering Circle cut from Basic Black cardstock. The circles were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Nuts & Bolts was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock and cut with a point on the end. It was added to the front over the bottom of the circle.
A trio of copper Brushed Metallic Dots were added to the background.

Creatively Simple 22 – Hello Ladybug

I’ve used Stampin’ Up!’s new Hello Ladybug for today’s card! One of my stamping groups made this card a couple weeks ago and loved it! It really is too cute!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded with the fold on the left.
A 1-3/4 x 4 piece of Sweet Talk Designer Paper was added to the left side. I love that these patterns aren’t just for Valentine’s Day!
The largest Simply Stitched rectangle was cut from Basic White cardstock. The leaf from Hello Ladybug was stamped with Granny Apple Green Ink towards the right side.
The body of the ladybug was punched from Basic Black cardstock and the wings were stamped with Real Red Ink on Basic White cardstock, then punched. They were added to the leaf with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Hello Ladybug was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
A trio of Red Rhinestones were added to the background.

IM213 – Flowing Flowers

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have a pretty tablescape for our inspiration.

FLOWING FLOWERS

I really couldn’t decide which way to go with this picture, so decided to focus on the peach flowers. I pulled out the new Flowing Flowers stamp set and used it for my card.

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pale Papaya cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Pale Papaya polka dot print Daffodil Afternoon DSP was added on the left side of a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock.
- The flower was inked with Pale Papaya and the leaves and speckles inked with Pear Pizzazz and a sponge dauber before stamping on the Basic White. Clean and repeat.
- A 3/4 x 4 strip of the hearts Daffodil Afternoon DSP was added across the front.
- Happy Birthday from Flowing Flowers was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 7/8 x 4 piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and the end torn. It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The Linen Thread was doubled and then tied in a bow and added to the greeting with a Mini Glue Dot.
- A trio of Polished Dots were added in the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Valentine Favor

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is a “Valentine Favor”. I love sending the grandkids some fun Valentine items and I’m looking forward to getting some packaging ideas this week!

SWEET HEARTS

I think the Sweet Conversations Bundle is one of the cutest we have had in a while! I used the Sweet Hearts Dies to make another little robot! (You can see the first one I made here!) I’ve added my robot to one of the new Sweet Little Boxes. They hold a box of Conversation Hearts perfectly!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is the Sweet Little Box assembled.
I added a 2-1/4 x 3-3/8 piece of Sweet Talk Designer Paper to the front.
Since I already had one cut out, I used the cloud from the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP, but you could use the Cloud Punch instead!
The head and body are cut from Blushing Bride cardstock using the Sweet Hearts Dies. The larger body heart is cut from Melon Mambo cardstock and the small hearts on the body, eye and antennas are the double heart Sweet Hearts Die cut from Real Red cardstock.
I used the squiggle die from Hippo & Friends Dies for the arms cut from Melon Mambo cardstock. The legs, antennas, and feet are small strips of Basic Black cardstock. The “lights” on the body is a strip of Real Red cardstock.
The hands are a 1/4″ circle punched from Basic Black and the mouth is a half of the 1/4 circle. The white eye is a 3/8″ circle and the pupils a 1/8″ circle of Basic Black cardstock.
Inside the heart and below on the body are Iridescent Rhinestones.
Some silver Simply Elegant Trim is added as a bow at the neck with a Mini Glue Dot.

Hello! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. Here’s a pretty color combination this week…love the sparkle of gold!

BLESSINGS OF HOME

When I feel like coloring, the Blessings of Home stamp set is PERFECT! I especially love this smaller image. I finally broke down and bought the Scallop Contour Dies from the Annual Catalog…I love the scalloped edges on these rectangles.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Calypso Coral cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to form the base.
Two 1 x 5-3/8 pieces of Abstract Beauty DSP were added to the front towards the left side.
A 1-1/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Soft Succulent cardstock was added across the front.
A 1/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Gold Metallic Paper was added over it.
A piece of Basic White cardstock was cut with the Scallop Contour Die and stamped with the image from Blessings of Home in Memento Black Ink. It was colored with Calypso Coral Combo, Soft Succulent Combo and Light Saffron and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Thank You greeting from Blessings of Home stamp set, was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White, and the Thank You trimmed off. It was added over the flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some gold Simply Elegant Trim was tied in a bow and added to the stem with a Mini Glue Dot.

I think the abstract look of the black/white/gold DSP with the vintage look of the stamped image is interesting combined together! Go check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this color combination over on Create with Connie and Mary!
